Former Servant Girl - Kallian's family have served the Sunstrider royal household for generations. Although they were commoners with no noble blood, they had always lived among the wealthiest and most elite of High Elf society. Kallian's old life was one of luxury and hard work combined, ensuring the estates, clothes and households lived up to the luxury expected of the nobility. A Very Angry Elf - Kallian suffered from intermittent explosive disorder before becoming a demon hunter, which made her life difficult enough. During the scourge invasion of Silvermoon, she watched helplessly as the undead hordes tore her family apart, only to immediately raise their corpses so they could attack Kallian. She had to destroy their shambling remains multiple times as they continually rose again, more disfigured and desecrated than before. Until all that remained were piles of meat and Kallian's broken, vengeful psyche. A Life Returned - The Illidari were formed to fight a very specific enemy. That enemy is no longer a major threat, and demon hunters all across Azeroth have had to find new purpose. no one asked, but here's some jasper mckenzie (my hf oc) hcs and stuff bc i'm thinking abt the blorbo from my brain again

the mckenzie family loves game shows, and that includes jasper. pre-rollerama, jasper often dreamed abt him or one of his family members being on a game show and winning a ton of money so they could move into a nicer house. once jasper started fighting in the rollerama and earning tons of money for their family, that fantasy kinda died (not like they needed game show money anymore). but they're still really passionate abt game shows, and when he grows up he really wants to make and/or host a game show one day. somehow both of my hf ocs either work in tv or have aspirations of working in tv.

speaking of jasper being grown up, i could never pinpoint which hf cast member i would imagine playing jasper if he was like a canon character bc they're only 13. but i started picturing what jasper would look like as an adult recently, and surprisingly i think jeff is the closest match. like, jeff with a bit less facial hair and curlier hair is how i imagine adult jasper, at least in terms of which cast member they most closely resemble.

jasper's best friend at the rollerama is jae's fighter character (y'know, the "that was wicked, yellow jacket!" kid). they were also the cause of jasper realizing he was Not Cis. like "wow, instead of going by he or she, you're a they? that's so cool, i wish i could do that :)", "...jasper, i have something to tell you-".

on the subject of gender, jasper prolly goes through A Lot of mini gender crises as they get older. jumps between several different sets of pronouns and labels for a while, maybe even id-ing as a trans girl and changing their name for like A Month before going "yeah nvm, that doesn't feel right". by the time they hit 21, i think he decides to settle back on he/they and not really label their gender.

jasper has a lot of foods that he can't really stand eating anymore after living in poverty for the first 11 years of his life, both from association and just generally being sick of it. pizza and cup ramen, mainly. they can stomach homemade, baked from scratch pizza, but like cheapo take-out pizza and frozen pizza just makes them kinda queasy now. similar case with ramen, the packaged or cup stuff makes his stomach turn, but the first time he got to have real ramen was an Experience. like you can make this stuff good? since when!?

really took to the post-fight rollerskating sessions at the rollerama, and managed to become really good at it. he's one of the few kids at the rollerama to have upgraded to rollerblades, and he's really proud of being able to out-skate some of the older kids.

gets crushes all the time without even realizing it. they've had small crushes on just about every kid at the rollerama, even if just for a little bit. on the rare occasion he does realize it's a crush, he kinda freaks out a bit. they're not emotionally prepared for these feelings, how do you turn them off-

THANK YOU FOR THE ASK :D. This is okay this makes sense. They have the same name pretty much </33 They are a fork of the same mnecraft skin, nearly, except Sea transcended mnecraft and became real and Seren did not. He also became emo. And, uh, I guess on principle transed their gender.

👁️ EYE - what colour are their eyes? do people notice their eyes? is there anything special about them (shows emotion easily, literally magical...)?

Seren has brown eyes because I think they’re pretty. I have too many brown eyed ocs but like… brown eyes. (Serena, in fact, has green eyes, because I thought they were pretty when I made her. They were both at one point self representations. My eyes are blue . the grass is always greener. etc.) (Neither are sonas anymore but when they were just mnecraft skins o7).

🎂 BIRTHDAY CAKE - when is their birthday? do they like celebrating it?

I’ve not given him one!! I do not think he likes celebrating it anymore because they are a sad sad man. Birthdays are a social activity and he doesn’t have many friends.

🌙 MOON - what is your oc's greatest wish? how far are they willing to go for it?

They want their kid/sibling/CVwoop back :(. Far enough for what he believes is necromancy and then obsessive guardianship to the point that it drives it away again, but, well, he’s sort of at a loss now! In general they are very driven. Pre-Incidents (™), he wanted nothing more than studying modded phenomenon and getting his hands on powerful magic artifacts :D. He also sort of wants the power that comes with this, I have a few like, concepts w/ mods and stuff, but….. You know, a normal amount of powerhungry.

