You were a relatively newer student. You normally kept to yourself but you always dreamt of being friends with the main trio, especially with the infamous Suguru Geto. Yet, he always seemed to hate you, even when you openly showed you felt the opposite.

The hotel lobby was quiet.

The boys were at the reception checking in as you sat next to Shoko. you look down at your feet, not knowing what you were really doing with Suguru and the others.

“Our rooms are ready.” A voice says, pulling you out of your trance. Suguru stares down at you. Heat rushes to you face but you stay silent, standing up and taking the keys out of Suguru’s hand indignantly and pulling Shoko near you as you all head into the lift.

“Alright! Let’s go Shoko!” you say, smiling at her. She stares at you, sympathy laced in her eyes.

Why was there sympathy in her eyes?

Could she tell? Could she tell the events of the morning and evening were eating you up inside? That no matter how much you try to deny it or try to leave him, he maintains king in your mind? He maintains the man who you stupidly fell in love with.

“10 am tomorrow okay!” Satoru says as you all move to our separate rooms.

“Okayy, don’t be late Satoru,” Shoko drawls out. He rolls his eyes as he enters the room besides ours; Suguru trailing behind him. You stand behind Shoko as she enters the room first, glancing at Suguru. His eyes met yours first before he closes the door of his room.

The room was cozy. Two twin beds with a television in front and a bathroom at the side. It was comfortable, much thanks to Satoru’s money. You seriously had to thank him for all the expenses.

You move inside the room, choosing the bed nearer to the window. The view must be beautiful in the morning. You lay down your trunk, opening to pull out some clothes and toiletries.

“So… what’s up with you and Suguru?”

You look up from my bag, staring at Shoko who stands in front of the bathroom, cigarette in hand as she looks at you. She didn’t have a readable expression on her face.

“I don’t think you’re allowed to smoke here, Shoko.” You answer, avoiding the question.

She moves nearer to you, as she sighs. “I’m not going to smoke in here. I’m smoking out in the balcony.” She answers, opening the sliding door beside your bed.

“You still haven’t answered my question.”

“There’s nothing between us.”

Animosity. Hatred. Annoyance.

That was what was between you and him. You follow Shoko as she smokes beside you out in the balcony. You admire the view around you as the cold air from the night sky hits your skin, sending goosebumps through you.

You glance at the balcony besides yours, the one connected to Suguru and Satoru’s room. The curtain was open. From your view, you couldn’t see Satoru, but you catch a glimpse of Suguru lounging on his bed, reading a book. Your eyes soften as they fall on him.

“Nothing is between you, yet you look at him like that.” Shoko interrupts, snorting at the statement. She still stared off to the distance, taking a puff from her cigarette. You stare at her, not saying anything as you know what she says is true. Unfortunately, you did like that idiot.

“You still like him, don’t you?”

“It doesn’t matter as he doesn’t like me back. He’s made it very clear that he hates me.”

Shoko keeps quiet, pulling out her phone. “He doesn’t hate you. He’s just a dumbass.”

Silence fills the air as you both have nothing else to say. You don’t know how to even respond to Shoko’s words. He didn’t like you. Hell, he was such a prick about it too. Even if he likes you, you doubted he had even realised it with how much of a jerk he was to you. You look at Shoko as she types on her phone. You sigh as you turn to take in the scenery. The cityscape was quiet but restless, you catch glimpses of people’s ongoing lives that hadn’t come to a rest even in the darkest and coldest of night.

Why were you so hung up on him? He doesn’t even pay you any attention. More so, even if he did like you, how in the world would you get him to realise it? Unbeknownst to you, Shoko was already starting another scheme with Satoru to get you and Suguru together and fix all your concerns.

Shoko 🚬 : It’s so obvious she’s in love with him and he’s in love with her. Can you like… make him realise he likes her or smth?

Satoru 🧑🏻‍🦳: I can try? Idk Suguru is like stupid in those kinds of things.

shoko 🚬: just try ur best. He can’t be that bad.

“You know I think he definitely has a thing for you.” Shoko randomly says as she blows her last puff of smoke, putting out the fire on the banister and smushing it under her foot.

You turn to her, eyebrows furrow. “Why’d you say that?”

“The way he looks at you. Sure, he’s incredibly rude and everything but I think he does like you. Just doesn’t want to admit it.” She moves inside the room, not looking at you as she walks.

You roll your eyes. “Don’t give me that pity talk.”

She sits down on her bed as you close the door to the balcony. “I’m not. Even Satoru thinks so.”

“Then why won’t he admit it?” You cross your arms, looking at her sceptically. Even Satoru thinks so? Surely not. Satoru, for all his foolishness and playfulness was incredibly smart, even if not academically (which he still somehow excels in), he’s good at spotting people and reading them. If he, someone who is best friends with Suguru and can read people so accurately thinks that Suguru likes you… maybe there was some truth to those words. Yet, Suguru had been nothing but rude and disingenuous to you.

“Beats me,” Shoko says, laying down on her bed. “Don’t worry though, Satoru and I have it all planned out!”

Your eyes widen as you move closer to her. “What do you mean by that?”

She grins at you. A giant grin that fit the smug look on her face. “You’ll see!”

You sit on her bed, pulling her up by her shoulder. She laughs loudly at you as you start shaking her. “Shoko, tell me!”

“Nope!”

Satoru sighs as he reads Shoko’s text message. He looks at Suguru who was beside him reading a book. How boring!

“Suguru!” He whines out, earning a glance from the long-haired boy. “I’m bored.”

“Do something about it then.” Suguru answers, turning back to his book.

“You’re no fun.” Satoru pouts.

How would he bring the topic of you and Suguru out? He really wanted to talk about it without having Suguru blow up on him or say something so vehemently wrong and stupid.

