I think the most entertaining thing about my mom reading tgcf is that throughout the book she's been giving me her thoughts, and, especially during the plague and fall of Xianle, she sounds so much like the nameless people who judge Xie Lian for his actions. Granted, she's nicer about it, but it's still interesting.

In looking at Xie Lians actions during that time, I think she forgot that Xie Lian was a child when he was forced to pick between watching them suffer or attempting to help and save his people. Then I saw her comparing it to Hua Chengs maturity when he was little, and it so goddamn interesting. She compared Xie Lian immaturity at a young age to Hua Chengs maturity at a young age, and judged Xie Lian for it, because as a crown prince she had the expectation that he would and should be mature too. I feel like she forgot that he was 17, he was supposed to be immature and young and stupid, he was a well loved child with a good upbringing. He was a child and was allowed to act like one. In short, I find it very interesting that I saw everything MXTX put in there about a society that disapproves of children being children and really act their age, and am watching my mom fall into that very pattern. It's so interesting and I can't wait till she gets to read about the last bit of Xie Lians past cause I might dump this all on her when we do our little deepdive discussion about it lmao I'll update yall on the aftermath.

i havent regularly watched movies for a while, i had completely forgotten how just. fun dreamworks is, theres puns and jokes happening all the time and its just. delightful and nice and often stupid but still funny, i loved it a lot, and needed it after. A Day.

there were so many stories happening but all of them got resolved and it was great and adorable and i teared up multiple times, like w realizing the bears and goldie Were the family they were looking for, and that Perrito had what he wanted the whole time, and how kitty and puss ended up getting it too... also dreamworks always suprises me with the epic action scenes like...

speaking of that. yes ofc i saw the death wolf everywhere and was a little interested bc of that and hell yes he's hot and scary and cool i loved his inclusion

most of all i LOVED all the fairy tale references! like obviously there were gonna be a lot but whenever i recognized something it made me soooooo happy like you wouldnt believe, i grew up with fairytales and myths and stories (like most of us obvs) and i fell in love with all my books and. its just so nice to get the little references and tropes that have come from them :D

the first 20 minutes were so wild, idk why i guess ive watched too many slower movies or series so the immediate action and "end" and change was just WHUH WHAT IS HAPPENING EVERYTHING IS HAPPENING DAMN I LOVE IT but what i noticed immediately of course was the ANIMATION and MUSIC DESIGN like DAAAAAAAAAAMN!!! absolutely gorgeous and stylized in the cool way and sound cues and music giving SO much to every scene and. aaaahhhhhhhh art of film... i get why people do this shit its awesome

the place i watched from had subtitles(which i kinda need at this point, audio processing troubles grr) but literally every SINGLE spanish word they transcribed as [speaking spanish] like. I KNOW SHE SAID SI EVEN I KNOW THAT, which wasnt like too bad, most of the words used i could understand from context and just. them being used often in other english media w spanish in it, but Boi. i need to find if someone has compiled the language used to see if i missed anything i didnt recognize as Symbolic or Significant... ik there was smth when death left the OVAL/CATEYE OF FIREEEE like la muertos/muerte which means death ik but idk if there was smth else there i missed in the sentence construction/meaning bc i didnt quite hear it/understand it

Sam hasn’t really been the center of the trauma lately, its been more Dean centric, the Mark, Michael, Mary dying, Cas dying. Its so overwhelmingly understandable that he would snap like this.

See this is why I think it was just a manipulation. Amara had fallen for humanity too. and Humanity, i guess. Chuck had to break this infatuation and break Amaras heart to absorb her. Or she never would have gone. Did you see her in that opening scene? She’s thriving on Earth.

Okay cool so here we are, a new version of how 14 ended. Very intriguing. Another “Game over” from chuck where he pitches a tantrum. Really I would love to do  comparison of that monologue of chucks and the one from moriah. I’m sure there is some overlap. 

Okay SOOOOOO this took like. 3 and a half hours of my night to watch this one single eisode. I’ve had a lot of thoughts and feelings about it since I watched it the other night, and I’ve just been marinating oneveryone’s metas that i’ve been reading. Basically, I’m going to literally die on Thursday night when I watch the episode, I’m fully not prepared, so we’ll see how this goes. Come talk to me about this if you want. I MADE COOKIES

HI THESE ARE MY QUARANTINE COOKIES

Imma tell yall how to make them. It’s super easy and they are soooooo good. I get compliments all the time on them. It’s an old recipe that is really my go to. I can crank the dough out in about the time it takes for me to listen to the full the Amazing Devil album The Horror and The Wild. Which also is great dance-around-the-kitchen music. So keep that in mind. Recipe under the cut for anyone who wants some. 

ok so... you wanna start off by grabbing two sticks of salted butter. Leave those in the window sill, you want them nice and soft for your dough. If you don’t have salted, you can use unsalted, then just add a bit of salt later on.

