When Helaena informed you that she and her brothers had been planning to visit India, you were over the moon with joy. You animatedly told your mom, who offered that they could stay over the boys could crash in one room and Helaena could crash with you. Since Aegon was also coming with them, you refused, saying that they were ultra rich and maybe they wouldn’t like staying in your humble house - which was also partly true. And they were arriving today, in a couple of hours.
You dab the blush onto your cheek, getting ready for a family friend’s wedding. You asked your parents to stop by the hotel they were staying in for a short while before heading over to the wedding, and here you were trying to get your eyeliner right because how could you not be extra at a desi wedding?
Helaena had already landed by the time you left your house in a rush, not attempting to style the dupatta with the black sequined lehenga that you wore. The blouse was short, stopping a little below your boobs in a tube-top-esque fashion and long heavy matching skirt. Your jewellery was of fine white gold and long stone earrings. You even wore a silvery bun cuff on your effortlessly-messy updo.
Your parents waited for you outside of the extravagant hotel as you searched for any platinum blond hair. The silver bangles on your wrist clink as you lift your skirt a little to run to the reception, asking about Helaena. You were out-of-place here in the rich-people place, but presently you didn’t give a fuck.
The receptionist gives you a once over, but is polite enough to guide you to the second floor on the left section. Rooms 2L09-2L12. The cost of one room would be more than the rent of houses out there, you think as you step out of the lift. The floor is polished marble so smooth that you can see yourself reflected.
To your luck, you spotted Aemond first, standing on a fork to your left, and rushed your heart beating in your chest. But Helaena stepped out of the fork too, speaking with the bellboy and you called her name. The siblings turned at the sound of your voice, eyes wide as they took in your appearance.
You run into Helaena’s open arms and squeeze her. You couldn’t believe that they were right here in the flesh. “Gods, I am so happy to see you!” you squealed. She is dressed in a comfortable yellow tee and shorts, looking very tired but happy.
“Me too!” Helaena said, stepping away. Seemingly had enough of close contact for a month. “You look…”
“Magnificent, per usual.” A smooth voice adds, making you look at the polished marble. “Hi,” he says again, the sound of your name on his tongue sickly sweet. You want to hug him too, but don’t think it would be appropriate in front of his sister.
“Hi, Aemond,” you said, finally finding the courage to look up at him. Today, he’s dressed in a black polo shirt tucked in his khaki trousers. No less formal than the turtleneck and suit you had seen him the other time. His silver hair is half up in a little ponytail. An image of rubbing yourself against him, but force it away.
“Come in,” Helaena holds your wrist and drags you into her suite. “Aemond, you can join us too, just sort that out.”
A ghost of a smile graces Aemond’s features, his one eye half closed. As you entered the magnificent suite. You repeatedly told yourself to not stare. This one suite was bigger than your whole house. And from what you could tell, this was for Helaena alone. It’s good that I didn’t invite them over. “Where are you headed to after this?” Helaena asks, not-so-discreetly eyeing you.
“Oh, a wedding.” You say. “The son of my father’s colleague is getting married.”
“You look like you’ll outshine the bride.” Helaena says.
“Not a chance,” you say. “Honey, there’s no way you can outshine a desi bride, on her own wedding of all places. If it was one of my cousins getting married, I’d have taken you. You should see at least one desi wedding.”
“I’ll be certain to attend yours,” Helaena teases with a suggestive glint in her eyes.
“Of course,” You grin, not giving into her teasing antics. “I wouldn’t dream of getting married in your absence,”
“Helaena, where is Aeg- ” A voice that you don’t recognise calls, stopping at the sight of you. “Sorry, I didn’t know you were expecting company.”
“Hello,” you say, looking at the young boy with the signature Targaryen silver hair and purple eyes. He holds a certain innocence and self-confidence and you want to smother him with affection like one of your little cousins. “You must be Daeron,”
“Yeah, wow.” He says, as if he is struggling to find words. “Hi. You must be Y/N.”
You smile, stifling a laugh, but Helaena full on bursts out laughing. “Not you too, Daeron. Didn’t you want to ask her about computer science?”
“Oh yeah, yeah.” Daeron shakes his head, and composes himself. “Hello Y/N, it is great to meet you. People have told me to come talk to you about Computer Science. You seem like the best one out there.”
“That is a big fat lie,” You say. “But I can try to help you with anything. Tell me, what grade are you in?”
“Eleventh Grade, starting after the holidays.” He proudly says. “I still have to fill out my forms though.”
“You can talk later about the boring stuff,” Helaena says. “Come Y/N, tell me what have you been up to? You looked so lovely in the pictures you posted last night.”
“Nothing, actually. I was at home getting bored so I dressed up.” You tell her. “Also, I am currently in a time crunch and have only fifteen minutes before my parents start getting angry at me. We have to be there early so we can leave early.”
“Oh, that’s sad.” Helaena sighs. “I thought you could stay over for tonight, with me. It would be so much fun!”
“I’ll ask my mom about that,” you say, grinning awkwardly.
“Daeron, take some good pictures of us,” Helaena orders her littlest brother, handing out her phone. “If they are not good, I’ll beat your arse.”
Aemond is running up the stairs as fast as his long legs can to get some time to meet you. He knows you are in a rush and doesn’t want to make you wait, but you are already leaving Helaena’s room and waving her bye as he reaches the fork end. Daeron’s little head peeks out from Helaena’s suite, all shy waving at you. You flash his siblings your beautiful smile and turn, finally facing him.
An endearing blush dusts your cheeks as you spot him, smiling coyly.
“Hello again,” you say. “We didn’t get to speak at all.”
“Let me walk you out,” He offers, eager to spend any moment with you even though he is exhausted. To his eye, you are a glowing goddess, he wants to whisper sweet nothings in your ears, tell you how divine he thinks you are, but he holds back.
“What a gentleman,” you say, “Your mum would be so proud,”
“That’s the goal,” he chuckles softly. “So… you’d remember that I told you Professor Leyland assigned me Indian History as my project topic for this year, do you have any suggestions for a suitable location?”
“Well… it depends on what period of history you want to study.” You explain. “If you are more interested in the Delhi Sultanate and the Mughal Empire, Delhi and Agra would be good places to start. If you want to go back and study ancient civilisation, southern parts of India are favourable. I’d personally like you to go to Jaipur - it has a blend of both the rajput and mughal styles and a widely accessible resource base for your project work. Also, I have never been to Jaipur myself and would love to travel with you.” you winked at him towards the end, earning an endearing blush.
“Well, I must visit Jaipur then,” Aemond says, bumping into your shoulder lightly. “If such pleasant company awaits me,”
You were back at the reception now and hugged Aemond quickly before you left, smiling at him over your shoulder. He stands there, a rare blush colouring his pale cheeks crimson. She smells like the best fruits, he thought.
“Did you have a good time?” Daeron asks, winking as Aemond returned.