He does NOT have control of the situation. He has never had control of the situation. He was absolutely winging it when he was an explorer and he’s winging it now. He is not admitting this. He’s a bit of a conman these days, which relies on having all of the cards, anyways. Everything is under control (“this is fine” dog meme).

🏊 SWIMMING - can they swim? or are they afraid of water? how well do they swim? how do they feel about swimming in the ocean?

They can! I think he’s okay at swimming. Nothing special. He would take Vwoop (water type) swimming, probably. He doesn’t like ocean expeditions. Ocean creatures are scary, actually. 

🎭 MASKS - do they act differently around certain people? what's different between the way they act around friends, family, strangers, etc.?

He’s pretty straightforward, aside from working (Unethical Customer Service Voice). He views individual people in different ways but not necessarily as, like, a class of people. I think he is more pleasant around strangers though. He wants the lasting impression to be that he is, at least, Pretty Cool and Impressive.

💧 DROPLET - random angst headcanon

Hmmmm . He is kind of an angstfest as is because he is the inciting incident for another character and really just refuses to heal from these incidents. He’s still trying to peddle the prototypes for recreating his once-again-lost kid figure in a lab (marketed as Exotic Pets, mostly under the guise of “animal! But Ender! Rare! Wow.”. Most of them are dangerous. They require a waiver to be signed. He is truly the unethical breeder that one has warned you about). That’s kind of depressing.

HMM. Unsure. He is not really in contact with a lot of people for long </3. Acts of service, probably.

💚 GREEN HEART - what things make your oc feel comforted? hugs, kisses, food?

He likes the outdoors. It’s comforting to just be around outside, especially in the outskirts of servers where there is nothing except terrain and the occasional structure. They just want to go on little adventures. Tender moment by a campfire type of guy, probably.

I love Avery and have been following you for about a month, but I refuse to actually read the pinned post detailing his character bc I haven't finished the game and I don't want spoilers. So I have to vaguely piece together his story like:

Oh wow thank you! If I’m being honest, I can barely remember my process for creating them. K(alix) was an OC of mine that I created when I was 11, but their personality is pretty different from my OC version.

From what I can remember I chose their ethnicities and names first. Then I thought about their sexualities and gender identities. I decided to make them all gender-selectable except Cody to begin with, but as I got further along with Luisa, her male/nonbinary versions just weren’t clicking for me, so I decided to genderlock her to female. It’s a wip at the end of the day, things change and you should always do what makes you feel most comfortable.

After that, I outlined vague character descriptions with tropes and characteristics that I enjoy seeing in ROs, and then fleshed them out using asks and Pinterest boards.

Scenario asks are actually so helpful, especially in the beginning of writing your wip. I know I rarely answer them anymore (which is because I felt like my answers were getting repetitive and it was driving me nuts and killing my motivation to write nova at all), but I don’t think I would know my characters half as well as I do without the many I’ve had over the last nine months!

So, thank you so much to everyone who ever sent me an ask and helped my characters grow 🫶

Hello! Sometimes I see you post stuff from IF blogs and I've recently started playing some IF games, which I've enjoyed so far. Do you have any IF stories you'd recommend in particular? I'm not attached to any particular genre and I don't need romance or a self-insert main character, (though I'm not opposed to either). Though, it's a definite plus if it's LGBTQ+ inclusive! I'm not really sure what the "cornerstones" are of IF so I'll take any and all recommendations haha

Oh god, I play so many IFs. So many. And it’s not even close to all of them, but I’m trying!!

Tbh IFs without romance seems to be very rare, I think because when I think IF I think Choice of Games, and those pretty much always have romance in them. At least, the most well known ones do. But a well done one without romance would be nice too!

Okay, this is a list of my favourites! They’re all LGBT+ inclusive, and most have gender selectable love interests, or at least ones that change gender depending on the gender and sexuality combination you pick. In no particular order, of course.  Behind a cut because I’m gonna give them each a mini review. Because I haven’t done that yet.

(There are so many.)

Mind Blind: I absolutely love our big brother Nick, I love how witty and sharp so much of the dialogue is, I love how the MC clearly has a rather large handicap, but is still such an important person to so many people and not looked down on in the slightest. And when they are, we all know it’s because that person is a jerk! They’re not defined by what they aren’t, but what they are, and that’s a great message.

