Why do people go on a show’s Reddit sub and get annoyed that there are people there who don’t like their ship?

1. You’re on Reddit. What did you expect?

2. You’re on a sub to discuss the show as a whole. It’s not called /r/yourOTP or /r/yourfavoritecharacter. People are allowed to not like your ship or post negative things about your favorite character. You can’t handle that? Stay in your Tumblr/Discord echo chamber.

3. Why do you think people not liking your ship is such a personal attack on you? I like ships others don’t and it doesn’t impact my life when someone expresses their dislike. Why do you let it get you so defensive? As long as someone isn’t addressing a rant at you, let it be and move on.

4. If you don’t like a topic in a sub maybe you should stay out of it and not comment, or start a thread asking if anyone else likes the thing you like.

5. You’re on Reddit. This is such a key point I’m going to remind you again. If you came there expecting that everyone else would blow sunshine to your OTP and your favorite character because you think they should, you went to the wrong place.

You should leave the rizzles fandom alone. Your story The Moment is AU enough to be offensive. It is horrible, gratuitous violence that we don't need in our lives. Things that don't even really exist. so some fucked up things have happened to you. look. go see a therapist like everyone else. Stop whining about it on the internet and trying to pass it off as a story. I don't know what others see in you, but I hope that for every 'awesome' review, theres someone like me. to tell you the truth.

Okay. So here’s the thing. I rarely tag my responses. And when I do, they’re with things like tiny heart, and im dead. stupid things that no one really pays attention to. But I’m gonna tag this rizzles, and OTP and fanfiction and ouat and all those other wonderful ships, and hope that all of you lovely people take a moment to read it. Because I feel really strongly about what I’m about to say.

Every day, outside of this country and right here, in America, children get hurt. They get sold and beaten and abused and left behind, because people like you, Anon, have decided that things like that don’t really happen. In 2010 the number of child deaths reported with the cause being abuse rose to 5.7… A DAY.

that means that every day. 6 kids die at the hands of someone who is suppose to be protecting them. 

Child abuse occurs at every socioeconomic level, across ethnic and cultural lines, within all religions and at all levels of education. It does not know race, genger, religion or sexual orientation. 

And it is not. IS NOT. eradicated.  Not here. 

not anywhere…and the sooner we realize, the faster we can fix it. And then stories like mine don’t even have to be born. 

Look. Hate on me. Hate my story. where it comes from inside of me, are not things I care to share with you, as you have shown yourself to be at best, naive, and at worst, pretty heartless. So I will just say that there are over 4,200 R&I stories on ff.net, and many of them include the type of sunshine and daisies point of view you wish for. Read them. They will make you happy.  

God, Anon. my goal is not to preach at you, or to bully you into taking another look at my story. It’s not even to befriend you. We are far to far apart for that, and I don’t even know your name. (i’m tc by the way. It is nice to meet you…sort of) 

My goal is to write a story about the women that I adore. To give them a love that can and does transcend anything and everything, even the foulest parts of human nature that we’d sometimes rather not look at. If that’s not for you…I completely understand.
