Cryogenic dewar flasks are typically constructed with a double-walled design, with a vacuum-sealedspace between the inner and outer walls. This vacuum acts as a thermal barrier, preventing heat fromentering the flask and maintaining the low temperature inside. The inner wall is usually made of stainlesssteel or other materials with high thermal conductivity, while the outer wall provides structural supportand additional insulation. The space between the fences is often evacuated to further reduce heattransfer through conduction and convection. Additionally, some dewar flasks incorporate reflectivecoatings on the inner surface to minimize radiant heat transfer. The YDS liquid nitrogen cylinder is used in various industries such as biotechnology, healthcare, and research. It contains liquid nitrogen, which is a commonly used cryogenic fluid. Its main purpose is to store and transport biological samples, cells, tissues, and other materials at ultra-low temperatures to ensure their long-term preservation and quality during storage and transportation.

Spent most of the afternoon making a crop top! And I did the geometry to figure out the most efficient fabric cutting layout and I can definitely squeeze 3 crop tops of different styles out of these 2 yards of fabric! Here's crop top #1! Crop tops #2 and #3 will have to wait until the next time I have Sewing Energy again which may be tomorrow or may be next month. We'll see. Here's a crappy bedroom mirror photo!
Tumblr media
I used this video as a tutorial but I didn't follow it exactly. Crop top #2 will be the plain tank crop top from the video and crop top #3 will be another test run of my wrap top tutorial before I post that.
I was wearing a cotton/polyester/spandex blend backless halter crop top before I put this one on and this is some 55% linen 45% cotton fabric I got for $9/yd. I am so much cooler in this top even tho I'm only showing a little more skin. Linen my beloved. Also, I'd say $18 plus shipping isn't bad for three summer shirts! That's like $8 a shirt. For better quality craftsmanship (as long as you don't look at my backstitching...) and nicer fabric than whatever you could buy from shein or a mall store for $8.
I complained to my mom the ENTIRE time I was sewing cuz I find geometry so difficult and sewing so tedious. I like having clothes made exactly how I want them but gods at what cost

French 25mm APX anti-tank gun. Produced in both mle 1934 and 1937 versions, this one being a 1937 model. The mle 1937 was intended to be used by infantry units and towed by horses. However both had models poor armor piercing performance of only 40 mm (1.6 in) at 400 m (440 yd) and while easy to use, were too lightly constructed to be durable. Does have a neat muzzle brake though. At the US Army Armor and Cavalry Collection.

finally took some nice pics of this tank top I knit! (ft a pair of shorts I made too) I made the pattern myself and I’m super proud of it 😊 (previous post here)
Yarn: Lion Brand linen cotton bamboo in cherry blossom (I LOVE the way this yarn feels against my skin, it’ll be so nice for summer. I actually bought a bunch more in other colors bc it was on clearance the other day, I hope it’s not gone forever.) (about 550 yds)
Pattern: I made this in the most obnoxious way possible because I wanted to use up as much yarn as I could and didn't know how long to make it. So I needed to knit the body top down. But I needed to knit the shoulders bottom up in order to get the shaping right on the neckline.
So I did a provisional cast on for the front and worked that flat up and over to the back. The plan was to keep working flat until the armhole and then connect with the front and work down. But I couldn't get the increases on the back to match the decreases on the front. So I had to do another provisional cast on and knit a second section (the back) flat from the armhole to where the first section ended and graft the two together. AND THEN pick up the provisional cast ons and join to work in the round until it was long enough. 10/10 would not recommend.
also I didn't have circulars in the right size so I made this on six to seven dpns (size 4)
The increases for my hips are KRL and KLL (lifted increases) so they're pretty invisible. The dropped stitch was a single stitch and there's a twisted stitch to each side of it. I didn't bother blocking this one although I guess I could have. I like the way the lace looks as is. I suppose it's not the most flattering length on me and the diagonal ribbing at the bottom flared out so much bc I forgot to decrease before it and then didn't want to redo it...
I haven't decided if I want to post the actual pattern notes / sell it because it was drafted for someone with a flat chest (bc I have a flat chest and it's for me lol) and it would involve redoing a lot of the math for different chest sizes.

