15 Superhero Games That Should Never Have Been Canceled
https://ift.tt/3yhDWFZ
We’ve been blessed with a surprising number of great superhero video games over the years. From Batman for the NES to The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and Marvel’s Spider-Man, developers have often shown superheroes the love it took them years to consistently receive in other mediums.
Yet, I understand why it’s so easy to focus on the superhero games we almost got rather than the ones that we did get. There’s an entire section of gaming’s digital graveyard devoted to canceled superhero games, and it’s filled with projects that could have been contenders or, at the very least, would have given comic book fans everywhere the chance to spend time with characters that still haven’t gotten a proper video game adaptation to this day.
So brace yourself for disappointment as we look at what could have been and 15 of the most notable superhero games that should never have been canceled.
15. X-Women: The Sinister Virus
As the name suggests, X-Women was based on the idea that all the male X-Men team members have been incapacitated by the Genesis Virus. It’s not only an interesting concept that would have put characters like Storm and Jean Grey in the spotlight, but the project was even being developed by Clockwork Tortoise: the studio behind the excellent Sega Genesis version of The Adventures of Batman & Robin. This game seemingly had a lot going for it.
So why was it canceled? Well, according to those who worked on the project in the late ‘90s, X-Women got off to a rough start that it never really recovered from. A combination of technical shortcomings, studio drama, and Sega’s desire to start moving away from the 16-bit era pretty much doomed this game before it ever had a chance to become more than some vague ideas.
14. Spider-Man 4
Well, the name of this game should probably give you a hint as to why it was eventually canceled. It is, after all, hard to make a game based on Sam Raimi’s fourth Spider-Man movie when Sam Raimi’s fourth Spider-Man movie was, itself, eventually canceled.
Interestingly, though, a working version of the Spider-Man 4 prototype was discovered on an old Nintendo Wii devkit in 2019. While it’s obviously not fair to judge a half-finished prototype too harshly, everything we’ve seen of this game suggests it would have been…pretty much just ok. It’s doubtful we missed out on anything better than a pretty good rental when this one was eventually canceled.
13. Marvel Chaos
I’ve actually heard conflicting reports about this game over the years, but most accounts of its development suggest Marvel Chaos was supposed to be a Marvel fighting game modeled after the Def Jam series. Needless to say, that idea had a lot of potential.
That makes it all the more depressing that nearly every report about this game’s development agrees that it was canceled simply because it wasn’t very good. EA decided to cancel this project rather than invest more money in it, which ultimately led to EA Chicago’s closure and the end of EA and Marvel’s partnership (at least for a time).
12. Superman 64 (PS1)
Apologies for the confusing title, but it’s pretty hard to talk about this game without eventually getting around to the fact that it was essentially supposed to be the PS1 port of the infamously bad Superman 64. However, because the PS1 couldn’t quite handle some of the free-roaming mechanics featured in the N64 game, this port was essentially redesigned by developer BlueSky Software to be its own thing.
Do you know what’s really funny? A recently leaked prototype of this canceled game suggests that it actually might have been kind of fun. At the very least, this port’s emphasis on linear combat looks a lot more enjoyable than…whatever Superman 64 was going for. In a world where most Superman games are bad, it’s a shame this one didn’t get the chance to at least be decent.
11. Marvel Universe Online
An MMORPG set in the Marvel universe made by the City of Heroes team? How did this game ever get canceled when it’s seemingly a license to print money that might actually be more valuable today than ever before?
Well, some reports suggest this game simply wasn’t coming along as quickly as some hoped it would, but according to Microsoft, the game was ultimately canceled largely because they looked at how every non-WoW MMO on the market at that time was performing and felt that Marvel Universe Online had a slim chance of making enough money to justify everyone’s investments.
10. The Flash
The rise of the open-world genre has also meant the rise of superhero fans wondering why more game developers just don’t put their favorite characters in an open-world playground. That formula has certainly worked numerous times in the past, and it could have also worked for this Flash game that developer Brash Entertainment worked on starting in the mid-2000s.
While Brash went under in 2008, they took this potentially amazing project with them. Reports about this game’s development, as well as some early test footage, suggest it was an appropriately fast-paced open-world epic that dove deep into the Flash’s lore and even featured a kind of Sunset Overdrive-style navigation system that would have let The Flash pull off elaborate tricks. Someone really needs to mine this project for its best ideas and revive them in some form.
9. The Dark Knight
We’ve talked about this game extensively in the past, but what you really need to know is that there was supposed to be a game based on Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight film and that game was shaping up to be pretty ambitious for a licensed title intended to debut alongside the film.
Unfortunately, The Dark Knight’s ambition may have gotten the best of it. The game missed its initial release windows and was ultimately determined to be more trouble than it was worth. While I’d still love to play this game, I don’t know if it would have been nearly as brilliant as Rocksteady’s Arkham series.
8. Green Lantern (SNES)
Aside from cameos in DC fighting titles and the so-so Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters, the Green Lantern hasn’t exactly gotten a lot of video game love over the years. That makes it that much more of a shame that the Green Lantern almost starred in a SNES action game that was not only almost finished at the time that it was canceled but actually looked pretty good.

The Suicide Squad Review: The Most James Gunn Superhero Movie Ever
By David Crow
Actually, the game’s cancellation seemingly had nothing to do with the quality of the game itself. Reports suggest that the game was ultimately canceled due to the rise of the Sony PlayStation (and the start of next-gen gaming) as well as conflicts between DC and developer Ocean Software regarding how this game should handle ongoing aspects of the Hal Jordan storyline.
7. 100 Bullets
Well, “comic” is probably more appropriate than “superhero” in this instance, but it’s hard to have this conversation without mentioning the 100 Bullets game we never got to play. Not only was this game based on a hot (at the time) comic property but everything we’ve ever heard about it suggests that it could have been a worthwhile entry into the post-Max Payne era of third-person action titles.
Sadly, the decision to cancel this game ultimately came down to money. Publisher Acclaim Entertainment’s rapidly deteriorating financial situation spelled the end for 100 Bullets and most other projects the company planned to publish at that time. There was brief chatter about a possible revival, but nothing ever came of it.
6. Ghost Rider (PS1)
In the late ‘90s, Neversoft Entertainment (developers of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater) started working on a Ghost Rider action/adventure game that combined elements of 2D and 3D design. It was basically a Castlevania-style action game from the studio that eventually brought us that amazing PS1 Spider-Man title. The only known footage of this title is pretty rough, but it certainly looked promising.
