Master The Art Of Bb And Cc Creams With These 5 Products
Everybody fantasies of velvety skin, but this isn't an easy task. Luckily it is possible to mask imperfections and give them a vivid, even complexion through many choices. The tinted moisturizers might not serve the purpose sometimes. The most effortless and in-between alternative that acts as a beauty or a blemish balm is popularly termed as BB cream. It has skin benefits too, like imparting SPF and antioxidants. For a light foundation like coverage, CC cream is a better choice, which is essentially a colour correcting cream. It hides the hyperpigmentation, redness, and blotched skin. CC creams are not just for camouflage, they are ideal for fixing the skin issues. We have compiled some popular choices of BB and CC creams to help you select the best with the least efforts.
Cle De Peau Intensive Fortifying Cream
Tumblr media
Cle De Peau Intensive Fortifying Cream is an extraordinarily rich anti-aging cream that provides extreme moisture overnight while restoring skin to a radiant glow every morning from everyday damage. Developed with the iconic ingredient Skin-Empowering Illuminator fuelled by delicate Platinum Golden Silk, it strengthens the skin's ability to protect itself against different forms of radiant skin stress. It thoroughly nourishes skin with rich moisture overnight for enhanced radiant skin by morning and helps strengthen skin from inside reducing the presence of fine lines for a clearly plump and solid skin.
It helps shield against pressures, the Ground breaking Skin-Empowering Illuminator activates skin knowledge. This luxurious anti-aging night cream improves the strength of skins each morning for a vibrant glow. It helps reinforce the skin while preserving it from regular degradation and dryness for a flawless, refined finish. The skin becomes increasingly bright and healthy-looking over time with consistent use.
Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Foundation Stick
Tumblr media
This Lancôme foundation stick is a super compact strong formulation that is crafted with buildable coverage to be long-wearing. From makeup to concealer or as a contour stick, it has many applications.
It is oil-free and blends seamlessly to the effect of a traceless second-skin. It is suited to all forms of skin including allergic skin. The base leaves a matte finish free of glare which clearly appears to help decrease the presence of redness. For all-day convenience, the formula claims to be smudge-resistant. It also has a broad range SPF 15 which can help guard against UVB rays.
The product has a texture of powder-crème and is fragrance-free. The wrapping is an elegant, black lipstick-like bullet with gold lettering and winding up the handle. It comes with a huge range of 20 shades, from beige porcelain to coffee.
Clinique Even Better Brighter Moisture Cream
Tumblr media
Clinique Even Better Brighter Moisture Cream is a cream that provides intense hydration while also providing skin brightening benefits. You get an even-toned look with a UVA/UVB defence that shields the skin from future darkening. This vital skin care provides healing moisture as advanced ingredients break apart and exfoliate the darkening of the body, exposing dazzling beauty. This is a dense moisturiser that the skin takes a little longer to consume. However, once it's all in, it doesn't feel too heavy. It's suggested for combination skin to very dry skin.
Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv Ultra Radiance Lifting Creme Makeup
Tumblr media
Re-Nutriv Ultra Radiance Lifting Creme Makeup is quite a thick foundation and feels creamy on the skin but is pretty light. It supports even the most mature skin types, setting it an ideal option to cover the age marks. It is a creamy foundation that feels like a soufflé. It leaves the skin with a satin finish and gives medium coverage. Higher coverage can be built, but the more you lay this on your face, the more it begins to show, especially around the nose. It is recommended to stick to a thin layer of it and mix it well because it leaves the skin with a lovely but natural finish.
Lancome Absolue Bx Makeup Foundation SPF18
Tumblr media
This lightweight, revolutionary makeup foundation which visibly "lifts" facial skin, blurring lines and wrinkles for up to 12 hours, is known to repair the pigmented skin.  The silicone-free formula contains spherical additives which hold pigments elevated on the surface of the skin and is suitable for all skin types. The application is easy as the formula has the perfect consistency that enables it to glide on your skin even with the fingers. Finish it with a loose powder and you’re sorted for the day’s most effortless sheer look.

