It was just so fucking wild to me, the concept of being nice to someone influencing their shopping decisions like that, particularly in my country where generally if you don't suck the customer off then you're getting fired, but for some reason if that customer uses EBT then it's okay to be fucking rude to them???

#Going from small town cashiering where like #People in that town still recognize me as ''their cashier'' when I go down to visit my parents #To a major city where that lady drove 20 minutes for basic customer service #Was baffling to me #In tx I once spent like 10 minutes running #Like actually literally running #Back and forth between my register and dairy to get this lady the right eggs for WIC #Cause apparently WIC in Texas cares what color your eggs are #Which they conveniently left out of both #The list of WIC approved items they hand out to grocery stores AND the guidelines they give out to WIC recipients #And neither she nor me nor my fucking manager figured that out until trip 3