In fact, this is another one of those instances where the game’s eventual cancellation has nothing to do with how good it was. Ghost Rider was supposed to be published by Crystal Dynamics, but reports indicate that Crystal Dynamics decided to get out of publishing before the game could be completed. Neversoft apparently tried to approach them to work out a new deal, but rumors suggest the company just wasn’t interested in funding a 2D action game at that time.
5. Justice League: Mortal
Remember that Justice League movie George Miller was supposed to direct that was ultimately canceled due to budget concerns? Well, it turns out that developer Double Helix once worked on a loose video game adaptation of/tie-in to that film. It was going to be a third-person action game with a DMC-like combo system that, you guessed it, was canceled around the same time as the George Miller Justice League movie.
What’s really interesting about this one, though, is that elements of this project were eventually spun off into the Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters game we mentioned earlier. While that title offers a rough look at what this one could have been, reports suggest Justice League: Mortal was a much larger and more ambitious game.
4. Daredevil
It’s hardly a surprise that Daredevil is arguably the most talked about canceled superhero game of all time. After all, an open-world Daredevil game that properly utilizes the character’s abilities while diving deep into his comic book lore is something a lot of fans would probably still play today.
With this one, though, the story isn’t so much that it was canceled but rather that the project made it as far as it did. Reports about this game’s development suggest that it wasn’t only an overly ambitious technical nightmare, but that the stress of working on this title led to a sharp decline in morale at developer 5000ft Inc’s offices and may have even resulted in a rise in substance abuse issues among the studio’s employees. Marvel eventually decided to pull their support for this one due to a litany of problems and disagreements.
3. Gotham By Gaslight
Yes, there was a time when someone was bold enough to pitch a steampunk Batman action game based on the famous Batman story of the same name. Early footage of the prototype for that concept even suggests that its gameplay would have fallen somewhere between the Arkham titles and Bloodborne.
“Pitch” and “prototype” are ultimately the keywords to keep in mind here, though, as it sounds like Gotham by Gaslight never made it further than those very early stages. This feels like the kind of game that would be easier to find funding for today, but at this point, it sounds like it will forever be a “what could have been” situation.
2. Superman: Blue Steel
Throughout the…dodgy history of Superman video games, most fans of the character have cried out for an open-world Superman title that captures the awesome potential of the character’s abilities without reducing Superman to a wrecking ball. Well, developer Factor 5’s Superman: Blue Steel was supposed to be that game.
In fact, Blue Steel lead designer Salvatrix recently shared new details about the game via Twitter that all confirm reports people had been hearing for years regarding this project’s potential. Unfortunately, she also confirmed that this game’s cancellation ultimately came down to the market crash that hit at the time and how it left the team without the resources and support they needed to complete their vision.
1. Spider-Man Classic
What you really need to know about Spider-Man Classic is that it was supposed to be the follow-up to the largely underrated 2009 game Spider-Man: Web of Shadows. The basic idea is that it would have seen Spider-Man and Wolverine team-up to battle new and old foes as Spider-Man relieved some of his most memorable moments from the comics throughout the years. Yes, it probably would have been amazing.
Spider-Man Classic was unfortunately canceled when developer Shaba Games was shuttered in 2009. While we ultimately ended up getting the incredible Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions as a result of this cancellation, I chose to believe there’s enough room in this world for both.

Is FreshBooks A Good Free QuickBooks Alternative? -FreshBooks Review 2020
Tumblr media
FreshBooks, incepted in 2003 and redesigned in 2017, is one of the most popular accounting and finance software with invoicing solution that gained its current popularity due to high customer satisfaction rates. With its continually added features and expansion of the type of services FreshBooks provides, there has been a recent buzz whether one can compare it to be a free QuickBooks alternative.
Now here’s a fact- while the similarity in their names may suggest a similarity in the services they provide, FreshBooks does not work quite the same as QuickBooks. There’s a lot of difference between them, and in this blog, we are going to talk about FreshBooks review 2020, pinpointing every feature of it to clear your misconceptions and help you decide if you want to switch between either of the options for your business.
But first things first, let me tell you in brief about invoicing and cloud accounting.
What Is An Invoice?
Tumblr media
One can define an invoice as a written affirmation of the agreement between a service provider and its customer comprising of name, date, address, etc. It is a written record that builds an obligation on the buyer’s part to pay for it, thus making their account more reliable. Billing and invoicing is one of the most important parts of accounting because it keeps a record of all the sales transactions.
What Is Cloud Accounting Software?
You might have come across this term quite frequently. This type of software is similar to the usual accounting software. The only difference being that one can host it on remote servers. In other words, cloud accounting is a way to access your accounting use, such as online software in the form of emails, e-banking, doc files, etc.
What Makes FreshBooks The Best Cloud Accounting Software Of 2019?
Tumblr media
FreshBooks initiated as an invoicing solutions provider and was completely redesigned and relaunched in 2017. The users can still access its old website, FreshBooks Classic, but now the company primarily centers on improving the new site.
Beyond the continuous tweaking and adding new features, this tool has undergone one very notable change. Here are some of the features I particularly love about FreshBooks:
1. Responsive and Simple Design
The biggest perk of using FreshBooks is the ease of management that comes along. It has an attractive dashboard organized and optimized to be easily accessed by any device. The side menu has options for quick reports. There are also Create and Help buttons present right at the top and bottom, respectively.
2. Time Tracking
It offers a built-in timer for tracking billable hours for your employees. You can feasibly look into the login and out times of your teams and co-workers along with importing this data into your accounting system after compiling. You can record their unbillable time as well.
Tumblr media
3. Invoicing
It offers customizable templates, font, color, header, logo, etc. You can add notes into your invoices, set reminders, and set recurring invoices. The built-in chat feature is one of the best FreshBooks features. Also, the small cloud-bubble icon redirects a user immediately to a screen that displays the recent actions as well as your clients’ messages.
4. Double-Entry Accounting
With the recent addition of this feature, FreshBooks has become a sound free QuickBooks alternative. Being ideal for smaller businesses, accounting firms, freelancers, and solopreneurs, it offers simple accounting solutions like accounts payable, budgeting, tax support, etc.
5. Reporting
The central dashboard of FreshBooks displays your periodical input vs. output. It focuses on profit margin and assists a user to generate even the most detailed reports to help a business understand what they exactly need for accounting purposes.
Tumblr media
6. Contact Management
You can add basic information about your clients’ contacts along with the private notes. You also get an option to set the default language, currency, default reminders, etc. You can also add a list of your active clients to send the statements to them directly.
