Hello,

So I have a couple domains registered at namecheap.com and they are both hosted on shared starter at dreamhost.com this leads to a couple of questions.

What are the possible outcomes of using namecheap’s basicDNS nameservers instead of dreamhost nameservers? Dreamhost’s support info says there will be an issue if/when dreamhost were to move my site in their servers thereby changing my site’s IP address. Are there other issues that can stem from using namecheap’s basicDNS with dreamhost shared hosting? (This would be the easiest solution but might cause future issues.)

Since dreamhost uses their proprietary panel, this has made the free function of email forwarding through cPanel impossible. Is their another way to add email forwarding? Through MX records?

I want to have email forwarding for both my sites but I would like to keep expenses to a minimum. I understand if I upgrade my dreamhost service I would get the email forwarding function but that is double the cost. There has to be a free way to do it right? Thanks for the help.

Email Forwarding and Nameservers

Hello,
