I, uhh, did some storyboard practice using a scene I wrote. Yeah, it’s a prequel to a prequel. I think I sort of figured out how to draw Skeksis characters but Mystics remain impossible to me.
Here’s some frames I think were fun on their own:
I have so many ideas floating around in my head about this so please feel free to comment or DM me!
3D render I made of the first edition of the Dark Crystal Novelization! I really love how this turned out. It’s simple, but effective. I used photos of my own copy for the base :3c
Made my beloved bf Atlas_Moon, a couple of Dark Crystal ocs.
I adore them already.
A bit a lore for ya'll
---The Archivist---
SkekLas was a former archivist from within the crystal castle, as they have been caught stealing original texts from the other skeksies, the last straw being one of the lord's personal journals.
Was left outcasted, but he rebuilt his archives once more, collecting any pieces of original scribes and literature, maps and so on, across Thra. With all he has collected, he refuses to share any of it without a steep cost. He strives to hoard all the knowledge in Thra's history and so on. By any, means...
---The Librarian---
UrRo is SkekLas' counterpart, being a librarian of sorts. While remaining true to his mystic ways, wishing not to intervene with the happenings of Thra, UrRo is a passionate mystic on sharing and collecting written stories. SkekLas hates this. While not much in his burrow is of the skeksis' interest, if there is ever an original print anything, SkekLas will seek it out. Thankfully, the worst he's done was waste a half a trine basically screeching and scratching at his door for an originally published gelfing novel about the lords of the crystal.
Guess what movie I watched and loved and watched again and loved even more and then binged the prequel series of and then watched again wiser and more knowledgeable and completely obsessed within the span of like a week?
I literally cannot believe that I never saw The Dark Crystal growing up (although I am certain it would have traumatized me)! The film and the series give me such a strange and striking feeling of nostalgia, even though I’ve only just seen them for the first time! It’s so rich in inspiration and imagination I can tell I’m going to be thinking about it for the rest of my life.