Shepherds of Haven: Part of why I love this one so much is I just love fantasy settings and this one just pulls it off so well. The cast is full of amazing characters, and I gotta say I die inside pretty regularly for not being able to afford the patreon content, lol. The author puts so much amazing stuff on there, and gives us so much great content in the game and through answers on tumblr, and you can tell this whole thing is just the best thing ever to them, and that makes it the best ever for us readers too!

The Wayhaven Chronicles: I’d be shot if I didn’t mention this one, the series that literally killed dashingdon when the book 3 demo dropped!! Again, another author that cares a lot and does their best to do right by their fans. We’ve been given drip after drip of these amazing characters backstories, and I just cannot wait for more! It’s definitely very romance centered, but the overall plotlines are also very good, and I have to say that no matter who I romance, I just feel like the group as a whole is a family. And that’s wonderful.

Speaker: I really like the lore. I really like the lore. I can’t wait until we get more of the overall plotline. Mostly I want my Speaker to get in deep trouble so Seb, Li and Seer (best sister ever) go off and beat the shit out of whatever is causing it. This probably says something about me, but what can I say, I thrive on angst and inflicting near death injuries on my OCs. Sometimes I even kill them, although all of this is offtopic. Or is it? I guess we’ll find out, although I doubt we’ll actually be able to kill off Speaker. And yes, I am definitely playing the Seb & Li poly route. I love them both so much. 

Wilhelmina: I love vampires, ok? Ok? And this one is based off Dracula!! The OG!! And you can choose Drac’s gender!! Shit, sign me up forever!! Yeah, she might be literally killing my bff, torturing my fiancé and low key fucking with my mind, but vampires are hot!! Let me live! Or not. But yeah, this is a really well done retelling of the Dracula novel and I like how well it works as an IF. Did I mention I like vampires?? Especially when they get all monstery?? (This one has an MC with a set gender, as it’s based on an already existing literary figure. Mina can have a same sex relationship with dracula, if you make drac a female, or with Lucy, a female love interest.)

More Things in Heaven and Earth: Hi Nell!! First off, I gotta uncover a deep shame of mine. My family literally has a Shakespeare heirloom collection. As in, my greatgrandfather passed down through the family a collection of Shakespeare that was published in 1911. In ye olde englishe. I tried to read it when I was like 10 and was like what language is this?? What the fuck? What the fuck??? And ended up reading As You Like It, a bit of Romeo and Juliet, and a little of Hamlet. Didn’t touch the rest of it. I only got into the other stories through trashy ya reimaginings. That said, this retelling of Hamlet inspired me to go read the whole of the original and now I have a lot of fears for these characters that I’m so much more attached to, oh god I hope my Ophelia has a happy ending. I hope Hamlet himself has a happy ending. The dialogue is so well done, everyone is engaging, and yeah it made me finish an old af book when nothing else did. (This one also has an MC with a set gender, female, for the same reason. However, there are two gender variable love interests, so you can very much play a bi or gay Ophelia if you so choose.)

Guenevere: I love King Arthur. All the myths. I have so many books based on the King Arthur mythos, oh dear god. I love pretty much every version of it. All the movie and tv shows too! I just can’t get enough of those knights. I could go on for paragraphs about how courtly love worked and how all the different social castes were, but I’ll try not to. This series lets you customize Guen as a character to an amazing degree, considering that she’s also based on an actual literary figure like the other two I mentioned above. It really feels like she becomes your own character, and yet she still exists within this world very very well. I worry quite a bit that the author might have bit off more than they can chew with the current book they’re working on, what I’ve seen of it looks absolutely massive in scale. What is out so far is a wonderful read though, full of drama and laughter and lots of chances to make the story your own.

Bastard of Camelot: Yep! Another King Arthur series! Sue me! This one lets you set Mordred’s gender though, so it’s more inclusive in that way. It is very interesting to play as one of the “bad guys” of the King Arthur mythos. You can play them as straight up evil, as good, or you know, a bit of column a and a bit of column b. Or they can just be a rude little shit. It’s got dragons too! You get a dragon pet! Dragons are cool. It can be a bit tough to play sometimes, since a lot of people dislike Mordred quite a lot because of prejudices. Hopefully this will change a bit later in the series if you’ve been a fairly good person up to that point. Gotta say though, as a warning, that Mordred is a product of incest. It’s not glossed over, and it does cause a lot of problems for them in the story.

God of the Red Mountain: I just love that this inspired me to read more chinese mythology tbh. There is just so much here! And it’s just such a good read. I wish I was better at describing things. The MC being a spirit that you can define, the whole setting, most of the love interests also being spirits, the massive amount of history and culture and lore, how it all fits together. It is such a well done story. I really wish it got more attention than it does. I still miss Big Sister. I still can’t wait to find out more about the foxes, and how we can heal our MC.