Current Beauty Routine
This request made from @NatsumiAjisaka on twitter on my current beauty routine. My current skin is normal/dry with some sensitive areas like my cheeks. Common skin concerns are hormonal acne, dullness, and hyperpigmentation.
Any questions on the below, happy to answer. Feel free to inbox me.
SKINCARE
My skin has drastically changed since from high school. Then, I had a simpler routine that literally consisted of Cetaphil Cleanser, Biore Triple Action Astringent (the green one before they reformulated it), and Aveeno Ultracalming Moisturizer SPF 15. That’s it. My skin was super clear with the occasional hormonal acne.
In college and even adulthood, my skin took a turn for the worse. My skin started to get bored of my routine and stress took a huge toll. I developed acne around my chin and mouth area and I am currently combating a lot of scarring/redness. I was on a good birth control pill that evened my skintone out however I found the side effects too extreme. Currently debating if I should find another pill with lesser side effects but that’s still tbd.
1/ Cleanser: Big fan of removing makeup with cleansing oils. My fav in college was L’Occitane Shea Cleansing Oil ($24) but recently my skin has been enjoying Organic Jojoba Oil (~$10). Once makeup is removed, I lather on Drunk Elephant Pekee Cleanser Bar ($28). The struggle was out there to find a cleanser that was PH balanced, sans fragrance, and doesn’t strip my skin too much.
2/Exfoliants: Over the years, I’ve gotten pretty sophisticated with chemical exfoliants. In high school, I was a HUGE fan of the St. Ives Apricot Scrub (everyone and their mother was) although it was incredibly abrasive to my sensitive skin. Even a clarisonic was a huge waste and made my skin feel dull af. Chemical exfoliants are the only products that truly restore the natural glow in my face sans highlighter. Luckily, I was reading a skincare blog (forgot the name) and it mentioned BHA and AHA exfoliants. Life changing shit. My favs are Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid (%28) and Drunk Elephant TLC Framboose Glycolic Night Serum ($90).  Honorable mention: Mizon AHA and BHA Daily Toner ($18). I prefer to use these products 1-2 a week. My skin can get exhausted when I use too many exfoliants. I tend to use the PC BHA Liquid more on my problem areas like t-zone and cheeks whereas I like to use the glycolic acid all over.
3/Moisturizer: In the winter, I was lathering on Organic Jojoba Oil (the winter exacerbates my dry patches). I also rotate in The Ordinary The Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA ($5.80) into my routine during the summer. It’s a simple, non-greasy formula and so cheap.
4/Sunscreen: I once read an article in a Harper’s Bazaar mag that my mom used to subscribe to about this woman who religiously used SPF 50 from her teens to now her 60s and looked so so young. Sunscreen became a religious part of my routine - I felt naked if I forgot it.  My OG favorite is Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion WetForce Broad Spectrum SPF 50 ($40). I am currently using (since I am broke) Aveeno Active Naturals SPF 50 ($9). It’s pretty good and non-comedogenic.
BEAUTY
I don’t think my makeup routine has changed drastically since high school like my skincare. Growing up, my mother hardly wore makeup. If she did, she always sported a simple bare face and lipstick.
Brows - my favorite feature on my face is my brows (thnx genetics). I credit my mother for not making me pluck my brow hairs AT ALL in the early 2000s when everyone and their mother did. She always knew that the natural brows would come back into trend. She was (is always) right. My brow philosophy is to do a nice bushy brow. I use Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pencil in Dark Brown ($21) and MAC Clear Brow Gel ($18). I pencil in the sparse areas of my brow which are mostly the ends and use the brow gel to set in in place.
Primer: not a huge fan of using primers. I tend to concentrate on my t-zone and other areas where I have a lot of pores. I love the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer (trial size $21) and Benefit Pore-Fessional ($31).
Foundation: for the work week, I don’t like to slather on too much makeup. My favorite foundation base for work is NARS Tinted Moisturizer in Alaska ($45). If I am going out, I’ll use Make Up Forever HD Foundation ($42) in shade 115 and 117. Concealer - I’ll use Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer ($48) for overal spot treatment and NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($30). For poder, I use a Lancome one which I forgot the name of.
