2. What the Constitution Means to Me (Helen Hayes Theater, New York, NY): This show was unlike any other play I’ve seen before. Heidi Schreck, who wrote and starred in WTCMTM, wrote a deeply human, poignant, and timely play about a document written by a bunch of rich, white men a few centuries ago and made it gripping, engaging, and relevant. It’s a show I believe every American should see. As an added bonus, Heidi is genuinely one of the kindest people I’ve met.

3. The Wrong Man (MCC Theater, New York, NY): I saw The Wrong Man for the first time three weeks before it closed, and I immediately fell in love with it and went back several more times in those three weeks. The Wrong Man is only ninety minutes long and has only three main characters, but it presents an engaging story about forgiveness, mercy, justice, guilt, and innocence. Ross Golan, the composer/lyricist, began performing The Wrong Man as a concept album thirteen years ago and turned it into a full musical. The score is beautiful and has some really great bops, and the choreography is probably the best I’ve ever seen.

4. Waitress with Sara Bareilles and Gavin Creel (Brooks Atkinson Theatre, New York, NY): I’m personally not the biggest fan of Waitress, but this was one of the most fun nights I had in a theater this year. Sara and Gavin had amazing chemistry, and I have never laughed so much at Waitress before. 

5. A Strange Loop (Playwrights Horizons, New York, NY): A Strange Loop is unlike any show I’ve ever seen before. It’s unlike anything anyone has seen before. How many shows center around a fat, black, queer character? I can’t think of any. Michael R. Jackson, the book writer/composer/lyricist, has an incredible ability to write satire that has you laughing at the same time you’re being punched in the face emotionally. A Strange Loop grapples with the intersections of racism, homophobia, and fatphobia. It’s meta at the same time it’s grounded, and gets more and more intense as the show progresses. I walked out of the theater in a daze after I saw it. My fingers are crossed it comes to Broadway.

5. Mean Girls, Taylor Louderman’s last show (August Wilson Theatre, New York, NY): Going to Mean Girls is a routine thing for me, and I’ve seen the show dozens of times, but every once in awhile something special happens that reignites my love for this show. Taylor’s last show was obviously incredibly sad for me, the cast, and everyone who loves this show, but I also laughed more and harder on this evening than I have in a very long time at Mean Girls. Everyone, especially Taylor, was giving this performance their all, and I’ll never forget it.

6. The Secret Life of Bees (Atlantic Theater Company, New York, NY): I had suspicions I was really going to love this show before I saw it, but I absolutely fell in love with it. The music is gorgeous (thank you, Duncan Sheik), the performances are stellar, and the story, though set decades ago, is as timely and relevant as ever. I do cry at shows pretty often, but rarely do I tear up because of how overwhelmingly beautiful a show is—but I did that at Secret Life of Bees. I’m still impatiently waiting on that Broadway transfer announcement.

7. Beetlejuice (Winter Garden Theatre, New York, NY): Despite all its flaws, I love this crazy, loud, obnoxious, wild show so much. I had seen it in DC and counted down the days until first preview on Broadway. I rushed first preview and ended up with front-row tickets, and I had one of the most fun nights in a theater I’ve ever had. The performances really make the show, and I’ve been very vocal about how I strongly believe Leslie Kritzer was snubbed by the Tonys. Beetlejuice also has my favorite scenic design for any show. I also have a uniquely personal connection to this showL Beetlejuice used to have a joke in the show I felt was offensive, so I reached out to Eddie Perfect and Alex Timbers and explained to them why I was hurt by it, and they actually listened to my feedback and removed the joke. I’m hoping Beetlejuice can find another home after June, because I’m not ready to say goodbye yet.

Next to Normal (Ground Floor Theatre/Deaf Austin Theatre, Austin, TX): For years I had been wanting an ASL production of Next to Normal with Sandra Mae Frank as Natalie, so when it actually happened I knew I had to fly to Texas to see it. I don’t think I’ve ever cried more at a show. Sandy made me look at Natalie in a whole new way, and the ASL interpretations of the lyrics added so many new layers to the show. Megg Rose, the Deaf actor who played Diana, gave one of the best performances I’ve seen, and I want her to be on Broadway immediately. This production really was a dream come true for me. 