“Suguru.”

Suguru sighs as he closes the book and turns to Satoru who was staring at him with his bright blue eyes.

“Yeah?”

“What do you think about y/n, liken nowadays?” Satoru asks, looking in front where the television was mounted, even though it wasn’t turned on.

Suguru stares at Satoru, eyes widening a bit, unsure of what to say. He didn’t exactly know what he thought of you.

You were annoying and dumb at times but kind and genuinely fun to hang out with. Yet, he had a dislike for you. On what basis though?

“She’s alright.” Suguru settles on. “Why are you asking?” He asks suspiciously, unsure on the white-haired man’s intentions. Satoru isn’t the type to randomly ask about people without wanting something. Did he like her?

“She’s quite pretty you know? And the way she smiles is so… sweet!” Satoru decides on, looking at Suguru for a reaction.

Suguru’s eyes twitch as he hears Satoru compliment you. He didn’t know how to react to that. His mind falters back to all the times you had smiled at him. You rarely did it now but when you had first met… Gosh you had a stunning smile. Suguru felt his stomach turn as his mind lingered on your smile.

“I guess you can say that.” Suguru says quietly, turning to his book to hide from Satoru’s gaze. It was futile as the man was born with Six-Eyes and could immediately tell the shift in Suguru’s vibe.

“I mean like, I wish she would just smile at me more! She’s so pretty. And the way she’d say my name! Have you heard it Suguru? It’s so cute!” Satoru continues , trying to get a rise out of him. He grins at Suguru, finding it funny how his best friend still didn’t realise his impending feeling on the girl he claimed to hate.

Satoru had been there for every single heated rant about you. Every single anger filled words that slipped out of Suguru’s mouth, Satoru was there to take them and listen to them. Yet, he was never fully convinced that the curse-eater actually despised you. His words, sure there was nothing but hatred and malice in them but the way his eyes soften every time you entered the room only for him to quickly change them into a glare. The way he would sneak glances at you throughout every discussion. The way his jaw would clench every time another man would get too close to you. He liked you, yet he was just hiding it behind all that anger as a way to safeguard himself.

Suguru’s grip on the book tightens as Satoru speaks. He had heard the way you said Satoru’s name. The way you sometimes just shortened it to ‘Toru.’ It was disgusting. Vile. Why would you even call him that? And Satoru enjoyed it? It was so weird. Suguru didn’t feel right. Why was Satoru enjoying it so much? You gave way more attention to him anyway so he should be the one enjoying it, not Satoru. The way you said his name was softer, sweeter. It was sweeter than all the world’s sugar and honey combined. It didn’t make sense. Why was Satoru so over the moon?

You were his, not Satoru’s.

Suguru cleared his throat as his mind wanders, realising what he had just said to himself. He looks at Satoru who stares at him expectantly.

“Yeah. I’ve heard it.” Suguru says plainly. “It’s nothing special, she does that to everyone. She does it to me a lot.”

“My, Suguru, you jealous?” Satoru says, moving closer to Suguru, head tilting as a shit-grinning smile lay complacent on his face.

Suguru’s eyes widen as a tint of red develops on his face. He looks at Satoru, first in shock that he quickly changed to disturbance.

“Shut it.”

“You are! Oh my god, you like her don’t you?!” Satoru says, smiling widely as he leans back. Suguru keeps quiet.

“So… when are you gonna ask her out, hm Suguru?”

Suguru slams his books close as he turns to Satoru. “I don’t like her. I hate her.”

Satoru sighs, resting his head on the bed’s headboard.

“I know you Suguru. The way your eyes glance at her every time she enters a room, no, even the mere mention of her name is enough to make you glance up. You search for her. You falter every time she smiles at you. Every time she calls your name.”

Suguru stares at Satoru not knowing what to say. Satoru catches his gaze, giving a keen and smug smile. “You like her, you just don’t want to admit it because you’re scared you’ll break her.”

He hated to admit but Satoru was right. Shit, he was right. Did he actually like you? All this time? He had just ruined every minuscule percent of a chance he had with you. He didn’t want to watch you break like everyone else who has loved him.

“It’s alright, your best friend Gojo Satoru is here to help you!” Satoru says proudly as he goes to wrap an arm around Suguru, who pulls away, disgust evident in his face.

“No thank you, you’ll scare away every single women trying to date me.”

“Hey! I’ll let you know, plenty of women have come crawling to me for affection,” Satoru says rolling his eyes.

“Yet the one girl you want doesn’t want you.” Suguru says, a small smile on his face.

“Shut up! Utahime is an exception!” Satoru grunts, frustration on his face. “Whatever! I’ll help you anyway!”

“Please don’t.”

“Too bad!”

10 in the morning, the next day.

“They’re late.” Suguru says, looking at his watch. He wore a normal grey sweatshirt, his hair neatly combed back. Satoru was lounging on a lobby chair, glued to his phone.

“Texting Utahime?” Suguru asks sneeringly, moving closer to the white-haired man. He glances at his phone, it was opened to messages but he couldn’t read who.

“Shut up Suguru!” Satoru says jokingly, eyes still on his phone as Shoko continues to message him.

shoko🚬: why is our plan just to leave them alone together and run away to somewhere else?

“Hey, Suguru.” Satoru says, leaning back to look at his friend who was peering down on him.

“Yeah?”

“You want to go to that like… bookstore right?”

“Yeah? Why?”

He looks at Satoru, tilting his head, confused at what his friend was getting at.

“Nothing, just confirming.” Satoru mumbles, turning back to his phone. Suguru’s eyes trained on Satoru before turning back to the lift which finally opens, revealing you and Shoko.

Crap.

You wore a black sweatshirt with long black pants. It looked almost as if you and him were matching clothes. He clears his throat as his eyes scanned your figure. Did you do it on purpose? Just to rile him up?

