Help.
Is there an order you're supposed to read the Geronimo Stilton books in???? If so which one's the first???
Well, yes there is an order to the books, but you can read them in any order you want! If you wanna read them in chronological order tho then uuuuhhhhhhh depends on the language you read them in because publishing orders differ depending on the language.
Since you said you’re gonna read them in Italian, uhhhhhhhhhhh I’m not entirely sure because I don’t read the books in Italian (unfortunately) and the Geronimo Stilton official website doesn’t have their Library of Alexandria of a catalogue of the Italian main books for some reason (if I’m reading stuff correctly) :/
Soooo ye just grab whatever’s at the thrift store and read away HAHAHAHAH the rest of the fandom I believe can give you book recs if they feel so inclined
Welcome to the Stilton fandom, my friend, hope you enjoy the madness brainrot :3

my copy has finally arrived... sixteen old songs from my earnest friends
THE CORONER'S GAMBIT LINER NOTES
TRANSCRIPT:
HE was a guy from California who'd fallen in love with a woman from Iowa. She was working at a water testing lab. They lived in a very small house whose pipes froze every winter. The landlord would come by and put space heaters under the sink. Years later, they retained the memory of the water coming back on - the sudden sound of the shower, the rush from the sink. They slept on a foam mattress in the bedroom in the summer, and on the couch in the living room in the winter, since the house did not have central heating, rendering the bedroom essentially uninhabitable from December through March.
They were not really the kind of people to plan things: they had fun when and where they could on an austere budget. The ice skates they bought used from Play It Again Sports made for fun Christmas mornings on West Indian Creek in Nevada, one town over from where they lived. He learned to cook, and to bake: they didn't go out to eat, because there really wasn't any place to go out and eat, though on occasion they would get a pizza from Casey's, because their town had a Casey's. Under the right circumstances a gas station pizza can be just the thing, and they sometimes found themselves in those circumstances.
He made music which was slowly reaching a wider audience. If he played in New York or Chicago as many as a hundred people might show up. He was idly entertaining the idea of becoming ambitious about it: as a child, he'd been pretty pretentious, and although he was working hard to shake most of that off, a little pretension isn't a bad thing in an artist. Just as a seasoning, as a little extra flavor here or there.
One summer he took a job as a harvest help at the Farmers Cooperative Exchange down the street from the very small house where the pipes froze in winter: getting the corn and soybeans into the grain elevator and into a big Morton building where the beans formed giant mountains, which he sometimes had to climb to knock down the peaks. If you don't knock down the peaks the beans get too hot and might rot. The job didn't pay much, and he wasn't good at it, but during slow stretches he would write song lyrics on scraps of paper or in a small notebook, and when he got home from work and washed off the crop dust, he'd set the lyrics to music. "Elijah" was written like this. So was "The Alphonse Mambo."
He took a Greyhound bus to Omaha to record some of the songs, so that the album would have a nice varied feel to it, but he got very sick, which is not an uncommon thing to have happen after a Greyhound ride, and only a few songs came out the way he wanted. He kept those, and then they got married and moved to Ames because the City of Colo had purchased their home from that landlord and intended to knock it down, which they did do, he affirmed years later: and in Ames he put the album together, and then later they moved to North Carolina and a whole lot of other things happened, too, but the main thing is that this album is a document of a time when two young people in love hadn't yet located the spot on the current that would carry them to their destination, twenty-five years later, parents of two beautiful children, worlds away from Colo, the place where, for better or worse, as the saying goes, all this really began.
Dedicated to my wife, Lalitree, and to the City of Colo, Iowa.
This is the original text of the paper bag that housed the first edition of this album. I am leaving it intact rather than revising it. Stage Bidet's moment comes ever closer: let the people tremble in fear.
