This piece has become iconic in some realms over the years, appearing in 20+ publications both here and abroad. It's an autobiographical piece about the fine line between delights and demons, and reality and fantasy. The title is a play on words combining the Rolling Stones song "Mother's Little Helper" and the term "helper monkey" (Helper monkeys are service animals trained to assist people with disabilities) Monkeys: People either love ‘em or hate ‘em. Regardless of how you feel about them, it’s impossible to observe one without contemplating their humanness. They are a reflection of mankind at our best and at our worst.

Try this? Take a match or a stick and see how far you can throw it, yikes not that far, now take the same match or stick and by placing it in between your thumb and forefinger and flick it. What's the result, weirdly enough (I did) flick it loads further than I could actually throw it. Then taking the mechanics of actually throwing something vs the flick it makes no sense that the flick actually went further the throw had more motion more distance but the end result wasn't as good. A silly story I know, but this had me thinking that it was probably the kinetic energy from the flick, the forefinger pushing towards the stick or match and at a certain point, when the energy compounded by the thumb giving way drove the match further away than the throw. Now, why am I pondering this, mmm Perhaps if applied to life, no matter how strong your arm is or how fast you can swing it because there was no resistance it didn't help much in throwing it. The much smaller less powerful finger flick due to the resistance did way better. I take this lesson from it, when you are facing resistance, learning something staying up late going the extra mile, or merely facing some adversity which could be judged as resistance. Keep pushing. at some point, the resistance will give way and you will be further towards your endeavor than by not facing the resistance! Perhaps we then it would be advantageous to seek resistance do what is hard and difficult for it will yield a better result. Happy Weird Wednesday Witches!

Hello Witches! I'm back with a daily dose of weirdness.

Dr. William Price died on January 23, 1893 at age 92. He fostered a new druidic movement in Wales that included traveling with a half-naked man named Myrddin (the Welsh name for Merlin) and a goat. A statue of Price is at Llantrisant, Rhondda Cynon Taff. Well known for fighting against societal constructs of Britain during the late 1800s, he was also known for adhering to such principles as equal democratic rights for all men, vegetarianism, cremation, and the abolition of marriage, all of which were highly controversial at the time.

He has been widely labelled as an "eccentric" and a "radical" specifically during his druidic movement where he publicly shamed the construct of marriage, believing it to enslave women and started dressing in animal skins and growing his hair and beard long.

These are only a few of the aspects of his wild life so I recommend researching more about him! Maybe he will inspire one of you to have a movement of your own 😊
