The thing that gets me about the storyline of the Bensons going "Nina is toxic and manipulative selfish monster" is that while yes, Nina has a Lot of problems (she is selfish and petty and that Family Complex she has is bordering on unhealthy), but saying someone is selfish and awful is ridiculous because it just about summarizes nearly every damn character on this show, especially the Bensons themselves.

Drew was neutered and turned into a soft-foam Jason stand-in.

Willow became bitter and hateful and would rather die than find a necessary middle ground with an adversary.

Dex is a much worse version of himself who literally only regressed to be used for in-your-face prop duty.

Look at what being with a Benson has done.

My two cents:

Part of me understands Willow still being upset with Nina.

Like Nina was awful to her before the whole Wiley stuff started. She was rude and cruel and badgering before Wiley was ever in the equation.

And then the Wiley stuff happened and everything else and it was awful. Yes, Willow and Michael have plenty of fault and Nina has her faults. Im not trying to pretend they didn't.

But from Willow's perspective, Nina's been on her ass for longer than just Wiley. It started when Willow was a teacher.

And Nina talking about how "if she had known, she never would have-" stuff just makes me shake my head. This is probably just my raising, but that isn't an excuse. That's like showing your true colors because there's no filter to sharing your thoughts.

And yes, it goes for Willow too. Willow didn't know Nina as a mom, so she went after her far harder and harsher than she did Harmony. Harmony was fucking awful for the Shiloh shit but because Willow saw/still sees her as her mom/woman who raised her, there's like a nostalgia/familiarity/love that's still there. Why she still can remember fondness in certain memories with Harmony.

But after this revelation: both women are reeling and their worlds are shaking.

I'm not hoping or thinking there will be reconciliation. Willow especially isn't into the thought because in her mind, Nina is still this woman who's harassed her for years.

Both need therapy honestly. Nina to deal with not smothering or trying to insert herself in places and to process how fucked up HER mother was, and Willow to process all this shit Harmony and Carly did and the fact the woman she hates most is her mom.

Maybe in a few years, they'll be close like Bobbie and Carly. Or maybe have a begrudging sort of relationship. Who knows?

I'm just glad they're not doing an immediate "i forgive you for everything" scene. Forgiveness for years of animosity takes time.

Also...

A quick note on the Heather/Hook thing. Please tell me Heather is ONE Hook and not the main one/original. Because Trina was supposed to be Final Girl. Not Josslyn.

Me: yeah, no, i agree. It doesn't make ANY sense that we watched joss and Dex be unnecessarily in another plot, play "heroes" again for doing what literally any other character could do, and now...

Now we've heard you two tell this story to at least another few characters.

But no, let's sit here and watch them explain to you and Willow, who are also rather unnecessary to this plot because the writers can't come up with any better plot than bensons being superfluous and self centered and annoying as hell while doing it since show runners won't trim characters

Let me tell you i'm so glad Trina got to call Joss out for basically being a hypocrite, because why does she get to be so overjoyed whenever her cult ass family skates on all their crimes but Trina can't stick by ava all because josslyn can't stand her. Like Trina isn't Willow girlie she has a backbone.🥴

Also I really need these writers to know their history because the Trava friendship predates esme arriving on the scene. It hasn't even been that long ago when Trina started working for ava thus the beginning of their friendship. Like please don't be disrespectful towards the Trava friendship especially when that friendship is way more balanced and open than the one she has with josslyn.🤨

Sidenote: Listen the way Trina rolled up on her when she said she was the problem had me dead. Oh it was about to go down. Maybe one day we'll finally get to see Trina drag her like a mop like it but I guess not today.😔

Anything involving Sonny

Anything involving Nina

Anything involving Sonny and Nina's joke of a relationship

A countdown clock to Nina inevitably realizing she's in love with "Mike," not Sonny, and they shouldn't be together

Sonny taking a conversation about any other topic and turning it into a complaint about Michael

Any mention of Jordan and Curtis' divorce papers or the speculation that she's still in love with him (who cares! That doesn't affect his relationship with Portia! Leave Jordan alone and let her solve crimes!)

Anything involving Cody and Britt

Any scene with Josslyn and Dex where he doesn't explicitly tell her to leave him alone

Another replay of the same flashback Elizabeth has been having for months

Any scene designed to try to convince me that Drew and Carly would be a good pair

Any scene designed to try to convince me that Anna would have any patience for Valentin

Any scene with Linc that doesn't include him getting skewered with a giant hook

Any scene with Willow and Michael where she doesn't tell him she has freaking cancer

An entire hour of Ryan sitting completely still and staring at nothing

I strongly implore the writers to stop letting Bensons enter the medical field. They are very ill-equipped for it, between Josslyn's bedside manner, Willow's forgetfulness of the most basic security protocols, and the negative amount of braincells both women possess.
