ARCANE WRITERS EXPLORE VIS MENTAL HEALTH AND TRAUMA CHALLENGE

If you really think about it Vi has never had the time to process her truama properly( I mean she’s literally been in fight or flight mode since she was like 7) and I’d love to see them explore that more in depths with how it would change her as a person but also how it would impact her actions. Would she be less guarded, not be a prone to fighting

We’ve seen how she handles mental breakdowns ( with alcohol and fighting, which kinda mimics her childhood surroundings. With her dad owning a bar and her constantly fighting) she automatically diverts her attention to the one thing she is 1 good at plus has known since she was very young. It’s almost like her comfort of sorts ( once again very BAD comfort she is not mentally OKAY)

But when you think about her and what she’s been through, it’s too much for a young mind to handle ( as we saw with jinx)

First she’s thrown into a prison, beat, tortured and isolated for god knows how long. By the time she’d process what has happened more would be on the horizon ( as we know she got beat almost daily) plus it probably lead to some stint in her development either mentally or physically ( which is a whole other can of worms to process)

then when she FINALLY gets out she learns her sister is a war criminal, her uncle has drugged the under city, she gets stabbed and beat up repeatedly, almost dies, gets kidnapped, mentally tortured and then witnesses her sister commit and act of terrorism

The only time in the show she could of mentally processed what she’s been through is the weeks after the attack on the council ( since she was staying with Cait * it’s assumed) but I doubt she would have since she was probably too busy making sure Cait was okay plus thinking about how to stop jinx. Or when’s she was a pitfighter but as we saw, she just drunk her issues away and when she felt that anger towards people she went and fought individuals who had no connect to that feeling, just to have an ounce of control over her mental state.

I’m getting the sense too that she was only taught how to protect others and not herself. She’s kinda self destructive ( in the nature of getting into usless fight, putting her self in danger and being impulsive) she doesn’t know what to do when mentally crashing, she doesn’t really know how to read her emotions properly and that leads to her impulsiveness because she thinks she’s feeling a specific way and thus acts upon that feeling. Not taking the time to process her emotion and figure out her thoughts!

I just think Vi is the most interesting character in arcane when you REALLY sit down and study her character. So much underling lore exists to her when you dig deep into her actions specifically and I’m so sad the writers didn’t focus on that this season. They could make her one of the MOST complex characters but just stick with “anger issues and she likes to fight” but they never explore WHY she does those things. I know a lot of it is *show and not tell* and as I said if you actually use your brain you can figure this out and use just general knowledge. their putting to much trust in the viewer to read between the lines. When most just wanna be told what’s going on and how characters feel or think.

Okay yeah but the same time you shouldn't be fucking messaging someone's mom while their going through a divorce just so you can talk bad about their son, and you shouldn't be sending porn in a server THAT YOU KNOW MINORS HAVE EASY ACCESS TO.

Just because she was going through something difficult doesn’t mean she can’t still deal with adult issues. He was getting bullied and harassed by an old friend, told that friend how upset and uncomfortable it made him and they still didn’t stop, dream knew his mum would have seen all the backlash? Since she always defends his ass on twitter. So why can’t dream talk to her about how her kids actions aren’t right?? She still needs to parent her fucking kid even if she’s personally going through something. Going through a hard time doesn’t give you a reason to be awful? Or for parents to let their children get away with also being awful people.

Also before you say it, no I don’t think dream should have said the R slur, but it did not warrant tommy and his entire friend group making up lies, and starting a ducking hate campaign

I cant get over the fact that no matter what Vi doesn’t get to have her happy ending

She just wanted zaun to be a better place for her family. She either pays that price with her life, or doesn’t get it at all

I know she ended up with Cait and I’m so glad she was able to find love with her and start a brand new life with her. That I HOPE is good for her

I just can’t look at young vi the same now, knowing she doesn’t get the life she wanted and has to live without the person who kept her going. Vi lived to protect and care for her family, and even after she did all she could, she still ended up loosing them

It’s just so heartbreaking to see her not get her desired ending in any universe.

Like look at her :( imagine having to tell her she never gets to spend her life with powder, she’d be devastated

Adding onto this, I feel like people care WAY too much about what others ship and do in the fandom. If it’s not problematic or hurting anyone then why does it matter??