The Nameless: Another one that lets you play as something otherworldly. I love the lore behind this one, and I love all of the cast I’ve met. I kind of like that our MC isn’t loved right off the bat, that we’ll have to win over all of our love interests and even the other npcs. I’m up for the challenge! Everything I’ve read on the tumblr for these characters just makes me love them all more tbh. I love how much they’ve written for all of them! Most of all though, I love Oisein. All the art of them is just *chef kiss* and their personality is magical.

A Mage Reborn: This is a really recent one but!! Wow, it’s really well done! That cliffhanger!! Oof!! Not many books literally start with killing your MC off! That takes guts! I told the author this already, but I love the way they formatted this, the way it starts with the end, so to speak, and then fills it all out. It just made everything feel so poignant, how MC is literally looking back at all these moments in time in the last minutes they have before they die. Shit. That’s powerful. And there’s gonna be more??? Can’t wait for that angst. Give me that drama. Of course I picked the one who had me killed, that’s just how I am!

These are all just the COG type games, there are a few twine games with graphics I’d throw on here, but the list is long enough as it is and they feel like they’re in a different category to me. Maybe it’s just me?

just realized i don’t talk about my ocs and paracosms enough

in celebration of my animation project being done (i plan to upload it and the uncut storyboard in the next couple weeks and share it with you all) imma talk about angels

so in my Nine Realms and MDRP paracosms, there are angels. MDRP world stuff is kind of in the air but the following at least applies to Nine Realms

So here is The Aether (part one)

Angels are from the realm called the Aether (ee-thur). A very bright realm with two suns in its gold-hued sky, pale pink flora, silver soil and bark, and opalescent mountains. Due to all of its inhabitants having wings, the most common structures are tall, columned buildings with multiple floors. The only way to the higher floors is to fly up. The primary mode of travel is flying.

You might be thinking, well how do non-angel visitors get around if it’s so centered around flight?

They don’t. Outsiders are rarely allowed in the Aether. The number of mortals let in (key words “let in”— the portals are open, most are simply turned away at the gates with a warning. Demon invasions being slaughtered are an excellent example of what happens when someone tries to enter anyways) in the past few millennia could be counted on a hand. Other immortals, maybe two hands.

Well, what about angels who can’t fly due to injury? Or were born that way such as my character Eva?

They are escorted around by being carried and often put up with microagressions throughout their (may i add immortal unless killed) life. They rarely are instated in high (figuratively and literally) or visible positions. All while their valid frustrations are waved off with polite smiles or outright scorn. (oh wow oh gee it’s great that stuff like this doesn’t exist irl /s)

The higher ups don’t want to ruin the hundreds of millennia old architectural styles by changing the aesthetic.

Doesn’t magic exist? Couldn’t they assist individuals with magical personal aids—

Yup.

Then why—?

The Aether’s government is more focused on promoting “goodness” and “perfection” according to their religion and maintaining the status quo than actually improving things. Black magic is outlawed and dark magic has so many restrictions that most performed magic is with light magic, severely limiting what can be done. They’d also rather put their resources into military or their own lifestyles than things helpful to a relatively small number of people. But basically ableism. Ableism and some deeply entrenched conservatism. Making change there is really fucking hard.

Angels pushed for at least a millennia to have a single community with looser restrictions in order to have freer self-expression (colorful clothes, piercings, tattoos, “unpleasant” art styles such as screamo or rock— basically non-conformity in general).

The Aether has a stick so high up its ass, the angels who leave for educational excursions to other realms often either don’t come back (officially “assumed dead” to discourage others from following suit), or end up leaving for good eventually anyways. Even the revered archangels. Uriel hasn’t been back in centuries. Samael and Azazel are living much more fulfilled lives after their banishment. Eva had several very fulfilling centuries before her decline into magic addiction. And, even now, she’s not miserable, things are just much more complicated (permanent body or mind-altering magic is a risky thing to tamper with and the latter rarely goes “well”). Still, there are plenty who want to stay and make change. It just takes extremely long given that hardly anyone dies.

While there’s plenty sucky with Aetherian society, I want to highlight some things I think are neat.

There aren’t gender roles. The concept is very bizarre to angels, who when visiting other realms will usually adopt whatever gender they are given— or whatever is most beneficial in an interaction. Many angels (unsure of percentage currently) would be considered intersex and look fairly androgynous.

