An ominous mixtape blends never before seen snuff footage with nightmarish newscasts and disturbing home video to create a surreal, analog mashup of the forgotten '80s.
Someone replied to me on Youtube with another interpretation. It's not that Dreamkill from V/H/S/85 takes place in the Black Phone universe, it's that Black Phone takes place in the V/H/S universe. This is infinitely funnier because it means that not only is all the fucked up shit from every vignette throughout the entire V/H/S series happening in the same world, but also that this relatively tame story with a happy ending is happening alongside the graphic mutilations and zombie outbreaks and Aztec gods and Raatma.
