On Omidale Station, it’s hard.

The best you can say, is that it’s not harder than it has to be. It’s far away from most places, so it’s hard to get much in the way of comforts. The pay’s good, but the hours are long and mostly only the most desperate become miners there. The loners, people with no one else left.

The asteroids are rich — Palladium, Iridium, Nickel, iron, gold even a few kilotonnes of impact diamonds every now and again. Some terrible alcohols, ammonia, water, and carbon for the taking — But it’s a two-way transaction: Every so often one of those big space burgs will do something unanticipated and the big red numbers in the memorial plaza will go up.

It’s pretty grim. They say the unofficial motto of Omidale is ‘They get you eventually. Being a dumbass just lets them get you faster’.

Intip, freshly arrived, still with the inorganic grime of his last job in the seams of his worksuit, had stopped to look around. As stations went, it wasn’t bad: Worn but maintained. Tired miners, sure, but not angry miners.

Not the vibe of a place skimming the pay or sending people out with only half a tank to save on costs.

And off in the corner, was a statue, sintered out of metal by some big 3D printer: A tired human male, in a baggy work suit, leaning on the wall, watching over the bustle of the departure hall.

Intip was fortunately with Sissk, an Atrix he’d worked with on and off since they were practically a Little Guy.

“Hey Sissk, what’s with the statue - Some sort of local hero?” he asked.

Sissk followed his gaze and grunted.

Sissk recalled, two years ago when one of the miners, who hadn’t been able to handle the conditions, had walked into an airlock without his suit. She thought about how the crowd had parted for this little old guy with the sad face who’d walked up and spent three hours talking the miner down.

“That’s got to be… what, the fiftieth time?” someone said.

“More like the hundredth…” someone else replied.

Sissk nodded to Intip. “Yeah. Some kind of Hero.” she said at last, and thumped her chest, her head patch rippling a respectful pattern.

“Come one, let’s get you settled… and Intip? Around here, we talk. If things get bad, you tell us. Station rules.”

Mando is back on Tatooine and as he brings his ship to Peli's, he's in need of a place to stay. It's so good that you live alone in an apartment with plenty of space!

You wipped a drop of motor oil from your cheek before cleaning your hands on your lilac worksuit as you smiled at the ship you had just fixed.

You worked for Peli as her assistant, helping around the workshop for a few years now. You weren't native to Tatooine but after leaving your parent's house it had become your home.

You had made quite a few friends, even meeting the recent Daimyo, working for Peli also had it's benefits; You saw all kinds of ships, and there wasn't anything (well, maybe a specific mandalorian) you loved more than ships.

The breeze picked up as you turned around, hearing an engine roar close and there you saw it, that old -but beautiful in your opinion- gunner Razor Crest.

-Mando!- You heard Peli before you saw her, approaching you and the landing ship. - Mando's here!

You smiled and felt buterflies flutter on your stomach as the ship's ramp came down, your hands quickly went to your hair, fixing any stray hairs and cleaning your face with the sleeve of your suit.

Your nervousness was noticed by your boss, who sent you a wink as the mandalorian walked down the ramp of the ship.

- Awww, where's the little womprat?- Peli pouted as she looked around for the little green child.

- He's sleeping in his cot. It was....a long trip.- Mando sight tiredly- Too long... -He rubbed his helmet as the circular cot came down the ramp behind him.

Peli and you shared a look and before you could stop her she spoke.

- You need a place to stay for the night, right?- Peli asked as she walked to the closed cot.- So you and the munchking can truly rest well, right?

Mando looked at Peli silently, the helmet completely obscured your gaze from seeing his face but his alert bodylanguage made you stiff a small giggle.

- You two can stay at her apartment- She smirked at you as the giggles turned into coughts, you knew you were blushing and that made Peli's smirk widen.- You do have a pretty cozy sofa, don't'cha? Beter than the floor, right Mando?- she elbowed the armoured man who was caught off guard.

- I don't want to burden...- The man started before you cut him off.

- It's okay for me. I wouldn't want to let such a cutie sleep on the floor- You smiled at the surprised mandalorian.

Preening under his attention, you turned around and put your hands on your hips, winking at the man

- And by that, I meant Grogu- You couldn't help the small laught as Mando looked at the now opened cot and the smiling green babe who waved at you. He sighed again in defeat as Peli laughed heartily, patting Mando's back.- Now follow me, beskarboy.

- Don't worry Mando, I'll take a look at your ship, you sure you don't prefer a newer one?- Peli said as she looked as a piece of metal fell from the Crest.

- IT'S A CLASSIC PELI!- You enthusiastically yelled as you were leaving aa the other woman burst in laughter again as Mando's gaze didn't leave your figure for a moment.

- Aand this is my humble abode! - You smiled as the large man looked around your small apartment, he was tall and broad and you couldn't help but bit your lower lip.

"He's so hot" You thought as you looked at the man helping the small babe onto the comfy sofa.

- It's cozy, very pretty.- He said, standing awkward in the middle of your living room- Just like you.

- What?- Your eyes widdened. Did you just imagine that? Did he really say he thought you were pretty?!