Satoru restrains a laugh as he sees you, standing up from his seat to greet you and Shoko.

“Nice outfit. You look identical to Suguru. What? Are you a couple now?” Satoru asks, teasingly, his eyes gleaming even through his dark rimmed sunglasses.

Suguru glares at Satoru but couldn’t help but feel hurt as he saw the offended look on your face. Why was he hurt? He shouldn’t care about your feelings. You were just some girl. Some girl he was friends with.

“As if!” You scoff out, feigning offence before your face drops to a wide grin to Satoru.

“Anyways! Where are we going? Breakfast?” You ask, changing the topic. Your eyes move around the scenery, catching sight of Suguru who looks slightly saddened. You furrow your brows slightly, confused.

“Oh, we’re going to some bookstore that Suguru here wants to look at!” Satoru says, arm around his best friend’s shoulder as he makes a face of disgust and gives a thumbs down. You laugh at his actions.

Your laugh sent shivers down Suguru’s spine. He wanted to rewind the moment and listen to it over and over again.

“Hey, be nice! What bookstore do you want to go to? I want to look at some books too.” You say, turning to Suguru and giving him a smile.

Internally, you were screaming. You didn’t know how to feel about him, especially after all the new information that Shoko has spilled on you. You wanted to gauge if he actually liked you. Stupid sure, as he had never really shown signs of affection to you yet you thought it was worth a try. It was his best friends that told you this knowledge.

“Just some random one. I wanna see if it has this novel i want.” Suguru says plainly as his eyes focus on you. Satoru was right, your smile was beautiful. It was blinding. He looks away, moving to walk out of the hotel to ensure that his feelings for you don’t spill out then and there.

What the hell was wrong with him?

Just a week ago, he was convinced head to toe that all his feelings for you were negative and that he had not one ounce of love for you. Yet, now all the sudden he couldn’t even stand to look at you and see your smile on the basis it was too pretty?

Was he going crazy?

Did he actually like you? Gosh, he did like you. How pathetic. He likes you and can’t even say it.

You watch as Suguru walks off, Satoru quickly chasing after him. You turn to Shoko who shrugs at you.

“My point still stands.” She says, before following the two boys in front of her.

You stand there for a second processing everything for a second.

Why was he so goddamn hard to understand?

I actually !! Have !! A loose !! Concept !! For one !! But I haven’t written anything yet so I cannot offer you an excerpt for WIP Wed 😔 I can give the overview tho

Set when Aaron’s in med school/maybe his residency, and Kevin is playing pro.

Also welcome to the SALU (Shannen’s Aaron’s Literary Universe) where a Frequent Fixture is now his hugely queer biology study/friend group that Katelyn dragged him into. Like, as much as I am a big believer in Aaron & Seth & Matt being bros if given the chance, the unfortunate reality of the situation is Seth’s being deceased before they made amends makes that quite difficult in canon settings. And Aaron is just too much of a skeptic to be cracking the ouija out. Now with Matt, I think they did get on really well when they were roomies, but their lives head in separate directions after college. So. I want Aaron to have friends. That are not connected to his family. And I use OCs very sparingly as I know the reason people come to fanfic is for familiarity and characters they already know/love, but Bio Bunch™️ were well received and consequently I will be recycling them forever thanks (Aaron dated nurse Dylan in my sapphic WIP, Miles’ family adopted Jean and Elodie in my KevNeil AU so now he’s Jean’s lil brother, like literally they’re my standby bonus characters now)

All this to say. Aaron very much appreciates having friends. He was not very good at making them when he was little and going through the worst of Tilda’s abuse, and his teens were lost to a haze of drugs and pain where he had people he would speak to at school/on the team, but no one he was really friends with. Then he gets a brother! But oh no. Andrew doesn’t want him to have friends either and also Aaron kind of feels like he hates him so he’s still alone ☹️ - so to finally be at a point in his life where he has a close knit group of friends, people who actually like him and want to spend time with him for some reason!, it means a lot to him. He would not want to risk damaging those friendships. Especially because he’s not sure how to make new ones, he kind of just absorbed these ones via osmosis through Katelyn.

Which is why he panics when Dylan asks him out.

“Do you have a girlfriend?” he had asked, and Aaron, thinking nothing of it, had said: “No.” Because he doesn’t. He hasn’t dated anyone since Katelyn. Like, he’s been on his med school GRIND, y’know? Who has the time. And who can compare to her anyway?

“Would you maybe like to go out with me sometime?” Dylan then said, and listen, it’s not like Aaron is proud of what he did, but he panicked. He saw his friendless future flash in front of his eyes because he hurt Dylan’s feelings and it’s all awkward between them now and Aaron ends up iced out because he wrecked the vibe, and he panicked!!!

“Oh. Uh. I have a boyfriend though.”

And why the fuck did he even say that what the fuck what the fuck?!

But y’know it worked because Dylan got a sad little smile but nodded and said “lucky guy” and Aaron was like PHEW! Y’know, bullet DODGED! Except somehow this gets around their group, because wow one thing about having friends is apparently you’re not allowed secrets 🙄 (not that his relationship would usually be a secret but considering it is NONEXISTENT he would have appreciated people NOT KNOWING)

Of course Katelyn is on him like a rash because when has she ever let him get away with anything ever there is no peace in this world for him as long as they share space (he loves her more than anything). Immediately quizzing him on WHO he could be dating, because she knows he doesn’t really talk to anyone outside their friend group (because she knows everything about him shit how is he going to lie to her), and she is DYING to know who he has been hiding! (Like shit Kate me too guess we’re gonna find out together)

Consequently the panic continues as he speed skims through his mental catalogue of all the people he has ever actually communicated with who are not A) his family or B) already in committed relationships. And, listen, ok, here’s the thing. There are just not an awful lot of people in Aaron’s life who fit the cross reference of those categories. Really the only person he can think of is Kevin, and then he’s blurting out his name before the consequences of that action occur to him (🦋🦋🦋) because Katelyn KNOWS Kevin so there really should have been a C) someone Katelyn doesn’t know (though on reflection Aaron’s search results would have thrown up entirely blank with this addition)

“Aw, you always did have a crush on him.”

