My mom nixed the lemons so now I’m gonna smell like cinnamon for the rest of my life (<- exaggeration)
#pika’s ramblings#okay for context. I cleaned out my closet which my mom was using for storage in order to hang my clothes there#and free up space in my room#(this plan isn’t going very well. everything’s moved and now my drawers store extra blankets and my books but now that I’ve moved it#one corner of my room is very cluttered and the other corner is Extremely Barren. and I’m probably going to move it back soon so I’ve just#got a couple more square feet to roll my chair around at the end of it huh)#ANYWAY back on topic.#Two Ginormous Crickets Hopped Out While I Was Cleaning.#thank god my dad was home because he was willing to kill and dispose of them for me#so now im worried about crickets and cricket eggs and whatever right. so I ask my youngest brother if it’s true that crickets are repelled#by the scent of lemon#he says yeah they are and im like great! I love citrus scents so not only will this solve the cricket problem but also my clothes will smell#like lemon :) and then my mom gets home and I float the idea of putting a bowl of lemon juice or lemon water in there and she immediately#says to use cinnamon instead#and like. I get it. it’s effective and the scent lasts longer + I don’t have to worry about the moisture in the closet#or replacing it often since cinnamon is Literally Tree Bark#but I don’t really like the scent of cinnamon :( I associate it with Christmas and I also don’t really like Christmas