“Peachy,” Aemond quips, sitting down. He cannot stop smiling, still feeling the remnants of the hug.
“I didn’t think she’d be that beautiful.” Daeron sighs. “I forgot how to speak! Helaena, her pictures don’t do her beauty any justice.”
“Hey folks, what’s going on?” Aegon asks, leaning on the bathroom’s door frame. “I heard your little girlfriend came to see you, Aemond. You speak with her? You’re positively glowing.”
“Oh shut up, Aegon.” Aemond sighs, leaning back against the couch. “You got the pool view room now, did you not? Stop spoiling my mood.”
“The glow of a person in love!” Aegon says in a sing-song voice, swaying like a madman. Daeron joins him too, singing along with him. “The glow of love suits my brother so well. I’m in love - the beautiful, intelligent y/n - has stolen my precious heart and I cannot live without - ”
“Don’t you have anything else to do?” Aemond sighs, accepting defeat. He rubs his cold hands over his face in a weak attempt to gain some composure. “Must you torture me like this?”
“I am sure he is not in love yet,” Helaena muses, suggestively looking at them. “He’s not yet seen her play chess… Or the game that she designed.”
“She designed a chess game?!” the three brothers said simultaneously, incredulous.
“It’s a work in progress,” Helaena giggles, looking at their wide eyes. To Aemond she says, “Are you in love now, little brother?”
“I just might be,” He sighs again, falling on the couch. “My sweet Y/N.”
“The glow of a person in love,” all his three siblings repeated in that sing-song voice he loved to loathe. “Someone is falling in love,”
“I hate my life,” he muttered. I love these little shitheads, but I could also kill them.
.
It is now a good four days later that you stand in Helaena’s suite in the extravagant hotel, as she packs the last moment travel supplies - pads, tampons and a whole lot of paper towels and paper soap. You have your own bags ready for the trip - you suggested renting a car for the trip so it would be safer and easier to travel, the distance wasn’t too much and you’d be able to reach the hotel at nearly the same time. Also it was cheaper and you could carry more luggage.
You were surprised that your parents allowed you to go, but then again you were living half-way across the world most of the time, they probably trusted you.
Aemond is helping Aegon pack up, and Daeron sits on the couch outside Helaena’s bedroom, scrolling through his phone. Then in a rush all of you are ready and sitting at the reception with five minutes to spare. Aemond is doing one final check, listing items with the potential to be forgotten - chargers, earphones, phones, notebooks, pens, camera, soap, sanitizer, water bottles, map, google translate, watch, hair ties, comb, skin and hair care pouch, brushes, toothpaste and Aegon.
“You’re such a dad,” you commented, chuckling.
His pale cheeks turn a beautiful crimson at your chuckle as his siblings also joined in with their snickers. “Well, someone has to be the responsible adult here.” He says in defence. “Daeron is too young, Helaena is probably watching bug videos on her phone, worry isn’t a good look on you and… Aegon.”
“What did I even do?” Aegon puts his hand over his heart, feigning hurt. “I don’t do anything and he still treats me like this, you see, Y/N?”
“That is the problem, Aegon,” Aemond sighs. “Anyways. Do we have everything?”
“Yes, Dad,” Daeron exasperatedly sighs.
The drive to Jaipur was relatively peaceful, the siblings keeping their fights to a minimum. And you got to sit between Helaena and Aemond, gladly leaning in to his chest as you lazily spoke with Helaena. His large hand is on your knee, gently caressing and comforting. He’s so warm - it would be so easy to let everything go and just fall asleep on this human heater.
“Y/N!” Daeron yelled from the front seat. “Helaena told us that you are building a chess game! Tell us about it. What did you use?”
“Oh, just Unity and C#,” you say. At Aegon and Aemond’s confused expressions, you add, “Unity is a game development software. Anywho - it’s not ready to be used yet. There’s many errors and my chess proficiency seems to end there.”
“I am certain Aemond can assist you with that,” Aegon said, sitting in the back seat. “He’s quite the chess prodigy himself.”
“I have never beat him, not even when he was drunk.” Daeron adds.
“Are you?” You cock an eyebrow at Aemond looking up at the rare, easy smile on his face. “I could certainly use that skill set,”
“I’ll be glad to help you,” Aemond says. His heart thumps a little faster under your ear and you can’t help but smile. It was so easy falling into this routine.
.
They had arranged for the stay in another extravagant hotel - it had everything that you could imagine. The toiletries there were more expensive than your entire closet, you were certain of that. Even after your insistence that you get a normal room and not a suite - it cost like your monthly expenditure in King’s Landing - the Targaryen siblings booked you your own suite reassuring you that it wasn’t much. Each time you think that you understand just how filthy rich they are, they pull a tactic like this and it turns out they are even richer. Surely not all of their money was legal, was it?
You spent three days in the Pink City, visiting the Hawa Mahal, the City Palace and a one-day long trip to Amber Palace. Aemond was deeply interested in the history of each place and took down notes, asking you to translate whatever he couldn’t understand. He asked the local guides who were more than eager to explain the old tales to him - now that their pocket was full - and Aemond noted every last word that they said. You took the liberty and recorded the guide, knowing it would certainly be helpful in the future.
And you took a lot of pictures - so many with Helaena, Aemond, Daeron and even Aegon, who was a lot nicer when not inebriated. Your gallery was full of the targaryen siblings now - most occurring of them being Aemond. You loved your bug girl to death, but the way Aemond made your mind and body react was totally different. When sharing time came, you only shared a few of the shots that you had taken - you didn’t want to seem too weird with copious amounts of pictures that you had of him.
The high walls of Amer Kila and the gorgeous ceilings on the homely interior were in stark contrast to the intimidating stone walls on the outside. You were positively exhausted by walking all day, admiring the centuries old work visiting each room that you were permitted to see. Aemond takes so many pictures - of each room, of you in there, of his siblings - and you secretly click a picture of him. You think it’s endearing how invested he is in the history of this palace, how his one keen eye wanders about the room, drinking in every detail
You think then, he would have been too perfect, so the gods took his eye. It doesn’t matter that to you he is still a divine beauty, a fallen angel - something seraphic about his lilac eye and the sapphire in the other, to the world and himself he is imperfect because he is missing an eye.
It is way past midnight when you return to Jaipur. You bid everyone goodnight, but linger with Aemond, not giving a fuck about the cleaning lady of the corridor. You are sure that this isn’t the first late-night rendezvous she is witnessing.
Aemond’s good eye scans the hallway, gently wrapping his hand around your wrist as he pulls you to his suite and you stand there in the middle of the massive room with dimmed lights, looking at his ethereal face, admiring the way the Gods have chiselled him - you can tell they took their time crafting this fine specimen of the male species - and you don't hold yourself back as you rise to your toes. Don’t attempt to pull back as he leans down to you, don’t pull back when his warm breath hits your face.