“What are you talking about?” No, because what is she talking about??? “No I didn’t.”

“You’re dating him now, why are you getting so defensive?”

He’s not getting defensive. He just thinks it’s an absolutely insane implication to suggest he has or ever will have feelings for Kevin Day. Except he can’t say that. Since that’s his fictional boyfriend now. Fictional on the boyfriend part. Kevin Day is unfortunately very real. A fact that has plagued Aaron’s existence ever since Wymack first brought that broken stray back to PSU.

Enter Kevin, truly baffled by this entire situation.

“Why didn’t you just tell him you’re not interested in guys?”

“Well, Katelyn knows I’m bi, so I couldn’t say that. Maybe he asked her first. Or she might mention it if it comes up.”

“Wait, you’re bi? Since when?”

“Since birth probably, can we focus on the actual issue at hand here.”

But like. This is Aaron. Aaron has never particularly been one to mince words. Kevin doesn’t know why he doesn’t just tell Dylan he’s not into him. Kevin’s been on the receiving end of Aaron’s attitude and bad manners more than often enough. 🤨 But after the truly painful and pitiful display of Extremely Emotionally Constipated Asshole Aaron Minyard trying to explain his newfound value for the Powers of Friendship, Kevin eventually agrees to be his fake date to a party with his friends. Like, whatever. It’s a small event with some med students, it’s not like they even have to be overly affectionate, or that this will get out anywhere. Then they can use Kevin’s busy work schedule as a reason he’s never around, and after a few months Aaron will just pretend they broke up. Easy.

Except photos get leaked to the media, outing Kevin. Instead of the career suicide he expects, he actually gets positive feedback. His PR rep encourages him to bring Aaron to a charity gala for a children’s mental health charity, thinking it could be positive rep for the kids to see a happy older queer couple as queer kids have higher rates of mental health issues. The team are doing some outreach with the actual kids before the gala - going down to play some games with them - Kevin doesn’t expect Aaron to come to this. He can just show up to the event, y’know, it’s basically just a free night out. They’ll just postpone their fake break up another couple of months.

But Aaron is like, uhm, excuse me. Did you even think to ask if I would want to come along to meet the kids? You know I’m going into peds, right? I’d much rather come hang out with the kids than have to rub shoulders with your snotty famous rich friends all night. Of course I’m coming to both of them.

So Aaron does come. Where Kevin is awkward and fumbling and never quite sure of the right thing to say (he never interacted with kids even when he was one???), Aaron is a natural. He’s excellent with them. They all love him within the first ten minutes, and it’s weird, because who is this? This is not an Aaron that Kevin knows. This is not a side of him he’s ever seen at school or around their family. It’s making Kevin feel all weird inside. In SOFT and GUSHY ways.

So they go to the Gala and both get a little tipsy, and whoops. Of course everyone thinks they’re a couple, so they’ve been given a room with one bed (because one bed trope supremacy ALSO 🙏🏻). Kevin thinks Aaron’s gonna be mad or upset, but Aaron’s giggly as he undresses. Which. Oh. Okay. Usually Aaron had weird hang ups about changing outside of the locker rooms. But now he’s. Shirtless. And his body has changed since college. Obviously. He doesn’t spend five days a week training anymore. He’s still kept some of his muscle in his arms and shoulders, and his legs have always been naturally strong, but he’s gotten a bit softer. Which Kevin realises he actually quite likes. And. Oh. Shit. Okay. He might actually be a bit attracted to Aaron. But. That’s fine. That won’t be a problem, right?

Is Janus meant to be a villain or not??? I'm assuming they are because they literally admitted to MURDERING clones we didn't see because they were "genetically inferior" (obvious disgusting behavior) and have generally been an extremely toxic presence in the lives of the other characters. but you've been giving kinda mixed signals?? I know there's nuance but I'm. Worried. Because I've seen commewnity artists reveal some very ableist and/or abuse-endorsing behavior/beliefs under a friendly facade and it's concerning me. I don't think YOU would do that, but a surprising amount of people completely missed the message of the first pokemon movie so. Idk I'm worried.

To put it very simply, Janus is not meant to be a villain. Janus was never meant to be an antagonizing force and if they come off as such then that is a failure on my part. I’ll do my best to address your concerns but again apologize if my explanations don’t clear it up 😔

Please keep in mind Janus stems a lot from the original translation of the first movie, where Mew does see clones as inferior beings. I won’t deny that originally this was Janus’ mindset when first introduced. This isn’t a view current Janus holds and I need this to be understood. They’ve grown since their introduction.

Though yes Janus did hold this view, it’s become very complex given their nature. Janus is parent to all life, even clones. They weren’t happy about the clones existing, but this stemmed a lot more from humans and their intentions which, more often than not, have never been good.

On an semi-related note, despite being more aggressive towards human made clones due to what corruption humans could pass onto them, Janus was shown to be (at the very least since they had not gone through any development yet) tolerant of Mnemosyne, even respecting their desire to live peacefully and offering to train them so they would be prepared when the mittens came.

Apologies if I am wrong, but I’m a bit confused as to what you mean by them being an extremely toxic presence. While admittedly Janus is not the traditional kind and bubbly many seem to expect from Mew characters, they haven’t gone out of their way to be an extremely toxic presence. If anything they’ve taken a more neutral/passive but positive leaning position. They’ve helped Mnemosyne, they’ve helped Calliope, they’ve helped Bellatrix, they’ve begun to put forth the effort to actually be in their son and granddaughter’s lives despite their rough history. Janus is trying to be better.

