SCU Sonic does NOT know how to fight.

Not hating, but think about it. Other than maybe two times and a couple failed punches, all I can recall seeing the babe do is Spin Dashes. Maybe because he's spent so much time RUNNING, not fighting like Mainstream (Game and/or Comic) Sonic, he doesn't yet know how to properly use his speed in a fight? He doesn't know what a force he can be yet.

In Movie 1, Sonic is learning just what power he holds inside. The baseball field explosion, taking down Eggman's tank, and then the iconic Green Hills fight. Sonic learns just how powerful he is.

Movie 2, in comes Knuckles. Strength vs. Speed. Sonic figures out that his blunt power isn't going to cut it like it did in the first movie. He's forced to think outside the box to best Knuckles. And even then, Sonic doesn't even WIN against him. Knuckles is the superior warrior in this; if Sonic hadn't called attention to Eggman stealing the Master Emerald, I don't doubt that Knuckles would have defeated him.

Perhaps in 3, with this powerful adversary, someone that's not only Strong but Fast, it calls attention to Sonic's lack of proper skill? Perhaps he finally gets the training he needs to hone his power into skills? Maybe Knuckles teaches him. Maybe that's what the race is about in the trailer. Ngl I'd love to see a training scene or two.

Or maybe I'm tripping. What do you think?

How do historians view Eustace Chapuys' description of Anne Boleyn? It is said that most people think he is exaggerating?Researchers at Anne Boleyn seem to have significant differences… The biographies of Mary I seem to fully agree with his records

I'd actually push back on the latter claim. Academic biographies > pop history biographies tend to give Chapuys, at best, a 'perhaps' re: his claims about Anne as a stepmother, at the least...

For example:

"Perhaps at Anne Boleyn's instigation, but certainly with the King's active support, Mary was several times pressured to acknowledge the illegality of her mother's second marriage, her own illegitimacy and the precedence now due to her infant sister."

(realize this is technically not an excerpt from a Mary I biography, but Judith M. Richards' on Mary I basically states the same, that at most Lady Shelton was there to "keep a particularly close eye" on Mary...and even that instruction, she attributes to Thomas Cromwell, not 'Queen Anne')

i think the fandom doesn’t capitalize on the fact that Alec is a older brother, that man probably has so much more black mail on Izzy and Jace then they do on him

Izzy and Jace have nothing they can use on Alec.

One: They didn't think they'd ever need to because they thought they knew what he'd do in most situations (say no and then begrudgingly help them anyway, and tbf to them, they're mostly not wrong pre-Magnus)

Two: He is so aggressively self-contained for survival reasons that the only 'secrets' either of them has on him are the facts that he's gay and he and his mother have a fucked up relationship and THOSE ARE NOT THINGS YOU CAN USE FOR 'friendly family blackmail'.

Three: Alec is a tactician, he is observant, he is ruthless. He knows everything Izzy and Jace have ever done and the fact that he (as far as we know) never uses any of it is amazing and a little heart-breaking because he could have manipulated and threatened the fuck out of them and made his own life so much easier and he never ever did.

<- also the book database thesis project i was talking about is an ongoing thing i’ve been starting already even tho i won’t even be starting my masters until next year, but i’m going to be assessing large library collections across england and wales in stately homes and castles and other historic buildings for any books that could have been bound with arsenic-based pigments and could pose a danger to other conservators handling them !! and i’ll be testing for the arsenic and quarantining the ones that are dangerous basically so other conservators don’t have to do the ridiculously dangerous things i love to do on purpose because i’m crazy lol