You think he smells like the chocolate he had been sharing with you in the car as his lips are a hair’s breadth away from yours, and wonder if your mouth smells like that.
You don’t stop him when he brings his hands to the sides of your face, holding you delicately as if you are made of glass. You melt when his warm, sweet mouth collides with yours - you think you are dead and in heaven, or in a daze. Your hands grip at his narrow waist, holding him like he is the only person in the world, the only connection that you have to reality.
You pulled back for a breath, and then a switch seemed to have snapped in place as your mouths collided again - much harsher, tongues fighting and teeth clashing as you were desperate to taste more of him - his beautiful mouth tasting of the chocolate that you had just eaten. You are standing on his feet, his hands now on your waist and yours in his silken hair, tugging at it and he lets out a moan.
Aemond is snapped off his daze by his own moan, and he rests his forehead against yours, panting. “This was the best fucking kiss of my life,” he mutters on your lips.
“Mine too,” you breathe against him. “You’re the best kiss of my life, Aemond.”
The sound of your name on his smooth tongue and breathy voice is enough to send shocks of arousal through your veins, but the both of you hold back, too exhausted from the day and too wrapped up in the feel of each other’s mouth.
“I want to be yours,” Aemond whispers. “Will you accept me as yours?”
“Only if you take me to be yours,” you say with a smile.
You try to kiss once more, only to be interrupted by your own giggles. “You’re the prettiest little creature I have ever met,” he confesses.
“Right back at you,” you say, smiling widely. “The prettiest among men,”
“Will you stay here tonight?” He asks, voice small, hesitant. “I just want to sleep beside you.”
“Grab your change of clothes and let’s go to my room.” you whisper-giggle. “Wouldn’t want your siblings and my best friend to think we’re up to no good,”
He doesn’t let you go as he lets out a satisfied hum, gently swaying you both.

Do you have the word red in your wips? What about purple? And green? 👀
Yes, I have…a little😁
so, the word Purple is in my game-of-thrones-AU with Lewis and Nico who have two dragons:
Mercies met them at the very entrance, showering them with a cloud of warm steam, and gently nuzzled Lewis, almost knocking him off his feet. She looked at them curiously with a large black eye, gleaming with something purple in the depths, so similar to her father in this constant restless love of attention. Mercies escorted them deep into the cave, carefully sniffing each one and exhaling clouds of hot breath on them to rid them of all unnecessary, in her opinion, smells. She allowed them to take care of each other only when Quicksilver, who only briefly touched Nico with his muzzle in greeting, distracted her by gently biting the dense scales somewhere at the base of her neck with his long fangs.
the words Red and Green are in my motoGP fic where Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez are going on vacation to India:
But Marc appears from somewhere behind his back, as if nothing had happened; his naturally swarthy fingers, covered with spots of calluses, bruises and rubbed with the handles of the bike, are golden with a barely noticeable tan and stained with something bright-red and garish-yellow (and Valentino cannot deny himself the thought that he likes it). Marc smiles at him with a wide boyish smile, charming wrinkles and small facial wrinkles on his cheeks, inevitable when approaching his thirtieth birthday. But Marc is still such a young enthusiastic boy that Valentino involuntarily thinks about making Marc then walk barefoot through the green fields in the mountains that they saw yesterday, and then take a picture of him secretly in order to put this photo in his personal collection. Marc grabs his hand, and there are now spicy spice stains on his skin too; Valentino is fascinated by their intertwined fingers, stained yellow, while Marc pulls them somewhere deep into the market. And Valentino doesn't find in himself the slightest desire to resist him.
and the word Green is also in my fiс with Mika/Michael and Ayrton/Alain:
"I heard Mika has a head injury…"
"A basilar skull fracture," says Michael. It was difficult to find out the exact diagnosis, but few people are able to stop Michael Schumacher when he really wants something.
"A basilar skull fracture," Alain repeats bitterly, and Michael is sure that it doesn't seem to him that Alain's voice has become more desperate and sadder. "Who do you see when you think about it, Michael?"
He's silent for a long time, not wanting to answer an uncomfortable question or not knowing the answer to it, but with some sixth sense he understands what Alain is talking about. He knows what he wants to hear from him.
"Ayrton," Michael breathes softly, closing his eyes, admitting that in his mind is imprinted a torn, broken blue-and-white car against the wall of the cursed track in Imola, a crumpled yellow-green bright helmet discarded in a hurry, and dirty dark pools of blood embedded in the gray asphalt. He was so afraid for Mika's life, he was afraid to come to the hospital, only to see a weak, limp body on pale sheets, entwined with tubes and wires, but he was hardly ready to admit that the main reason for his fears was that he had already seen it.

Hunt!Sebastian paying John a visit
Characters: Sebastian Moran, John Sims
Verse: The Magnus Archives, TMA AU of Sebastian Moran / Moriarty (MorMor)

THE ARCHIVIST
[HE SOUNDS A LITTLE SHAKEN, AS IF HE IS PACING UP AND DOWN AS HE IS TALKING.]
I found a tape on my desk. I have checked and double checked with security and with the CCTV coming into the building and everyone coming in or out of the building is accounted for. Was it posted here? It wasn’t in an envelope or anything. Maybe Ma- someone thought they were being helpful. But he- they wouldn’t open my mail, would they? Anyway. Here it is. Statement of Sebastian Moran. Regarding how he met James Moriarty.
[CLICK]
SEBASTIAN MORAN
I found one of your little tape recorders, Archivist, so thought I’d give you something to listen to. You know me. Basher Moran. Moriarty’s Tiger. The most feared sniper in Europe. Prince of London’s Underworld. That one is weird I think, if Moriarty’s the king, that would make me his son? Anyway. Yeah. It’s me, and I hear you’ve been tracking down me and Jimmy, listening to all our victim’s statements and all that. So I thought I’d give you something straight from the tiger’s mouth. There have been quite a few stories about how I met my Jimmy. Urban legends really. Is this one of them or is this a lie just to get under your skin? Only you’ll be able to tell, right Archivist?
Let’s quickly skip through the really boring stuff. Yeah, yeah, son of Augustus Moran and a servant he knocked up in his house in India. He actually had quite a few bastards you know, for some reason he took a shine to me and that’s not the compliment you think it is. He was a faggot, pretended not to be, and whether I killed the fat cunt or not is a little secret you already know the answer to, Archivist. Anyway, I’m the best shot you’ll ever find. Spent most of my teens at a shooting range and didn’t get sped through the army ranks cause of my surname. When your as brown as me and your dad dun’t wanna talk about you a name as common as Moran don’t help. So. I get quietly discharged cause if a nasty event that don’t have anything to do with this story, but you need to picture me as being out Army in my twenties and making a comfortable living selling my services. With a gun, by the way, not my dick sucking lips.