Elijah, Baboon, Horseradish Road, Onions, and the Alphonse Mambo recorded in Omaha with Simon Joyner, Chris Deden, Lonnie Methe, Brad Smith, John Kotchen, Steve Micek, and Pat Oakes. All of them are owed money and are to be treated with deference and respect. Five of the remaining songs were recorded at Main St. in Colo, which is a small town in Iowa, and the rest were recorded two blocks north of Emma McCarthy Lee Park in Ames, which is a considerably larger town half and hour west of Colo. Though happy circumstances currently have the Mountain Goats claiming Ames, we continue to straight up represent Colo and will put the slap down on anyone who disrespects it. Transfer and levels by Bob Durkee at FBE in Pomona, California, with Joel Huschle attending. As a result of some regrettable but inevitable conversations that took place during the transfer, Bob, Joel, and the Mountain Goats have formed a new, super-powerful punk rock machine called Stage Bidet, and we urge you to watch for us and clear us a wide berth whenever we're in your town. Instead of thanking all the people I always thank to whom I say, collectively and with no less sincerity: thanks. I am just going to spend the time left us here addressing an absent friend. Rozz: I wish you hadn't've gone and killed yourself. Though I hadn't seen or spoken with you in eight years since that night when, as far as I can tell from the reports I was later able to piece together, you tried, not without reason, to strangle the life out of me out there on the landing of Damien's apartment and I probably never would have ever seen you again anyway, it was still hard to hear that you were gone. All your friends had been predicting your death since the early eighties, and no-one could bear the thought of you growing old, but none of that did anything to soften the blow when I heard. I don't really believe that the dead see or hear what we do out here in the realm of corruptible things and I don't imagine that the anyone reads the scribblings on the backs of album jackets to them, either, so I am really only addressing a memory. To that memory I say: I thought of you now and then when I was writing these songs. I don't suppose they'd do much for you, but I thought of you all the same. All your friends miss you in some way, a little or a lot. The rumors about your final hours are dismal and tawdry: I am sure they would please you immensely. For your sake, I hope that the Christians were wrong and that you were right about whether the faithless are destined for eternal torment. In the event that you are a ghost and are wandering the earth moaning and rattling chains, I moved to Iowa from California four or five years ago, stop by any time. Have a seat on the couch until I get home from work. Help yourself to anything in the refrigerator, or to the whiskey and sake on top of it. Make yourself right at home.

Now I finally seem to be able to do things let me present to you the results of the 'vibe' polls :3
Earlier this week I jumped on the hype train for polls about which bandmember of JO + what character in the käärijä universe you felt I shared a vibe with.
Now I could have shared the results earlier but one thing to know about me is that I often get stupid ideas so I decided that whoever you chose that I shared a vibe with I'd cosplay
So after having searched my closet for things that somehow worked without further ado here's the Joker Out member you guys voted I shared vibe with:
I got
Jure aka the cat 😸
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean it was not even close x'D
This surprised me since I hadn't expected to be paired with the cat boy xD But thinking about it I can see why you guys would chose him - we share a sort of bubbly excitment for things and - at least online - I can come off as very energetic and silly x'D Also I am known to randomly meow at people x'D
However, personally I feel like Jure is way more extroverted than I am and so I am glad to see Nace being the second highest :'D I feel like we do indeed share a sense of calm/silent presence while still being able to join in on the fun - I think where I might divert from Nace is that I am definitely not good at being the mom friend :'D x'D
For Bojan in third I think we're back to the 'I see why you'd say that because I am quite energetic and excited online but also he is way more extroverted than I believe I am' argument :'D yet like I'll elaborate on below with the comments for the tags I can definitely see the points for why Bojan could fit :3
Jan and Kris being so far behind is ooooph x'D Well, I can kind of understand tho especially Kris :'D I am not sure I'd call myself a Kris either - he is way too cool and sassy compared to me x'D Jan might be too laid back idk?
Now, tag time :3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
@sve-sto-znam Micek - I love it x'D (First nickname unlocked x'D hahahah)
@c28hunter + @anxious-witch awwwn you are both too nice :'3 Especially you, Eryka calling me a comfort blog 😭
@merlilica whelp x'D I see you definitely picked up on my excited puppy and/or orange cat vibes x'D I don't blame you :'D
@j-restlessgeek this one hits close to home :'3 because yes I am quite hard on myself and have always been :'D Also I can be a bit of a jack of all trades (master of none) sometimes x'D the last point is honestly very true - I am way too much of a rulefollower to cheat x'D
Now onto the Käärijä universe results
You guys chose ...
Häärijä
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Actually, that didn't surprise me much x'D I would probably too have chosen the little yellow man given that all his little quirks reads as very autistic to me which to a dorky autistic person like me is very fitting x'D He seems a bit confused but a good guy and sport and I would like to think myself the same :'D Also we both have a dumptruck of an ass x'D
Käärijä and Jaakko sharing second surprised me tho - especially Jaakko but that might be because I am not sure what his personality is tbh x'D so I am curious to hear if either of you voting Jaakko could tell me what makes me a Jaakko :'D? Käärijä I can sort of understand since I have probably stolen way too much/let me inspire of his aesthetic recently x'D yet I also see it as a sort of compliment because I have indeed felt more confident (both in my body and in my weirdness) lately :'D <3
Third is a big tie but that is to be expected I guess when there's not many votes (which is fair it is a harder poll to answer :'D) so Jesse, Bojan and Tommy takes that spot :3
Time for comments on tags :D
Tumblr media Tumblr media
@bisonaari see now it is here I'd love to hear from you (if you want to and/or have time mind you) Bison what exactly it means to be Jaakko coded since I am not sure myself :'D
@j-restlessgeek fair x'D
@anxious-witch This is so interesting since you pretty much just guessed my major x'D Sociology was my favourite topic the year I studied Journalism and after that I moved to study Psychology which is sort of the same thing so kudos to you to read me this well x'D I find it intersting as well that you mentioned me being right in other polls because personally I felt so lost in many of the polls x'D For that reason I tried only tagging on polls I was a bit more sure about and even then it was a lot of following the gut feeling x'D but really I don't mind I see it as a compliment being compared to Bojan :3 xD
And that was this - that was this very long and probably overly detailed rundown of the results x'D Thank you for everybody participating :3

do you know how many geronimo stilton and thea stilton books there are? i’ve been trying to find all of them but i can’t seem to pin down the numbers
Italian or English? That affects the numbers here.