7. Expense Tracking
FreshBooks focuses mostly on payment collection and invoicing, which means that one has to connect to another accounting system for tracking the expenses. But it does offer some special expense features, for instance, tax management, receipt tracking, etc.
8. Project Management
This feature is extremely useful for employers to create hourly projects and then allocate them to their clients or employees. You can also set the due date, and discuss your project with your team internally using a tool named discuss. It comes with an option to send images, attachments, answer questions, etc.
Tumblr media
9. Customer Support
FreshBooks has a high value of its customers, something that is evident from every person who has worked with them. Not only are their representatives friendly and informative, but they also respond quite promptly. It’s good to see how these people have made it feasible for the micro-businesses to understand what they should do.
Some Setbacks Of Using FreshBooks
FreshBooks has proved to be an incredible customer service provider with an extremely easy to use interface. Yet, it comes with some cons that I have listed below:
Tumblr media
1. Higher Pricing
FreshBooks offers the option for both monthly and yearly payments. There are a total of four plans, only two of which come with double-entry accounting and automated invoicing. The best part is that no bank information is required, and you can cancel their services at any time, but FreshBooks pricing still seems a bit too high for small to medium businesses.
2. No Inventory Tracking
Good accounting software must let a user enter the payments made to a supplier previously, and make further orders based on inventory output. FreshBooks doesn’t come with any such inventory features that can assist the small or medium retailers to understand the complex accounting procedures.
3. No Balance Sheet Automation
FreshBooks doesn’t give you the option to perform accounting by automating your balance sheets. You can fill your data in the balance sheets, and put in some work to organize it. This process is a bit lengthy, monotonous, and time-consuming and requires an input of a lot of work depending on your projects and number of clients. Thus it is not very suitable for accounting firms of all sizes.
50% Off For 3 Months
Tumblr media
Even though, as mentioned earlier, FreshBooks pricing may seem a bit high for small business owners, it still comes with a cheaper alternative. They are offering an exclusive 50% off on all the plans for a limited time. Buy their plans now to devour the discount.
Is FreshBooks Better Than QuickBooks?
Just like most of the people initially, my conclusion was that FreshBooks offers more or less the same services as QuickBooks with a tad bit of differences. But after digging deeper into its features, I can honestly sum up that both of them have a very different set of target consumers.
QuickBooks would be fit for the large scale, product-based companies, and comes with a bit of complication to use. In other words, not very suitable for a noobie or small business.
On the other hand, FreshBooks not only comes with an extremely easy to use interface, but its services are also quite easy to understand for even a person owning a flower shop. Basically, it’s better for the people who are new in the business game- small businesses, startups, service-based companies, freelancers, etc.
All-in-all, FreshBooks can be considered as a notable free QuickBooks alternative, depending on the size and requirements of a business venture.

What Are Content Managers, and How Do You Become One?
When I was in college, I had a mentor during my summer internship. When we were talking about my career goals, I explained to her that I wanted to be someone who creates, distributes, strategizes, and promotes content.
“It sounds like you want to be a content manager,” she said.
I had no idea what she meant by that — I’d never heard of a content manager. Instead of asking her to clarify, I decided to smile and nod. But my curiosity was immediately sparked.
After all, I had no idea there was a ‘perfect’ role out there for me.
Ultimately, my mentor was right. Content managers have a hand in content strategy, creation, and distribution of marketing communications for a company. They’re organized, well-versed in fostering a brand voice, and often know their way around a blog post.
Tumblr media
Maybe you are in a position like the one I was in — someone just learning about the content management role, and want to know the basics. Or, maybe you know this is the job for you, but want to make sure you’re prepared to be successful.
Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about content managers, from what they do to how to become one. Let’s take a look.
What are content managers, and what do they do?
According to Senior Brand Manager Alicia Collins, “Content managers wear many hats. Their job consists of so many moving parts — managing blogs, managing social, managing offers … in some cases, they can be a one-person marketing team.”
The role of a content manager can depend on company structure and size. For instance, a startup’s content manager might be their only marketer, while an enterprise company might have content managers assigned to multiple teams. Even so, there are common characteristics that define a content manager.
What is a content manager?
A content manager oversees the development, distribution, and strategic efforts of creating messaging to inform and delight audiences. This role usually involves knowledge of software, tools, and methods to help execute their job functions, people and project management, and an understanding of brand voice.
Content managers are creative. They develop and distribute timely, relevant content for audiences. To do that, they have a deep understanding of the voice their brand takes and use it to communicate with customers.
In addition to creativity, being a content manager usually involves the management of projects and a content team. They also might collaborate across other teams for projects.
This role is usually not entry-level — content managers are generally expected to lead their team and foster growth, so it’s a job that’s usually filled by someone with a couple years of experience in marketing, communications, and project management.
You might find a content manager taking the ownership over an editorial calendar, developing content topic strategy, data reports, managing social media accounts, or writing long-form editorial pieces.
That was just an overview of content managers and the job role. Next, we’re going to talk about some specific duties of a content manager.
What does a content manager do?
Content managers have varied roles depending on the industry or company they work for, but generally, they’re in charge of project management, the development of content topics and campaigns, and have some sort of hand in editorial work. They’re responsible for driving engagement and traffic through their projects.
If you’re a content manager, you are most likely spending some time analyzing datasets. Data from past campaigns, SEO research, and audience behavior are all helpful numbers to look at in order to execute job functions — they inform leadership decisions and collaborative projects.
If you don’t analyze the results from your content performance, you won’t know if your messages are accurately connecting with your customers.
As a content manager, you’ll also spend ample time working on strategizing how to deliver those messages.
According to content manager Justin Champion, “An effective content manager needs to have a vision of what story they’re trying to tell. This will help them stitch together all of their mediums to create the best experience possible for their audience.”
“An effective content manager needs to have a vision of what story they’re trying to tell. This will help them stitch together all of their mediums to create the best experience possible for their audience.”
Content managers are brand advocates and know that the way stories are delivered reflect their company’s brand and audience preferences.
So, you know what a content manager does. What about some of the skills you’ll need to exceed as one? Let’s talk about a few, next.
The skills needed for content management.
We’ve lightly touched on a few of the skills you need to be a content manager, including creativity, leadership, data interpretation, and organization. But it’s also imperative to have working knowledge of a few other things.
For instance, a general understanding of SEO rules and familiarity with how to use keyword research software are also needed. In addition, you’ll also have to know how to be a storyteller using the voice of a brand, and how to connect with customers using that brand voice.
