The total percentage of both exams I and II in a particular subject (corresponding to the number of places achieved) determines the eligibility criteria for selecting assistant professors in that subject. All other subject-specific eligibility limits are determined in the same manner.

JEE Main 2021: How does NTA secure the exam?

Joint Entrance Exam (Main), one of India's most important and anticipated competitive exams, is also one of the most challenging exams for aspirants all over the country. The test will be conducted in a computer-based testing (CBT) format by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This prevents the question paper from getting leaked or hacked. This security measure is very essential and protects the question paper from malpractices.

What is the procedure for creating a question paper?

The individuals responsible for setting the question papers construct their respective question papers in accordance with the NTA's requirements. Each of them submits their own question paper to the agency, along with the answer key. The answers and solutions also include supporting sources/books that can be referenced later to back up their solutions. All of the questions formed have a particular difficulty level, and are sorted subject wise with an author's tag. The computer will then select the questions depending on the selection of the board of individuals assigned to form the question paper. This method can be fully automated and random, or it can be overseen by a person or group of people and can be based on the number of questions from a specific chapter and the overall difficulty level.

What is the format of the exam?

During the exam, each student's biometrics and photographs are taken. According to NTA, a student can only mark attendance by presenting a passport-size photo (from the most recent year), imprinting his or her left thumb, and signing the form. This personal information is gathered in order to prevent any kind of shady entry. The live footage from the exam hall cameras is sent to city centres, which are then watched by state observers. NTA also transmits live feeds from each exam centre in its headquarters, where vigilantes keep an eye on everything that happens. The computers are programmed to read cheating trends during the exam, according to the officials, such as too quick answering, too sluggish answering, two students taking a similar amount of time for answering questions or similar answers, and so on. We conduct weekly test to evaluate the performance level of the students in all the 2 papers of UGC NET exams.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

The eligibility for this Test is at least 55% marks in Master's Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC. For Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with disability (PWD) category the eligibility is at least 50% marks in Master's degree or equivalent examinations.

Candidates who have passed out or the candidates who are in the last semester of Master's degree and whose result is awaited may also apply for the Test. The condition is that such candidates must complete their P.G. degree examination within two years from the date of NET result with required criteria. Provisional admission will be given and candidate shall be considered eligible for award of JRF/Lectureship eligibility after they have passed their Master's degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of SC/ST/PWD). Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation & related subject only.

It is mandatory for the candidates who come under SC/OBC/ST have to submit attested copy of the category Certificate. In case of any ineligibility being detected by the Commission, their admission will be canceled and they will be liable for legal action.

NET/JRF EXAMINATION SCHEDULE:

UGC conducts NET twice a year, i.e., in the months of June/July and December/January.

SCHEME AND DATE OF TEST:

The Test will start from 21 June 2019 & December Third week.

Paper-1-It consist 50 objective type questions of Reasoning, Comprehension, Divergent Thinking, Teaching Aptitude, Research Methodology and general awareness. Each question is of two marks.

Paper-II shall consist of 100 objective questions related to the optional subject selected by the candidate. Each question is of 2 marks. All questions of this paper are compulsory.

The candidates have to mark answers on online mode Exam.