Though angels may identify as a man, woman, or non-binary outside of the Aether (or other things in realms with other gender sets), it doesn’t make sense there since the native language Aetherial doesn’t have any more of a concept of gender than its society. Sexual promiscuity is viewed negatively, however. Intercourse is a very don’t ask, don’t tell. It is for baby making and not many of those are needed. It isn’t illegal to woohoo for funsies but most don’t and it’s associated with the lower (implications, “lesser”) realms, so it’s viewed as weird.

The most common orientations are panromanticism and asexuality. This works out well considering angels stop aging around 25 and don’t die unless killed. Low death rate and low birth rate.

Because births are so spread out and family structures are fairly loose— the community has caretakers comparable to daycare and school that mostly take over for the parents— many don’t know who all of their siblings, cousins, etc are. There aren’t a whole lot of terms for distant family members either. Before starting a relationship with someone, an angel must visit the ancestral archives to make sure they aren’t too closely related.

Angels have two names. A given name, and a virtue name. The virtue name is chosen and often represents a trait that they admire and strive for. However, some choose a name that is in remembrance of a passed loved one. There are other exceptions but those are the most common directions.

I wanted to show more of this, or at least the ableism, architecture, and polite facade, and of how different the Nether is in Fallen, but many scenes were cut or reduced to finish in time. Hopefully I will get around to making a comic of what I intended, but either way a lot of it is still there.

I could go on and on, but I’ll leave social hierarchies for another time!

zukka hp au part 5

I’m so flattered people like this au. I didn’t think I’d be posting again so soon, but I had some more ideas last night. If you’d like to catch up:

My brief, very long, not at all fleshed out plan based roughly on what year Sokka is in and other associated events:

First year

Sokka’s first year is boring 

He meets Zuko, makes some friends in his house, probably a bunch of OCs

He finds the kitchens on day 2

Hogwarts just hires people who like to cook, who cares whether they’re magical beings or humans or whatever, there’s all sorts of really cool kitchen magic though

He’s always asking questions in class and you can tell why he’s a Ravenclaw

He wants to learn about everything

And once he knows how to do more than shoot a few sparks, he’s going to start inventing

He’s going to do some truly awesome things with transfiguration and potions

And I can’t wait for him to start arithmancy

Like let me tell you, Sokka is a genius, and he’s probably going to be the only one who understands magical theory 

This just ended up being a rant about Sokka, so moving on

Second year

The fun starts

Katara and Aang are finally here

Sokka doesn’t know Aang is the avatar

I’m very tempted to have both Katara and Aang be in Hufflepuff

And they run into Sokka in the kitchens

He does a double take, like who is this boy with my sister??

But Aang’s a sweet kid

So Sokka is immediately like we’re bros now, I don’t make the rules

Iroh starts working at Hogwarts (sorry, I changed my mind from herbology) as the potions professor

He comes in on the train with Zuko who just got banished (I actually...might change the specifics)

Sokka doesn’t know what to make of that

Azula is also skulking around annoying Zuzu 

But I think she secretly cares a bit and threatens anyone that looks at his scar wrong, because Zuko helped her a lot with some stuff

I think she’s going to be in the same year as Katara and Aang? I’m not sure

I have plans for Azula

I think Mai and Ty Lee are going to be in Zuko’s year, but closer to Azula

Mai and Zuko will date at some point

I think Mai will end up with Ty Lee

But she and Zuko had a short relationship

I think it was more expected of them by their families that they date

But they’re good friends now

I’m not doing this betraying and cheating and hurting other characters to find out who you are thing

Everyone is having wholesome relationships that just don’t work out

(Sidenote, I’m changing things, and characters might end up a bit OOC for atla, and I’m really sorry, but this is just wish fulfillment for me)

Anyway, there’s a plot to find the avatar 

The mini gaang (toph isn’t here yet) learn the prophecy (still working on it)

Third year

They find out about Sokka and Katara’s mom

I don’t think Hakoda really knows what happened either. I don’t think he was in the country at the time

I also have some ideas for the water tribe/fire nation beef, but I just made the realization that if I spell everything out in these posts, what’s the point of writing for Ao3 XD

But spoilers, it’s going to be pretty angsty

But I like happy endings, so I may find a way to fix it

I have this whole idea that if Suki or the Kyoshi are also werewolves, they have really cool rituals to respect and honor the moon spirit and that allows them the ability to turn into wolves whenever they want and not just the full moon

So other people can also be born as werewolves, but different groups have different ways of being a werewolf

Also, I believe I said Zuko starts following Suki around thinking she’s the avatar

And then Sokka decides to fake being the avatar (I completely forgot when I said this would happen, so I’m assuming it’s this year or the next)

This is about when Sokka’s letters to Hakoda start going on about Zuko’s everything even more

