YES YES MORE ABOUT RIKI ADOPTING SHULK.

You have no idea how much I lost it at the heart to heart. I think about it all the time. Riki adopted Shulk and he isnt even the first orphan for Riki to adopt. In Future Connected, we find out that Kino is an orphan that Riki adopted. Riki is just the goat like that. He sees an orphan and goes "is anyone gonna adopt them" and then doesn't hesitate.

Kino and Nene should have called Shulk brotherpon in Future Connected and in my heart they did. Riki is Shulk's dad and I will not hear otherwise.

I need to yap about my favorite character ever, aka, riki from xenoblade chronicles 1

He is introduced as a comic relief character, like he is a fluffy cute thing as u can see above, and yet he is canonically 40 years old, has a wife and 12 children lmao

(Also, he is a nopon, a race of cute fluffy + feathery creatures, that talk by adding "-pon" to words)

Anyway, he is given the title "legendary heropon" of his race/people and is forced to join the protag's party cause his people are fed up with him thanks to his crippling debts lmao so they send him away and if he comes back his debts will be payed (he is sent with the idea that he won't come back btw lol)

Here he is talking to his wife and her reprimanding him cause of his debts lmao

ANYWAY the important thing here, is that throughout the game, riki gets closer to shulk, the game's main character, and if u get their affinity up shulk tells him he is an orphan and that he is sad that when he comes back from the adventure, no one will be there waiting for him

And this goat, the best character in the entire game, says THIS

And shulk AGREES, so he is canonically adopted by THIS CUTE THING and the idea of SHULK, being part of a family of cute fluffy creatures, with fluffy parents and 12 fluffy siblings always take me out and is my favorite thing in any JRPG ever

THAT IS HIS DAD!!!!!

Also in xenoblade chronicles 3, shulk has a kid, named nikol, and LOOK AT NIKOL'S DESIGN + HIS WEAPON OF CHOICE

Those are MECHANICAL NOPON WINGS, THE SAME COLOR AND DESIGN AS RIKI'S....THAT IS HIS CANON GRANDPA PEOPLE!

Anyway I am INSANE over the shulk + riki family and I just wanted to yap about it, have this drawing I've done of them