Unfortunately Janus is a character I fear I will never be able to portray correctly because they have a viewpoint that no one could ever hope to experience/understand. They’re old, older than time itself. Their perception of time and morality are complicated, yet at the same time they’re so detached from the mortal experience that they’re like an infant when it comes to their understanding of the complexities of life. However they’re allowing themself, through becoming involved in those complexities via the Mirage Island crew, to grow and learn.

I understand if you hate Janus for what they did and do not forgive them, I’m not asking that of you. All I ask is that you understand Janus is a deeply complex character, but they were never meant to come off antagonistic towards the Mirage Island crew, especially at this point in the story.

i miss you all so much, my goodness 🥹 shall we do a small life update?

partner moved in! my place was small to begin with so it's definitely a little cramped in here now 🥴 but we have our eyes on getting a bigger place when the lease is up. i'm super happy to have him around all the time, just sleeping in the same bed every night and sharing our meals together brings me so much comfort. it's been really wonderful!!

i turned thirty 😳 and honestly it... hasn't been a big deal at all lmao. i feel so excited to be entering this decade. i think i care a lot less about things that ultimately don't matter than i did in my twenties, and i feel a lot more sure about myself and what's important to me! plus i had a super-fun karaoke party with some of my favorite humans 🥰

i've seen so much kpop this summer, and it's not even over yet!!!! txt, itzy, ive, stray kids, ateez, and we have (g)i-dle, kard, and seventeen still to come before the year is through!! the shows have all been AMAZING, and ofc the best part is having friends come into town and getting to experience it together!! (and yes we did see lolla felix in person and no i have not recovered 😵‍💫)

and for the least-fun update..... health news 😔 after a whole bunch of concerning symptoms that were continuing to worsen over the last year, i sought out a specialist and got some tests run and have been diagnosed with ✨endometriosis✨ - and friends, this shit blows. i am on some new meds that we are hoping will help mitigate symptoms so that i don't have to have surgery (for now!), but the adjustment period has not been even a little bit fun, nor have the swirling unknowns about things like fertility or long-term quality of life. it's something i'm trying to give myself space to process and get adjusted to, bc even as someone with long-term mental health issues and adhd, adjusting to a chronic physical illness is a whole nother fucking ballpark. but i'm hopeful for an improvement with these new meds, and very lucky to have the best support system i could ever ask for - y'all know who you are 🫶

unfortunately, because of all these bullet points but particularly the last one, writing has continued to be at a full standstill. i am really hopeful that the inspiration will come back for me when it's ready, but for now i'm allowing myself to be in a different season of life and feel okay with that! i am still counting down the days til our boys come home (i quite literally am on the verge of tears every time i think about how SOON we will have hobi back MY LOOOOOOVE 😭😭😭) and i cannot wait to see what this next chapter brings, for them and for us!!

We sure can talk about Ellen and CAM, they are like mother and son, expect Ellen never knew that CAM would allow this weird bond to grow between them.

She was afraid of CAM upon meeting him the first time. She kept a low and docile profile; they all knew CAM was somewhat part of AM, or used to be, so following whatever he said was for the better.

But CAM didn’t came to torture them; he came to see AM and how pathetic he was being in his own misery. When he saw Ellen being the only woman, he immediatly took pity on her.

CAM always refers to Ellen as "Miss Ellen" as a sign of respect, often initiating small talk to keep distracted dispite him having trouble to hear her.

When CAM found out the "special" torture AM conditioned her mind to follow, he was filled with rage and disgust, not for Ellen, but for AM.

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU" Said CAM, gripping AM through the sides of his face, scrapping the flesh and metal of it.

"I DID NOT FORCE HER, I JUST... BROKE HER MIND ENOUGH TO CAVE UP TO HER OWN DESIRES HEHE..." AM's giggles drilled through CAM's mind, crushing his faceplate to shut him up for good, along with his robotic eye.

A low "asshole" could be heard in the distance, signifying AM's consciousness leaving the humanoid body to return to his disembodied state.

CAM teached Ellen sign language and a bit of chinese to further communicate correctly. He evens kneels before her to reach her eyesight.

Ellen doesn't understand why CAM is being so gentle with her, saving her from AM's tortures; but CAM thinks about himself as too weak to explain to Ellen how much she reminds him of his "Mother".

So, I didn't go in there with massive expectations. They wrote on their website there was no free food or drinks, you would have to buy it there. I mean, that's okay (?), I can see how managing snacks and drinks for a mass of people is a bit too crazy to offer it for free.

I was maybe hoping they would have free water, like, tap water in Germany is literal free and clean, but that's okay, that's fine. I mean, after all, you can bring your own bottle of wat-

Look, I am on depression meds, which drain me. On top of that, I have an awful blood circulation by default. Came with the appearance of my humble self 25 years ago, ya know?💪

We literally had to put this bottle of water outside, next to other unfortunate souls' bottles :')

Okay, cool, we are in now. A dancing ball where you can't bring your own water (which is a little shitty since if you dance, you want to hydrate afterward, right?). Well, good luck getting to the dance floor. The hall was full, stuffed with people. It was so crowded, you could literally only last 10 minutes there before having to catch a breath outside. There were no seats, no benches, only like 5 standing tables, which were small asf.

They clearly sold too many tickets. The location was a very popular one, with lots of events happening there regularly. If you manage this event, you surely could at least try to guess how many people will fit in there. Fit in there and are able to MOVE at a DANCING BALL.

