I keep finding ZNN's very different approaches in how they talk with the press and fans so fascinating. They're both used to getting teased and being asked personal questions of course. But where New is usually the type to imply, cutely and sassily show off, teasingly state "I'm not telling 🙂‍↔️", try to downplay, and getting endearingly teased by fans and reporters-- P'Zee jokes too, absolutely, but he sometimes casually and intentionally slips out more info than New would ever share lol but then he can also get really sincere and serious like at the end of today's interview (clip below). I'm also thinking about the countless times he's asked fans not to scream when all they're doing is taking care of each other (e.g. P'Zee wiping New's sweat for him), like all he wants sometimes is for the public to take him/them seriously.

Anyway, here's an update of sorts on the Much Discussed™️ kisses during NuNew's 1st concert (translations below the clip again, translated to the best of my ability but still keep in mind I'm not a native speaker 🙏)

NN: Behind the fan, I... the time I was wondering and brought my face closer, "Eh?" When he did [🪭💋], I guess I was a bit stunned but not much. But- the second one when he suddenly asked... I didn't think he'd ask... like- (Z: Yeah) somewhere with as many people as this.

Z: Because [unintelligible] shy/embarrassed.

NN: Right.

🗣: Shy

🗣: Have you stopped wondering yet? ×2

NN: ...

🗣: At first you were wondering but after the cheek/sniff kiss, did you stop wondering?

NN: Uh, well-

🗣: Yeah, why did you cry?

NN: Why did I cry? Because, like, what Hia said was so touching.

🗣: Ahh profound

NN: Hia spoke movingly and that was emotional (Z: Right) in terms of my feelings at the time because I'd been practicing for the concert... really hard and extensively, very tiring/tired (Z: Absolutely), and wanting it to turn out well. And me and hia have been walking this path together for a long time now, too. Hia has been part of every single step and journey of mine. When hia spoke, it moved me, and then hia suddenly asked to sniff/cheek kiss, even though- before this, hia has never- never, like- done... in a public place/in public at all. (Z: Yeah) So, I was, like- ...happy and also embarrassed. I just started crying all of a sudden, I didn't want to cry.

🗣: You just said 'never done this in public at all' (🗣: Uiii) meaning that- aside from this, there is something happening~

NN: 🤭

Z: There is ×2 [confirming - Yet Again. - that they often sniff/cheek kiss]

🗣: /acting like fujoshis lmao while NN giggles and Z tries to steer back to the sincerity of what this means to him/them

Z: I feel it [sniff/cheek kisses] is-

Z: I- I/We're giving encouragement, meaning it's a way to show love and give encouragement.

RINTARO SUNA

Sometimes he finds it hard to express himself, not necessarily because he’s faced trauma or hardship, but because he’s never exactly had anyone open up to him. He appreciates that you’re so willing and confident in him to express your own emotions but he sort of just stares at you when you wait for him to do the same. Especially when you’re arguing, he’ll say most things with an unintentionally apathetic tone, despite the fact that he truly means well. You can’t always detect that though, thus resulting in you feeling severely neglected.

KOTARO BOKUTO

He finds it difficult to take criticism, even where it’s constructive. Even when you politely call him out on something, his mood and smile will drop instantly. He views criticism almost as a way of making fun of his capabilities to do things, even when people have the opposite intention. He’d listen when you try to reason with his sudden change in mood, telling him that what he views as hate is actually the product of love and how much people care for him. It would take him a few hours to snap out of his bad mood.

SATORI TENDO

Although he tries the best he can to do otherwise, Tendo speaks his mind. Initially, you viewed it as a green flag, grateful that he was honest with you. However, sometimes you needed sweet treatment in times of despair or pain, and he had trouble holding his tongue. His teasing tended to turn into blunt remarks that you had to glare at him for, which would quickly make him seal his lips after apologising promptly. Sometimes he catches himself before you do once he sees your expression start to anger, which would cause him to reword whatever spills from his mouth.

KENTARO KYOTANI

He gets mad quick. God knows he’s trying, especially for you, but his therapist had insisted that you must be patient with him for both your sakes. He’d get mad over the smallest things and stare at you incredulously when you do nothing but smile sheepishly at his outbursts. Yes, it satiates him slightly to see you so calm, but it also just causes him to walk away with a fire still heated in his chest. He always apologises though, you never have to prompt it out of him, he’d eventually approach you with his hands in his pockets and an apology spilling from his lips (following which you’d tackle him in a reassuring hug).

Episode 3: "Super Happy Crazy Fun Time Japan"

A very fun episode that showed the dynamic of each team really well.

Emma & Priya couldn't talk things out with Julia and who knows what Lauren is up to, so Wayne had to intervene which may or may not come as a surprise since he is a team captain for a hockey team afterall.

Team Raj was easily the most cooperative and functional team of this episode. Bowie did great during the pinball game, and everyone had a say in the production of the commercial, well everyone not named Ripper.

Unforrtunately, Millie and the rest of her team put their trust on Zee way too much for being a movie critic. They really should've listened to Nichelle instead. Let's just say Chef and Chris weren't too keen of their commercial .