9. Six (Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Chicago, IL): We drove to Chicago from NYC to see Six, and it was definitely worth it. I was in the front row for the first time I saw it, which was a terrifying but incredibly fun experience. This cast is so incredibly talented, and the show is so much fun, and being there with almost all of my closest friends was such a memorable experience. I’m so excited to see it again when it comes to Broadway.

10. Little Shop of Horrors (Westside Theatre, New York, NY): This was my first experience seeing LSOH, and I had an absolute blast. The performances were incredible, with Christian Borle being just off-the-wall crazy. I haven’t laughed that much at a show in awhile. The Audrey II puppets are fantastic, and what they’ve done with the scenic design in such a small space is amazing. I’m excited to see it again with Gideon Glick.

11. Indecent (Huntington Theatre Company, Boston, MA): Indecent is and always will be my favorite play, and I’m so incredibly grateful I got to see it again in Boston. Huntington recreated the Broadway production with many of the original cast members, and it was such a special show. I never thought I’d see that production again live, and Huntington gave me such an incredible gift with this play. 

12. Freestyle Love Supreme (Booth Theatre, New York, NY): FLS is just fun from start to finish. It’s completely improvised with special unannounced guests every night, so it’s different every time you see it. I loved seeing how they made the show more inclusive between Off-Broadway and Broadway (by asking people their pronouns, for example), and I have a blast every time. 

13. Ain’t Too Proud - The Life and Times of the Temptations (Imperial Theatre, New York, NY): I saw Ain’t Too Proud mostly for Jeremy Pope, and I was so pleasantly surprised by how much I genuinely loved the show. Derrick Baskin is one of the most hardworking performers on Broadway—he literally does not leave the stage. The choreography is so much fun, and each person in the cast is so incredibly talented. It’s also one of the most pleasant stage doors I’ve ever experienced; everyone at the stage door just really genuinely wants to congratulate and thank the performers, and the actors are so kind. 

14. Teeth (National Alliance for Musical Theatre Festival, New York, NY): It’s wild even to me that I’m putting a staged partial reading on this list, but that’s how good Teeth was. I spent the entire time laughing, and the songs are constantly stuck in my head. Everyone at the festival was talking about how much they loved the show, so I’m hopeful there will be a full production of it sometime soon.

We have been insuring our Audi with the Co-op, who I've generally found to be reasonable. However, now we have a problem. A couple of months ago we bought a van with the intention of replacing the Audi with the van. But the van needed some work doing on it, so we took out a second insurance on the van with the Co-op, so we could still drive the Audi. At the time, I was disappointed to be told that we could not have a No Claims Bonus on the van, as they said it could only be applied to one policy at a time. But they gave the clear impression that when we cancel the Audi insurance, we could then transfer the NCB to the van. The Audi has now broken down, so we want to cancel its insurance. However, yesterday when I called them, they now said they cannot transfer the NCB to the van as it would be being transferred 'mid-season' to a different car policy. They said they could only have applied it to the van if we had changed the original Audi's policy to cover the van, instead of taking out a different insurance policy for the van. This seems ridiculous. Surely, we are entitled to our NCB?! Why should it matter that it is mid-season or not? I explained that if I cancelled our insurances with them and went to another company, I would be given a NCB on the van so why won't they give it to me. They agreed! I really don't want to change, as I don't trust other companies and the Co-op seem more ethical than others. But this seems so stupid. To get round this silly rule without changing company, I'm thinking of cancelling the van insurance and changing the Audi insurance to the van, ie. do what they said I should have done in the beginning. I was told that since I am registered under my parents insurance, the other party can see that they have a lot of assets they can sue for from my parents. I've done research, and I know Florida is a no-fault state, meaning drivers cannot sue each other unless serious injury occurred, such as loss of life, limb, permanent injury, etc. In both accidents, I did not get ticketed, and I believe no police report was written, only exchanges of information.(Police were called, however. Even by the standards of a business-happy Republican Party, privatizing the International Space Station — the Trump administration’s latest scheme — is a conspicuously terrible idea. Since taking office as NASA’s administrator in April, Jim Bridenstine (previously a member of Congress from Oklahoma with no scientific background) has pushed this scheme, most recently in an interview this week with the Washington Post.

NASA says it will save money by “leveraging private industry capacity, innovation, and competitiveness.” But it’s not just Democrats who are opposed to Bridenstine’s plan. None other than Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) held hearings in May and June to voice opposition.