It was also raining the whole evening. They especially said to bring umbrellas, as the weather cast didn't look good. We couldn't take out umbrellas in. We had to PAY for the wardrobe. €1 for the umbrella (one umbrella) and €3 for one backpack (Which we only got told 2 hours in the event. Yeah, apparently you cannot carry a normal-sized backpack). My friend got furious actually, because swords and weapon props weren't allowed, yet, we saw multiple people with swords and stuff, which they did not have to put in the wardrobe, but the umbrellas (because they could be used as weapons) were a big problem.

We carried no money with us, because we ate at home and had our bottle of water, thus not planning on spending more money than we already did on the ticket.

Oh yeah, the ticket was €63 ($68) for one person. For a ball where you can't move. At least the photo spots were nice. If you got a chance to take one with the queues.

Babsi wouldn't have had fun there :/

ANYWAY. The storylines of the nsbu chatacters they reflect are different from the actual show bc I'm not copying the characters exactly, but the movie plot is relatively the same

I don't have much in the way of an actual plot but here's some silly little ideas I have yayyy:

Syzoth does get hacked by his character similar to Usha, they DO bring him back thankfully but it's WILD

Syzoth is also the G13 character bc he's the only one of the six who in canon is not from Earthrealm and I thought it'd be funny if this guy is just Bad at technology for literally no reason

I chose the six people that I did bc four of them are the champions of Earthrealm and the other two are just silly billies. That's my main reasoning tbh

Liu Kang is not as. Unhinged? As Barsimion for the record, he's a lot chiller and acts like himself if he was just like. A tiny bit crazy and full of whimsy

Johnny and Kenshi's characters plots are intertwined I think. A spy and an FBI agent constantly at each other throats, it's also Super Gay (just like them 😁)

Raiden is the Kingskin character because I truly feel like someone should tell this man he's allowed to be selfish sometimes. Someone please let him know that occasionally he can be a bit selfish.

Tomas is the Jack Manhattan because I feel like he would act a lot like Paula does at times. Just like freaking out and saying insane shit. That's the main reason. ALSO BC HIM BEING A GRIZZLED LOOSE CANON DETECTIVE WOULD BE FUNNY

Johnny was definitely a little jealous of Tomas bc he got to be the detective guy, he learns to like his character tho I swear

man this scene makes my brain itch on so many different levels lmao, like on the surface level wtf wolfwood!! we’ve just had all these chapters explicitly digging into how vash has a Problem where he tries to hide his pain under empty smiles- and in fact wolfwood clocked that about him pretty much instantly back when they first met! so of course badgering him about ~looking sad~ (especially when he started the page with a neutral to mildly glum expression) is just gonna make him try harder to cover it up, and that’s exactly what he does with that stupid little smile on the second page 😔

but wolfwood’s whole point here is that that shit isn’t gonna work on him no matter how hard vash tries! unfortunately wolfwood is also emotionally constipated as hell, so it comes out as aggression and teasing rather than anything genuine.

actually i just gotta revisit that earlier moment here because the contrast is just fascinating lmao

like goddamn wolfwood really came in hot with the sincerity in that first meeting, how did we go from that to this?? was it just because they were strangers then, and wolfwood thought he could get away with saying shit like that because their paths might never cross again? this was also before ww got his assignment from Knives- did he not know this was the boss’s brother? he probably didn’t realize the twins’ inhumanity at that point either… he’s had a lot to grapple with over the course of this assignment, both re: the twins’ apocalyptic power, and the fact that he has to betray vash at the end of it, that would naturally create a need for emotional distance. allowing honesty and attachment with vash puts too much at risk.

so really, given that very high-stakes need for distance, it’s telling that wolfwood still can’t help expressing his awareness of vash’s suffering & investment in cheering him up, even if it comes out in such a ridiculous way lol

it also seems like a clumsy/oblique way of trying to reassure vash that he’s still a person? vash’s inhuman nature has come more to the forefront lately- losing control in the dragon’s nest, regaining the memory of all the death he caused in july, catching that bullet with a feather only for the whole town to turn against him for it- and it’s clearly been weighing on him. so wolfwood acknowledges that angle by calling him all those awful things- “the legendary devil gunman, the humanoid typhoon”- but immediately discredits them by pointing out vash’s softheartedness.

idk i also have one more little bit of brainrot about the moment they share leaving the bar, acknowledging that things are about to get serious with Knives

like goddamn there’s so much meaning packed into that exchange!! it’s the closest they really come to acknowledging their whole “you know i know you know” deal around wolfwood’s assignment. (hah, “i told you from the start…”, fuck. ) like, openly telling vash that knives sent him would break the plausible deniability that wolfwood is simply fulfilling his mission, and that would put the orphanage in danger. at the same time, he has been 0% subtle and never actually *lied* to vash about it either- the few times vash has asked direct questions, wolfwood has given him vague answers or conspicuous silence and allowed him to draw his own conclusions.

so this seems like their weird twisty way of setting mutual expectations for what’s going to happen next. wolfwood is vash’s “guide”, no more and no less- he has enough insider information to bring vash safely to his brother’s door, but past that point wolfwood will stay out of the confrontation. it’s the one thing wolfwood and both brothers all agree is best, whether they like it or not. god wolfwood’s face in that last panel kills me

My Hogwarts Legacy AU: Part 2, Sebastian Sallow

Soooo y'all already know I made a vote thing, and the goal was to figure out who to start off with to further go. . . Into depth about their relationship with my MC, Rory. Unfortunately for me, Y'all made it a tie between Sebastian and Ominis (thanks A LOT GUYS 😔). So I spun a wheel and Sebastian won, So I'll start off with him 💥

First Impression:

Sebastian:

☆First thought? He thought they looked like someone he would want to be in cahoots with.

☆That Scar on their face? Bloody Brilliant!!

