So I got tea about This One's Different directly from Matt Jenkins (the co-writer)

A friend of mine went to ask him a question about the song after a show he did yesterday (March 27th 2025). He was surprised when my friend asked him about the song lol he didn't know that the title was out there (although we know it because it's been copyrighted forever, nothing shady). He confirmed that he and Taylor wrote the song in Tampa on January 26, 2008 but they recorded the worktape days later in Nashville at the Sony Music Room. As the IC said, Taylor only sings backup harmonies on the worktape. Taylor came up with the idea and while they were writing it he was asking himself wheter they were writing for him or for her. They wrote the song in a couple of hours. He did not recall any lyrics and he also said that he lost touch with Taylor over the years but he remembers her being melodic and talented.

"Ref attempts at musical underscoring of The Many Colored Land; I've found in my archives 4 more tracks which I've added to the Bandcamp version of "A Pliocene Sampler", my noodling (yes, they;'re worktapes, not worked up). Two of the tracks later did get worked up later and on CD/albums (which covered their costs, so there!) but I figure put it all up, people can listen, enjoy or not.
