but they are parents who believe she's already dead.

with their mourning glances and whispered "sorry"s as they kiss her forehead when they think shes asleep.

kanako knows shes already dead.

she was not made to last. she was not meant to live a peaceful life. not with her soul, not with the underground's expectations that she will grow into a monster stronger than asgore himself. she will see the hell her parents has shielded her from the moment she looses her stripes and enters the "training" asgore had planned even before she was conceived.

until one day, that changes.

until one day, her father starts looking at her with something new: hope.

like she was the future.

like she was the answer.

like she wasn't their beloved child who was born to die.

but he wouldn't tell her what it was. when she asked, he almost seemed fearful.

it wasn't until she snuck into the laboratory, and she found him speaking to a little human girl her age did she know what her true purpose finally was.