The ISS, as the space station is commonly known, is by far the largest man-made object ever to orbit the earth. NASA, the Russian space agency, and 13 other countries built and run it jointly. It took 37 space shuttle flights and 5 Russian rockets to launch its various components. The station’s pressurized interior — the part astronauts live and work in – is about the size of the inside of a 747. Together with its large arrays of solar panels that provide power, the station would cover a football field.

It orbits some 240 miles above the Earth’s surface, traveling around the globe every 90 minutes. Over 230 individuals have visited the space station. People have lived on board continually since November 2000. The newest crew, an American, Russian, and a German, is scheduled dock with the ISS on June 8, having left Kazakhstan on a Soyuz rocket — currently the only way for humans get there — two days prior.

At Trump’s alma mater, Wharton, they presumably teach that successful businesses require customers who want to buy their product. The ISS lacks enough such customers. (Even though some tourists have paid their own way, each forking over between $20 million and $40 million for the privilege, and South Korea and Malaysia have paid the Russians to take their citizens to the ISS.) The Institute for Defense Analyses, a federally-funded research and development center, studied the issue and concluded that it “is unlikely that a commercially owned and operated space station will be economically viable by 2025.“ The only way a commercial entity could run a space station, they found, would be with a substantial government subsidy. Such a subsidy does not fit the standard definition of “privatization” — except insofar as it would allow business cronies of political leaders to line their pockets at taxpayer expense, as in other recent privatization efforts, like the expanded use of private military contractors.

It’s difficult to come up with a business model for the space station that doesn’t either guarantee corporate profit — obviating any notional cost savings or encourage business managers to cut corners, potentially endangering the safety of astronauts.

It’s exactly the kind of ideologically motivated, scientifically and technically ill-advised initiative that many senators feared Bridenstine would make. It took the Senate over seven months to confirm him. Though the final vote was on party lines, many fellow Republicans who voted for him held their noses as they did so. As Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) put it: “I wish the president would have nominated a space professional to run NASA.”

Some research operations on the ISS have already been privatized. In 2011, in response to criticism that not enough science was being done on the station, NASA awarded a 10-year, $136 million contract to a new nonprofit corporation called the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS), which manages over half the research done on the ISS.

CASIS is happily marketing the ISS: “This unique microgravity research platform is available to U.S. researchers from small companies, research institutions, Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and others, all interested in leveraging microgravity to solve complex problems on Earth.”

Alas, very few researchers have been interested in “leveraging microgravity.” A January report by NASA’s inspector general found that, from September 2013 to April 2017, CASIS used only half of the research hours it was allocated. The Trump administration’s proposal would vastly expand the role of private corporations in running the ISS: It’s the difference, roughly, between putting a middleman in charge of renting out a block of hotel rooms and putting a company in charge of the whole hotel.

As the inspector general warned the Senate in May: “Candidly, the scant commercial interest shown in the Station over its nearly 20 years of operation gives us pause about the Agency’s current plan.”

Privatization aside, the International Space Station has never lived up to its hype. In his 1984 State of the Union Speech, President Ronald Reagan directed “NASA to develop a permanently manned space station and to do it within a decade.” The station would, he said, produce “leaps in our research in science, communications, in metals, and in lifesaving medicines which could be manufactured only in space.”

NASA launched the station’s first module in 1998, four years after Reagan’s deadline; it didn’t finish it until 2011. It’s hard to come up with a precise total cost – the station’s budget was mixed together with the shuttle program for many years, and various official sources are careless about adjusting for inflation. But we can take these figures as a floor: NASA spent $11.2 billion in the first decade of the program and an additional $75 billion from 1994 to 2013, according to the agency’s inspector general. Reagan had said it would cost $8 billion.

Despite the enormous sums spent building it, and NASA’s promotion of the space station, none of Reagan’s promised “leaps in our research” have come about. As science journalist Charles Seife put it a few years ago:

Most [ISS experiments] are published in third- or fourth-tier journals, if they’re published at all. Compare that to the mountains of seminal publications (not to mention a Nobel Prize or two) coming from unmanned spacecraft, and the difference is stark. If you factor in cost, the comparison becomes outrageous.