Then you gotta get 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt (table salt if you will) (if you use unsalted butter then put a 1/2 tsp) and a 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon. And mix all that shit together with a whisk... or a fork... or a spoon.... or your hands if you really want (for all you kinetic people it feels really cool. Just make sure you wash your hands and that they are super dry before you stick them in) in a medium bowl. This is not your final bowl! You will not make your dough in this bowl so don’t worry too much about the size. Just set that all to the side while we get out wet ingredients together. Hum along to Marbles as you work. Or whatever your whisking song is. 

Then your gonna get your wet ingredients together. Altho idk why I call it wet. It’s butter and sugar. Sugar is dry. Oh well. So you might wanna heat up your butter a bit. Put it in a bowl first. I do it in one minute increments on power level 3 in the microwave. You want it to be super soft. If you end up melting the whole thing that’s totally ok don’t freak out. but try to aim for super soft/melted on the edges.

Pick your Final Bowl and put 1 cup of light brown or dark brown sugar. Doesn’t matter what kind. Dark Brown will be more mapley. So one cup of that and 3/4 cup regular white sugar. Put the sugar in the Final Bowl then the 2 sticks of butter on top. Lick your fingers after you touch the butter. Then wash your hands. Get a blender of some sort. you can use one of those fancy mixers if you want. I use a hand blender thingy. Do a little spinny twirl thing. You look cute. You’re doing great babe. One of the ones with two beaters on the end. You’re gonna wanna blend the two together until they’re mixed very well. Get two large eggs. Chef time. So try and find the coolest way to crack those eggs. I like to smack the egg on the counter until it bleeds. you can also smack it on the edge of the bowl, stab it with a knife or spank it with a spoon. Anything works really. Add one egg and beat it in. Add the other. Don’t do two at once. Idk what would happen but my mom told me that was a Big No. I’m too scared to find out. So one at a time. Then add 2 tsp of vanilla extract. Mix that in until just incorporated. 

Now comes the tricky part. You gotta add your dry stuff to your Final Bowl of wet stuff. I do half at a time. So pour half your flour mixture then kinda fold/hand stir it into your wet. You wanna do that so you don’t create a flour mushroom cloud in your kitchen and get flour on every surface... not that I’ve done that. so beat that in until it’s mostly mixed. 

Sing about wolves and bleating and bearing claws and ripping ribcages open to devour what’s truly yours... which are gonna be these cookies. They gonna be so good. 

Do the other half of your flour, dont forget to fold it in first. Once that’s all done you’re gonna wanna get 1 1/4 cup old fashioned oats. You can see in the pick the kind i get. I like to get the quick oats (not pictured, i didnt have any) If you dont have any quick oats you can grind some up barely in a coffee grinder. You can also just use whole oats. Whatever tickles your fancy. So you wanna add those in and 2 cups of chocolate chips. Milk or Dark. I prefer dark. Eat a few of the chocolate chips. You’ve earned it babe. So mix those in. I use a spoon cuz my beaters kinda weak. NOW YOUR DONE WITH YOUR DOUGH. TASTE TEST. FUCK EGG POISONING OR WHATEVER TAKE A BIG OL SPOONFUL AND EAT IT ALL. ITS SO GOOD. FUCK YEA BABE YOU DID IT. SO PROUD OF YOU.

Now preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Convection bake. Get two cookie sheets. Line them with parchment paper. NOT WAX PAPER THAT IS DIFFERENT. Then, depending on the size of the cookie sheet, make balls of dough and distribute them on the sheet. Leave abt 2 inches between each ball. But it really depends on the size of the dough balls. If you want big ass cookies make big ass balls and spread them farther apart. I recommend getting a spoon (like a tea spoon. but not a teaspoon. just a regular ol spoon) and scoop that dough out into slightly smaller than ping pong ball size. Line em up on the sheet like sheep for slaughter and wave to them as they go into the oven. Only put in one sheet at a time, you want an assembly like thing going. 

