So it turns out the Cyberverse Tech Specs on YouTube had character bios the whole time, and none of us noticed this except a user on Instagram who’s also been documenting things.

The bios are as follows:

Introducing Optimus Prime: Optimus Prime is courageous and caring, willing to protect his friends at all costs. Determined and strategic, he’s the first to take charge of any situation! As the newly appointed leader of the Autobots, he still has much to learn - but, his heroic spirit might just be the key to surviving on CYBERWORLD.

ONE. BIG. DINOBOT! Hear the roar. Feel the flame. Witness the King of the jungle in Cyberworld. He’s the heavy artillery with a hearty laugh to match. The jungle region won’t be silent for long. Enter Grimlock!

Bumblebee, Optimus Prime's top scout. He takes to CYBERWORLD like a game with eager curiosity, and reckless bravado. Often underestimated, the smallest Autobot is always ready to blaze his own trail through the biggest challenges.

Elita, second in command of the Autobots, has survived CYBERWORLD with her sharp skills and sharp tongue to match. Efficient on the Ocean and on the battlefield, when the squad needs a win they know who to call.

It really does feel like we’re going back to how things were but with a modern twist by keeping it virtual. That said, why aren’t these on the toy packaging, the TMNT toys still do character cards, so clearly kids want to have a better idea on who’s who on the toy shelf. Kids like to read, but like we did as kids, we want to read what we LIKE to read, and for some of us then that was Animorphs, Warriors, Guardians of Ga’Hoole and Garfield’s Pet Force. Kids only don’t read because the adults in their lives don’t prioritize it, like a lady who yelled at a kid at the library for wanting Dogman, but refused to get it for him because he can’t read. And whose fault is that, lady. -rubs temples-

Anyway, what we can glean here are several things:

Optimus is still new as leader of the Autobots, a role similar to his TFA self with G1 Rodimus, TFONE, and RiD Bee mixed in.

His profile also sounds properly Optimus-y, vs the socially awkward, can’t read the room millennial or stoic old man he’s been. So happy that seems to be finally dead.

Bumblebee also returns to more of his G1 roots in being the short kid that’s trying to prove himself to the big kids. This hasn’t been used in quite awhile, which is significant. Him also returning to being a more cocky teenager is also new, not being used since TFA and later Bay films.

The hearty laugh mentioned for Grimlock sounds like he’s good natured like RiD15 and CV Grimlock, though still retaining his powerhouse status from G1 and RiD.

Grimlock being the king of the jungle world does raise some questions on whether the other animal type Transformers (or for that matter non TF lifeforms) are subservient to him or not. Minus Scorponok and Sky-Byte, we have Snarl, Galvatron, Shockwave, Optimus Primal, Chop Shop and Cheetor. Galvatron lives in the desert world seemingly, but he would probably have beef with Big Grim in the jungle setting. Optimus Primal, as a gorilla, offers some natural Godzilla vs Kong action if need be, as well as homage his usual antagonism with Beast Wars Megatron, but still that remains to be seen.

Grimlock being king of anything has always been played fast and loose, with G1 Grimlock calling himself king to boost his ego and reference his Beast Mode being the king of dinosaurs. Marvel Grimlock did fancy himself king of the Autobots, in a Trumpian way albeit, even wearing a crown in robot mode, but this gag died off fairly quickly.

CyberVerse claimed Grimlock was king of the earth dinosaurs, but we saw very little of if and was among several complaints against the show for not depicting one of its more interesting ideas properly. So CyberWorld pending, the king of the jungle could be more fleshed out here. Plus, similar to G1 and TFA, if Grimlock is difficult to work with for Optimus, that’s another thing that’s been a long time coming (baring Skybound bringing back the Dinobots).

@monocle-teacup and I were worried Elita might be a bi….g meanie like she was in TFONE, and mention of this Elita having a sharp tongue certainly leans in that direction….

Still having a sharp tongue is probably necessary to wrangle the Autobots as second in command.

This probably happens a lot trying to wrangle Grimlock, presumably.

I would’ve preferred a Seven sorta direction personally, but it’ll probably be fine.

It makes me more excited to see what profiles we get for Mirage and Megatron in particular!

Now I may not personally subscribe to the idea, but you know, Megatron now having golden horns in this Megabull form is not helping Bumblebee beat the “child of divorce” allegations

Commish for @dynared that’s a commentary on current Transformers hullabaloo with ES, CyberWorld and Skybound in particular.

As a reminder this is based on EarthSpark fanon, where Megatron has upgraded into Galvatron via the Cyber Sleeves during a critical battle against his past self/Clone Megaplex, the current leader of the Cybertron bound Decepticons.

Termagax has a role in this as well, one of the Earthbound Decepticons and a member of GHOST.

The child is Ethan Meridian, Mandroid’s only remaining child, and his buddy Triplex, Combined triplet Terrans bonded to him. Ethan is one of several kids that also got captured and installed in CyberWorld, alongside Robby Malto, Grahm Witwicky, Jason Dean, Dan Braverman, Daniel Witwicky, Maddie Witwicky, Nucle-Ai, Meister and more.

The Skybound Decepticons are unique interpretations to make them more toyetic and use lesser known GI Joe and Cobra vehicles besides HISS Tanks.

The first look at the Cyberworld cartoon with a set release date, July 12! The teaser makes it sound like it’s the Gundam Build Fighters of Transformers, a thin plot that’s more an excuse for different generations of robots to go at it.

This also means that with the July 12 release date, Earthspark is dead.
