Inician obras de Villa Panamericana con promesa de que estará lista a tiempo

Lima, 24 feb (EFE).- Las obras de construcción de la Villa Panamericana, que albergará a los atletas que participen en los Juegos Panamericanos 2019, comenzaron hoy en la capital peruana con la promesa de que las infraestructuras estarán listas a tiempo y por menos dinero del previsto inicialmente. Así se expresó el vicepresidente de la República y ministro de Transportes, Martín Vizcarra, en declaraciones recogidas por la agencia oficial Andina en la ceremonia de inicio de los trabajos de remoción de tierras en el barrio de Villa El Salvador, donde se construirán las residencias de los deportistas. "El reto es grande y el tiempo es corto. Todo estará dentro de los plazos. Tenemos la seguridad de llegar al objetivo con el trabajo responsable que estamos realizando", dijo el vicepresidente respecto a las obras. Según indicó, en los próximos tres meses se realizará la licitación de la empresa que construirá las infraestructuras de la Villa Panamericana, licitación que será "pública y abierta" para empresas peruanas y extranjeras. En un principio, las modificaciones aplicadas al plan maestro original de las obras permitirán un ahorro de 300 millones de soles (unos 92 millones de dólares) al Estado, ya que se construirán menos torres que las originalmente previstas, aunque serán más altas. Vizcarra además justificó el hecho de que se hayan empezado los trabajos de remoción de tierras antes de tener a los contratistas por el hecho de que así se podrán ahorrar hasta cuatro meses en los trabajos de construcción. "Estamos ahorrando plazos y dinero al Estado. Eso es muy importante, ahorrar todo lo que se pueda en tiempo", subrayó Vizcarra. Estas obras están siendo realizadas por el Ejército peruano y serán fundamentalmente de desbroce, movimiento de tierras y preparación del terreno para la ejecución de las obras. El pasado mes de enero el Gobierno peruano pasó la organización de los Juegos Panamericanos 2019 del Ministerio de Educación al de Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones con la intención de agilizar las obras. Lima fue designada sede de los Juegos Panamericanos en 2013 tras prometer una inversión de 700 millones de dólares en obras deportivas en Lima y el puerto del Callao, que incluían varios polideportivos, una villa deportiva y la modernización del sistema de transporte. Aún falta por construir el estadio de atletismo y su pista de entrenamiento, el Centro Acuático, la Villa Panamericana con 1.200 departamentos para 9.000 personas e instalaciones deportivas en Villa María del Triunfo y el Callao. El torneo Panamericano albergará 38 disciplinas deportivas, que serán disputadas por 6.500 deportistas, mientras que los Parapanemericanos tendrán 17 disciplinas para 1.800 atletas. EFE