 Set a timer for about 10-15 minutes. This really depends on the kind of stove you have so make sure and watch your first batch carefully. while you’re waiting, replay your favorite Amazing Devil song and line a portion of your counter in parchment paper. You wanna take them out when they start to brown on the edges. It’s ok if they still look gooey in the middle that means they’re delish. replace with the other sheet of cookies and set your timer for however long it took. Set the whole cooked tray on a cooling rack and grab the salt. You wanna do this part while the cookies are still hot so the salt sticks. Sprinkle just a bit more on top of all your cookie. Salt to taste. You don’t have to salt if you don’t wanna. It’s up to you.

Let the cookies cool and they will continue baking a bit on the pan. Once they cool enough, remove them from the pan and place on parchment paper. Line empty tray with new balls and await for timer to go off. Worship our Fae King and Queen with a celebratory cookie dance. Try one of the cookies. They’re really good. Swap out the trays when they’re done and keep going until you’re finished! YOU HAVE NOW MAKE QUARANTINE COOKIES. ENJOY AND EAT THEM ALL RN. GO. RN.

Or if its a common word or a word/title I’ve used before I put it into One Look Reverse Dictionary and find a similar word that means the sameish thing. I don’t dwell on titles too much tbh. 

Completed: Last I counted, I had over 500 short stories under my belt. You can read them all on my blog but not everything was put into my masterlist. This was just due to the tumblr purge we had and I had to make a new masterlist since a lot of my fics got shadowbanned due to the tagging system back then. I didnt wanna repost them all lol

Incomplete: I have an entire spreadsheet that I plop all my ideas on... and it is FULL. I organize it by fandom, suitor, and fluff vs. smut. Ummmmmm.... See below: Coming soon lol. 

Do You Outline? I usually start writing when I have an idea and if I need to step away from my computer I will do a quick outline. AKA just some quick bullet points of what I was thinking would happen next lol. If I ever take the time to properly do a full outline, I 100% go off the rails and do my own thing away from the outline. I am what is called a ‘discovery writer’ lol. I discoverer my own story as i write it then go back and edit it and act like I knew what I was doing all along lmfao.

Coming Soon/Not Yet Started: I have 3 substantial WIPS (like 2-3k words) I bounce between that I’m working on. Victor x Mc, Vincent x MC and Faust x MC.

Do You Accept Prompts? I used to every once in a while but I have so many WIPS and no personal computer at home rn. (SOON THOUGH!) So I don’t have the chance to write as much in my free time as I used to. I’ll take prompts but I let them sit in my ask box until I am able to write them <3. I am not the person to ask people to stop sending them, cuz I like to see what yall want me to write and take that into consideration for sure. I like taking asks for Thirsty Thursday (even if its not thurs, I will hold onto them until then) and answer them 😍 I love those because more people are involved other than me and I like being a part of something bigger than myself 🤗

What do you use to edit?: I pay for Grammarly (its AMAZING even the free version is super worth it) 

For word meanings, synonyms, and better wording I use OneLook Reverse Dictionary ALL THE TIME for every single fic. (and like I said before, to help with titles)

When I feel like something is off and grammarly doesn’t quite know and I don’t know, I put the fic through Hemmingway Editor. It tells you HOW readable a sentence is. If its hard to read I rewrite it and make things a bit simpler for the eyes. Its free in the browser. 

Writing setup: Ideally, the sun is coming in through the window, It’s cool inside, I’m wearing a fuzzy sweater, I have hot coffee or tea, and my head phones are in. 

I listen to lofi music station on youtube but If its distracting I put on lofi without lyrics. I love THIS playlist. (this is live so it’ll prob break but here’s an alt link to their offline playlist) If I am in an upbeat mood I like “Electropose” music. Or I listen to the ‘setting’ a fic is in. Like if its raining in the story, I put on rain ambiance and things like that. 

Do you use a beta reader? No 😬, not really. Anytime I have someone beta read and they comment on the content and not the editing I get way too nervous to post the fic and suddenly it get sick to my stomach laskjdlsdj. I trust a couple gals to beta read in an editing mind set but I don’t bother them all the time. I like to go balls to the walls and trust grammarly, post the damn thing, and bite my nails hoping for the best. 

Where do you get your writing inspo?: Bruh, #1 READING! Reading books, reading fics, reading summaries for things. Also, reading the routes in otomes, watching anime, and letting my mind wonder lol. I also like to chat with people on discord and let the stories unfold. Inspo has also come from a lot of my dreams tbh. My dreams are hella vivid and I try to write them down when I wake up if they are interesting lol.