Take it from Senior Podcast Producer Matt Brown, who says, “Empathizing with your audience and telling a story worth listening to is always the greatest skill a content manager should have.”
In order to deliver those stories, they’ll need to be familiar with copywriting and editing. Writing skills would be applied to writing marketing communications, blog posts, and when editing the work of others.
It’s also a good idea to know about how social media is used as a business tool, and when that applies to marketing campaigns for your company. To help with social media management, knowing how to use a CMS like HubSpot would be beneficial.
Generally, knowledge of one or two online tools for every facet of content production and management will cover your bases. This includes programs to enhance content as well, such as automatic grammar check software or graphic design tools.
So, you know what it takes to be a content manager. But how do you get there? Time to find out.
How to Become a Content Manager
You can start sharpening your skills today. If you’re looking to become a content manager, deepen your knowledge of the skills mentioned that you know you can brush up on.
Refining your skillset ensures that you’re staying up-to-date with industry changes. This is a must for content managers. If you don’t know how the industry is changing, you won’t be able to effectively connect to your audience.
Two other skills you can start working on are writing and SEO practices.
If you’re new to both, try starting a blog on a platform that has built-in, guided SEO capabilities, like HubSpot or WordPress. These functions will help you on a two-for-one front — practice with writing for a specific audience, and optimizing.
If you’re worried about the grammar and comprehension front when it comes to writing, check out Hemingway Editor or Grammarly. Hemingway Editor is a free website that checks your writing for technical errors and readability, while Grammarly is software that analyzes your work, spell-checks it, and offers suggestions on how to improve sentence structure.
You can also take courses to help you strengthen your content marketing skills. Champion recommends starting with this certification course. Upon completion, you’ll get a certificate that verifies your comprehension of content marketing (plus, you can add it to your LinkedIn profile).
When I was in college talking to my mentor, I didn’t know that the skills needed for content managing transition into my current role — even though it’s not my job title, I’m still in charge of creating content that resonates with readers. I also need to be proficient in SEO language, comfortable with collaboration, and have an organized workflow to do my job effectively.
Now that you know all about content managers, have you spotted some similarities between the role and what you do? If so, you’re already on your way to becoming an awesome one. As the saying goes, “It’s not about the destination, but they journey,” and I know that once you reach your destination, you’ll make waves as a content manager.

What does CPC, CTR, CPM, CPL, ROI mean? Basic online marketing dictionary
Tumblr media
CPC, CTR, CPM, CPL, ROI... do you go crazy when starting an online marketing campaign and the terms sound like Chinese? In this post, we explain in a simple way the meaning of these terms. The digital marketing in its various aspects - content, email marketing, mobile marketing, marketing influencers, etc- offers multiple options for businesses to promote and disseminate the value of their products and services to your potential customer segment. If we talk about paid online advertising through famous platforms such as Google Adwords or Facebook Ads, you must have an “elementary dictionary” of the most used words at hand when planning your campaigns Do not worry! In the beginning, it is very difficult to understand and select all the metrics that these platforms provide us, with which data and statistics analytics will soon become your biggest ally to understand the behavior of your users, detect failures, implement improvements and optimize your website or e-commerce to achieve better performance of it. Here is a simple definition of some of the most popular terms linked to online advertising.
Elementary online marketing dictionary: CPC, CTR, CPM, CPL, ROI...
Tumblr media
Before starting with each of the terms it is important that you know the three basic metrics in any online advertising campaign: Clicks: As the name implies, this metric refers to each occasion in which an Internet user clicks on an advertisement or advertising link. Impressions: This metric is recorded every time a user is shown one of your ads. The number of impressions equals the number of times users saw your ad. Conversions: These are the actions within a website that constitute an important indicator for the advertiser. Or in other words, the conversion is about the moment in which the user "clicks" and executes the key action marked within the marketing strategy that contributes to achieving the objectives set. It can be from filling out a form, downloading a file, generating a sale, registering in a newsletter, consuming a certain content, becoming a follower ... In this article, we give you keys to improve them. Basic terms of digital marketing Now, these are some of the fundamental terms you should know to master the interpretation of the analytics of your digital marketing campaigns. CTR Acronym for Click-Through Rate conversion rate or click-through rate is an advertising efficiency ratio that measures as a percentage the number of times a user clicks on an advertising banner or online ad with respect to the number of times that ad appears on the printed screen -number of prints-. CPC It's very simple and the most popular payment system: it means “cost per click,” or the way in which platforms like Google AdWords charge their advertisers. That is, every time a user clicks on an ad the online advertising platform charges a certain amount. The CPC can be obtained with the following formula: CPC = Total cost / Number of clicks. The advertiser pays for each click made on the ad: the basic principle of this metric dictates that if there is no click there is no payment. Logically, the more clicks, the more money the webmaster or platform will charge and the more visits the advertiser will receive, so it is essential that the ads - whether in the form of a link or a banner - are colorful and attractive to arouse the desire to click of the users.  It is one of the most interesting indicators since it allows you to assess the outcome of a campaign in relation to the number of users who have seen the ad and those who have clicked on it, so it greatly contributes to knowing the word performance key and ads. Among the ad providers that charge through CPC, the three largest online ad platforms are Google AdWords, Microsoft Adcenter, and Yahoo! Search Marketing (Yahoo!) CPI This term constitutes the cost per interaction, a kind of mediation bid that advertisers pay exclusively when users interact with an ad without it being a click - since we would not be talking about CPC. An interaction is considered when, for example, the user places the cursor over the ad for two seconds. In addition, the cost per impression is a way of measuring the cost and impact of a promotion, mainly in print media and on television. The way to calculate it is by dividing the total cost in media by the number of users who have viewed the ad. CPM It is a model quite different from the previous one. Its acronym is equivalent to Cost per Thousand Impressions, or the value it costs the advertiser to have his ad seen a thousand times. Therefore, this system is based on paying a certain amount of money for every thousand impressions - views - that an advertisement receives. For you to understand, if for example, you hire a $ 6 CPM and you have 2000 impressions, you will pay $ 12. It is common for the cost per impression to be used to increase knowledge about the brand and its reputation - as a branding action - since many users will see the banner, but all will access the web as the CPC happens. An example of CPM advertising service is AdBooth. It is calculated as follows: Total cost / (Number of impressions / 1,000). CPL and CPA In these types of advertising contracts, the price is linked to the loyalty of potential customers, since the advertiser pays for each new entry in the company's database. The acronym of the CPL refers to the term Cost per lead. It is the cost per activity or action. That is, the user will not only have to perform the action of clicking on the ad but must also carry out a specific action, from completing a form to making an order or paying online for a product, registering, subscribing to a newsletter, etc ... It is the system used by most online stores and e-commerce. It depends largely on the ability of the advertiser to attract himself and the reach to his target, In this price model the conversion of a user into lead is valued, that is, in a person who has given us more information, the previous step to becoming a customer. CPA refers to the Cost per Acquisition, which bases the price on the results obtained: that is, the advertiser pays a fee based on the number of visitors to its website through online advertising and who perform a specific action, be it a record or request for information (CPL), a purchase (CPA), a cost per click (CPC) or any other previously agreed action.