The most egregious example of mediocre science on the ISS might be an experiment conducted by Malaysia’s first astronaut to see how microgravity affects the “flavor, taste, texture, freshness, spice, sweetness and general acceptability” of Malaysian food. NASA would surely claim that their researchers are more serious-minded than the Malaysian counterpart, whom they dismissed as a tourist, but the thin scientific veneer on his trip is revealing.

Even as the ISS has proved a scientific disappointment, small unmanned satellites in low Earth orbit are in a golden age. A startup named Planet, founded by three former NASA engineers in 2010, now operates over 150 satellites of various sizes that gather pictures of the Earth. Cubesats, which are at most about half a cubic foot in volume, are cheap to build and cheap to launch. They are being used to tackle the sorts of experiments that people once thought would occur on the ISS, including testing artificial gravity or culturing cells and growing protein crystals.

The ISS is not pointless. There are experiments that cannot be done by robots: experiments on people. The absence of gravity tends to make us frail in multiple ways. Understanding and countering those effects is important if humans are to explore space. Better engineering knowledge about how to safely run a spacecraft for years (doing such things as recycling the fluids created on board to make potable water, maintaining a breathable atmosphere, and protecting humans from exposure to radiation) is also something that can only be gained by running the ISS or something like it.

Elon Musk may want to colonize Mars one day, but the principal customers for such research, at present, are NASA and other governmental space agencies. A commercial intermediary would be superfluous, serving only to profit as it brokered NASA’s services to itself.

The other justification for the space station is the “international” in its name. The ISS has hardly been a “model of peaceful international cooperation [that] … has exceeded all of its original goals and accomplished many things that were never envisioned,” as NASA’s associate administrator for human exploration and operations recently claimed in testimony to Congress. But in a time of strained relations with Russia, some cooperation is better than none at all. Even as tension over Ukraine, election meddling, and other issues has grown, the US and Russia have maintained a close working relationship in space.

The diplomatic impact of the ISS is difficult to measure. It may not be worth $3 to $4 billion a year on its own. But it certainly is without commercial value on that scale. If that amount of money is worth spending, it must be government money. What’s more, the existence of the word “international” in the space station’s name reflects how privatization would also threaten existing commitments to our Canadian, Japanese, and European partners.

“Public or private?” is the wrong question to ask. The fundamental debate about the future of the ISS ought to be over human exploration of the solar system. If you think such exploration is a worthy endeavor, then it follows that the government should continue to fund the space station. If you think sending a person to Mars is a waste of time, energy, and money, then it follows that the space station is also a waste, and should be decommissioned as soon as is safely practicable.

There are strong arguments to be made on both sides of this question. The pragmatic argument that robots can acquire much more knowledge per unit of money in harsh, distant environments is sound. For some, it is definitive. If Elon Musk wants so badly to go to Mars, then let him pay for it, the parsimonious appropriator argues, mindful of the many compelling needs on Earth. The spiritual argument that the drive to explore is noble, that exploring as a polity gives society collective purpose, and individuals hope for the future, is deeply moving to some.

Moreover, the argument from national greatness has been largely dormant since Richard Nixon and Leonid Brezhnev decided to call off the space race. If the Chinese government follows through on its plans to launch a manned space station by 2022 and land a man on the moon, such nationalist arguments may acquire renewed force.

NASA’s management of the ISS has been flawed in many ways. The solution to that is either to scuttle it entirely, or to fix NASA’s long-simmering problems. Privatizing the space station is a foolish middle path, akin to King Solomon slicing the baby in two. It would result in a more expensive and less effective ISS — which would be an impressive accomplishment indeed, though hardly an inspiring one.

When sending a Bitcoin transaction, its fee is proportionate to its size. The more inputs and outputs, the more expensive it is. Add to that the factor of pending transactions, and transaction fees can skyrocket based on those two factors alone.

It’s recommended you read the following materials before diving into the rest of this post in order to better understand the terminology we’ll be mentioning.

With Ethereum, given that we’re talking about a programming language within the protocol, it’s possible to be very computationally demanding with very little text or code (something which would be very cheap in the BTC-verse). Let’s look at this loop, for example:

This loop means “for as long as i is smaller than 1000, increase it by 1 and then sum up i and j and write the result into j, then do it all again.” This loop will execute 1000 times if i is 0, or more if it’s a negative number.