- Don't give me that look- Mando said walking closer to you as Grogu got comfortable above your fluffiest pillow. His gloved thumb caressed your cheek softly before he regained his shyness, he took a step back and coughed on his fist as your face matched the twin sunset behind you.

- You're pretty...Very pretty.- He coughed akwardly, his visor was looking at the floor and you truly wanted to grab him by his cape and smack your lips against his, even if you had to be blindfolded so he would take that helmet off.

-Thank you- You mumbled shyly, your hand going to the cheek he had just caressed. Your eyes locked with the visor, as you two hold eye contact. The moment felt so intimate...- Um...food? - Akwardly, nervous and red as a tomato, you broke the silence with a smile.

- Uh...oh, um..- Mando stood tight, trying to regain his composure.- Yes... Yes, um for the kid. Thank you.- He said as he walked to sit next to the kid who was playing with your lamp, turning it on and off.

- Stop that, you can get hurt.- He admonished the child softly and you felt your heart flutter. He was just too adorable... Maybe you could... Tell him about your feelings. You didn't know when would be the next time you would see him and you truly couldn't hold onto these feelings no more.

That night, you had put Grogu to sleep on your bed early. After playing all evening with you the child was truly drained, so after some food you two tucked him to sleep.

Now, Mando and you were sitting on your couch, awkward as you two were, eyes trained onto the beige wall of your apartment. You had been hyping yourself up all evening and now that the moment was here you were too nervous.

- Uhm...Thank you for letting us stay here- The rough modulated voice of the man broke your train of thought.- I'm very thankfull. The kid truly needed a bed after this mision.

Your lips formed a small smile as you heard how he still focused so much on the child's safety and comfort.

- It's nothing,truly. He's a sweetheart- You smiled as you felt his gaze on you- and so are you.

Mando looked at you with a surprised look under his helmet, his tanned cheeks dusted red at your comment.

- I'm...I'm not sweet. I'm a bountyhunter, I am dangerous.- He mumbled, trying to get his blush to fade.

You couldn't help but stiffle your laugh with your hand, looking at him with an amused smile.

- Oh I don't doubt of your dangerousness. Two things can be true at once- You smiled as you unconciously put your head on his plated shoulder.- You're a sweetheart and an amazing father.- You smiled softly, looking off the distance as Mando's gaze zeroed on your face, counting your lashes from how close you two were.

His heart was beating loud and fast, his skin was sweating as his brain short-circuited.

- I want to taste you.- He blurt out, surprising you and himself. - I-Um... I'm sorry, I-

You cut him off with a kiss to his helmet, Mando was caught by surprise as he fell on his back as you climbed above him.

- I want to taste you too- You shyly mumbled- For a long time...- The mandalorian's arms softly wrapped around your waist as you sat against his thigh. His hands caressed your back softly, pulling you closer giving you a kedable kiss.

- I want to be with you- You mumbled as tears stung your eyes, feeling his hands on you made you realize that this was real, that it was happening.- At least for a night. I want to be yours.

Mando's hands closed possesively around your buttocks, kneadling and making you let out a small moan.

- You were mine the moment you gave the kid those frog-shaped cookies.- He mumbled, massaging your rear as your hips softly started rotating against his thighs.

You couldn't help the giggle that escaped your lips between soft moans.

- You still remember that? - You moaned softly, kissing the exposed part of his neck, rubbing your cheek against the stubble under his helmet.- That was so long ago...

Drizzle Season 2023 Trailer Breakdown!

Hey everyone! So we finally got a new trailer for Drizzle Season 2023 (and before y'all ask there was no Side Order in the trailer, unfortunately...) and damn this season's looking fresh! Anyways, here's my breakdown of the trailer (including some news that wasn't in the trailer!)

New splatband inkoming! In the trailer we get a preview of a new song called "Ripstop and Go" by a new splatband called H2Whoa!

New stage #1: Crableg Capital!

New weapon type #1: the Dread Wringer, a new slosher that shoots two slosher projectiles at once!

Also it appears that we're finally getting a second kit for the Tri-Stringer!

New stage #2: Shipshape Cargo Co. (suprisingly we aren't getting a returning stage... or are we...?)

New weapon type #2: Heavy Edit Splatling. Not too sure what this new splatling's gimick is, though.

We're getting new, interesting worksuits for Salmon Run as well!

Tableturf Battle cards reveal other returning weapons such as Goo Tuber Deco, a new Sloshing Machine (most likely Sloshing Machine Neo), Octobrush Nouveau, Bloblober Deco, Ballpoint Splatling Nouveau, and a new vanilla brella (most likely a sorella).

New king salmonid Tableturf Battle cards (if only we actually got a new king salmonid instead of just cards)

New challenges include Inkjets for Everyone (Too Many Trizookas but with inkjets), Swim It to Win It (not too sure what the gimick to this challange is), and Modded Rainmaker Test-Fire (where the rainmaker has 3 shots instead of one).

And that's all I could get from the trailer. Anyways here's some news that we DIDN'T get with the trailer!