The thing about sniping, is it’s mostly waiting. You set yourself up somewhere high up and out of sight, if you’re good at it you can be low down and no one will find you. Sometimes it’s just you, snacks, drinks, your headphones, and that spare empty bottle you brought to piss in. Audiobooks are great for that. I got through all Chuck Palahniuk’s stories that way. Anyway. Got distracted. So. Most people assume Jimmy hired me, and nah, course he didn’t. He doesn’t do anything like a normal person. First, it was messages in my phone. A text message from a number that didn’t exist and any time I tried to call it instead all I got was a loud screeching noise. The text itself was just a set of coordinates and a time. I decided to ignore it, and five minutes after the deadline, I got left a voicemail without my phone ever had been rung. Weirdest thing about that? It was my voice.
Yeah. Apparently I had rang myself and left a message threatening me about what I would do to my eyeballs if I didn’t pay attention to the next text message. So that was fucking weird. But message received. The next time I got some coordinates I went straight there. First ones led me to a tube station. And when I looked at the train times screen, there was a message for me instead. No one else seemed to see it. But I swear to God it said “Moran. Go to the payphone I’ve marked.” Which is fucking annoying. God damn treasure trail without the treasure. Anyway, so I found it, and clever fuck had written “hi” with a heart drawn on it. Fucking fag. So when I got to it, it started ringing. I answered it and this soft lilting voice was in the other end.
He gave me a job. A good job. With a lot of money. And I said yeah, even though I asked why he didn’t just tell me instead that of playing some stupid game. He giggled and said it was fun. Now I get it. That’s just how he works. When you’re running around anxious and confused he’s feeding off you. That’s just a small way he gets a quick snack. So we went on like this for a while, giving me job after job. I got a bit sick of it, and whilst yeah the Web is really fucking powerful. But. Well, I’m the Hunt. And finding shit is what I do.
So I laid low for a while and between and during jobs I started tracking down my Jimmy. He knew, kept making jokes about how close I was. Maybe he thought I wouldn’t make it to him, maybe he wanted me to, or maybe he didn’t care. Honestly, Jimmy might not even know. Maybe he didn’t think about it. But. Eventually I found myself just outside of this big fancy flat building. One of the types in zone one where the front is fancy as fuck and the back is meeting the quota for affordable housing. I don’t care, if they live in the shithole they can’t pay me. I took the lift up to the top floor. The huge, massive, modern screen door greeted me when I got out. He has a penthouse you see, and the dramatic fuck has a spider web pattern all over it.
I was planning on being subtle, but the moment I got to the top floor, I heard a lilting giggle. I looked up to see a camera pointed directly at me. He didn’t say a word, just ended up with a click to show the door was open. I walked in. His house is pretty great but I’m not gonna tell you shit that might lead you to him. You know what’s funny? I hate spiders. I hate them. I hate them so much of course I noticed their was a lot hanging around my flat since this started. But I didn’t think they had anything to do with Jimmy. His penthouse though? Let’s just say he’s gone all out on the theme.
Anyway. I mostly came here to kill time because gotta shoot one of your librarians. Just some dickhead who stuck his nose where he shouldn’t. By the time you hear this, you might wanna make sure someone goes up to clean up. I knew this would be a great way to distract you. Once the statement started you wouldn’t be able to put it down. Hope you enjoyed my story, mate. There’s plenty more where that came from. My Jimmy? He’ll be in touch.
THE ARCHIVIST
[CLICK. HE SIGHS.]
Statement ends. Carson Throw was found with a very clean gunshot wound through his temples. The bullet was found lodged into a book about spider webs. Hardly subtle. There wasn’t much of a mess. Carson was very wrapped up in jobs for James Moriarty, nothing special just owed him a lot of money from card games and he was slowly trying to work off. It seems Carson tried to get out before his debt had been paid. As for what Moran and Moriarty want with me… Only time will tell.

Day 6 in London (7/7)!
Today was the first day that wasn’t completely smooth sailing.
This morning, I woke up at 5am after going to bed at 12:30am to listen to Speak Now Taylor’s Version at its release time. My favorite song on the album is When Emma Falls In Love, but I was not very impressed by overall album overall (excluding the vault tracks). The vault is super good (it may even be better than the Red vault).
After that, I talked to some friends from back home- Arjun called me from his trip in India and I got to talk to Yoga afterwards. It was nice to hear their voices and catch up with them (that was the first time I had talked to anyone from home). It reminded me how much I missed my dogs… but surprisingly not the fam?
Deren slept in since her alarm didn’t go off, so we missed the free breakfast on campus (although it was nice to have something else). Since we were near SoHo, we agreed to meet up in SoHo later in the afternoon with another group of students since it was part of the “London Boy” tour. We got donuts from the Doughnut Shop near Bond Street and I got a bacon, egg and cheese sandwhich on a baguette from a little place called Avery Cafe.
As the next part of our “London Boy” tour, we went to Louis V up on Bond Street and walking SoHo drinking in the afternoon (minus the alcohol). Deren needed a new outfit for a Tinder date, so we went to Starbucks at the Bond Street tube station to meet up with Livvy and grab some coffee before setting out for the perfect outfit.
Livvy came with us to Zara and then left for an appointment, and Deren and I went to H&M to look at one more store before meeting our friends who we planned to meet with in the morning. On the way, I decided to try some foreign McDonalds menu items for lunch. I tried the mozzarella cheese balls (they were ok- I didn’t have marinara) and the crispy caesar bacon wrap (super good even heated up).
After I was sure Deren with our friends, I was feeling very physically and socially exhausted and also had a low phone battery so I decided to head back to the flat. My phone died after I paid for the tube station, so I was thankful that I had quickly learned how to navigate the tube system and was able to navigate my way back using the paper maps.
I took a nap for an hour and then Deren and I decided to go check up Stephney and the pub we will be attending with our school on Tuesday- we ended up staying for 5 hours and just talking about life!

The Function Of Audio Output Transformers In High-Quality Sound Production
Tumblr media
Achieving high-quality sound reproduction in the field of audio electronics is both an art and a science. The music, voice, or other auditory content that we like is created by a number of different elements working together. The audio output transformer India is one such vital part that is frequently concealed from view but is nonetheless necessary to the process. In the blog post below, we’ll discuss the function of audio output transformers in providing rich, crystal-clear, and distortion-free audio experiences.
Understanding audio output transformers
In amplifiers and audio equipment, an audio output transformer is a piece of electromagnetic hardware, whose main job is to move electricity from the amplifier’s output circuit, which is usually a high-power transistor or tube, to the loudspeaker or other output device. This transfer is made possible by the transformer, which adjusts the amplifier’s output to the requirements of the attached speaker by transforming electrical energy from one voltage or impedance level to another.
Key functions of audio output transformers
Impedance matching: Impedance matching is necessary because speakers and audio amplifiers have various impedance ranges. The audio output transformer serves as a middleman, balancing the speaker’s impedance with the amplifier’s. Such impedance matching guarantees effective power transfer and prevents distortion or signal loss.
