Although ending where Sora loses was said to be created as something for players to watch even if they lose, Sora's crystallization might be a reminder of some kind to Yozora, due to it being in line with some goals of FF15/VS13.

In FF15 within the crystal exists a different realm where resides Bahamut, who doesn't appear in the main game until Noctis enters the crystal. What is similar to Bhunivelze, who by the time of FNC games is asleep in a crystal in realm of gods and in FF13 doesn't appear until awaken.

Aside from possibility of Noctis being given a Focus in VS13 to take part in Bhunivelze's awakening through other actions like characters were in FF13, which in FF15 might've been changed to Prophesy. He might've been requested in some way by Etro, as lyrics of "Somnus" refer to Bhunivelze "The God sleeps." Also lyrics of "Omnis Lacrima" repeat or rephase lines from "Somnus" "Our master has succumbed to endless sleep." Yozora being told to "Save Sora" might be analogous to either.

The situation of a character who Yozora might be reminded of through crystallized Sora, in KH terms might be compared to a mix of Riku being chosen as avatar by Jiminy's Journal, due to similarity with Hope being chosen as avatar by Bhunivelze. And Sora being asleep in a Pod while Namine fixes his memories, as his awakening has conditions like Bhunivelze's.

Back cover of VR game box might be adding to both through lines "That's the story of King of Truth," King of Truth≈King of Light≈God of Light, Bhunivelze might be called main character of FNC myth as it starts and ends with him. And "Reclaim your heart," which might be referencing FF15's slogan "Reclaim your throne." What in this case makes neither of these 2 lines from VR game box ultimately being about Yozora.

I really like the idea of Streli in particular being just this insane wildcard from Yozora’s perspective. The VR characters have no context for her actions so seeing a stubborn little 12-year old girl bulldoze through your plans on her way to reuniting with her brother would be crazy to them if their usual setting is anything like vs 13/ff15

yeah! I think it’ll be really interesting to see the relationship between strel and Yozora when the game comes out too

OK HOLD UP I THOUGHT OF SOMETHING so i was thinking about verum rex, as you do, and figured that since nomura couldnt get his versus XIII i like to believe hes going to make a KH spinoff and i was spitballing some names and i mean, the most obvious one would be Kingdom Hearts Verum Rex, right?

What do you think KH without Nomura would be? Do you think it'd better? Or (as people are theorizing for 4) with less Disney? Would the story be better and more mature if it was FF-centric? What are your thoughts?

I don't think Kingdom Hearts would be possible without Nomura and if it was it would fucking suck.

Kingdom Hearts isn't good just because of the concept. Quite frankly the concept is a mess and shouldn't work, but it does. And that's because of the heart and effort put into it from Nomura and his team. He genuinely enjoys this insane tale he's created and that goes a long way. People calling Kingdom Hearts Nomura's fanfic are right because that's the same kinda love and devotion it gets from him.

Really, who else would've put this much dedication into this series as he has and if there was someone else would it come across as even a tenth as genuine? This series is very all over the place and honestly that's part of a charm. Sure, maybe someone else could've made a very concise and clean version of Kingdom Hearts, but would it have been any good? Isn't part of the fun in Kingdom Hearts 1). how ridiculous it is, and 2). all of the pieces falling together after so many years and the pay off being fucking awesome? "Whiplash" is a defining characteristic of Kingdom Hearts. I love it and I don't think we would have anything similar to the current Kingdom Hearts without Nomura, especially considering the Final Fantasy elements and TWEWY / FFV13 being included now. It just wouldn't happen with someone else.

I've talked about it before somewhere but as it stands now, I think Disney is still necessary to Kingdom Hearts and don't think Kingdom Hearts being "mature" and "dark" automatically makes it better. Kingdom Hearts is special because while it can be very grim and serious it is also very silly and heartwarming and taking away either of those makes it lose something very important. It's why Sora is the main character and his personality is going to be vital to the way the series is going, unarguably much more mature, because he is such a kind and well-natured person. Sora will be foiled with the heavier tone of the saga because of the VR / Yozora stuff and that will make 1). the dark stuff seem way darker and 2). keep it from getting unbearably depressing. Do you think anyone would care that children were being murdered and experimented on if Mickey Mouse's face wasn't on the cover? Or the other way too, do you think people would sit through Disney Town and be happy with it if it wasn't followed by Xehanort body snatching Terra and Aqua falling in hell for ten years? Without the dark stuff Kingdom Hearts is just another kid game and without the light hearted Disney stuff it's just literally any other RPG, one among thousands that doesn't stick out because they're all the same at the end of the day. Kingdom Hearts being this strange concoction of Disney and Anime/RPG is what makes it stick out and stick in people's heads, it needs both.