If we're talking about the Italian books then uh gimme a second to die before tallying them up :D /j
But if we're talking English, let's talk brass tacks.
Geronimo Stilton as a franchise has a lot of series, I'm sure that's a given. However, we also need to consider the offshoots under the Geronimo Stilton franchise. Let's exclude the ones that fall under the Thea Stilton franchise, and because of its small size, let's lump Creepella's miniseries in with them.
VERY IMPORTANT HINT: DO NOT USE THE OFFICIAL GERONIMO STILTON WEBSITE FOR YOUR NUMBERS. IT'S OUTDATED AS HELL AND IS ONLY UPDATED UP TO BOOK 59 OF GERONIMO'S MAIN SERIES.
This means that for the Geronimo Stilton franchise, we have the main series, the Special Editions (the gold-bound ones), the Kingdom of Fantasy series (and Imaginaria but I guess Scholastic lumps them together for some reason), the Journeys Through Time, the time travel graphic novels published by Papercutz, Cavemice, Spacemice, Micekings, Heromice, Creepella Von Cacklefur, the Mini Mysteries, the Classic Tales, the anniversary editions, the Reporter Graphic Novels, the new graphic novels, and one or two short books that didn't end up in the other tallies (Strange Case of the Dragon Dance, for example).
As of now, we have 82 books in the main series, 7 special editions (if we're counting A Christmas Tale and A Christmas Catastrophe here), 18 Kingdom of Fantasy books including The Phoenix of Destiny and The Dragon of Fortune, 8 Journeys Through Time, 20 time travel graphic novels, 15 Cavemice books, 12 Spacemice books, 8 Micekings books, 11 Heromice books, 9 Creepella Von Cacklefur books, 6 Mini-Mysteries, 11 Classic Tales, 11 Reporter Graphic Novels (with 2 on their way), 4 books from the new graphic novels, and let's add Strange Case of the Dragon Dance as an extra 1. (Do let me know if there are more short stories similar to this one so I can add them on.)
That makes a whopping 223 books, and we're only talking about the Geronimo Stilton franchise :D
Now, for the Thea Stilton series. This is significantly easier to count, but in kind of a sad way. Thea Stilton as a series is strangely being overlooked by Scholastic for whatever reason, resulting in ONE BOOK BEING PUBLISHED PER YEAR. WE'RE STARVING HERE AND THEY ALREADY DEPRIVE US OF MORE ;;W;;
Anyway, Thea Stilton books. This means the main series, the Mouseford Academy series, the Graphic Novels, the Special Editions, the Books of the Heart/Classic Tales series, and the newly concluded Treasure Seekers series. Very easy to count, right? Hah, WRONG. Unlike the Geronimo Stilton books, which are numbered officially, the Thea Stilton books will have to be counted manually. I mean, the Geronimo Stilton Wiki is starting to catch up and update its info anyway, so I'll be using that (it's also where I got the other numbers, along with some extra research).
OKAY THEA STILTON BOOKS, we currently have 35 in the main series (with The Cave of Stars coming to bookshelves by June if our date is right), 20 Mouseford Academy books (but only 17 of which are available to the general public for some reason), 8 graphic novels, 9 special editions, 3 Classic Tales, and 3 Treasure Seekers books. That totals up to 75 books, excluding the upcoming Cave of Stars and the 3 (4?) Mouseford books whose existences I can only mark for sure with pictures on GoodReads and literally nowhere else :D
If you're asking for only the English books then that's all dandy.
If we're talking about the Italian books, though.... can you give me perhaps a year or two to mentally prepare myself for that? :'D There's so many of them, I swear. Learning the general numbers alone is gonna make you enter a forbidden garden of realizing just how much Scholastic is depriving us of content, and just how well-fed the Italians are by getting regular content of everyone's bespectacled Mickey Mouse but better figure and the five girls who became everyone's lesbian awakening. And the fact that they're getting it so regularly that there was an entire ITALIAN INTERVIEW talking about Elisabetta Dami's ridiculously fast publish rates and asking her how the hell she manages to put out that many books so quickly. Yeah. If you wish to ruin your innocence and begin affectionately envying Italy with all your heart, then feel free to look it up :D
Anyway byeeeeee--