Fourth year

Zuko (Zuko’s fifth year) witnesses something unspeakable

Sokka is kidnapped

Zuko saves Sokka

That’s all the detail I have on this XD

But the unspeakable thing and the kidnapping are going to be this year’s mystery

Zuko, the idiot, still thinks Sokka is the avatar at this point

Aang is like no

But doesn’t bother to say he is

So Zuko thinks Katara is the avatar for a hot sec

But has some nonsense logic that there’s no need to stop following Sokka, because if he or his sister are the avatar, of the two, Sokka’s more likely to give something away

Which okay, Zuko, not actually terrible reasoning, except Sokka’s been leading you around by the nose for ages

There’s none of this the avatar rotates which element they can use

Because that’s predictable

And half the fun is that Zuko is trying his best, but has zero clues

Fifth year

This is the big question

I���m not sure what to do with this year

I hope Sokka can start inventing

I want him to make some cool shit

There won’t be an equivalent of the DA as far as I can see :( I can’t figure out how I’d structure that

I think it would be really cool to see them all learning how to use their elemental magic though

Toph and Zuko don’t really need the help

Katara and Aang have always had to deal with all the crap going on, so they haven’t had much time for it

I’m wondering if I should bring in Paku

Aang has it rough, because air magic users are really rare now

So I think he might work with Iroh, because he’s studied other styles of magic extensively

Sixth year

I think Mai had to figure out she was bi

I truly think Zuko doesn’t have time for gender

For like five years, he’s like DO YOU KNOW WHO THE AVATAR IS and if you don’t, he’s already forgotten who you are

So my headcanon is that he’s pan and when he and Sokka eventually get together, Sokka doesn’t know anything about his orientation and just knows he dated Mai, so he’s like “are you cool with me being a dude? Sorry, I just know you’ve dated Mai, so just checking haha?”

And Zuko’s so done with all the random crap he’s dealt with that he’s like “wow, you have a dick? Congratulations”

But then realizes Sokka’s actually concerned and talks it out

Anyway, everyone’s leveled up now, we’re all masters at elemental and non-elemental magic (seriously, Sokka could’ve sat for his NEWTs last year if he wanted to. He’s that far ahead and magic is that intuitive for him)

I have no idea what will happen this year lol

I kind of want an invasion of Hogwarts, I know I’ve been trying not to just blindly follow the books completely :/ So I guess we’ll see?

I’ll have to work on that

I’m such a sucker for the villain waits until the end of the school year to attack

Because it’s so dumb

Like I will find the avatar! *shakes fist* But education is important, kids

Maybe I can have Roku finally escape that mirror

I kind of want the past avatars to be spirits that anyone can interact with

So the Kyoshi can interact with Avatar Kyoshi as well as other relevant spirits

????

The plot?? Who knows yet

I do know that Zuko’s graduated

And they’re all crying and like wtf do we do now

Because Sozin’s still around and they’ll miss him

And finally Zuko leaves

And he shows up as the assistant DADA professor and he’s like “Hi, Zuko here” and then he’s like “I mean, fuck, Professor Zuko, I mean, fuck...just call me Zuko. You guys all know me”

And the gaang is all like wtf Zuko, we thought we would only see you for breaks

And he’s like you really thought I’d leave you

The plan is that he’ll be an apprentice for a year or so and then take over as professor

Toph punches him so hard, Katara has to heal the bruise

I can guarantee a happy ending

I’ll do whatever angst on the way, but they’ll all be happy

I’m like 89% sure they’re all going to end up working at or around Hogwarts (why work for the government, when you can invest in teaching all these talented kids)

One more thing, there is going to be rep in this au. I know there’s at least one aro ace character. Multiple bi characters. One gay character. One pan character. One trans character that I know of, but I need to plan that out a bit more. Some of these orientations and identities, I can’t speak to personally. For instance, while I know a decent amount about the medical aspects of transitioning, I don’t think I’d be able to write the experience of gender dysphoria and give that its due right now. So unless it’s something I have first hand experience with, most of the individual emotions as part of figuring things out might happen off screen. That doesn’t mean I won’t bring up issues the characters may have had in the past, but any that I talk about, I’d have to do more research into first. Also, partly because this is mostly from Sokka and Zuko’s perspectives, we’re mostly going to be present for what other characters tell them about their experiences

