Hello. I hope you don't mind I use your askbox to vent, but poeple calling MCU Loki "God of Stories" is really pissing me off. His official title is God Loki and mistagging him only clogs the tag for actual God(dess) of Stories Loki from the comics.

I don't know if poeple mistag because they think it's going to give them more engagement (hello, this is Tumblr, not Twitter or Instagram), but this practice is both extremely annoying and counterproductive. Poeple who use the Enchantricks tags don't want to see Loki/Sylvie content, and Loki/Sylvie shippers have their own tags so mistagging is absolutely useless and only brings negative engagement. Same goes for every characters who get mistagged. Sylvie fans don't call her "Lady Loki", I don't think a single B-15 fan is going to call her Verity in the long term (we all have our HC names for her anyways ^^), etc...

I really wish poeple understood that. I've only seen anti-series fans complain about that, but as a fan of both the series and the comics, when I go to the God of the Stories time, it's to look at pictures of AoA Loki. Mistagging is just like putting a mess on the library shelves, it is lazy and serves no other purpose than annoy the next user.

yes, holy shit, i hate it. i'm genuinely leaving the fandom over this, ditching this blog and making a new one and everything. the only thing that stuff like this does is demoralize people.

our discord server is trying our best to implement a new comic loki tagging system because of this crosstagging problem. not a lot of people are using it yet, but these are the tags we're trying to get people to use in addition to normal comic book tags (it would help a TON if people went back and added these to their old 616)

Normal Batman fans: I don't want to engage with parts of canon in which my fave is an abusive asshole. I choose to engage with other stories instead, and I ignore stories that I dislike.

He's COMPLICATED! Bruce LOVES his family. COMPLICATED, I say! NOT ABUSIVE! Would an abusive parent put a hand on his child's shoulder in a vague display of warmth once every few years??? Hm??? Yeah, I DIDN'T THINK SO, YOU STUPID ABUSE VICTIMS!! Bruce LOVES his family. He does nice things—why are you ignoring all the nice things that he's done? He is just an IMPERFECT person, he has made some teeny tiny mistakes repeatedly with 5+ separately acquired children over a twenty-year period. Bruce is just a regular IMPERFECT human being—which means that you critics are the UNREASONABLE MONSTERS imposing PERFECTIONIST standards on a poor innocent middle-aged baby adult man! Bruce LOVES his family. How could we expect exceptionally privileged hyperintelligent parents NOT to regularly use their position of power to make 4-6 children feel inadequate, unsafe, and alone?? What ridiculously high standards! Bruce LOVES his family.

With Death tbh it's a lot of personality traits that the fandom either ignores or never noticed?? My absolute favorite line of his is during a scene at the end of the film where Puss once again drops his sword out of reach, and while Death moves to give it back he just

'tsk tsk, you really gotta stop losing that.'

To be honest the main reason other than,,,, y'know,,, that he ended up on my F/O list is because of his dry and kinda snaky humor, he made me laugh so many times and NOONE talks about his jokes. With Ramona it's a very similar thing. She is very deadpan and has an unintentional dry sense of humor. The main difference between the two is she's usually not trying to be funny. She kinda just, speaks her mind.

She doesn't play into the meta humor as much as other characters. She's serious and seems very apathetic but there are so many moments that shows her feelings?? Like the scene where she and Kim are on casual hangout to get coffee and jus,,, gals bein gals? Having a good time and chatting? (Would put the scene in here but I cant find it.)

And a less positive example that's honestly more of an art note is the reaction she has when Knives tells her Scott cheated on the two of them. UGH SUCH A GOOD PANEL.

Teeth are a central part of his design and OMG teeth. ugh. love teeth.

Ramona isn't a romantic F/O or anything, she's just my roommate but I love her sense of fashion and how she dyes her hair, in my self ship she gets my S/I into hair dye. In my real life she gives me the confidence to go ham on my outfits and makeup, the other day I wore cheetah themed makeup with Liquid gold spots! Wild!

i rlly rlly rlly want to get into the loki comics but i have no idea where to start, do you have any recommendations?

i'd highly recommend starting with kieron gillen's journey into mystery. JiM and young avengers: mic drop at the edge of time and space are both required reading before you read Agent of Asgard 🗞🗞

comic books are really good at filling in the details for readers because they generally try not to assume that everyone who picks them up has read the comics that lead up to them, so try not to worry too much about missing things

you can also search "loki comics reading order" and you'll find a bunch of great chronological lists. JiM, young avengers, and AoA tend to be the most important fandom-wise though so those are the three (in that order!!) i tend to recommend people who want to start out.
