hello, my name is demian, i have been thinking for a few months about starting a collaborative blog, i have my own blogs where i upload my reflections, but i think it would be interesting to have a common space where i could publish and have the freedom to publish with or without a name and have it all in one blog, one of hope, love and radicalism.

the struggle against eugenics, like other radical struggles, feels very lonely. especially when the state and the system have put so much money in individualistic propaganda both before the pandemic and especially after the beginning of the pandemic.

Clearing the Air

It was revealed to me that Galarian Weezing had developed interesting abilities compared to its common Kanto counterpart, which, as a disabled person that still masks, fascinated me (Read it's Sword Pokedex Description!). Do you think they could combat airborne diseases along with toxins? Wildfire smoke? But also, the rude/misinformed questions/comments I would get 😩 "Sorry you're sick/Why do you keep your Weezing if it makes you sick?" Excuse me, they have a very important job and keep me healthy!

...Anyway, I'm thinking of how one might be able to modify a cylinder shaped air filter and store it in the hat of a sculpted galarian weezing and the extra replacement filters in the other head while still being functional...

It is literally, actively killing me that people don’t mask. No one cares. 😭😭#WearAMask

You have no idea how lonely the feeling is. If I ask nicely, no one cares. I know that because I asked politely, Now that it is an emergency I alternate between screaming and begging, No one cares. People not masking is literally killing me but if I beg for accommodation, somehow I’m the villain. Only the people already masking listen.

But when I die — people will say I didn’t advocate long enough. I might become a hashtag for a few days and people will move on. My friends will keep dying unnecessary deaths. Because no one cares. Because if people cared about disabled people, about people with long covid, about cancer patients? Instead of arguing with me They’d say let’s mask just in case. JUST IN CASE THE EVIDENCE RHAT IT IS KILLING HER IS EIGHT LETS MASK.

if I do die, this is what killed me, people not masking or believing long covid lowers your immunity and/or the cancer & /or the medicine.

Because you can’t always tell who has cancer, who is disabled, who is #HighRiskCOVID19. We are ALL at risk for COVID & long COVID & flus & colds. And the possibility of never recovering is random. It happens to the healthiest people.

DEATH is up 30% since COVID.

Why can’t I convince you not to play with your own life?

Not just mine? 😭

Because maybe you know someone like me. Maybe someone you love, maybe YOU are just like me but you don’t know yet.

And if I’m wrong, you wore a piece of fiber on your face for a few years while someone came up with something better If you can afford it. And are able. If you’re wrong the world and its ecosystem will be sick for decades. Because of the climate crisis timing maybe we just… die offs

Important note to add: only do local outings when it's actually safe to do so again. We are in a pandemic with a level 3 biohazard. Please stay home and #WearAMask 🙏 instead, find video walking tours of your city, older YouTube videos of the "top spots" or "hidden gems" in your new home, etc.

But please, practice pandemic safety. Wear a mask, stay home, and use a HEPA if you HAVE to go out for an emergency.

How to create a home for oneself in a new city when you're alone?

get some music on – you're never truly alone when you have a great playlist

even though you might not feel like it, get dressed every day and put your best kit on

join nextdoor or your neighbourhood's local online bulletin, they're full of awful complaints and sales pitches but they make you feel more in the loop

go to your local baker/cafe/grocer and buy something, strike up a conversation if you can, tell them you're new in town, keep coming back and always smile

join your local library, they're amazing

move about – join a local running club if that's your thing, or go to a fitness swim class at the local pool, or sign up to a yoga studio, take a spin class, that sort of thing

don't like sport? try an adult class with the local council, like pottery, or knitting, or painting

your local café, pub, gallery or bookshop probably has a life drawing class, book club, poetry night, chess club, go and have fun

ask a colleague for recommendations of what's good in town, chances are you'll end up grabbing a drink together

go to the club if you're into it, and just get lost in the music, the best safe non judgemental place to get sweaty and press your body to other beautiful bodies

buy yourself flowers from the supermarket

cook for yourself like you would a friend, make extravagant meals because you're worth the time!

take buses and trains to explore the area, take a book with you – have a picnic, walk around, look in shops, go to a museum, just be curious

and: you're going to be ok, promise. I hope you're settling in well friend ❤️