Blush: I’m obsessed with Milani Luminoso ($8). I used to be indifferent to blush since my cheeks have a normal flush to them and I spend a long of time concealing the redness. A light swatch Milani Luminoso gives me the perfect about of glow from within without it looking to obvious. My fav cream formula is Illamasqua Cream Blusher in Promise ($31).
Eyes: Confession - I’m not really into eyeshadow. If there’s one beauty product I could go without it’s that. I’ve bought two palettes in my entire life: Naked 2 and ABH Modern Renaissance. Which both are very great on their own however, I find myself using them less. I like to take a simple transition shade from either palettes to define my crease. For eyeliner, I use Mac Longwear Fluid Line ($17) and a simple angeled brush to draw a nice thin line. I haven’t been using eyeliner lately - too lazy. For mascara, I am enjoying Benefit Roller Lash ($24).
Highlighter/Contour/Bronzer: Must admit, I don’t use any of these products everyday. If I could chose a fav on the list, it would be highlighter. I am so glad we live in the era of extravagant highlighters. I have too many highlighters but my absolute favorite, one that I’ve hit pan before is Laura Mercier Radiance Baked Powder in Highlighter 01 ($42). It is the most natural, lit from within highlighter on the market. For a more dramatic effect, i use a liquid highlighter that I once bought from target (forgot the brand name) and layer Laura Mercier powder on top. For contour, I like ashy, cooler tone colors. Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder ($44) in light does me wonders. For bronzer, I like to lightly use NARS Sun Washing Diffusing Bronzer in Seaside ($40).
HAIRCARE
Hair is so important to me. I was born with coarse, frizzy, wavy hair. Which is both a blessing and curse. When I was younger, it was so difficult to tame my hair. My favorite hairstyle is the bomb shell, ultra volume blow out. Think 90s Supermodel esque type hair. I use L’Oreal Sulfate Free Shampoo + Conditioner which has done wonders for my hair and it’s pretty affordable. For styling I love: Bumble and Bumble Styling Creme ($26), Ouai Dry Shampoo Foam, and  Ouai Dry Texturizing Spray. In addition to the traditional blow out, I have also started getting into using hot rollers for more volume and lift.

Hey doll hey!!! How is your day/night going? Great I hope. I woke up seriously late today and really didn’t feel like doing anything when I got up. I really wasn’t feeling like doing my makeup but hubby encouraged me to at least try. Everything that could go wrong… went wrong with this makeup today. My brows wouldn’t cooperate, I have patchiness all over the skin, and the foundation I thought I was getting in the mail wasn’t the foundation I wanted. I wanted the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Dewy foundation and what I ended up ordering was the original one…. not to mention that it was the wrong shade, way too light for me. I ended up throwing it out and ordering the correct foundation. I smeared black eyeliner all over my cheek and had to clean that up, my lashes wouldn’t stay down, my eyeliner got out of hand, and wont stick to the inner corners because I got glue on them…. Today just wasn’t a good makeup day at all and I started not to do a post on today’s look because I just am not happy with it, but then I thought…. for our beginners… that it would be nice to see that not everyday is a good makeup day and that not everyday is a great application day either….. so here it is. Well let’s get into the Face of the Day ….
Base: To prime my face I used Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Dewy Face Primer ($5.99 at Ulta). I color corrected using Tarte CC Undereye Corrector ($25 at Ulta) in the shade Light-Medium. My foundation is Wet N Wild PhotoFocus Foundation ($2.79 at Walmart) in the shade Nude Ivory. I concealed my under eyes using Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Concealer ($4.49 at Ulta) in the shade Fair Neutral. I set my face using Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder ($39 at Sephora) in the shade Translucent. I really went in hard to warm up my face to try and deepen up the complexion using Revolution Beauty Bronzer Reloaded ($6 on their website and on sale at Ulta for $4.49) in the shade Take a Vacation. I set my under eyes and baked my jaw line, bridge of the nose, and center of the forehead using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 at the Beautylish website).