And even if some day Disney is dropped from it (however the hell that would happen), it would fail if they didn't keep the Light vs Darkness, being a good person is the best, my friends are my power, give me strength stuff. Friendship is the main motivator for literally everyone in Kingdom Hearts and I feel like people forget it is and not death and sadness

I think most other people are gonna need this next game to really get an understanding of Kingdom Hearts again since we're moving past what everyone already knows and I am personally certain Disney will still be involved. The Fairy Godmother is literally the MVP and going to be important as she's the one who rules over dreams lmao but I think too many people are sure that just bc there's a Noctis look-alike now that means bye-bye Mickey Mouse but I just want the game to come so they'll realize they're wrong, esp since if anything Disney stuff will be even more important and well interwoven with KH lore but lol

In terms of my current portrayal of Yozora, the content we’ve gotten is actually consistent to the lore I’ve written for him, and I’m in the process of writing an updated headcanon post, post-Re/Mind. 

I’ll remain ‘canon-compliant’, until the canon portrayal of Yozora deviates too far from what I currently have for him. Most likely I’ll have a “canon” verse which follows Nomura’s lore and vision for him, and my current verses as an open “AU” with a select few that have built their VR verses around my lore.

• That “Face Your Fears” song in the beginning

• ROXAS

• The name changes lol. Axel is Lea?? wild

• TOY STORY AND HERC AND EJFNWJDJS

• Sora VA is funny. idk his voice gets me.

• Sora calling Hades the “H-ster”

• Verum Rex only being in a commercial in the game. It’s nicely animated.

• Rex screaming “Yozora” when he sees Sora, which I believe is a mix between Noctis and Riku in the VR commercial

• The old Toy Story music :”)

• THE ATTRACTION ATTACKS. YOU GOT TEA CUPS AND WATERSLIDES AND THE BOAT—

• Team attacks are wholesome

• Little Mini Easter Eggs like the little “Cooking Mama” type minigame, the Black and White movie with Sora and Mickey, Mickey’s symbol being everywhere and deemed as a “good luck charm”

• The keyblade designs (I have the Deluxe Edition and it came with the art book. The designs are beautiful)

• The pin that I will NEVER OPEN

• The fabric poster that I will NEVER BE ABLE TO PUT UP

• Riku’s playstyle. So far I only used him once and that was with Mickey and Riku is so fun to use.

If Cars will be in KH4 and if it will be timeline of Cars 3 or after, it might be so fitting on multiple levels.

Cars 3 has dual protagonists, Lightning McQueen and Cruz Ramirez, who might be paralled to Sora and Riku or Sora and Strelitzia. With Jackson Storm as antagonist being paralleled to Yozora, but at the same time, main antagonist for McQueen isn't Jackson, but Sterling, who might be like MoM.

Before Noctis' name was revealed, based on Nomura's like to name characters after weather phenomena like Cloud and Squall, Noctis was nicknamed "Storm."

Jackson's racing number is a summ of Nomura's favorite numbers 13+7=20.

Color designs of McQueen/Cruz and Jackson are like inversions similar to KH and VS13/FF15/VR, where in KH's palette colors are predominant, while in VS13/FF15/VR's black and white are predominant.

Jackson has a huge ego, while a part of Noctis' might've not made it into FF15.

Initially Jackson was a cybersportsman, which got blackmailed by a businessman who organized a game tournament to find racers for his team. Noctis along with Prompto is a game geek. With Ardyn being VS13/FF15 antagonist, trickery is what happens to Noctis a lot.

Jackson having good technique from VR-racing but not being as skilled in real life one fits Chocobros' theme of them growing up in Insomnia and not being prepared for the life outside of it.

Since KH4 will have a theme of bloodlines, Cruz's theme of not fitting in on the track might fit Sora. But it's harder to say which McQueen's themes then might fit Riku in KH4 period, as it's the worst time for him to anyhow step down. Although McQueen giving Cruz his number for her to race in his place might serve as a callback that it was Riku who Sora received his Keyblade from.

If to consider possibility of Sora and Strelitzia being paralleled to McQueen and Cruz. Sora has an ability to dive in and everything turns out somehow, but Strelitzia has very low self-esteem and in Ux she essentially was killed before she could do anything.

At the start of the movie Cruz works for Sterling, what might be related to Strelitzia possibly working for MoM and Sugar Rush story in Ux.

Jackson might be described as what McQueen might've been, if Cars 1 didn't happen and he didn't get lost in Radiator Springs. With it being sometimes wondered about Yozora, what if he's like Sora who was like Riku all along. It might be fitting to compare Riku and Yozora to McQueen and Jackson, that Riku's bratty side already got washed off him through the events of KH1-KH2, while Yozora's didn't get yet.

If to stare at VS13 enough, the scene between Jackson and McQueen might be double seen as "Storm" being angry at "Lightning," that they got a "life," but he didn't.

Nomura's master plans might be writing themselves at this point.

I like to think the gang likes the genre of rock music, even attempting in a band in high school which didn't go anywhere but still fun tho!!

But I can see them listening to Christian rock and alternative rock music, Stella putting them onto it of course.

The gang also loves musical songs!!

Yozora can sing but charges for money if so..

He can also play the piano, harp and violin only because Stella did and he wanted to impress her.

Magia knows how to play the drums and has been since a baby. His parents even have a video of it. ^^

Aegis did a lot of singing and did some performances at small bars with his guitar. (One they're old enough to go to)