Why I chose my url: This is kind of a convoluted thing, but like, the easy version is that it’s the name of my trooper on the leviathan server (now called Aea out of the game bc they were supposed to be my self-insert but then they escaped into the woods and developed a storyline for themself).  The LONG thing is that I have an oc named Regia Elaphae, who I modeled after pnigophobia, the fear of choking or being smothered, and I made her snake-themed.  Rex is the latin word for king--for king snakes--which i swapped to regina and then took out the n bc ‘Regina’ didn’t fit her, and Elaphe is the genus for rat snakes, but i found two ways of spelling it so i spelled it Elaphae, and when I got into swtor I decided to use Elaphae in reference to myself.  I replaced my old url with this one after i started playing that trooper of the same name, bc my old one was :I .  I was into hetalia in middle school, and homestuck, and when I got on tumblr that followed me into my url.  I’m not into hetalia anymore, or anime at all, and homestuck fell off my radar into the ‘i’ll go “hey i know that” if i see it, but i’m not in the fandom anymore’ pile.  For the longest time my blog description was ‘it’s been 5 years and i still haven’t changed my url’, but it was time for change fjdklasfaj.  It’s better this way.

APPEARANCE/PHYSICAL TRAITS

Height: 6’2”

Body type/build: He’s thin, lanky, and muscular. Think Julian but a little bit more toned muscle, less dorito and more hourglass and instead of a pancake butt, he thicc

Skin: He’s white, but not pale. He has no special birthmarks/scars or beauty marks. Just a gangly white boy who’s become a little bronzed from living in sunny Vesuvia.

Hair: He has light golden blonde hair (lighter than Lucio’s by quite a bit, but not platinum). On one side of his head his hair swoops over like Julian’s, but the other side is shaven save for 3 braids that run around to the back of his neck. (My friend @fantasmagorias drew Atlas perfectly, including his complex hairdo. It was like he literally jumped from my brain to hers. I’ll attach that at the bottom of this post!)

Eyes: He has bright white eyes. I strongly agree with the theory I heard that each character in the Arcana’s eyes match their patron Arcana. Atlas’ is the fool, so he has white eyes like Scout!

Distinguishing features: He has very defined cheekbones, a sharp jawline and what I can best describe as curious brows. He’s definitely got a fun, mischievous look to him. Even when his face is in its resting state, he looks like he’s smirking and always has an adventurous glint in his eyes. When he smiles you can’t help but smile too, as his smile is very bright and nearly always genuine.

Clothing: Atlas makes most of his own clothes, and if he isn’t wearing something handmade, he’s wearing something Asra or Nadia got him. He’s always dressed very funky and in bright colours, like orange, blue, purple, and green. 

Default outfit -  Tits out Vesuvia! He wears a loose white tunic with brassy buttons that clasp at the waist, leaving most of his chest exposed, and a blue and purple paisley patterned scarf that no one has seem him leave the shop without. Over his top, her wears a sleeveless cardigan that drapes just below his booty that is a deep, bright royal purple with bright orange and gold embroidery. He wears high waisted pants that were originally white, but are now a light tan/beige, decorated with darker beige markings and small white beads. Around his lower waist his shirt is kept shut (so that only his tiddies are showing and not his entire front because wow what a sin that would be) by a light green sash that was “artiscally” stained with light orange and blue markings. He wears tall tattered light brown boots with tassels/fringe on them.

Travelling outfit - He romances Muriel, so his travelling outfit includes a thick cloak that was gifted to him from Nadia and a colourful blue and purple paisley patterned scarf Asra gifted him. (The cloak looks exactly like Muriel’s except the fur is bright white and rather than being lined green it is lined the same colour of blue as his scarf). He wears the same silly, tattered brown boots he always does.

Masquerade outfit - Atlas wears a wolf mask at the masquerade (this plays both into the fact that Muriel’s familiar is a wolf and the fact that the fool is most commonly represented by/with a dog). His mask is white and glittery, adorned with pearls from the waters of Prakra. He wears a long, multi-layered, flowy, deep blue skirt with gems decorating the silky inner fabric of the skirt. It looks like the night sky when light reflects off of it and moves like calm water. His top is a loose white silk that covers his back and abdomen and tucks seamlessly into his skirt and is belted with a gold sash. His arms, shoulders and neck are adorned in gold, a pattern similar to that of Asra’s masquerade outfit’s gold accents, except the gold pattern travels all the way from his shoulders to his wrists, where it is clasped in place by thick gold wristicuffs that each have a single large pearl in the center. He wears a thick gold choker around his neck that looks exactly like the wrist cuffs except neck-sized (lol). When he attends the masquerade he has his makeup done by Natiqa, who opted for a simple look with dramatic gold eyeliner and some highlight. 

