Normally, Yylfordt is a relentless nuisance, finding every way to get under your skin no matter how ill-advised that may be at any given time. He’s argumentative, stubborn, and stupidly overconfident— almost pitifully easy to manipulate, if you use that misplaced confidence against him. 

You’re learning, though, that there are ways to keep that rude mouth of his shut... or get him to be a little more polite to you, at least. 

When he’s been brought to the edge a handful of times, yet denied orgasm at the last possible second, the threat of stopping turns his attitude around for the better. Yylfordt gets pliant when he’s desperate, and so—

i like to think that edrad can be a bit of a romantic when he wants to be. sure, emotions like this aren't really something that hollows are used to feeling, but i think that is part of why he likes it so much.

he enjoys being physically affectionate with you in any way.

he also likes the size difference that the two of you have. he thinks it is very endearing how small you seem next to him. no matter your size, edrad has a large build.

the kiss itself does fluster him a bit.

it's definitely not what he was expecting when you started to lean in close to him all of the sudden.

he's pretty curious about what that means to you, and when you explain it, he's even more touched by your affections. maybe you see his cheeks turn just a tad pink.

unlike shawlong, he will (very politely, might i add) ask for kisses here and there.

however, that kiss renders him more speechless than he had ever been previously.

he stares at you for a few moments, blinking rapidly while he processes the fact that you had just had your lips on his, his cheeks gradually developing a pink tint.

maybe his silence worries you despite him almost always being that way, so you hurry to explain what it all means.

his hand comes up to brush across his lips. his face flushes a bit darker with every passing second. just when you think that maybe this was too much; way too brash of a decision, he speaks up.

"...that was nice."

he's not a vocal asker, clearly, but the both of you will learn the subtle signs he uses to request kisses here and there.

it takes him a while to fully learn how to kiss you back, but rest assured that he will figure it out! he is a very attentive lover.

he isn't much of a fan of pda.

he will absolutely adore all of that attention once you are away from everyone, though!

Szayel for the character opinion ask!

Character Opinion Bingo

I know some who love Szayel and some who hate him, but I'm in the indifferent camp. I love how he's a foil for Mayuri and gives us a glimpse into his mind that we wouldn't otherwise see (that being how he views perfection and it's hindrance on science and discovery). I especially love how he's used in TYBW arc (or at least his illusion in Mayuri's mind). Kubo bringing him back to haunt Mayuri, to show that even though Mayuri considered him weak, he still made enough of an impact that when at his lowest and about to mentally break, Mayuri thinks of Szayel and his views on scientific discovery. It's like his consciousness took on the form of someone he loathed, only to make him finally accept that he cared for Nemu beyond being his greatest creation. I really can't wait to see how the anime staff will handle that scene, I have no doubt it'll be just as good as it was in the manga.

I also like his design, but that's pretty typical for Kubo; the man can make anything and everything look stylish or cool.

I was not a fan of what he did to Nemu, though that's the point; it was horrifying and I cringed the first time reading it. Also, his theatrics were a little lost on me, but in a way they balanced out Mayuri's indifference and his own flavor of theatrics.

Also, was I the only one who was bewildered when it's revealed he has a brother and nothing was done with that? It seems like there was no love lost when Szayel learned about Yylfordt's death. Was the point to show how Hollows don't have bonds like the Shinigami and Humans do? Was it to show Szayel's disregard for life? I feel like Kubo could've expanded on their relationship more, considering Yylfordt was part of Grimmjow's fraccion while Szayel was one of the Espada and didn't have his brother as part of his fraccion.

I will say, out of the deaths in BLEACH, his has got be one of the most brutal. It shows that you don't need violence, gore, or something grand to make a death brutal, just a stab through the chest that feels like it's a 1000 years in the making just makes me go:

Ylfordt for 55! Now that he’s gotten a taste of how sex can be with a loving partner, he’s a demanding, needy brat. Dry humping and begging reader to give him some relief.