Next splatfest will be held next month from the 8th to the 10th, celebrating S3's first anniversary! The theme? Well, hold onto your tentacles everyone because the next splatfest theme is.... Who would be the best leader? Shiver v Frye v Big Man! Basically we're getting a repeat of the S1 final splatfest, Callie v Marie, but without the change of one of Deep Cut's members getting squidnapped!

Not only will we be getting a splatfest next month, before the fest we'll be having a big run starting from September 1st to the 3rd! The stage hasn't been announced yet, but I will post an update once we get more news about the big run!

We're getting Deep Cut badges! These badges can be earned by playing 10x battles! And if you can't win a 10x battle or can't make it this splatfest, you can win them in other splatfests!

Speaking of banner decor, everyone will be able to recieve Deep Cut banners via Splatoon 3's news channel on the switch starting the begining of Drizzle Season 2023!

Periphery Headcanon

Being so heavily inspired by the Fallout series, my Lily is a periphery baby, because it fits into the way I have written my wastelander character. And since My Time seems to me like a Fallout Lite TM, why not mix in some aspects?

I headcanon that a lot of the Peripheries and beyond are pretty much a Wasteland similar to the one in the Fallout universe; with variations in climate.

Radiation and chemical mutations are a thing, just like we have found in various instances of the game, such as the Shipwreck, the mines in Portia, The Valley of Whispers, the mutant rats and other sentient animals, etc.

The mutated humanoids give me feral ghoul vibes. Sluggish movements, mind is gone, obviously former humans. Those in worksuits also resemble the ghosts in Dead Money.

The surface itself is littered with Old World buildings, that would normally be scavenged like the settled ruins in the Alliance and inhabited locations... but hear me out.

What if everything is so dangerous out there, because it's considered to be the ground zero for whatever calamity has happened? And the chemical leakages were much stronger and concentrated than on (ironically) the Periphery and beyond, aka. the current habited countries.

Would explain the monsters being stronger, bigger, and faster. Doss was literally destroyed by a huge monster from the Periphery, and frontier town Civil Corps have to deal with them from time to time.

Now, hear me out. Isn't it interesting how militarized Duvos is? Or how scientific advanced Vega 5 is, compared to the rest of the world? How comes these two countries are so concentrated with their respective fields, while the rest have a little bit of everything?

Duvos == Enclave. Hear me out. They're both highly militarized. Enclave itself is composed from pre-War military personnel and scientists from whatever is left of the United States government. They have this superior attitude over their own purity and right to govern. They don't believe they're doing anything wrong. They are highly militarized (military bases, Power Armor suits, multi-leveled bunkers, airships), industrialized (self-sustaining bunkers, oil rigs), and are ferocious patriots. Sounds familiar?

Now; let's look at Duvos. Huge empire, seems to uphold Old World Glory ideals, superiority and almost godlike complex, highly militarized and industrialized, access to advanced tech, airships, and gear, military-grade armor and armament, and very very patriotic. I revised some of the Duvos' invasion questline dialogue, and the sense of patriotism is very strong. Fitting.

Vega 5 == Institution. Almost. Since Vega 5 is part of the Alliance, they're not autonomous psychos that kidnap surface dwellers for experiments and entertainment. But they are both: fairly secluded, science oriented, studying different fields, have a ferocious military power (considering the Alliance could only push back against Duvos when Vega 5 lended their expertise), curious by nature, pragmatic, focused on bettering the human race above all, competitive, cold on average.

For those that are not familiar with the Institution; the Old World scientists that hid in the bunker between the Institute of Technology, slowly started to dig and work away, keeping up with their research even two centuries after the war. See? They were also hidden in bunkers.

The My Time history page also suggests that the humans were driven underground after the Age of Calamity started. But they were highly advanced tech-wise... wouldn't it make sense that they hid in bunkers, and not caves?

You can see where I'm going with this, right?? Hear me out. What if the settlers of Duvos, and the settlers of Vega 5, were old military and science personnel that used to inhabit the various bunkers scattered across the Periphery and beyond. What if, due to various reasons, they left and went on their merry way. What if, in some cases, they were forced outside by the life support system of the bunkers collapsing.

Now, I guess in some cases, they didn't get along and just shot each other to death. But some could have just wanted to restore the Old World, while others only cared about bettering the human race. Some didn't agree with each other, and simply split up. Others just headed towards the newly formed Alliance, to aid them with their technical knowledge.

I also headcanon that some of the bunkers exist. Lily was born in Year 76, and for the first few years of her life, she inhabited such a bunker, before the life support system failed on them. Maybe the water chip broke (heh). But her parents wanted to join trading caravans and aid the settlers as Wasteland Scientists; while her uncle and his family headed for Vega 5, aided by a search party. Or by a Monster Hunting guild team. Something.

That's why Lily's cousin is a Vega 5 researcher, and she's an angry bounty hunter.

I also headcanon that civilization wise; there are camps, inhabited ruins by small groups of people, Monster Hunting guild outposts, trading caravans, groups of prospectors and scavengers; bandit camps, fugitives, outlaws, and many mercenaries that grew up here and migrated towards Duvos, Ethea, or the Alliance, to earn a better living as hired guns and bounty hunters.

It's unforgiving as heck.

Makes you wonder how Wei survived for so long and seems so happy and upbeat.