PERSONALITY/INTERESTS

Personality: Atlas is very straightforward and not afraid to speak his mind, he is constantly making silly quips and jokes; he loves making others laugh. He has what I call a “hero complex”; essentially he loves protecting and saving people. Anyone he can’t save he blames himself for. He blames himself for both Morga and Khamgalai’s death, but because of his positive attitude and his habit of pushing anything negative deep down inside him and his need to not let anyone around him feel down, he doesn’t tell anyone. 

He romances Muriel, and in his route he’s very loud and obnoxious. Muriel hated him at first, but slowly, because of Atlas’ high energy and positivity, Muriel came out of his shell quite a bit and grew to love Atlas.

But, Atlas is not always loud and high energy. He gets lost in his thoughts often and becomes quite serious, especially after being in a tough or scary situation, even though when he was in the situation, he was making jokes and laughing through his stress. (He very much so relieves his anxieties through comedy).

He very rarely gets angry, but when he does it’s terrifying. He becomes a raging inferno that nothing and no one can stop from raging on. This is because he pushes his self-hatred so far down that he’s an emotional bomb just waiting to go off.

TRIVIA

I keep my ocs as canon as I possibly can, that’s why Atlas has no last name. He has no idea who his family is or where he’s from. The only thing he does know about his past is that he died of the plague and that he had a mysterious aunt who he’s pretty sure has died. Pretty much, anything Asra doesn’t know, Atlas doesn’t.

As far as bonus (lemon) 😏😏 material, Atlas is a vers switch. When he’s subbing he loves being tied up and edged to the point of tears leaking from his eyes. Like Asra, he very much so enjoys delayed gratification during sex. When he’s topping, he’s a soft domme and consistently checks to make sure his partner is doing okay. But he is not gentle. He likes to hear his partner scream, being vocal turns him on *so much.*

HOW STRICTLY DO YOU FOLLOW CANON?

Putting it bluntly: Functionist alt. dimension Rung has a whole lot of plot holes. Swiss cheese boy. I’ve made liberal changes here and there so that he can play with a majority of muses in the MTMTE/LL community, but I’ve also taken a lot of free reign giving Rung’s general lack of backstory in-between spoiler/plot beats :P

Rung is a very rare type of character, being an ostensibly ‘masculine’ character (in regards of a human binary lens) who prides himself on empathy, understanding, and caring for others’ physical and mental wellbeing in ways that often linger in more ‘feminine’ realms (again, in approx. to the human binary); it interests me to be able to explore such concepts in a territory where, considering lore and implied history, there’s no societal concept of (human ideal culturally-imposed) gender. He’s a creator ‘deity’, he literally produces souls, but nothing about his design is meant to emphasize a human sense of reproduction/fertility/etc. Most people would never look at him and conclude who and what he is. There’s also the fact that he’s been methodically documented, experimented on, taken apart, and then tortured for approx. 2 million years and yet he refused to let that break him. Rung is unflinchingly kind, willing to reach a hand out to anyone who needs a shoulder to lean on even when he has nothing of his own to offer. Hell, he studied medicine and philosophy so he could build the foundations for the Cybertronian method of behavioral psychology because even without memories of being Primus, Rung wants to take care of his creations. ...And then you add in how absolutely adorable it is to watch this old man dodder about with his puzzles and models and big googly glasses and I love him so much okay--

To be honest, Rung can be kind of a Mary Sue/over powered character in some people’s eyes. Like, what, this random character who’s new to the franchise and made specifically by the author is actually Transformers God who suffered amnesia? And is friendly and polite to everyone but also has a streak of keeping a grudge and survives literal untold horrors because his body can just heal itself?? And he spits out crystals that make up sparks??? OH AND HE’S MILLIONS OF YEARS OLD AND DID I MENTION HE’S GOD SOMEHOW AND THEN HE STRAIGHT UP JUST DIES TWICE IN CANON, WOW

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO RP YOUR MUSE?

H,,,, Him round,,,,,,,, No really I just loved his design that much. Him round. Also both my mom and my granddad are shrinks so I have, like, a basic grasp on psych stuff after reading through their textbooks and watching my granddad’s old research films and study tapes, so it was familiar territory I settled on writing Functionist!Rung in specific because I sympathize with having weird + painful medical shit inflicted on you all the time and because the idea of someone so genuine and careful being the core of a revolutionary movement is really,,, makes my heart squeeze.

- the waters have mostly been dominated by mermaids, hence why the ocean deities are female, too. mermen are rare but slowly becoming more common so maybe one day, she'll have a male heir

- literally the ocean, or part of it. 100% saltwater

- can walk on land but only on beaches cuz she has to stay connected to the ocean. if you wanna get her deeper in-land, you gotta carry her in a big fish tank i guess lol