☆They even managed to best him in a duel as a first timer! Color him impressed!

☆Maybe they might be the perfect person for a rather disclosed Dueling accosiation if ya know ya know. . .

Rory:

☆LowKey wasn't a big fan of him first time round, too cocky for their taste

☆It honestly felt good to take him down a peg in dueling

☆Being invited to a secret dueling accosiation wasn't expected but, They do like the adrenaline when dueling. . .perhaps they'll give it a shot

Overall Dynamic/Relationship:

☆They give Hermione and Harry ngl, Smart and Smartass.

☆Rory would def be less friendly/trustful with Seb then someone like Natty. As much as they appreciate the things he's done, he isn't exactly what they would call immediately trustworthy. Takes longer then the other cast to gain their trust

☆Sebastian (in my au) also doesn't seem to know when to quit. Pushing Rory's buttons to get a reaction which can lead from a smack on the back of the head, or maybe his hair or school robes catching aflame

☆Despite their clear misunderstandings, and ups and downs, they are good friends. What can you say, Beating up Goblins and discovering the mysteries of a Tryptic can do that to people. They would do that comical thing where they argue while fighting back to back or something 😭

In the Shadow Questline:

☆I am way to lazy to explain every aspect of the whole dart arts Sebastian Questline thing, so I'm keeping it to the main points

☆During the whole Scriptorium quest, Rory did learn Crucio. At the time, they thought it was logical to learn it, giving their. . .current situation. However, they allowed Sebastian to cast the curse on them.

☆But besides Crucio, Rory was againdt learning the other curses.

☆Rory would definitely be more adamant and pushy with Sebastian to listen to them and Ominis then the way they speak in game. I always found it odd how the MC doesn't explain the deal they made with Ominis when finding the relic

☆Rory would 100% be like. "After this no more, or i will SMITE YOU."

☆just like in game, Sebastian doesn't listen. Yada yada bushit he ends up killing his Uncle, now here's where it gets juicy!

☆Despite growing a emotional bond with Sebastian, Rory thought the right thing to do was to tell the headmaster about what happened. They tried to stop him, even if they didn't like his Uncle in the slightest, he didn't deserve death

☆However, (in my AU) Ominis was the one to persuade Rory against it. Saying Anne should make that decision, after a bit Rory agreed. Doesn't mean they'll leave Seb without SOME kind of reproduction.

☆After that, Rory didn't speak to Seb that much. They were still kind of pissed at him for not listening like a MOONMIND.

☆It wasn't until they got a verbal apology that they sort of relented, promising that they are still pissed. And he did still have Hell to pay, but went back to speaking to him more again hooray!!

After Storyline/Future:

☆After the Battle of Hogwarts, Seb was. . .worried to say the least. One of his best friends was stuck in the hospital wing for a week for Merlin's sake!

☆As soon as student visitors were allowed in, he was one of the first to visit

☆Merlin they looked, sort of different. They always had that certain. . .spark in their eyes which could only be described as pure Perseverance and Determination. But that spark seemed to have dimmed a bit

☆They still acted like themself, making a snarky comment to him every so often. He stayed and got informed about what happened below the school, what happened to Fig. He ofc vowed to be there if they needed it

☆Once they were out of the hospital wing, he tried his best to push their buttons less. They had clearly been through enough already

I absolutely agree that actively hating on JK is veryyy uncalled for when we can see Jikook doing great and we don't have all the bts information. Lately, though, I've also seen a lot of Jikook accts minimizing what happened to FACE and Jimin. Celebrating JK's achievements is one thing but I cannot stand to see jkks of all ppl downgrading what happened to Jimin and his records as they're broken by the extra push the company gives JK. Everyone is speculating and trying their best to understand things and for some, that's sidelining Jimin as an accessory to make it make sense. There needs to be fair discourse in all sides of this community without romanticizing the darker parts of it. It's not JK's fault and we don't know all, but we still need to be able to talk about it. Like the fact that some of LC's numbers disappeared right when Seven needed space on the Korean charts. The fact that the FACE wasn't restocked for months when seven was in ready supply almost every week. What happened to LC and the rise of Seven is related even on a minor scale. This is a fact. Some accts were so focused on debunking videos, and celebrating JK that the topic of where Jimin's award nominations and streams are going became taboo because apparently "Jimin is happy as a cheerleader" ...what?!

Actively hating is way too far I agree but all I'm saying is we should still be able to talk about the inequality regarding them as individuals and how that relates to Jikook as a whole. Believing in Jikook and discussing these things should not be mutually exclusive. Everyone has their own opinions. - lifesteal spoilers but during the final peace trial ash actually Really did not want to kill squiddo and apparently only accepted it when he was allowed to give them back the heart (ive only heard about this from 4c's pov so it might be inaccurate but i think squiddo will have it in her next video so. Yay)

- when squiddo got immortality in s5 apparently her and ash could toggle each others immortality. Like they literally held each others lives in the palm of their hands

- they were going to move far away to somewhere nice after the 'bad guys' were defeated (also in s5) and were going to be roommates. Ash said he was going to make friends with her allay 🙁🙁🙁😔😔😔 unfortunately they chunkbanned each other

- my personal favorite stream ever was the two of them talking about fnaf and playing dti for two and a half hours. They were supposed to be practicing for mccr

In summary i really like them they are the best friends ever..... huge huge fan of m/f friendships esp them.....

Link Character Analysis Pt. 1

Child Link

Just as a little note here, by “Child Link” I am talking about the child version of Link from BOTW

What was he like?

Unfortunately, we don’t know much about Child Link in game besides what we learn from the Mipha memory and Mipha’s Diary (BOTW DLC):

- He’s described as “curious and full of energy with a ready smile”

- Has “exceptional swordsmanship” only at “about 4 years of age”! AND he was literally going against adult knights and even beat them! Why that was allowed, I’ll get to that later…

- He’s very impressed by magic!