Just find your small circle of people who enjoy what you do and stick with them. It’s much happier and healthier environment

And as you said if people can choose to ignore already cannon ships, then they should be allowed to also not ship lost-shipping. I know some people will say it’s different because it’s a queer ship, which yes that is a point. But if the reason they don’t ship it isn’t a homophobic one then I don’t see a problem. Some people how OCs others just prefer lava or bruise for example.

Also idk if I’m the only one who noticed, but all people seem to care about with cole is who they can ship him with ( this goes for all people who ship cole with someone ) They don’t talk about how kind and compassionate he is, how silly and goofy he can be. His love and devotion to his family. They just kinda see him as this object to throw into the new ship. I hate how he’s just the token single character who the fandom just ignores outside of shipping

I’m sorry but if people are allowed to ignore Jaya/Pixane/Kailor, I think it’s fine to ignore Lost. Especially since **AT THIS CURRENT MOMENT** they are probably the least compelling ship on the board right now. Hoping they get some development in season 3, but they are kind of just a pairing that exists for me at this point.

Yes exactly, I have so much respect for him because of the amount of times he’s had shit throw at him and kept his grace.

He knows what it feels like to be the person on the other end, so much of his personal life has been exposed due to others, so why would he willingly put someone else in that position? No matter how much they seemingly “deserve it”

I’m a full believer in karma and and I’m sure these people will get their dues. But I don’t think we should be wishing harm on others, or speculating on who’s said/done what, it doesn’t make us look good as a community and then that reflects on dream!

Of course people can be wary, and dislike certain ccs for turning their back on the dteam. But I don’t think that’s all we should focus on anymore

My opinion on DR S2 PT

While I did somewhat enjoy this part, I feel like in the grand scheme of the story it didn’t add anything??

There’s so many plot lines made and abandoned in just this part alone, never mind the rest of the seasons. I genuinely don’t understand what direction their trying to take the story?

The end of s2 Ras makes his temple disappear and we’re shown slightly his master, the story makes it seem like the next part will be focusing on finding him and taking him down fully, but then it’s only mentioned once in the entirety of pt2 at the very beginning. When I think it would have been a way more entertaining concept for this seaosn?? Plus it would actually flow better?

Not to mention Season 2 flows so badly compared to 1. At least s1 their facing the same villain for both parts, and then come to a conclusion.

I just feel like we’re at a stand still in the story. Pt2 barely added anything to the plot except for the 5 new villains now being free……. There was no conclusion to the story

Idk I just wanna know if anyone else feels the same, s1 had me so hopefull especially the last few episodes, but s2 has me really questioning the writers even more, it just feels like they don’t know what they wanna do so their creating loads of different plot lines and just following the one they have the best idea for?? Then just Leaving the other at a dead end

YESS!! As much as I love romantic finnrey, I would have loved if they stayed friends but writers really focused on their friendship and how strong it was! Separating them for the whole of TLJ was foul! Especially since they’d just built up their entire relationship in TFA and made them LITERALLY CHOOSE EACHOTHER OVER BEING “free”

Her getting with Kylo just felt like a betrayal to everything she stood for and did!? And even if he redeemed himself I just never saw that much chemistry between them ( and this is coming from a multishipper who likes reylo)

With finnrey it’s palpable from the very start like HELLO the line “and you looked at me like no one ever had”, even when we’re supposed to ship reylo I can’t help but find my self preferring the finrey moments.

One again people always want their to be a victim! By withholding accountability from caiti and fully blaming others it makes her look like one! When everyone in that room INCLUDING caiti had a responsibility that night!

