author's note: this post was a huge labor of love and came together absolutely amazingly due to the work of four amazing peeps who kindly agreed to collab with me on it! thank you to @orangeresearcher, @someone-elsa, and @nexility-sims for making Tiffany Rogers, Gunilla Roos, and Celeste Alford-Huff, the inimitable hosts of Women of A Certain Age, Armorica's #1 daytime talk show! The studio audience decos were made by the wonderful @xldkx!
transcript under the cut!
9:43 AM // February 29th, 2016
TIFFANY ROGERS | ...the Layes are the clear winner in my opinion.
GUNILLA ROOS | [scoffs]
GUNILLA ROOS | I don't see how you can call Jacques a winner when he couldn't even show up on time! Everyone else was there—
CELESTE ALFORD-HUFF | Haven't you ever been to one of these international receptions? Darling, being late is winning!
STUDIO AUDIENCE | [applause and laughter]
CELESTE ALFORD-HUFF | Can we get that picture of Jacques and Vivi back up?
STUDIO AUDIENCE | Awwww!
CELESTE ALFORD-HUFF | They. Are. Precious. My granddaughter says—
TIFFANY ROGERS | Okay, the Layes won, I think we can all agree—
GUNILLA ROOS | [scoffs]
TIFFANY ROGERS | —but I think we can also agree who lost.
GUNILLA ROOS | [offscreen] Prince Frederick—
CELESTE ALFORD-HUFF | [offscreen] Ugh!
TIFFANY ROGERS | [offscreen] I want to root for him, I really do!
GUNILLA ROOS | Entitled, lazy, incompetent...Freddy is everything that's wrong with the monarchy. Is that really who we want representing us abroad?
TIFFANY ROGERS | I don't usually agree with Gunilla—
STUDIO AUDIENCE | [offscreen, laughter and applause]
CELESTE ALFORD-HUFF | Freddy is the kind of man that if my granddaughter brought him home, I'd tell her to ask for a long engagement!
TIFFANY ROGERS | [offscreen] Right! And we're meant to believe he's some kind of Prince Charming? I feel sorry for the girl he marries.
CELESTE ALFORD-HUFF | [offscreen] Imagine him as a father.
GUNILLA ROOS | [scoffs] I'd rather not. Any child of Freddy's is going to be more of the same, just another spoiled-rotten leech living off taxpayer money.
STUDIO AUDIENE | [disapproving noises]
GUNILLA ROOS | I'd support the monarchy if they provided anything of value to society. But as long as we have a family of stuttering, braindead—
[TV shuts off]

Day 11 - O Mexiofrio - October 8
I slept well at the Albergue Camino Real. Which isn’t to say I didn’t still get up at 6 am. I think most of the pilgrims were out the door before I was.
This morning I left alone, yet still was part of a group of peregrinos. Most of them passed me, it’s true. But a set of 5 or 6 people stayed at my hiking speed, though we passed each other numerous times.
I walked past a small barn that…

The Long Game
If you workout, you’ve maybe had a favorite trainer at some point. I have been doing at home workouts on the same platform for over 3 years and over the years, I’ve used lots of online trainers. There are a couple that I really like and one who I would consider to be life changing.
Last month, he announced that he was personally going to be doing all of his workouts in a specific order (211 to…

straight up not respecting some of the alleged p2 characters' ages as they were given on the VA's papers bc you're telling me this is a 27yo man on the left & a 35(!)yo woman on the right? you jest. this woman is in her 20s at most. she doesn't have a wrinkle of age on her face. just worry. i know men age like milk this is taking the piss. i know patho 2 is the "hot blemishless 20something white(-passing) women" game but at this point own it. don't try lying to me. she doesn't look a day past 29. got friends below 25 with more winkles. in the first half of the 20th century too. where would she be getting her anti-aging serums.
you're telling me this woman who's a chronic worrier, dealing with chronic pain, who smokes like a locomotive to cope is allegedly 5 years Older than this guy who's been drinking himself to sleep for like 5 years.
(mike's mic voice) don't piss me off

If I'm ever being pestered by a particularly persistent gentleman and I want to kill our relationship amicably, I just start talking about livestock.
"How's it going?"
"Not that well, the heifer has flystrike. :("
" 'sup?"
"Not much. Just dewormed a sheep."
"Did you do anything fun today?"
"Yes! I finally found the nest one of the hens has been hiding from us. SIX EGGS!"
Works like a charm.

me: ..maybe i made my characters story too....tragic
literally my grandmother: so my family forced me to work as a maid in strangers' house since i was 10, i spent my childhood listening to my mothers horrible life full of marital rape and pregnancies one over the other, i have 9 siblings all of them half starving, then they made me quit school no matter how much i cried n made me marry a stranger at the age of 15-----once my mother stabbed me bc i interrupted her conversation with her friend

Day 9 - Baxoia - October 6 - A Bizarre End to the Day
My feet were sore when I got back to my lovely hotel. I guess the early, early morning had taken its toll. I went to my room (oh, blessed room!), covered up the windows with the shutters, covered my body in a thick blanket and slept for 2 – 3 hours! I didn’t think I needed that, but I did.
Here is the second weird event. When I was ready to rise, I realized that I would be short 1 stamp for…

what if i said it feels like "late diagnosed autism" is often used in a way that feels like aspie supremacy
because what do you MEAN "POV your late diagnosed friend is stimming" "the high school trauma that comes w/ late diagnosis" as if those aren't near-universal autistic experiences??
is it internalized ableism, a way to distance themselves from the Autistic stereotypes? or do people just genuinely think that early diagnosis <2015 gave people access to genuine & sympathetic assistance 😭