To pay for this computational cost in a fair way — since it has to be executed on all miners’ machines at once and they spend their resources and time on it — the concept of gas was introduced. Gas is used to pay for the execution of these so-called smart contracts (Ethereum programs) inside the EVM. For example, i + j above is a summation operation which costs 3 gas every time it’s executed, so 3000 gas if executed 1000 times.

To explain gas properly, let’s first cover the EVM.

EVM

EVM stands for Ethereum Virtual Machine. But what is a virtual machine anyway?

Virtual Machine

A virtual machine is software running on a specific computer which contains another operating system completely encapsulated inside the main one. For example, a virtual machine allows you to run Windows inside Linux, Linux inside Windows, Windows on macOS like in the image below, or any other combination.

We use virtual machines to separate the environment in which we do our everyday computer use from the environment we work or program in. This lets us keep viruses at bay (they have no way of breaching the virtual machine and getting to the main operating system), helps prevent infinite loops from crashing our main operating system, and holds hard-drive corruptions like the infamous WannaCry ransomware at bay. Additionally, VMs let us use Windows games on Linux, for example, or allow us to program in different versions of the same programming language’s environment easily, without mixing them up.

EVM

The Ethereum Virtual Machine is built into the software running on the Ethereum protocol. It executes smart contracts — Ethereum programs written in the Solidity language. The EVM is contained in the full nodes of the Ethereum network, inside of which it executes these Ethereum-user-written programs.

Any miner of Ethereum simultaneously executes smart contract code. What this means is that Ethereum programs (dapps — decentralized apps) are executed on everyone’s computer at the same time (decentralized).

Execution of these programs isn’t free, however. Miners spend their own electricity, time, and hardware to do this. To pay them for their effort of executing computer instructions (like “store the value 5 into the variable X”), the concept of gas was introduced.

Gas, Ether, and GWei

Gas is a unit of cost for a particular operation a computer needs to execute, and it executes this instruction when we broadcast a transaction which contains an Ethereum program in order to run a dapp. For example, summing two numbers costs 3 gas. Multiplying them costs 5 gas. Storing a 256bit word into the blockchain costs 20000 gas, which means storing 1kb of data costs 640000 gas.

Just like the USD has cents, so too does ether have its own basic unit: wei. If we take wei as the basic unit of ether, we get the following table of definitions:

According to this informative site, the current average price of gas is 10 GWei (10 gigawei). Seeing as 1 GWei is one billionth of an ether, the aforementioned cost of storing a 1kb word is 640000 * 10, which is 6.4 million GWei. That amounts to 0.0064 eth which, at a price of $450 per ether, amounts to around $2.88.

The text from the beginning of the above table all the way to >>this specific marker<< is around 1kb. So storing this little bit of text into the blockchain actually costs $2.88. However, that’s just the storage cost! Our smart contract could also have some logic, like summing or multiplying and then storing numbers, or triggers that activate on a specific mined block etc. Obviously, storing data into the blockchain itself is incredibly expensive. Storage is better off in BigchainDB or IPFS, while blockchain is a better solution for global processing and verification of that data.

Why Gas?

Why pay costs in gas and not ether directly?

All the gas prices of all the possible operations the EVM can perform are hard-coded in the Ethereum protocol and in the clients (programs) we connect to it, like Geth, Eth, Parity, etc. If the code listed them in ether, then we’d have to update the code every time ether’s value fluctuated to keep the price of computing efforts in a normal range and keep the system usable, which is obviously unsustainable.

By adding this gas layer on top of the costs, and paying for gas with GWei, we’re given the option to alter the amount of gas to use in a transaction and the amount of money to pay for it. It’s fully under our control, without throwing the system off balance.

This leads us to our last section.

Limit/Cost vs Price

Gas limit is the maximum amount of gas we’re willing to spend on a transaction. Most software we use to broadcast Ethereum transactions has the ability to auto-estimate the amount of gas that’ll be necessary to execute a function. It’ll usually suggest a figure right off the bat. For example, simple monetary A->B transactions usually need only 21000 gas. More complex ones which call specific smart contract functions might run into hundreds of thousands or even millions of gas. The spent amount of gas is called gas cost.