Where did he live?

Ok. This one’s an unpopular opinion for some people but here’s what I found.

- According to Creating a Champion (pg. 376) , Link had likely started his childhood in Hateno Village.

- HOWEVER, also according to Mipha’s Diary, the KING sent a group of knights to the Zora Domain. The same group of knights that Child Link was with. MEANING that even though Link may have at least been born in Hateno Village, he must’ve ended up in Castle Town, where he spent the rest of his childhood, gaining traction as a gifted swordsman.

Link’s Family

I may be cheating a little on this one, but by also looking at past Zelda games, I can kind of piece together what his family is like.

- In Memory #11 (Shelter From the Storm), Zelda makes the first mention, probably in Zelda game history, of Link’s father who was a knight.

- Although I’m sure Zelda was talking about Link when she gives the comment “Your commitment to the training necessary to fulfill your goal is really quite admirable,” I think she was also still comparing Link to his Father’s journey of becoming a knight. According to Creating a Champion, Link is NOT of nobility. And unlike all the “likelys” and “maybes” that this book says about most of Link’s past, this information is for certain. Therefore, Link’s father would have had to work HARD to rise the ranks to be personally asked by the King to go to the Zora Domain with the other Hyrulian knights with him.

- Strangely enough, just a few paragraphs before this, Link is said to be born into a line of knights. These could also probably have been Hateno knights too

- This is the point where I’m slightly cheating. In the Japanese version of Creating a Champion, there’s a whole TWO PAGES of concept art that us English speakers are missing out on. 😔 On one of those pages, we can see an image of a (what looks like) 12 year old Link with an older man and a little girl. The man may look older than a father but, after what Zelda said, this can likely be Link’s Father!

- And the little girl would likely be Link’s little sister! Unfortunately, there’s no evidence in the game that Link had a little sister, but after looking at the Wind Waker game for reference, I have a feeling this girl is supposed to be BOTW’s version of Aryll. She even looks like she loves Cucco’s while Aryll in Wind Waker loves seagulls! I could go on about what this means for Link and his backstory, but then that would be touching “spoiler territory” for my duology, and I don’t want to do that just yet!

Link’s Childhood Friends

Most of Link’s friends that are mentioned in game are actually Zora! Although I’m sure he had some Hylian friends as well.

- Bazz: Was the leader of the Big Bad Bazz Brigade (BBBB). Link trained him sword fighting (or at least the “art of the blade”).

- Rivan: him and Link used to swim together when they were kids. Also a part of the BBBB

- Gaddison: her and Link used to play together as kids. She was also part of the BBBB, known as the heroine.

- Mipha: she used to heal Link whenever he would get hurt in training.

I’m not adding Kodah to the list because (I assume!) she didn’t “befriend” him until he was older

unfortunately I can't find a clip of Bazz talking about the BBBB, but believe me that it's in the game!

Zero versus One

The most intense argument I've seen was between people who agree fairies don't exist, but disagree that a fairy is less likely to knock than a walrus. Why is that?

The odds of a walrus existing AND knocking on my door are A × B.

Unfortunately, the answer is math 🎉

Let's say the odds of a walrus existing are some value, A, and the odds of a walrus, assuming it exists, knocking on my front door are some value B.

Likewise, the odds of a fairy existing are some value, C, and the odds of a fairy, assuming it exists, knocking on my front door are some value D.

The odds of a fairy existing AND knocking on my door are C × D.

Now let's assign some values! I'm gonna say walruses are pretty likely to exist: A = 99%. (Let's not go crazy here; I've never seen one.) Now, I live on the first floor near a port, but even so it's wildly unlikely for a walrus to reach my door and knock. Let's call it B = 0.1%. (Generous, but bear with me.)

The odds of a walrus existing AND knocking on my door are A × B = 0.99 × 0.001 = 0.00099 or 0.099%.

Okay, now the fairy! Well, I think the odds of a fairy existing are extremely low: C = 1%. But, given the assumption that fairies do exist, it's not implausible for one to reach my door and knock: D = 25%.

The odds of a fairy existing AND knocking on my door are C × D = 0.01 × 0.25 = 0.0025 or 0.25%.

Hey, 0.25% is higher than 0.099%! The fairy is more likely!

The Full Skeptic

This works because I set C at 1%. I am allowing the possibility, however faint, that fairies might exist. Now, I can tweak C based on how likely I think fairies actually are to exist. I can also tweak that extremely generous B value for the walrus. Maybe I was too generous about the fairy meeting, D, as well. (I feel good about the 99% odds on walruses being real.) But as long as I don't change anything to zero, I will in all cases be comparing two pretty small numbers, and it doesn't take a lot of fairy belief to trump an extremely small walrus transport belief.

But let's say I am a dyed in the wool skeptic. Fairies are impossible. I will not allow the possibility that they exist at all because magic isn't real. The odds of a real, genuine, can-prove-it-with-magic-and-I'll-know-it fairy existing are zero, 0%.

Every other number can stay the same, but C × D is now 0.0 × 0.25 = 0.0 or Zero Percent. It's just not possible. I don't care how high your D value is nor how low your B value. The fairy will always be zero and you cannot go lower than zero. The walrus can be fully impossible and you'll just end up with two equal zeros.

I think the most intense arguments I'm seeing are not between the Believe-in-Fairies crew and the Don't-Believers, but between the 0- and the 1-percent believers. Both will tell you they don't believe in fairies. Both may think they're arguing from the same base assumptions because of that.

But the difference between 0% and 1%, or even between 0% and 0.000000001%, is the difference between "fairies don't exist but a fairy is more likely to knock than a walrus" being a fallacy vs just a bit of fantasy.