been browsing the reddit and there is an interesting point they bring up that i think a lot of people are afraid of pointing out for fear of coming off as victim blaming. and its the fact that people are very quick to dismiss accountability on caitis side, with most people pinning it all on her friends. and im guilty of this too but theyre not wrong in that caiti deliberately chose to word her first stream like that, she chose to leave information out/lie, and she chose to share that screenshot even though it was fake and said nothing to clear it up. even if her friends have influenced her, she still chose to go through with it. her friends did not hold her at gunpoint and force her to do those things. and i guess its because i was thinking about the framing of "freshly 18" and the way that people are accusing george of sexually assaulting a "young girl". like we pushed back on those things because 18 is an adult, she's not a child and infantilizing her is weird in an attempt to smear george. but i think by pinning all the blame on her friends, we kinda circle back around to making it seem like shes just a helpless little girl who cant make decisions on her own. and i 100% understand that her pain couldve caused these things, maybe she really didnt remember things well, maybe she was afraid if it didnt sound bad enough no one would take her seriously, i dont know. and i empathize with that but also she needlessly demonized a man to a wild extend and i do think she needs to take responsibility for not portraying things faithfully at some point. being hurt doesnt excuse you from hurting others. saying that caiti made mistakes too can coexist with her being hurt by what george did that night.

really well-worded anon and i think this last bit really sums up everything. Caiti was not a silent, non-moving piece of this situation. She was the one who consciously made the choice to stream, use that specific extreme language, initially withhold proof, not verify screenshot sources, not talk to george privately first, etc. and while she can be hurt by what happened and possibly have made poor choices in response to what happened, it does not absolve her of any responsibility for this chaotic fallout.

I don't think that is victim blaming, i think that's honestly just not convincing yourself that the way she handled this and the things she did were perfect.

For me, I don’t care about blogs who don’t watch/don’t like certain ccs anymore - heck I have lost all interest in some of them myself since they turned on/said crap about dteam. And I also think it’s fine and understandable for those blogs to talk about stuff/neg when it happens and to not like them anymore after that. But.. the constant ’hate talk’ on the other hand. Where when those ccs do just about anything at all - they shit on them/make fun of them for it (cough Karl cough). And it’s not even little jabs or anything, it’s straight up vile some of the shit I’ve seen (on popular blogs too) - ’Karl should khs’ ’Hugging him will probably give you a disease’ - fucking cheering when he got hit by a car and saying they hope another one gets the job done.. like joke or not, it’s actually insane to me how normalized the hate is on here for him specifically. I’ve had to block so many blogs for that. Like fine you hate him a lot, is your blog even about dteam though or about Karl, you know? And it’s also funny to me how many of them are still big fans of Tina and Foolish who actually love the guy you say this crap about 🙄 Not to mention Dteam themselves who would not like this kind of talk about any of their friends (former or not). - Cole and Vania write letters to eachother due to communication between ninjago and shintaro being difficult

- Vania likes to bake chocolate cake for cole when he visits her

- vania once snuck away for a weekend so cole could show her around Ninjago city

- Vania doesn’t like chocolate (because they don’t usually have it in shintaro) but she makes sure to keep some for cole

- their favourite thing to do when Cole visits shintaro is spending time in the palace gardens, Vania usually reads one of her many books on the ninja cole lays his head on her lap and listens

- cole braids Vanias hair

- even tho Vania is queen Cole’s fav nickname to use is princess (trying to make him calling her princess in crystallised something good 💀)

- cole brings Vania hydrangeas everytime he sees her (their her fav flower and are the ones used to commemorate her mother by her statue)

I’m re watching dreamzzz and I can’t believe their supposed to be like 12yrs old?? I thought they were at least 14-15 and Izzy and mateo were twins when I first watched it😭 because that would be so cute

So here’s my dreamzz head cannon that goes against actual lore

-mateo and Izzy are twins, their 14 (maybe 15)

-Logan and cooper are 15

- Zoey is 17 (shes been held back a couple years)

- lunia is mateo and Izzy’s mum, the reason she passed is because she used all he strength in the dream world to keep the NM king at bay but she wasn’t strong enough and eventually used all her power up, leading her to have to use her waking world body. She ended up getting sick (like what happened to cooper) but she couldn’t be helped

- nova and Izzy are best friends and had weekly ninjago marathons before the NM kings attacks

- cooper and Logan are low key dating, but also aren’t because Logan also has a crush on mateo but he doesn’t know it yet (he kinda realises when mateo comes to save him from the NM long)

- zblob if he wasn’t a dream creature would be a dog

- mr oz knows lunia is mateo and Izzy’s mum but doesn’t want to tell them because he feels like they will give up dream crafting if they found out