We, as a user, can modify the amount of gas we want to spend on a transaction and reduce it, but if the transaction runs out of gas during execution, we lose the gas we sent in. It’s been spent and the transaction is rejected. On the other hand, if we provide more gas than is needed, the rest is refunded to us. Hence, it’s always better to send more gas than you might need to execute a transaction.

Gas cost is the GWei price per unit of gas.

Thus, the total cost of an Ethereum transaction is actually the amount of necessary gas multiplied by the price in GWei per gas unit. This is the maximum transaction fee we’ll pay; any extra gas is refunded, so fees are often vastly overestimated.

Let’s look at an example.

In the above image, we’re executing a transaction which, due to its complexity, estimates it’ll need 135963 gas. With a 25 GWei price, the maximum transaction fee we’ll pay is $1.57, which is trivial when looking at the total amount we’re sending (0.38 eth = $178). If we raise the price of gas to 250 GWei, the transaction becomes proportionately more expensive:

A higher tx fee effectively encourages miners to process our transaction before others in the queue, thereby speeding up execution. If we’re not in a rush, we can leave the price of gas at its starting value and the transaction’s confirmation shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes. But if we’re in a rush and want it done in seconds (if, for example, we’re dealing with an auction), it’s easy to increase the price of gas and sacrifice some money for a guarantee of success.

Conclusion

It’s paid for in ether, the token of the Ethereum protocol, and each computational operation has a different gas cost. Finegold, 33, founded the organization in 2008 to honor her grandmother, who died from Alzheimer’s disease, and her grandfather, who cared for his beloved wife throughout the decade-long battle.

Today, there are more than 35 similar organizations around the country, but Dallas is by far the brightest shining star in number of participants and dollars raised.

If the goal of $600,000 is met, the 10-year tally will be $3.4 million.

This year’s BvB beneficiaries are Baylor AT&T Memory Center, the Center for BrainHealth, the Center for Vital Longevity and UT Southwestern Medical Center, awarded grants for research, prevention and care here.

“We ask that girls be the hair color of their team on photo day and game day, but some do not follow instructions,” says brown-haired Feingold, whose day job is director of corporate communications and events for the Dallas Mavericks. “It’s all for a good cause, so we can’t get too upset if they aren’t super blonde or dark brunette. Just as long as they raise $1,250 by game day, they can be on the field.”

“It was like I was 12 years old with them patting me on my head: ‘Oh, sweet girl, you’re so precious. That’s not ever going to happen,’ ” she recalls.

After the 2013 game, Blondes vs. Brunettes Dallas decided to give to other local causes where the 501(c)(3) would have greater say in how its funds were put to specific use. That meant changing its name because the Alzheimer’s Association holds the trademark to Blondes vs. Brunettes nationwide.

Today, she wears many hats — though no official ones — handling fundraising, sponsorship and branding. She’s the only person who knows how to set up and run the Jumbotron at the Cotton Bowl, where the game has been played since 2014.

An easy sell in Texas

“We raised $67,500 that first season,” Finegold says. “And to this day, I have no clue how we did it.”

But Finegold can tell you how the event gained and maintains momentum.

A friend hooked up Finegold and the game with The Ticket, which promotes the event through pro-bono radio commercials and online mentions. The station’s on-air talent calls the game. Ty Walker does the play-by-play. The Sirois brothers, Mike and Cash of "Cirque du Sirois" fame, are the comedic color commentators.

Jeff Catlin, program director of The Ticket, saw the natural alignment from the get-go.

"These girls playing in the game have fathers, boyfriends or husbands who listen to The Ticket," says Catlin. "And when you’re talking about guys between the ages of 25 and 54, Alzheimer’s is a disease that affects someone in his family or circle of friends.

"So it’s a pretty obvious and clear connection that’s mutually beneficial. We’ll continue to support the event as long as they will have us."

Ebby Halliday — both the late grand Realtor and her company — became a steadfast sponsor in season three. “I don’t think we’d be here today without Ebby,” Finegold says.

Bud Light came on board about the same time and has provided the brew for the past seven years. “That’s our bread and butter because people want to come, drink beer and watch football. It’s an easy sell in Texas.”

Every year has set a record with $564,000 raised last year.

Finegold is confident about meeting — possibly surpassing — the $600,000 goal, even though less than half of that is officially on the books. There’s always a last-minute rush to the goal line as players hustle to meet their $1,250 needed to get onto the field and others vie to be the fundraising MVP.
