I know it’s not a question but i can’t help but appreciate the fact that you draw adult Steven as a chubby guy! We big boys need some positive representation in here. Also, i’ve been following you for almost a year now!

It took me quite some time to learn how to draw chubby characters but it's so satisfying to have eventually. ( *`u*) (I mean, there's still so much to learn, but still.)

Having a chubby main protagonist is so wonderful to have. And a good kid at that. (Ngl I'm attracted to kindness. haha So of course it's very important to me that he's fat AND kind.)

Also design-wise, I personally think it fits his character so well. Soft and huggable, shaped like a friend. Thick arms to hug people with snuggly. Body wide like a shield. etc. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And I just really like to capture these elements when I draw him as an adult. Also that it's just fun to draw.

Simply personal thoughts about it, nothing against any other ways he's being portrayed by others of course.

Zoo Earrings Could Be The Key to Saving Steven and Lars?

YO HANG ON WAIT A SECOND

I was just minding my own business doodling fan art for Stuck together because it’s killing me and it hit me. 

Over the head. 

With a brick.

When Steven left the human zoo, he and Greg still had the same earrings that all the Zoomans had. The camera hovered on them when he took them out of his ears in Storm in The Room, just like it does with other important things that become plot elements later. What have they been shown to do? 

Communicate to the Zoomans.

There’s no way Lars and Steven are going to be kept together throughout the Homeworld Arc. Lars is a human and Steven is a criminal; they’re going to put Lars in the zoo and take Steven who knows where. This is why I think there’s an episode calls Lars’ Head--Steven’s gonna body-swap with him so he can wander around the zoo for a bit and figure out how things are going because he’s Steven and worries about stuff like that. First, I think he’ll share dreams with Lars like he did with Kiki, and then Lars will tell him something interesting...

That’s where the earrings come in. If Lars is at the zoo, he’s gonna get those earrings all the Zoomans have (pray tell how they’re gonna stay in his ears with those gauges tho).

What if Peridot and Pearl figure out how to hack Steven’s pair so that they can communicate with the humans at the zoo? Those earrings are shown to know who they’re talking to, what that human is doing, etc; Peridot and Pearl definitely have enough know-how between them to figure out how to send a signal to a specific pair of earrings at the zoo.

And how would they get the signal to the zoo when it’s 70 years away? The communication hub. Pearl and Peridot have rebuilt it several times between them. They can definitely do it again. If that boosts a signal enough for messages to potentially be heard from Homeworld (because otherwise why would Peridot have bothered?), then it can definitely be heard from the Zoo.

Anyway, Lars will tell Steven in a dream that his earrings have been asking about him, and Steven will be like, “They hacked the earrings?!” But because if this episode is Lars’ Head, it’s after The Trial, and that means he’s probably been sentenced to something horrible, and he can’t see a way out, so he wants to spare them the pain of knowing what’s going to happen to him. He’ll tell Lars to tell them he loves them and that he’s done his best to save them, that they shouldn’t focus on him but Lars, since they can’t save him. And Lars will go, in his typical tsundere way, “Dang it, Steven tell them yourself!”

Steven: What are you talking about?

Lars: Ugh, you’ve taken over my body before; what’s one more time? At least say goodbye, if that’s what you’re worried about; I didn’t get to say goodbye to Sadie, so you’d better do it now.

And Steven will hesitate but Lars will insist, and Steven will do it and talk to Pearl and the others for a little bit. They’ll insist on saving him, but Steven will tell them they should focus on Lars and not him, and Lapis will freak the f out on him and he’ll say “Just let me do this for you!” and she and Connie and Pearl will all have a moment to tell him about sacrifice and how it’s wrong, since they would’ve both finally begun to understand how Rose and Steven felt when they said that to him, and hey, maybe we’ll get some more lore on Pearl because she clearly has a deeper connection with Homeworld than she wants to let on, so maybe she’ll manage to delay his ‘execution’ by some miracle.

Anyway, this will culminate in the Crystal Gems insisting on helping him and finally convincing Steven to tell them what the verdict was, and there’ll be gasps of horror and such, but that’ll just make them work harder to get him out of there. Feels and such, and Steven promises he’ll fight and come home, and gives control back to Lars (or maybe the conversation will get derailed beforehand, since it takes Steven waking up to knock him out of his body-possession).

Okay so a lot of dialogue and such is a headcanon and personal plot theory, but the earrings thing stands. They’ve been shown to be aware of what their wearer is doing, and that logically extends to what the wearer is saying, too. The Crewniverse wouldn’t’ve shown Steven deliberately taking them out and putting them on a washcloth or wherever if they weren’t important, and there’s been speculation about them being a plot point since Storm in The Room.

So, in summary:

Peridot and Pearl will figure out how to hack Steven’s Zoo-Earings in order to communicate with Lars at Pink Diamond’s Human Zoo by way of the signal-boosting Communication Hub, and Lars’ Head will involve Steven temporarily taking over Lars’ body in order to speak with the Crystal Gems through said earrings about what’s taken place since he left--including whatever sentence he’s been given regarding Rose Quartz’s crimes.
