Damar's Redemption Arc

The best part of DS9 Season 7 was Damar's redemption arc and no one can tell me otherwise.

Here you have this loyal Cardassian solider, probably done some things, seen some things. Killed some innocent people just for the hell of it. He makes a drunken fool of himself all the time, and he's a high-ranking officer who shouldn't be acting that way and he also can't stand what has become of his homeworld, but there is no room for dissent in the Dominion, no room to challenge the Founders and every time he tries to argue with Weyoun, the Vorta shuts him down.

And slowly, he comes around. Pulls himself together. People start to notice. Weyoun notices, and Damar comes to a revelation and defects. And he dies for what he believes in and its beautiful. He falls fighting for the Cardassia he knew, that once-proud empire of his youth that he helped lead astray. And in doing so, he atones, in part, for his sins. It couldn't have ended any other way.

He was the character that I was most devastated when he died - besides Jadzia, of course - because even though you knew it was coming, even though it was the inevitable, logical conclusion, it still hurts. You grow to care for him as a character, see him through a sympathetic lens. Who he could have been. Who he might have been, if he'd been a Federation citizen. Starfleet brings out the best in us all, and I think it would have brought out the best in Damar as well, as it did with Garak, as it does with so many characters.

I kind of want a domestic fic where Damar lives and somehow there's a Weyoun 9 kind of like Weyoun 6 and they all live happily ever after, Garak and Damar bickering like brothers and Julian and Weyoun bonding over their Cardassian mates. It's what I want and maybe it's what I'll write but probably not because who would read it?

Weyoun 6 deserved so much better. It would’ve been nice if there had been a way for him to have his ties with the Founders/Changelings cut without him having to use his kill switch.

As you tried to gently caress Weyoun’s face, you could feel him getting apprehensive and confused to the touch. You slowly moved your hand away, giving him space to breathe.

It was all unfamiliar to him. “Don’t be afraid, it’s ok,” you told him reassuringly. “Lay back, close your eyes, no one will hurt you anymore.” You took in the sight of him, he was beautiful, still a little tense. “You are safe with me. Say stop when it gets too much, okay?” You proceeded to kiss and caress him tenderly, giving him pleasure. When you started making love to him ever so slowly, you could feel him easing up a little, sighing. Then, something unexpected happened. You let him breathe, not daring to touch him. Weyoun was crying. You weren’t sure whether to reach out to him or just let him be, eventually he managed to say under tears: “That was overwhelming but amazing, thank you.” And then the questions came, one more erotic than the next all in his adorable naïveté: “The first thing you did what was that?” You needed a moment to collect yourself every time before answering. Speaking it out loud was on a whole different level. “I pleasured you orally.” There was a long pause, like he needed time to process. Then he replied: “That was incredibly intense and almost too much.” You couldn’t believe your ears at the next words he spoke: “I’d like very much to return the favor.” You had to gasp for breath. The sheer thought of him loving you back sent shivers down your spine. “And the other thing you did, what was that?” It was question after question. His curiosity had no beginning and no ending. “I was making love to you.” Another long pause. “I loved the way that felt.” He didn’t hesitate to describe in detail what he most enjoyed about it and you felt yourself close to coming just hearing the words. Then he stated matter-of-factly, referring to his erection. “This is starting to get a little uncomfortable, will it go away?” You gulped, the sight of him was too beautiful for words, only managing a quick glance, it was almost too much. You tried to answer without trembling: “When you let go and stop thinking and start focusing on what you feel, it will go away.” He kept his promise. The closer Weyoun came to touching you, you felt a wave of warmth washing over you. 10 seconds was all it took and you were done for. “Is it always this way?”, he asked. “The way you feel against my touch.” You nodded. “I love you and you arouse me so much …”, you managed to say, almost close to tears yourself.

Another pause followed by the most beautiful words you ever wanted to hear: “I’d like very much to make love to you in return and I want to look into your eyes while we do it, I love you, too and I wouldn’t want it any other way.” You felt his weight on top of you, almost unreal, you moaned against his touch. Time started to fade away and eventually you sensed him spilling deep inside …
