ROZGAR MELA AND UNEMPLOYMENT IN INDIA
Tumblr media
The unemployment rate is the proportion of individuals without jobs within the labor force.
The labor force encompasses those who provide or express willingness to provide labor for economic activities, covering both employed and unemployed individuals.
As per the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PFLS) 2017-18, India’s labor force exhibited a 6.1% unemployment rate, with 17.8% of youth aged 15-29 facing unemployment.
Reasons of Unemployment
Jobless Growth: A country’s GDP can increase without significant job creation or even with job losses. While GDP growth is necessary for job creation, it’s not enough.
Slow Manufacturing sector growth: India’s growth relies on the service sector, which is less labor-intensive than manufacturing. The manufacturing phase has provided limited well-paid jobs, especially for those with lower education and skills.
Skill Mismatch: There’s often a mismatch between the skills possessed by job seekers and the skills demanded by available job opportunities. This discrepancy results in unemployment even when there are vacancies.
Informal Sector Dominance: A significant portion of India’s economy operates in the informal sector, which often lacks stable jobs and social security benefits, leading to underemployment and insecurity.

NYAY, meaning justice, as an acronym for Nyuntam Aay Yojana, Hindi for minimum income scheme — could be redemptive, not just for the poor but for the entire nation. Congress leader Rahul Gandhiji urged the Centre to implement the ‘Nyuntam Aay Yojana’ (NYAY) as an economic measure for the poor in urban and rural areas of the country. Rahul Gandhiji said If NYAY is implemented : The moment that money goes into your bank account, you are going to start spending that money. And the moment you start spending that money, people will need to produce products that you buy. And the moment people need products, somebody is going to make those products and people will get jobs in factories that make those products. @rahulgandhi NYAY will be succeed; IF appoint an independent panel of eminent Economists, Social scientists, and Statisticians to oversee the design, testing, rollout and implementation of the programme. The programme will move from one stage to the other only after a ‘go-ahead’ from the panel. The Congress goal is that ‘No Indian Family Shall Be Left Behind.’ [ To ensure that no Indian is left behind ] @incindia Dear Congress supporters, do share this post at large audience to understand the importance of NYAY...🙏 #rahulgandhi #nyay #nyaythejustice #indianeconomy #misp #indianeconomics #indianpolitics #politics #indiannationalcongress #rahulgandhispeaksforindia #rahulgandhispeaksoneconomy #priyankagandhi #soniyagandhi #congresssupporters #weloverg #welovecongress #weloverahulg #indianeconomyandmarket #peopleofindia #unemploymentinindia #indiawithrahulgandhi #india🇮🇳 (at India) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQNmtOktRQ5/?utm_medium=tumblr

According to the study, based on World Bank projections of economic growth, income levels in India dropped sharply for a large part of the population after the nationwide lockdown. The pandemic disrupted almost all industries last year, resulting in massive job losses across the formal and informal sectors of the economy. As part of the study, the Pew Research categorised income levels in India — [ $2 or less per day (poor)], [ $2.01 to $10 per day (low income)], [ $10.01 to $20 per day (middle income), [ $20.01 to $50 per day (upper middle income) ] and [ $50 or higher (high income)]. The unemployment rate had also peaked to its highest in over four decades. Mindful leader Shri. @rahulgandhi ji pointed out that " This is the result of GOI's pandemic mismanagement. But we must look at the future now. Rebuilding our country will begin when PM acknowledges his mistakes and seeks help from the experts. Living in denial will not solve anything,”. and its very true! The pandemic left crores of Indians poorer as a nationwide lockdown to contain the virus took away their jobs and livelihood. The Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) estimated that 11 million jobs were lost in 2018 – pushing the unemployment rate to 7.38%. A leaked NSSO report pegged the unemployment rate at 6.1%, the highest in over four decades. India will suffer more if Job creation is not happening. The large numbers of educated but unemployed youth are likely to get sucked into it. India should worry about its Educated, but Unemployed, Youth. #povertyinindia #poverty #unemploymentinindia #indianbloggers #indianeconomy #economy #RahulGandhi #rahulgandhi #indiawithrahulgandhi #welovecongress #RGVM #welovecongress_ #incindia #incmaharashtra #incdelhi #incmumbai #iycmaharashtra #iycindia #rahulgandhivicharmanch #rahulgandhispeaksforindia #rahulgandhisena #rahulgandhizindabad #india🇮🇳 #भारत #🇮🇳 #jobloss #delhidiaries2021 #delhifoodbloggers #mumbai (at India) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQXrmtXtLhx/?utm_medium=tumblr
