Note
I read your opinion on the vlogs. I was thinking, could it be that because they don't want to show much of their private life(real, day to day personality), hence the over produced(controlled) environment in the vlogs? I mean, yes they do share their private life sometimes like on EB and some GMMore, but all that was done verbally.
First off, I must say I enjoyed the video! Just that it didn’t feel like a vlog. And if they don’t wanna get personal on the vlog, the whole purpose of having R&L vlogs is defeated. Rather have a day of the week GMM for these outdoor “agenda driven” kinda videos which take other people/assistants to produce. Remember when Barbara met her brother? Or they vent for vasectomies, or they got hypnotized. It felt like that. I’m just scared we will see, “We catapult a hot dog into a bun” kind of stupid things.
If they keep doing this, then I’m guessing they would burn out so fast, because how can you keep coming up with outdoorsy exciting things every week? They keep harping on the fact that their lives are not that exciting, and they’re just two dads who go to bed at a reasonable time. They don’t understand that we don’t need them to play characters/act for us to enjoy them. (Rhett was definitely acting in this one). We want them candid, just like they are in Ear Biscuits, even if they feel it would be uninteresting.
That said, it’s only the second one, and they would definitely be looking for feedback from us, and like @thepatientheart pointed out, we should tell them what we like/don’t like, and it’s not static. Just like EB has gone through phases of them trying new things and has finally landed at this personal candid talking podcast, this might evolve too.