Tumblr media
ROI They are the acronym of Return on Investment. This return on investment is the economic value generated as a result of carrying out various marketing activities. In this way, it is possible to know the degree of return obtained from an investment. Thanks to ROI you can evaluate how much has generated in sales each euro invested in an advertising campaign.  The formula for calculating ROI is the following ROI = (BENEFIT - INVESTMENT) / INVESTMENT. It is the relationship between the investment made and the benefits generated, whether direct sales, conversions or obtaining potential customers. To show it with an example, if you invest $ 500 in resources, take an online course through which you get, after completing, $ 1,500 of benefits, the return on investment will be 2%. Or what is the same, for every euro invested in the course, the return on investment is 2 euros. When the ROI is positive, the project is profitable.  Read the full article

The sky is a little brighter today thanks to the Black Knight Satellite. by shipinthesea123
After Mondays eclipse, the sky is a little brighter. You probably won't notice it because the source of this extra illumination isn't that large, but I fear this small source of light may will have a unprecedented impact on our planet.
The Black Knight Satellite has turned white....bright white and very bright.
The names Josh, and I work as a custodian at the Space Fence . A now relic of the Air Force Space Command, once served as a the forefront in detection of objects in our immediate space through a series of radio transmissions. Like many other government initiatives, there is a lot more to the story than that. I started work with the initiative in 2004, and continued through the decommission of the effort in 2013. Like most abandoned government projects, someone has to "inspect and protect" government assets. Basically, the technology was outdated and Lockheed, Northrop and Raytheon have all already won the bid for the new and improved space fence, to be built off of Kwajalein Atoll. So, until they completely decommission our operation, myself and a few other staff occupy the last remaining "hot" low-power sites monitoring and sending data down the rabbit hole. I spend my time here in Lake Kickapoo Texas at the Master Transmitter. The seclusion and little interaction with anyone is a nice change from my time in Dallas. The ex wife not having a knowledge of where I am doesn't hurt either.
Those of you who have some interest in the paranormal community may know of the Black Knight Satellite. Spurred by Nikola Tesla's supposed session listening to radio waves from the object. These signals were sent perfectly timed and were deemed by Tesla to be intelligent, or from an intelligent source.
Que the forest fire of speculations and outlandish stories, and the Black Knight quickly became nonsense. Do your curiosity a favor and research it. The BK has so many back stories, it can only be a hoax right?
Not quite.
In October 2013, official word came from our headquarters that Space Fence has been deemed outdated. Our new initiative was to move towards low power duty and automation with the exception of custodial personnel to confirm that the grounds were maintained and automation was left uninterrupted. I liked Lake Kickapoo. This station is based in the middle of a farm, and the little shack on the lake I had bought was perfect. So I asked for the custodial position and received it. Having the ability to sit and monitor radio transmissions from space from 9am to 2pm, then fix a gutter or mow the grass was heaven to me.
To the Black Knight. If you read into the lore of it, radio transmissions seem to be the running theme.
Here's what my briefing uncovered to me and the other staff taking part in the Space Fence;
1) It is a real thing. Our governments are aware of it and when we can spot it, efforts from all parts of the world to catch a glimpse of it or intercept the radio transmissions. The closest man-made satellite usually intercepts a visual or auditory signal. The longest recorded information on the BK was from the International Space Station in 2012. The ISS made visual with the BK. The visuals of the BK confirmed its size to be comparable to a small sedan, with a texture that looked like that of a smooth onyx metal. There was a notable disruption in electronics in the ISS, signalling that the BK has an apparent electromagnetic field. Crew members noted confusion after witnessing the event. The BK disappeared.
2) It has a random, unpredictable pattern. Previously thought to have a polar orbit, no one has been able to predict or discover a pattern to it. It just....disappears.
3) It hasn't been sending a radio signal to us like Tesla originally thought. It has been sending a signal about us. Most are thought to have no knowledge of what the transmissions meant, but after decoding recorded transmissions, many people from around the world have interpreted it to be a basic "Handbook of Humanity". Form our genome codes, to our political structure and religious constructs.
4) Here is the most unsettling fact about the Black Knight. We know nothing else about it. It has appeared harmless, the BK itself. Just a spy station for something/someone. All signs point to extraterrestrial, but really the question to who or why can't be determined. So we've waited. It's been our Elephant in the Room for a while. Everyone in the upper echelons of government know about it. They know it's gathering information and transmitting it back out but why? It has boiled down to the fact that they can't catch it, therefore they can't figure out where it came from and so on.....so why worry about it?
A bit fucked up if you ask me.
But, we who are privy to it's existence carry on our daily duties, knowing that it's there and we do nothing. We just know that this out there. This so called "benign big brother" watching us.
Monday started out like all the others. I wanted to take a little time to catch the eclipse like many other Americans so I started my day early. My director would occasionally drop by to check and see if the compound was good at random drop ins, so I stayed on my toes. I mowed around the length of the radio transmitters, blew the clippings off the parking lot and knocked the few stray shrub limbs off. I keep the place in tip-top shape as if it were active to this day. I laid in the bed of my pickup with my glasses and stared off into the eclipse and life went on like it any other.
I stepped foot back onto my front porch at around 6:03pm, my nightly round of Netflix and shitty TV dinners was on track when my cell phone rang. It displayed a "Unknown Caller" for the ID. Answering it, I expected a recorded message alerting me of my vehicles warranty expiring or the situation with my current credit card debts, but no such luck. It was a disturbing call that I have only heard about people like me receiving in dire consequences. When we communication stations need to be listening....and listening close.
A recorded female voice, hurried but exact in her instructions.
"All Space Fence stations; Protocol H184.... 216.98 MHz Alpha Foxtrot Blue" She repeated this two additional times before the call ended with the beep beep beep signalling it hanging up.
I froze. I was instructed about this in '13 when we brought the fence down. Protocol H183 is a full power up. 216.98 MHz is the fences full operating frequency. AFB.....that's what worried me, it's a signal of a huge issue. Some kind of national disaster or a threat.
Surely this wasn't a test. We're a tick dick away from having all of the power cut to this program, why in the hell would they bring us back up?
My phone rang. Reggie from our fill-in transmitter site in Jordan Lake, AL calling. He had received the same call...Dianne from Gila River, AZ called next. We were all given the orders for a full power up. I sped off to my site.
While heading there, I received an email. Which was almost as shocking since the power down, I rarely received correspondence via email unless it was to receive my W-9 at the end of the year. It lit up with more emails from our group on the project.....the receiving stations were being brought up as well.
Hawkinsville, GA Elephant Butte, NM Sand Diego, CA Tattnal, GA Silver Lake, MS Red River, AR
All were ordered to be at full power by 2359 Eastern Time.
I felt instant nostalgia the minute I went to the main breaker and pumped the primer to flip the breaker. When it snapped into place, I could almost feel the energy running back into the sleeper station. The two red blinking caution lights at either end of the antennas quickly lit up like a runway when the forty or so other lights powered up. My little spot in the Texas desert was back online. Well, almost. This station was usually manned by at least 5 people. Startup wasn't impossible with one man, but timely. Finally at 2100 central time, I went online at 100%. I pulled the plastic film off of the chair in the middle of the control room and fell into the seat. For a moment, the terror of whatever was going on was masked for a moment by the pride of accomplishment. I pulled out my phone and started working my way through the forty some odd emails unread. It was a barrage of "What's going on?" or "Tattnal online" or "Hey, didn't the guy running San Diego die?". Our director, the "boss" never piped in the email exchange until he sent a simple, "Update to come at 0200 EST."
The worst fears came to mind while I checked and rechecked.
Nuclear war? Bio-terrorism? Why the hell is the AFSSS involved? Space Ebola or something?
I couldn't understand why in the hell they wanted the Space Fence online for a disaster? It would almost be like fighting cyber terrorism with a calculator. We're outdated. All we could do it detect things in the atmosphere.
0200 EST came.
An encrypted message hit my inbox. After pulling it and getting it to it's full form, I read the contents.

RE: Black Knight
On August 21st, 2017 NASA has reported a sighting of the Black Knight Satellite. One like no other on record. >Approximately 1630 EST, ISS reported the BK had appeared mere feet away from the observation pod. Scientists on >board reported that the surface of BK, usually giving off a solid appearance, now looked fluid. During the 14 minute 34 >second time-frame it was in view, it slowly illuminated. Both cameras, and occupants of the ISS could not view with the >naked eye, or a camera anything decipherable after said illumination event.
A spike in transmissions of all kinds are being reported. Space Fence has been ordered activated to pick up any >anomalies or atmosphere entry.
Keep our ears open at the listening stations and send to HQ for decoding. The boys up top want to know what BK is >saying.
It is moving in a course that is in orbit, but inline with the suns current pattern.
Update through encryption any anomalies noted by your station.
End.
Sleep deprivation is a helluva drug. I can't help but think of the possible scenarios. Why haven't we as a people made a bigger deal of this. Did we just accept the fact that we were being watched and broken down? That this CCTV has been floating right above us and we've just....done nothing.
What is it doing? Why has it lit up?
I received another encrypted email. San Diego is picking up an entry. New Mexico and Arkansas are confirming.

The Three Elements of an Effective Total Online Presence
The Three Elements of an Effective Total Online Presence written by John Jantsch read more at Duct Tape Marketing
Marketing Podcast with John Jantsch on Total Online Presence
Business owners today understand that being visible online is important. But what does having an online presence really mean? It’s a lot bigger than just having a website and a Facebook page. And when you look at the statistics on how consumers behave online, it’s easy to understand why. Did you know that:
77 percent of searches on mobile devices are followed up by an action within an hour; 87 percent of potential customers won’t consider a business with low reviews/ratings; 7 out of 10 consumers are more likely to use a local business if it has information on social media sites; and 82 percent of small business owners claim their main source of new business is still referrals?
All of these statistics demonstrate the importance of having a total online presence that is fully integrated. That means that the total online presence shouldn’t supplant everything else you’re already doing—it needs to support it.
In order to make the most of the way that consumers interact with brands online, there are three fundamental elements of strategy for your online presence: website, SEO, and content. These are bigger than just tactics, they’re strategic components; as such, they need to be blended together in an effective and efficient way.
Below, we’ll take a look at the three elements of your total online presence, and how to get them working in tandem to bring you the greatest results.
Creating an Effective Website
The way that both search engines and people search has changed how websites need to work today. Your homepage isn’t just a placeholder and index for all of your links. It’s now the start of a journey—it’s where you build the know, like, trust, and try elements of your relationship with customers.
The first thing your homepage must do is demonstrate how you solve the biggest problem your prospects are facing. No one comes to a website looking for a product or service; they come looking for a solution to their problem. If you can prove that you understand their issue, then you can begin to talk about how you solve it (with your products and services).
The content on your homepage needs to back up your claims. Video is becoming an increasingly important element in building trust. A video featuring your team talking about your deep understanding of the problems your prospects face builds trust. Not only do they feel like you really know what you’re talking about, but the simple act of seeing your face and hearing your voice builds a personal connection that makes the trust grow even faster.
You also want to provide an evaluation or checklist in order to give prospects a way to try your approach. When they can see the way you work to solve their problem, they gain confidence in your ability to get the job done.
Beyond those basic content elements, your website also needs to address two major technical hurdles in order to be competitive today. First, it must work on a mobile device. In 2018, Google announced that they’d be using mobile websites, rather than desktop websites, as their main basis for indexing and ranking. This means that if you don’t have a mobile site (or you have one that isn’t optimized for mobile), you’re lagging behind your competitors and falling in Google search rankings. Second, security and privacy are becoming bigger and bigger concerns for consumers. After years of watching some of the giants like Facebook and Target stumble with online security, consumers are looking for small businesses who work hard to guard their personal information. This means ensuring that you have an HTTPS site and that you are encrypting any data you collect from visitors.
Search Engine Optimization
It’s Google’s world, we’re just living in it. Whether you like it or not, Google is the biggest player in the online game, and so a small business owner’s chief concern needs to be optimizing for Google. But at the same time, you can’t lose sight of your customers and optimizing for their human needs.
The first thing that any small business owner should do to ensure they’re ranking well with Google is take a deeper look at Google My Business. I’ve talked before on the podcast about the importance of this tool, but Google continues to build out this platform and further integrate it with other tools. In fact, I suspect that in 2019 it may become Google’s very own social platform, allowing small business owners to interact with their customers. But for now, at the very least, it’s the number one way in which small businesses are being found by people looking for local solutions.
This means you should be taking your Google My Business presence seriously. If you haven’t done so already, claim your business and make sure there are no duplicate entries. Ensure the category of your business is specific, and that the name, address, and phone number all sync up with what you have on your website. Add photos and videos, posts, and descriptions to your profile. You can even use Google My Business to connect directly with customers and prospects through text messaging.
You also want to be sure that your website is giving you the best shot at ranking locally. Fill your pages with local data, content, and resources. And beyond what is actually on your website for prospects and customers to find, you need to be paying attention to the metadata behind the scenes. Make sure your titles and descriptions are helping you rank for those search terms that matter most to your prospects.
Reviews are the final piece of the SEO puzzle. They have become a significant factor in how you rank. Businesses with few reviews or poor reviews will fall behind those with lots of good reviews. And as with all of the other elements of SEO, while reviews matter for rankings, they also matter for the people reading them. Having reviews—and good ones at that—will make prospects far more likely to give your business a try.
Content Beyond Blogging
Today, it’s pretty common for “content” to be used interchangeably with “blog posts.” But in reality, content is much bigger than that. Content drives every channel. Whether it’s advertising, email marketing, social media, community events, videos, referral offers, or text messaging, these are all forms of content (or at the very least channels where content is needed).
When you’re developing content, you need to be catering to every stage of the customer journey. A great way to do this is through the creation of hub pages. These pages allow you to structure your content around specific topics. When you centralize all of your knowledge on a given topic within a hub page, that allows the content to be shared more easily and to draw attention in ranking.
Beyond just creating a centralized page for relevant content, you want to be sure you’re marrying content upgrades to those hub pages. If you have a page that ranks, attach a free checklist or eBook so that you can begin using all of that content to capture leads.
I’ve Got My Strategic Elements—Now What?
As you can see, these three main elements of your total online presence all go hand in hand. This means that you also need to get your website, SEO strategy, and content working together to generate and capture leads, so that you can begin the process of nurturing them and converting them to customers.
Building an effective strategy is about addressing the needs of your prospects and customers all along their journey. Whether they’re in the earliest stages of the marketing hourglass, and are just coming to know and like your business, or they’re a repeat customer about to make a referral to a friend.
Every element of your strategy needs to be focused towards moving people along the hourglass, and this goes beyond just website, SEO, and content. Things like advertising, outreach, pay per click, and reviews all must work together to accomplish this task.
Fortunately, if you’re using these three major strategic elements as your guide, you’re able to structure the other tactics around those larger forces to create a marketing system that best serves the needs of your business and your customers.

Data Entry & Migration Services
Data Entry Outsourcing Services Does your business rely on temporary workers or clerical staff to perform standard data entry services? If so, you should consider our affordable data entry outsourcing. While many companies rely on data outsourcing centers in countries like India or the Philippines, at Datamation, we work exclusively with workers based in the United States who provide a high level of service that can reduce your out-of-pocket costs and increase workforce productivity.
Who Needs Data Entry Services? We understand that every company works with limited resources. Still, there are basic functions that need to be performed, and that work comes at a cost. This is especially true for small businesses where every employee and every hour of work plays an important role in meeting your bottom line. Data entry outsourcing is an affordable option for businesses, large and small. Outsourcing to data entry companies can help streamline your overall workflow, increasing the percentage of employee hours spent expanding your business and reducing clerical expenses.

Additionally, if you’re using full-time staff to complete basic business functions, we can take that workload off their desks, freeing more of their workday to concentrate on growing your core business.
Benefits Of Outsourcing Data Entry The most obvious benefit is a reduction in costs as well as less dependency on temporary staff.  You can reduce your budget for temporary workers by outsourcing the basic services they’re providing at a significantly lower cost.  In addition, you can also recognize a reduction in secondary payroll costs like health benefits for permanent employees if their workload is reduced or eliminated.
There are secondary benefits, as well. By moving data entry off-site, you add a layer of security by not housing all your company data in one place.  If your office server is compromised, the online data entry forms the basis for higher-level data storage will be safe, allowing you to avoid starting from scratch in the event of an Internet security emergency.

Starting a Career in Digital Marketing: Nearly Everything You Need to Know
There’s a stereotype out there that tech companies only hire developers and programmers. Are they essential? Absolutely. If you’re looking for a creative role in tech that lets you make big picture plans, write clever copy, and even spend some days chatting with fans on Instagram, digital marketing could well be the ideal career for you. That’s why we’ve written an all-encompassing guide to building a career in digital marketing, one step at a time. Read it, bookmark it, live it.

What Is Digital Marketing?
Before we go deeper, here’s a quick recap. Digital marketing is an umbrella term that includes any and all “digital”, or online, strategies that help companies identify, build, and target an audience in the hopes of turning them into customers.
Like traditional marketing, digital marketing is at its simplest, the act of promoting and selling a product. But, thanks to the rise of smartphones, marketing has become both more lucrative and complex than just “You want this, I’ve got it.” “Digital marketing” can refer to anything from social media marketing to paid ads to search engine optimization (SEO), among other techniques.
If you want a deeper dive than that, try reading this Tech 101: What is Digital Marketing? article.
Common Digital Marketing Jobs + Salaries
Yes, there are digital marketer jobs out there, but the beauty of digital marketing is that there are many roles to fill. Most digital marketers evolve into niche categories depending on their interests and skill set. That means you can identify as a Type A techie or as a big-picture creative and still find an ideal digital marketing job for you. Here are just a few digital marketing job titles (and their average salaries as of this writing) you can land:
Content strategist ($72,742/year)
Content marketing manager ($81,087/year)
SEO specialist ($54,088/year)
Social media manager ($50,489/year)
Paid ads manager ($47,079/year)
Digital marketing manager ($73,114/year)
Partnership marketer ($50,528/year, $81,078/year for management positions)
Branded content manager ($64,367/year)
Audience development manager ($77,646/year)
Those may sound like a collection of disparate job titles, but really, for the most part they require the same digital marketing skills. From there, you can “specialize” in whatever most appeals to you. With that in mind, you’ll find an outline of the digital marketing skills you need in the next section.

The Skills You Need to Get Hired as a Digital Marketer
These skills are broken down thoroughly in our Tech 101: Digital Marketing piece and also outlined in our Digital Marketing course curriculum, but here’s a high-level overview to give you a clear picture:
The Buyer’s Journey and Sales Funnel
On the most basic level, digital marketers need to understand how to “attract, engage, and delight” (this is how the marketing platform, Hubspot, puts it) consumers to carry them from “I don’t know anything about this brand or product” to “I’m in.” This involves using techniques to better understand your customer (personas, user research etc.) and strategies for optimizing the sales process (via email marketing, retargeting, etc.).
Data Analysis / Analytics
Digital marketers need numbers to understand whether their various campaigns are working. They also need to be able to interpret those numbers to adjust their strategies and launch new offers. And, most importantly, they need to be able to explain that data to other members of their team who may not fully understand the purpose of digital marketing.
Content Marketing / Content Strategy
Content marketers and content strategists specialize in using storytelling to reach new audiences. They do that through: blog posts, email campaigns, guide and ebooks, and even other types of media like video and podcasts.
Social Media Marketing
Most of use some form of social media every day. Social media marketing involves strategically using a brand’s social channels to promote and sell its products. Those strategies might include anything from product promotion to channel-specific giveaways to paid ads (you’ve probably seen those on Facebook and even in your Instagram stories).
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Brands rely on traffic from search engines like Google (and, fine, Bing) to increase brand awareness and drive new leads. SEO is the process through which brands finesse the content they write to make it as appealing to Google as possible. The better the content, the better the search result for the most part—but there are plenty of nuances, which explains why SEO specialist is full-time job. Here’s a starter course on SEO from Moz. Our digital marketing course includes a segment on SEO as well.
Paid Ads
“Paid ads” is another umbrella term for buying media across channels to promote your products. This includes social media ads and target ads but also display ads (like the ones you see at the top of search results in Google).
General Tech Skills
It also helps digital marketers to acquire some tech skills as well, particularly because many digital market campaigns require working with a web development team. Some good ones to have on deck: HTML & CSS (you can learn those from our free coding camp), basic design principles and UX/UI, and photo editing basics. Here’s a full list of seven tech skills every digital marketer needs.
The Marketing Tools You Should Know How to Use
Analytics
Some companies use Hubspot, others Google Analytics, and there are plenty of other ways to track site traffic as well. Knowing your way around Google Analytics, though, is a pretty great place to start. GA offers free classes, plus it’s easy to install it on your own portfolio and start using.
Email Marketing Platforms
Mailchimp, Converkit, Constant Contact…multiple tools that offer similar features. If you’re working in digital marketing, chances are you’ll wind up using one of them, so learn the ins and outs ASAP. (Fun fact: there’s a free version of Mailchimp for you to play around with—see all our favorite free marketing tools here).
Social Media Management
Different companies use different social media scheduling tools. There’s MeetEdgar, Hootsuite, Later, Buffer. Most offer free trials, so you can see how they work by scheduling some mock campaigns.
SEO Research
Many sites recommend using Google keyword planner for SEO research, and it’s a great (free) tool to get familiar with. That said, the giants of SEO include: Moz, ahrefs, and SEMRush. All of these platforms are expensive, but they do offer free trials if you’re feeling particularly driven.
URL Builders
Chances are that if you land any digital marketing job, you’ll need to know how to build trackable URLs so you can monitor your campaigns. Here’s a free tool for that.
Where to Learn Digital Marketing Skills
You can start learning through free online courses, including the Moz SEO guide we suggested earlier. Hubspot also provides great digital marketing tutorials. Many digital marketers will also tell you that a good part of your work will involve reading up on marketing trends as they develop (it’s an evolving field!).
Lastly, if you’re ready for a career change N-O-W, we’ve got a digital marketing course that covers everything you need to start working as a digital marketer ASAP.
How to Build a Digital Marketing Portfolio
1. Plan Some Mock Projects
One of the best way to gain experience when you’re starting out as a digital marketer is to practice your digital marketing skills by completing some mock projects. (This piece on building a web design portfolio through mock projects can apply to digital marketing as well) Often, the best thing to work on is your own brand. Consider some ways you can use your own social media accounts to strategically grow a following (no joke, I hired a social media coordinator when she demonstrated she’d done this once) or optimize your own site for search and present your SEO results.
2. Offer to Help Friends / Acquaintances
Almost everyone needs help with their digital marketing, so think about people who could benefit from your help. While working for free isn’t ideal, it’s a good way to build experience while learning.
3. When Adding Projects, Focus on Results
As a marketer, it’s your results that count the most. So, as you write up both those mock projects and “family and friends” projects, make sure to focus on how much growth you effected and any other data or stats that proves your work had positive results.
4. Ask for Testimonials
A large part of working as a digital marketer is being able to communicate effectively with teams and clients. Ask anyone you work with (especially the ones you help for free) if they’d be willing to give you a testimonial for your portfolio.
How to Find a Digital Marketing Job
1. Search Digital Marketing Job Boards
Most job boards include digital marketing positions, but there are a few that are targeted specifically at digital marketers. Here are a few we suggested in our article on the best job titles for entry-level digital marketers:
AngelList
Krop
The Muse
FlexJobs (paid subscription required)
Tech Ladies (free subscription required
Dreamers // Doers: Jobs & Gigs (free Facebook group membership required)
If you’re looking for remote digital marketing jobs, justremote.co is a great option as well. Actually, while we’re at it, here’s a roundup of the best remote job sites out there.
2. Have an Elevator Pitch Ready
If you can’t sell yourself, how can you convince people you can sell their products? Before you step foot in a job interview, prep and practice your personal pitch. Here’s a step-by-step guide for giving a perfect personal pitch every time.
3. Send Your Portfolio Every Time
Don’t just sent a cover letter and resume when you apply, send a portfolio of your work. Digital marketing is all about “show, don’t tell” so you should treat your job applications the same way. Here are some beautiful portfolio site examples for every tech job title if you haven’t set yours up yet.
4. But Resumes and Cover Letters are Important, Too
Yes, even for tech jobs. Our best advice? Make sure that you’re carefully writing your cover letters for each job and mentioning the skills you have that perfectly align with the open position. And don’t just mass apply everywhere—do some research on the company so you can fold in some tailored marketing ideas just for them.
5. Practice Some of These Common Digital Marketing Interview Questions
What brands do you like to follow on social media, and why?
How do you keep up-to-date with marketing trends?
How would you describe our audience?
What could we be doing better?
We’re considering a redesign of our site. Where should we start?
Where do you think our biggest opportunity for growth is?
Here’s a longer list of job interview questions for marketing roles from Hubspot if you’d like to keep studying.