Eyes: I primed the lids using NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 at Sephora) int eh shade Medium 1 Custard and set that using more Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder. For today’s look I used the ColourPop All That Palette ($18 on their website). As my transition color I used the shade Come Thru (mid-toned pink with hot pink reflect sequin shadow). In my crease and on the and outer 1/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade Wink Wink (a dusty red matte). On the inner 2/3 of the mobile lid I used the shade BB Girl (a true baby pink matte). I then went in with the shade Silhouette (a muted burgundy matte) to deepen the outer v. I created a drop shadow on the lower lash line using more of Wink Wink and then deepened the lash line with more of Silhouette. I highlighted the inner corners using a combination of Risque (an icy pink with silver reflect metallic) and Urban Decay Single Shadow ($20 at Ulta) in the shade Urban Cowboy. I created a winged liner on the upper lash line at first using ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the shade Swerve (a deep black). I popped on my KoKo lashes in the style Queen B ($7.99 on the Lady Moss website) and then went over the winged liner using Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum ($8.79 at Target) in the shade Ultra Black. I then tight lined the upper lash line using BH Cosmetics Power Pencil ($8 on their website) in the shade black. Because I got glue on the inner corner of my mobile lid I had to go back in using Stila Smudge Pot ($20 on the Beautylish website) in the shade black to deepen that part of the lash line. I lined my lower waterline with ColourPop BFF Creme Gel Liner ($6 on their website) in the shade Get Paid (rose gold metallic). Part of the Smudge Pot transferred to my lower lash line so I took a little more of the Smudge Pot and smudged it into my lower lash line all the way to the corners. I did the soap brow technique and filled in my brows using ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil ($5 on their website) and then I set the brows down using Pixi By Petra Brow Tamer ($10 at Target) and I think I may have used too much soap at the start because the brow pencil kept lifting off the tails, so I went in with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo ($23 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Dark Brown. I carved out my brow line using BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set that using the shade Uncuffed (a pale baby pink matte). For mascara I used Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black ($6.79 at Target).
Cheeks and Lips: For blush today I am using Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-HR Blush ($29 at Ulta and Sephora) in the shade Blushing Bride (a rosey pink matte). I highlighted the tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, center of the forehead, and Cupid’s Bow using Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder ($44 at Sephora) in the shade Highlight-01. I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (regularly $6 on sale for $4.20 on their website) in the shade Oh Sis (a smokey paprika) and filled in the lips using BH Cosmetics X It’s My Raye Raye Lipstick (was a limited edition lipstick no longer offered) in the shade Rosey Raye (a warm coral pink cream).
Final Thoughts:
Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Dewy Face Primer: A+++!!!!                                                            DUPE ALERT!!! This is a spot on dupe for the Marc Jacobs Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter in the shade Dew You. It’s got the same shimmer, the same shade, and the same shine. This is a great primer. I really like it, I have ordered a back up.
Wet N Wild PhotoFocus Foundation: B-                                                                                            I just don’t like this formula anymore. It leaves my face looking flat, and around the nose, and lip area it lifts away too easy. I have decluttered the new shade I purchased.
Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Concealer:C                                                                                           This is a medium coverage concealer. It’s a bit drying. It just feels stiff under the eyes. It’s just an OK concealer. Not my favorite but not the worst by any means.
Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder: A+++!!!!                                                               I was testing this one out to see if I would declutter it or not. I keep forgetting just how beautiful this highlighter is on my face. It’s not glittery and it’s not too gleaming. It’s the perfect highlighter for work or school. It’s a very subtle lit from within glow. I will not be decluttering this one from my collection.
Well that’s all dolls. I hope you have a great rest of your day/night and I hope that the day finds you in good spirits. I do have several items I ordered to review for you coming this week, so stay tuned. In the mean time this is the last Valentine’s Day look I will create… I’m ready for a new palette (ha ha). Hope for those of you who are spoonies that you are having a low pain/ high energy day/night. Remember save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO
