hello it's me 🤓 anon or whatever here to report to subjects (yes one is dr ratio DUH) but let me get this out the way
(sorry if there's grammar/spelling mistakes, it's late for me lolz)
you got the wrong post with my anon tag WWAAAHh
the post that I had originally come from is so far down on your page I gave up on finding it as my finger became sore, so here's my 2nd most recent ask:
https://www.tumblr.com/q1ngqve/744746365051158528/hi-im-the-same-person-who-made-the-ask-that-was?source=share
anyway veritas ratio am I right
I honestly do NOT think dr ratio would be the possessive type of man or not. like, I'm sure he'd get the tinyest of jealous if he saw another man speaking to you, but would quickly discard the thought considering your his lover--
the same person who dedicated their sweet time into gaining his trust and even romantic feelings, however could you betray him like that?
he knows that he was right for you and you were right for him, as if you both were the perfect equation. (see what I did there hehe)
even during intimacy would be better the kind of man to show you how much he loves you
(in all honesty, reminded me of one ur post revolving around if his significant other were to be insecure and him being like "why would you ever think that? let me show you how much I adore you." and honestly I actually loved reading that sm cause I found it so sweet‼️‼️)
as much of a stand offish guy he may be-- even if he is in bed, you're still the person he fell head over heels for. the same person who loved him like no other has. so at the end of the day, I'm gonna say little bro does NOT get jealous‼️‼️
and thank you for your kind words left on my last ask, I appreciate it
🫶
omg that is very far down 😧 (changing it real quick tell me if there’s anything else that i’ve tagged wrong okay)
(づ>/////<)づ♡ this is so cute like you’re right he’s probably exactly like this with his lover 😭 and he’s probably very soft too (deep down)

I'm a lesbian and i see myself in media about bi women, also in media about gay/bi men. even if it's not Entirely made for me, it's still for me. and I know and hope that other gay/bi people are able to see parts of themselves in lesbian media. sorry to be cheesy but we are more similar than we are different and it's those experiences we share that draw us to these stories in the first place, and the reason we're even telling them <3

I'm re-reading the Discworld series for reasons, and honestly the most relatable part of reading these as an adult is how many of the protagonists start out being tired, used to their little routine and vaguely disgruntled by the interruption of the Plot. Sam Vimes wants to lie drunk in a gutter and absolutely doesn't want to be arresting dragons. Rincewind is yanked into every situation he's ever encountered, though he'd much rather be lying in a gutter too. (Minus the alcohol. Plus regretting everything he's ever done said witnessed or even heard about fourth-hand in his whole life.) Granny Weatherwax is deeply suspicious of foreign parts and that includes the next town over; Nanny has leaned into the armor of "nothing ever happens to jolly grannies who terrorize their daughters-in-law and make Saucy Jokes"
Only the young people don't seem to have picked up on this---and that's fortunate, because someone has to run around making things happen, if only so Vimes and Granny and Rincewind have a reason to get up (complaining bitterly the whole time) and put it all to rights. Without Carrot, Margrat, Eric, etc. these characters don't have that reason; they're likely to stay in the metaphorical gutter and keep wondering where it all went wrong or why anything has to change.
............well, that's not quite true. You get the sense that Vetinari knows how much certain people hate the Plot. And as the person sitting behind the metaphorical lighting board of Ankh-Morpork, he takes no small pleasure in forcing the Plot-haters specifically to stand up, and say some lines.

i feel like im in a weird demographic when it comes to the percy jackson live action series because of the age i was when i read them. cause i read the lightning thief for the first time when i was in single digits, so percy being twelve seemed appropriately grown up. and then as i got further into the series and into heroes of olympus, percy got older with me, and was always kinda broadly my age or a little older. so like, the movie cast was too old when that happened, because they were way older than me. but now the series cast is actual twelve year olds (or so) and they are so obviously just little babies that im now forced to confront the fact that uhhh percy was in fact a fuckin child when all this started??? exCUSE ME???

How I'll Never Fail Again
How I’ll Never Fail Again
I was working at our local high school a few weeks ago. I was on Cafeteria duty when I saw a note handwritten on a blackboard in the corner of the room. The note was scrawled in chalk and the first line said, “I never fail” I thought that was a curious statement. How was that possible?  so I read the second line:  “I either. . .”  I either what? The third line had the answer: “Win or…

Idk why but I can imagine Vasco and machete looking at the stars together since there was probably not a lot of light pollution in their time than there is nowadays so the stars were probably wayyy more visible

Most annoying NMJ or JC take is when someone that dislikes them is like "oh you're a fan of him? *scoff* Well obviously you've only seen cql, where he was super watered down. In the novel he's a dislikable asshole and that's the objectively superior canon I'm working from instead of your woobified fanfic." Meanwhile your main canon is novel canon and you genuinely find novel Jiang Cheng and Nie Mingjue complex sympathetic characters.

As much as I adore conlangs, I really like how the Imperial Radch books handle language. The book is entirely in English but you're constantly aware that you're reading a "translation," both of the Radchaai language Breq speaks as default, and also the various other languages she encounters. We don't hear the words but we hear her fretting about terms of address (the beloathed gendering on Nilt) and concepts that do or don't translate (Awn switching out of Radchaai when she needs a language where "citizen," "civilized," and "Radchaai person" aren't all the same word) and noting people's registers and accents. The snatches of lyrics we hear don't scan or rhyme--even, and this is what sells it to me, the real-world songs with English lyrics, which get the same "literal translation" style as everything else--because we aren't hearing the actual words, we're hearing Breq's understanding of what they mean. I think it's a cool way to acknowledge linguistic complexity and some of the difficulties of multilingual/multicultural communication, which of course becomes a larger theme when we get to the plot with the Presgar Translators.
