I think that something so interesting about Gumball and Darwin’s dynamic is what they each consider to be the other’s worst quality. It’s the thing they mock the other for they get in fights, like in ��The Sidekick”.

Gumball thinks Darwin’s worst quality is that he’s an indecisive pushover. Darwin thinks Gumball’s worst qualities are that that he’s arrogant and self-absorbed. And I think that does a really good job highlighting one of each of their values; Gumball values confidence and Darwin values kindness.

Idk, it’s just a good way that the writers developed the characters, and I think it’s cool.