[Patient Report: OP-7845-91653]
[Authorization Requirement: Alpha]
[Document Status: Sensitive - 99% preserved]
[Listed Authorized Individuals: Primal Steward Ratchet]
[Overseeing Medical Personnel: - Primary Physician: CMO Ratchet - Secondary Assistant: First Aid]
[Session: #001]
═════════════════
I was called to perform an emergency checkup on patient OP-7845-91653 roughly half a groon after mid cycle. The call was sent by the patient's Conjunx [Note: Conjunx status still not legalized] and I arrived within the following twenty Kliks.
Upon arrival the patient's Conjunx was rather hostile but escorted me into the residence [Note: Residence unregistered - cannot be listed]. Signs of an intense and frantic struggle were evident within the hab in large part due to the damaged furnishings and the various claw marks on the walls. Initial observations led me to consider extreme paranoia and schizophrenia as possible mental ailments.
The patient was in a catatonic state upon my arrival. He was practically feral and curled up in a ball in the center of the living room. He remained unresponsive until I attempted to begin repairing the wounds he inflicted on himself in his madness. Possibly due to the tools or my presence, he flew into a rage the moment I attempted to work on his injuries. The patient needed to be pinned by his Conjunx and sedated by me in order for any sort of progress to be made.
At that point I tended to what wounds I could and then spoke at length with the patient's Conjunx about what symptoms he presents on a regular basis. According to what information I was given, patient OP-7845-91653 will be a long term care project. He suffers from extreme paranoia, minor schizophrenia, partial bipolar disorder, extreme PTSD and trauma, stimuli sensitivity, dissociation, and field management disorder of the third degree. The source of these issues has so far proven to be because of [Subject: Optimus Prime - See file for affiliation description].
For the time being, the patient will need to be put onto strong medication to dull his severe responses to external stimuli. My current prescription is sedatives [Chemical composition YD-7869], sensory blockers [Patch type SUO-3602], and therapeutic exercises [Sensory Adjustment Therapy - Type 90897]. My assistant will deliver the prescription medication within the next cycle and report on any changes in the meantime. The patient's next checkup will be in a stellar cycle and will continue to have similar checkups regularly until confirmed to be more stable.
[Personal Note: I never thought I would live to see the day when the face I knew so well could be contorted in such fear. Optimus never showed such expressions, he was always stoic and controlled in every action and word. Orion though? Whatever happened to him while he was sharing a frame with Optimus... it damaged him so deeply that I fear he may not recover.
He is... terrifying to say the least. The friend I knew before the war seems all but gone now. It is my hope that with time I can fix this... that I can ensure what little remains of Optimus is kept safe and preserved. I know this is not the correct way to think of my friend, but how can I not? He looks so much like Optimus it makes my tanks churn.
I may not be the best Doctor for this case. I cannot remain impartial like this. However at the moment I am quite possibly the only Doctor on Cybertron who can handle a situation this severe. So for the time being... I will endure and do what I can. Its what Optimus would have wanted, and it is what I owe my old friend after everything, even if his Conjunx is a mech I would rather see shredded bit by bit publicly.]
═════════════════
[Assistant First Aid's Report:
Medication was delivered without issue! Mr. Pax's Conjunx was a bit scary, but thankfully he took the package and didn't do anything else. I wasn't able to get a good look at the situation so far, but maybe next time I deliver a package I can check up on Mr. Pax properly.]

Only in Qud
Was browsing a Caves of Qud thread on [Different Hellsite] and came across this masterpiece of a short paragraph:
"If you can get to the Yd Freehold, their medical area has a regeneration tank pre-filled with cloning draught and ready to regenerate you. Recently however convalessence has been buggy and blowing things up so it might self destruct depending on the version number you're playing. Good luck."
You know
Blowing things up due to a bug
And not the normal sort of reason
Which is that the smoldering pile of cinders in question did something along the lines of insulting someone's pet potted plant's mother's nephew's brother's father's former roommate

me: *watching The Good Life* There is no way the Goods could possibly afford 150 cubic yds of concrete after the neighbor’s oil tank leaked onto their property, I imagine they would get some financial compensation from the government as it is toxic waste (presumably), and the clean-up job would take a team of people.

been thinking about a moment in Caves of Qud where I got both of my arms ripped off (and my face) but lived, and only managed to regenerate one arm with the regeneration tank in Yd Freehold. I didn't really think of it using the word disabled or disability aid or anything at the time, but I did slap on a pair of helping hands to let me hold my freeze ray. very cool when a game has both systems that allow for disability and (somewhat) realistic solutions besides just curing it, because while that is an option in Qud, it's not always available.