Electrical isolation: Electrical isolation is provided between the amplifier’s output stage and the speaker by an audio output transformer. Direct current (DC) cannot enter the speaker because of this separation, thus reducing damage, and avoiding ground loops, while also lessening noise and hum.
Voltage conversion: The output stage of many amplifiers runs at a high voltage level, whereas speakers need a considerably lower voltage to produce sound. The audio output transformer converts the amplifier’s high-voltage, low-current signal to the low-voltage, high-current signal that the speaker requires.
Balancing: Audio output transformers can balance the output signal in some amplifier designs, lowering common-mode noise and distortion.
Applications of audio output transformers
Various types of audio equipment frequently utilize audio output transformers, some of the most important ones including –
Musical instruments: Audio output transformers are used in some musical instrument amplifiers, such as those for electric guitars and basses, to sculpt the amplifier’s tonal qualities.
Public address systems: Audio output transformers can be found in public address system amplifiers, ensuring effective power transfer to speakers in arenas, stadiums, and open areas.
Vacuum tube amplifiers: Audio output transformers are frequently found in conventional tube amplifiers, also known as ‘valve’ amplifiers. The transformers here aid in matching the low impedance of speakers to the high impedance of vacuum tubes.
High-fidelity amplifiers: To ensure optimum performance and sound quality, high-fidelity audio amplifiers, whether they use vacuum tubes or solid-state components, may contain audio output transformers.
Vintage audio equipment: Older audio equipment, such as old radios and record players, frequently relied on audio output transformers to reproduce sound.
Technological developments in audio transformers
Despite the continued widespread usage of conventional audio output transformers, smaller, more effective, and more dependable transformers are now available. Transformerless designs that rely on semiconductor technology for impedance matching and voltage conversion are sometimes used in modern amplifiers, especially those that use solid-state components. However, high-quality audio output transformers continue to be important for audiophiles and hobbyists who love the warm and distinctive sound created by tube amplifiers. The rich, organic sound that these transformers continue to produce preserves the intricacies and complexities of musical and audio recordings.
In conclusion, audio output transformers play an essential part in the reproduction of high-quality audio. The audio experience is greatly enhanced by their capacity to balance signals, offer isolation, convert voltage, match impedance, and match impedance. Whether you’re listening to your favourite music through a modern high-fidelity system or a vintage tube amplifier, chances are an audio output transformer is making the magic happen in the background.
To get your hands on such magical equipment, you can get in touch with Miracle Electronics, who is a trusted provider of high-quality audio output transformers. These transformers are made with a focus on precise engineering and quality assurance to fulfil the demanding specifications of diverse industries. Therefore, you may reproduce clean, distortion-free sound using the audio output transformer India from Miracle Electronics.

In Vitro Fertilisation: A hopeful path towards Parenthood!
Tumblr media
Conceiving and giving birth to a baby is an emotional journey for every couple. It completes your family and provides a beautiful feeling of love and bonding with the little bundle of joy. However, not everyone can enjoy the taste of parenthood easily because infertility is a rising health issue in India, with 27.5 million couples battling the same. (Source: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/blogs/voices/how-ivf-stands-tall-in-india-with-increasing-success-rates/). If you have fallen prey to such a situation, an IVF process can be an effective remedy to cure reproductive failures and bring your child to this world.
In Vitro Fertilisation: What is it?
In vitro Fertilisation (IVF) is a spectacular means to address infertility issues in couples and help them with the conception of a child. A kind of Assisted Reproductive Technology, IVF can guarantee successful results. The treatment requires the collection of eggs from the patient's ovaries and fertilising the same with the male's sperm.
Once fertilised, the IVF specialist will transfer the embryo to develop in the patient's uterus. Generally, couples use their egg and sperm to carry on the fertilisation procedure, but one can also use eggs, sperm or embryos from donor. Also, in specific cases where the mother cannot carry the growing foetus, a separate gestational carrier can safely and successfully deliver the child. Here are the vital reasons why you may need to choose IVF instead of the natural conception process:
A fallopian tube connects the ovaries to the uterus. A problem in the tube can disrupt egg production, thus preventing pregnancy by natural process.
Problems like PCOS, PCOD, low count of eggs and anovulation restricts proper fertilisation, resulting in infertility.
Many times, the tissues lining the uterus grow outside the uterus affecting the smooth functioning of the ovaries, uterus and fallopian tubes.
Common amongst women between 30 to 40 years of age, uterine fibroids are non-cancerous growths or tumours developing around the uterus. They interfere in the egg implantation process, disrupting the pregnancy.
Infertility Treatment: Procedures followed!
On your visit to the IVF doctor, they will abide by the following IVF process to treat your infertility problems:
Medication: A successful IVF treatment requires more than one fertilised egg. Your doctor may prescribe a medication containing follicle-stimulating hormone for super-ovulation.
Egg Retrieval: 36 hours after your last hormone injection, you will be ready for egg removal and collection from your follicles. This step includes inserting a thin needle-cum-suction device inside your ovaries through the vagina to pull out the eggs.
Fertilisation: The embryologist will inject the donor's sperm into the fertilised eggs through intracytoplasmic injections. Next, the eggs are placed in the incubator to develop into healthy embryos.
Implantation: Within three to seven days of the egg retrieval, the IVF specialist will insert several foetuses inside your uterus, expecting at least one to implant itself in the uterus lining. In many cases, more than one implantation takes place, leading to multiple births.
Conclusion
IVF requires you to go through complex medical procedures. Thus, consulting an experienced and expert medical professional is imperative to drive utmost success. Ranking top amongst healthcare organisations in India, Ace Medicare can help you find the leading doctors and achieve fruitful results. Visit their website to book an appointment.

A wedding in the Oshwal Centre
Two weeks ago we went to a wedding. It took place in Oshwal Centre in Hertfordshire. It's not too far from Potters Bar tube station.
This centre, which sits an extremely tranquil environment, is 70 acres in size. This Oshwal centre is the UK's biggest Jain Centre. As I have never been to a Jain temple, this was a new experience for me.
Jainism, just like Buddhism, is an ancient religion that started in India and its teachings are very similar to Buddhist teachings too. The Jain temple in the premises have traditional carvings which have been hand carved exquisitely. These carvings felt familiar to me. The simply decorated shrine room had a marble statue of Lord Mahavira.
All around the temple there were carefully tended gardens. That day was a rainy and misty day and we felt a little chilly. The weather, coupled with the familiarity of the temple and the background music (sounded like Lata Mangeshkar's voice), created a sense of comfort and elevated the beauty of the surroundings.
Next to the temple is the wedding hall, which can house more than 500 guests. This was a tamil hindu wedding and the bride and groom were dressed in beautiful traditional garments and jewelry. The bridesmaids were in stunning sarees and their hair were decorated traditionally with real jasmine flowers. The groomsmen were in vetti and stood out beautifully.
The wedding ceremony, performed according to hindu customs, was truly memorable amidst the sounds of the mridangam drum and tamil songs.

Adenoidectomy Surgery in Bangalore
Adenoid surgery is a common procedure performed in Bangalore, India. The surgery is now much easier than when it was first performed in the 1930s. Doctors worldwide use surgery to stop nosebleeds, earaches and other problems caused by adenoids. Adenoid surgery is also referred to as adenotonsillectomy or suction resection of the tonsil and adenoids. Suction refers to how a machine sucks out the tonsils with gentle suction.
Nasal congestion, sinus infections and discharge that persist over time are other common symptoms. Ear infections and persistent fluid in the ear, both of which may temporarily impair hearing, can be affected by enlarged adenoids. Having the glands surgically removed is a common need. No evidence having them removed compromises a child's immune system.
Children aged between 1 and 7 are the most common patients for an adenoidectomy. Usually, by age 7, a child's adenoids have shrunk to the point that they are no longer seen as a necessary organ (a remnant with no purpose).
When Does a Doctor Recommend an Adenoidectomy?
A visit to the doctor is in order if you are having trouble breathing, have ear pain or get sinus infections often. The doctor will inspect your adenoids after collecting a medical history by using an x-ray or a tiny camera inserted into the nasal passage. Your doctor may suggest removing the adenoids based on your symptoms and the appearance of the adenoids (if they are swollen).
How Is Adenoidectomy Surgery Performed?
The surgery involves removing part or all of an adenoid. Doctors use a small instrument to make an incision in the side of the nose and then remove part of the adenoid. This allows them to remove excess tissue inside the nose. Afterwards, they seal off the wound with small stitches and apply a medicine ointment to prevent infections. The surgery is now much easier than when it was first performed in grifter in the 1930s. Doctors used a long needle to make a small hole through the side of someone's nose. They then inserted a tube inside the nose and removed tissue from inside the nasal cavity. This allowed doctors to reduce excess tissue inside the nose, which could cause blockage and pain.
The procedure used to be very invasive and painful because it involved making a hole in someone's nose. However, modern equipment makes this easier and less traumatic for patients. General anaesthesia spreads through the patient's blood as he lies on an operating table. Doctors then make an incision in the side of the nose as close to the eye socket as possible. Afterwards, they remove part or all of an adenoid using fine instruments. The incision heals quickly without any problems because doctors use modern surgical techniques for this procedure.
When Are the Risks Involved in Adenoidectomy Surgery?
Adenoidectomy has a very low but real risk of:
·         Inability to treat the underlying cause of the nasal discharge, ear infections or breathing issues
·         Too much blood loss (very rare)
·         Alterations in voice quality that are irreversible
·         Infection
·         Anaesthesia-related risks
Before you consent to have your adenoids removed, your doctor should fully brief you on the procedure's potential side effects and answer any concerns you may have.

Save The Internet Campaign
This campaign is a volunteer led effort to uphold a fair and open internet as, companies were aiming at to provide for the fast paced internet lines and slow paced internet lines. This would raise price discrimination among the usage and their access, but before moving ahead one need to understand about the net neutrality, which means --
* All sites must be equally accessible and also all content is equal.
This can be explained this way that if one has paid the recharge amount required for a given plan , then he should have access to any website. For instance, on the one hand if he can watch the Kapil Sharma's Show and the other hand he can chat on Facebook as well, likewise so on and so forth.
* Secondly, one need to be able to access all the data on the internet at the exact same speed.
This means for instance if you have purchased a 10 MBPS plan you should be able to access any service whether it be of flipkart, you tube or any other service with the same speed.
Now regarding the campaign over one million Indian citizens have taken part at one point or another in the campaign. This actually began with a group of individuals who were like minded in our country India in May 2015. Save the internet was founded in April 2006 in US.
However in 2014, Indian Redditors started discussing net neutrality when airtel decided to charge extra for VoIP services. i, e; Voice Over IP which is like skype and it is this discussion which acted as a launching pad of net neutrality.
In a website which made people to understand about the significane of net neutrality and Airtel's threat to it. After people's anger, Airtel withdraw their decision.
Thus, net neutrality came into the public eyes.
TRAI agreed to a public consultation on this issue. On 27/3/2015 , this paper was made public. A platform to submit comments to TRAI consultation paper was launched and pushed out by comedy collective AIB. In early 2016, we won a large part of our net neutrality campaign. TRAI announced that differential pricing would be banned in India.

The Conclusion of The Whole Matter
“We tend to assume that our world is normative until we encounter a society that is fundamentally different.” - Vishal Mangalwadi,
In his book The book that made your world: How the bible created the soul of Western Civilization. Vishal Mangalwadi describes how in 1976 he and his wife left urban India to live in rural central India. Together they began their service to the poor from their little house outside the village of Gatheora in the Chhatarpur district. There they met a population where many were devoutly religious but their fear of stars and spirits, rivers and mountains, karma and reincarnation, gods and goddesses, made them vulnerable to exploitations and oppression. Their faith bred terror, not adventure. (Mangalwadi, 28)
When Vishal and Ruth, his wife, arrived she decided to visit every family in the village. Every day she would visit new families to find out how they could better serve them. On one of these visits she met Lalta, a ten-year-old girl from a low-caste family. She asked Lalta how many brothers and sisters she had.
“Four… or maybe three,” was Lalta’s reply.
Ruth was curious and asked, “Is it three or four?”
“Well, three. The fourth is almost dead.”
Ruth asked to see the child, who turned out to be an eighteen-moth-old girl named Sheela. Ruth saw a living skeleton lying on a bare string cot, pus oozing from sores covering her body and head, with flies swarming over her because she was too weak to rase her hand to shoo them. Sheela was so weak she could not even cry, she only sighed.
“What’s wrong with her?” Ruth, with tears in her eyes, asked the girl’s mother.
“Oh, she doesn’t eat anything. She throws up whatever we give her.”
“Why don’t you take her to the hospital?”
“How can we afford to see a doctor?”
Ruth was astonished by the extent of their poverty, and offered to pay for the treatment.
“But where is the time to go to the hospital?” The mother replied. “I have three other children and a husband to look after, besides, I can’t find my way around in the hospital.”
“Ask your husband to come with you,” Ruth suggested
“He has no time. He has to look after the cattle and the field.”
“Tell him I will pay for him to accompany you. Many hospital staff members are our friends.”
Finally she agreed to talk to her husband. Ruth was so happy she also talked to her husband Vishal.
That evening Vishal visited the family. They came out to talk to him and some neighbors came to see what has happening. The couple told Vishal they had decided to not to go to the hospital.
“Why?” asked Vishal surprised.
“We don’t have the money.”
“But my wife told you that we wil pay.”
“We don’t want to go into debt.”
“Well. I’ll put it in writing in front of these witnesses.” Vishal said pointing to the neighbors. “I will not ask for the money to be returned to us. It is a gift.”
“We don’t have the time.”
“But my wife told you that we will pay for you to hire a laborer for the day.”
“Why are you bothering us?” The couple was irritated with Vishal and Ruth. “She is our daughter.” They could not understand why Vishal was being so persistent.
Vishal couldn’t believe that the parents were willing to let their daughter die, how could they be so cruel? So he decided to use the pressure of public opinion.
“Are you killing this girl?” He asked raising his voice.
“Of course not! But what can we do if she won’t eat and vomit everything we give her?
“If you can’t do anything for her, then why don’t you let the doctors do something?”
“Because we can’t afford it.” The couple was just as stuborn as Vishal and Ruth.
Vishal threatened to call the police and they finally agreed to take the girl to the hospital. He had expected the neighbors to support him pressuring the Sheelah’s parents. But to his surprise the neighbors looked at him as if he was the fool.
The girl was taken to the hospital and put on intravenous medication, after a week the medical staff was able to start feeding her via nose tube. After another week they were able to take her home and they continued to feed her through he same tube until she was healthy enough to eat on her own. At that point a few young people had joined Vishal and his wife including American students who loved caring for Sheela, which included hand washing her dirty stinky cloth diapers. Sheela responded to the love and cuddles and the medication and food became a delight.
All seemed to be going well until one morning the mother walked in grumbling that the villagers we saying they were corrupting her daughter and polluting their caste, and even worst, Sheela might become a Christian. Ruth assured the mother that she was free to take Sheela home.
A few weeks later Ruth learned that Sheela was back to her previous condition. The whole process was repeated. Persuade the mother, pressure the father, take girl to hospital, pay medical bills, bring her home and care for her, and the mother came again to get her daughter back. Ruth assumed the mother had learned her lesson and would properly care for Sheela. Before Ruth and Vishal knew it, Sheela was dead.
The family already had a daughter to babysit the sons and to clean and cook for the family. A second girl was seen as a liability, an unnecessary burden. They would have to feed her for ten to twelve years than go into debt to find a dowry to marry her off. Her in-laws might torture her to extract more dowry from the parents. Why would the parents take on this lifelong burden even if someone was offering free medical care and milk for a few weeks? (India also deals with female infanticide)
Vishal makes an argument in his book that the worldview of the parents and the community lead them to think of children as assets or liabilities, conveniences or burdens. Vishal and Ruth never expected to gain anything from Sheela. They simply loved God and were compelled to love her and to help the weak, the needy, to feed the hungry and care for the sick.
In his book The Book that Made Your World, Vishal also describes how he was jailed for trying to provide humanitarian aid to poor villagers affected by a hail storm, because the political leaders feared he was making a political maneuver to gain popularity, influence, and power. They could not understand that he and his wife had moved there just to help them, and that others who came and stayed them for periods of time also came simply to help those in need. The local leaders feared political interference, they could not conceive that he was doing good and not expecting personal gain in return.
Their worldview caused them to see themselves as stuck in their caste, trapped inescapably in the clutches of poverty. They held to traditional Hindu fatalism. They did not believe they could change history. (Mangalwadi, 64)
Worldview
In this post, I will be exploring the concept of a biblical worldview.
According to Merriam-Webster a worldview is a comprehensive conception or apprehension of the world, especially from a specific standpoint — called also weltanschauung.
When I say biblical worldview I mean the way I interact with all reality, visible and invisible, is shaped by what the bible says about reality.
Why a biblical worldview?
I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. I also believe that once you remove the Bible from your worldview you have no way of escaping the pessimism of nihilism. In other words, when the biblical worldview is rejected we seem to also lose all hope for meaning and even finding objective truth.
In this discussion, I find the book of Ecclesiastes useful since it deals with the meaning of life.
Ecclesiastes
ECCLESIASTES, or the book of (קֺהֶלֶת) qoheleth, is an Old Testament book that presents the wisdom teachings of an individual identified as Qoheleth (one who presides over an assembly, that is, a preacher or teacher). Traditionally Solomon has been identified as the author of Ecclesiastes.
In a nutshell, the book of Ecclesiastes presents the wisdom teachings of an individual identified as Qoheleth (1:1). Qoheleth examines various areas of life as he attempts to determine what has lasting value for humanity. He begins with his decision that “all is (הֶבֶל) hevel” (1:2)—a term often translated as “vanity” that Qoheleth uses to indicate the senselessness or absurdity of life “under the sun.” Qoheleth refers to the limitation of humanity in several ways:
1. Human achievement is not lasting and is forgotten by later generations (Ecclesiastes 1:11).
2. Human wisdom is limited, but it does guarantee the wise a better fate than the foolish (Ecclesiastes 1:12–18; 9:13–18).
3. Injustice and wickedness are prevalent and often appear to go unpunished (Ecclesiastes 3:16).
Out of profound disillusionment over humanity’s limitation, the author points to the need to be satisfied with “our portion.” The book concludes with the admonition to “fear God and keep his commands” (Ecclesiastes 12:13). (The Lexham Bible Dictionary)
Meaningless?
Probably no biblical book is so dominated by one leading theme as is Ecclesiastes. In 1:2 the author declares that “everything is meaningless” (NIV) or better, “vanity” (KJV, NRSV, NASB, NKJV, ASV). The Hebrew word translated “meaningless” or “vanity” is hebel (literally, “breath”), the key word in the book. Here it occurs 38 times, roughly half of its appearances in the OT. In Ecclesiastes hebel primarily seems to denote items (approximately two dozen) that are fleeting as breath (6:12; 7:15; 9:9; 11:10), senseless (4:7–8; 5:7, 10; 7:6), or like breath have no substance or lasting value (2:1, 11). At first glance the declaration that “all is vanity” (1:2) seems negative, but the phrase in the following verse (1:3), “under the sun” (only in Ecclesiastes in the Bible, 29 times), clarifies the author’s perspective. The meaning is that earthly existence is brief and mere worldly accomplishments are of no eternal worth. (Stephen R. Miller, “Ecclesiastes, Book Of,” ed. Chad Brand et al., Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary (Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers, 2003), 454.
My understanding of the message of Ecclesiastes is that once you remove the biblical concept of God from your worldview nothing has any true or lasting meaning or value. It seems to me that Solomon experimented with existentialism and nihilism, and even what we call postmodernism, and realized the problems with those philosophies.
The Parable of The Madman
I hope to make this clearer with the following quote from Friedrich Nietzsche, (from the Parable of the Madman)
"Whither is God?" he cried; "I will tell you. We have killed him---you and I. All of us are his murderers. But how did we do this? How could we drink up the sea? Who gave us the sponge to wipe away the entire horizon? What were we doing when we unchained this earth from its sun? Whither is it moving now? Whither are we moving? Away from all suns? Are we not plunging continually? Backward, sideward, forward, in all directions? Is there still any up or down? Are we not straying, as through an infinite nothing? Do we not feel the breath of empty space? Has it not become colder? Is not night continually closing in on us? Do we not need to light lanterns in the morning? Do we hear nothing as yet of the noise of the gravediggers who are burying God? Do we smell nothing as yet of the divine decomposition? Gods, too, decompose. God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him.
"How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it? There has never been a greater deed; and whoever is born after us---for the sake of this deed he will belong to a higher history than all history hitherto." - Friedrich Nietzsche, The Gay Science (1882, 1887) para. 125; Walter Kaufmann ed. (New York: Vintage, 1974), pp.181-82.]
Greece may seem like an example of how philosophy can develop and even thrive without God. It may seem like the Greeks were able to define/discover what is good and noble using only logic and philosophy. However, upon closer inspection, you will notice that education, philosophy, and science declined in Greece. Eventually philosophy, logic, and reason reach a point where they must admit their inability to find satisfying ultimate answers. Eventually, you reach nihilism and that leads to escapism, which is not conducive to a meaningful enjoyable, and happy life, after all, there is no meaning to life once the biblical God is removed. Like Nietzsche pointed out, we end up having to become God and come up with a meaning for our own lives.
Richard Rorty ( 1931–2007) argues in What’s the Use of Truth, that the traditional distinctions between true and false must be abandoned since we can only speak in terms of webs of language that display greater or lesser degrees of “smoothness” or homogeneity. For Rorty every assertion of truth is only provisional, at its very core a form of make-believe — because language itself is merely a product of human society. He seems to believe that reality is a linguistically constructed, self-referential human social reality. (Mangalwadi, V. (2011). The book that made your world: How the bible created the soul of Western Civilization. Thomas Nelson. (XIV-XV)
Western Philosophy has essentially lost all hope of finding truth. You may think I am exaggerating but think about your recent interactions with people who have different political views, or different views regarding science and health. It can be quite frustrating to the point that many just throw up their hands and decide that you live your truth and I’ll live my truth.
I may not have all the answers. I may not understand everything. But when I feel like just giving up I turn to the Bible and to God and direct my paths accordingly. I do not feel the burden to make everyone believe what I believe, but I do feel a burden to have a coherent and consistent worldview so that I can live my life. I find that worldview in the Bible. I am still learning, maturing and growing, but I consider everything that I learn in light of what the Bible has to say about it.
Making it practical
Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, And let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; Walk in the ways of your heart, And in the sight of your eyes; But know that for all these God will bring you into judgment. - Ecclesiastes 11:9 NKJV
In life, I believe you should pursue your dreams, follow your passion, go on adventures, but never forget that God holds you accountable. In your joy and adventures don’t forget to be honest (Proverbs 12:22), to be kind (Galatians 6:9), to work hard (Proverbs 14:23), be willing to forgive (Ephesians 4:32).
A biblical worldview does not limit the joy you can experience in life, it multiplies it!
A biblical worldview goes beyond guidelines for behavior, it also includes universal truths that have a practical implications on our lives.
Some examples include
World created by a powerful God - Genesis 1-2, John 1
God loves me - John 3:16
God will never leave nor forsake me - Deuteronomy 4:31
God is in control - Colossians 1:17
I do not have to be afraid - Isaiah 41:10
Jesus is coming soon - John 14:1-3; Revelation 22:12-13
But this does not mean that everything will be easy. There is a battle going on between good and evil.
There is an enemy at work - Matthew 13:24-30; Ephesians 6:12
The Devil promotes murder and lies - John 8:44
But Satan’s days are numbered - Romans 16:20
We are called to help the needy - Deuteronomy 15:11; Acts 20:35
There is much more to this. I am still learning about how all of this plays out. But I hope this is enough to give you some ideas about the biblical worldview. The more we read and study the Bible the clearer the worldview becomes. It is simple in some ways, God is in control and ultimate victory belongs to Him. But it is also incredibly complex in other ways, what our role is in all of this, and how this battle between Christ and Satan plays our in world events and our personal lives.
We never stop learning in maturing, but this growth takes place under the guidance of God and his word, the Bible.
Here is some evidence I have witnessed recently.
Pathfinder Club
The Seventh-day Adventist Church has a ministry called Pathfinder Club which falls under Club Ministries. My wife and I are heavily involved, we have experience with Adventurer, Pathfinder and Master Guides. We are not paid for this, this is all volunteer. We do it because we believe it helps kids, families, and communities.
Recently we attended a big event called a Division Camporee where Pathfinders from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska came. We had over one thousand Pathfinders participate! (Not bad after the shutdowns due to COVID in the last couple of years.)
We drove 10 hours to spend 5 days sleeping in tents in Kalispell, Montana. Many clubs traveled from much further. All volunteers except for a few key organizers. All these clubs, kids, parents, staff, all voluntarily camping, facing cold and rain to participate in this ministry that seeks to encourage and challenge kids to grow in all areas of life, mental, physical, emotional and spiritual. Kids from all walks of life and faiths are welcome.
Towards the end of the event I was talking to some of the key organizers and they shared how the workers for the fairgrounds where we were camping were amazed at our group. They were surprised at how polite everyone was. They could not believe how clean the are was. Some said the fairgrounds were cleaner now that we were there. They said the only sign that someone was using the bathroom was that they had to replace the paper and take out the trash. They could not believe how neat, clean, polite and pleasant a group of kids ages 10-16 could be.
I share this because I believe that this is evidence that the Pathfinder ministry is working. The kids are behaving as good citizens. This also encourages me that a biblical worldview shapes us into the best version of ourselves. I am not saying that all the kids are perfect, and I am not saying that being a Pathfinder is an easy task. But I do believe that the evidence points to this ministry being worth the time and effort. Tangible results are evident, good things result from this ministry.
Seventh-day Adventist Schools
You do not have to be a Seventh-day Adventist to attend a Seventh-day Adventist School, anyone can attend. My kids currently attend our local school, Boise Valley Adventist Academy. Last year, in the month of January the kids form the school went to a local mountain to ski. the kids were divided into groups and spent the day learning to ski. This took place one day a week for three consecutive weeks. One of the days, I was there helping the kids and just making sure everything was going smoothly when at the end of the session one of the instructors approached me and asked if I was with the christian school and I said “yes.” The instructor proceeded to tell me how much he had enjoyed our kids. He said he had been teaching people to skii since he was a young man and continued to do it because he loved it and now some of his grand kids were starting to work there as well. He said it was rare to come across a group as pleasant as the one he had that day He said the kids were kind, polite, friendly, honest, and just a pleasure to be around. He congratulated me and told me to keep doing whatever we were doing.
What I take away form these stories, is that the God of the Bible makes a difference in our lives. As we invite Him into our lives and study the Bible seeking to know Him better, He transforms us into what He means for us to be.
the Conclusion of the Whole Matter
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all. 14 For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil. - Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 NKJV
