Any suggestions on how to design fancures/fanseries and how to create an interesting theme?
Haha im afraid i dont have a lot of good advice… i just pick themes that resonate with me. a general rule i follow is that if you think a theme is too weird, it isn't!! and i also think that its possible to make something great with a "boring" or popular theme, just explore all the different angles you can approach it!
when designing its about 50% instinct and 50% searching for inspiration for me—what i really like to do is pick an object tied to my fancure's theme/motif and abstract it as much as possible, using the resulting shapes as recurring design elements.
shape design is really key for magical girl designs i think (to avoid looking generic), and ofc i look to canon precure for inspo! but there are lots of other artists/series with really strong shapes that inspire me, especially pokemon human designs :)

ok maybe i will publicly cry a little about the seven days prismagic MV/song in general bc FUCK. IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY
first of all the song itself. im not confident enough to break it down line by life as lets be honest...... Usually the youtube TLs are kinda rushed BUT they do still get the vision across, and when i read them i cant help but get the feeling that they are singing like. DIRECTLY to each other. and i dont mean this in a "the song is about their bond!" way, all their songs are about their bond, i mean this in a "call and response" way. like in the first verse you have natsume singing about how the passing seasons makes him feel, a more emotional approach, and then you have tsumugi respond with "your heart cannot be hidden with the color of your pure dreams," which is a very fitting comment for natsume as despite his best efforts to put up this Persona, his true, pure intentions always shine through in the end. then the next line is sora singing "your honest feelings always give me strength / because you always push this back gently and strongly" WHICH IS FITTING FOR TSUMUGI! because tsumugi is honest to a fault in contrast! and then in the second verse you have sora starting it off by singing about them continuing to paint their colors as they face their hardships, peak optimism basically, while the previous verse was centered around feelings this one seems to be the impact theyve had on each other, because natsume then follows it up by singing "i echoed a special bond that moved your heart" Which i think is a very beautiful way to emphasize the way natsumes love made sora feel accepted, as he was so used to alienation before joining yumenosaki. and then we have tsumugi singing "the words you like gave me the strength to face forward / its the magic that always made our dreams shine" which, to me, feels like a nod at natsume agreeing to be idols with tsumugi after the war when tsumugi was at his absolute lowest, just like how they said they would when they were kids. their dream! their dream that now came to fruition!!
NOW FOR THE MV. another theme in the song is them constantly singing about colors and the likes, which is especially cute bc soras synesthesia was what made him feel so different, yet now the three of them paint their world in the colors they wish together, as friends, but it is ALSO super cute bc! the three of them are the primary colors! together, they can create ANY color! which is why i absolutely ADORE the constant rainbows and such in the mv bc!! thats them!!!! thats what theyre capable of together!!!! the entire rainbow is theirs to paint the world with!!!!!! because they have each other!!!!!!! and anything becomes possible when theyre together!!!!!!!!!! and it just makes me so so so so so incredibly happy!!!!!!!!!! i loev switch so much its not even fucking funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She is the 1st Cure to appear in Divine PrisMagic Precure. She is the main pink cure, her civilian name is Kusaka Haia but more info about her personality and other things later. I finally got around to redesigning my old fancures. (most of  them are redesigned with the exception of 2 other groups)  Always wanted to do a side by side character sheet, with their magical and civilian forms on either side and well here we are! 😁
Stay tuned more art and information about my fancure groups.

pinned post!
I'm Leah, 21, he/him only.
not necessarily a fandom blog, but im here for fandoms and memes more than anything else. main fandoms at the moment are Wizard101, Dungeon Meshi, Epic the Musical, Undertale/Deltarune, will rb stuff from other franchises tho.
i am also obsessed with my own independent writing, Corrupted Spiral (a Wizard101 AU). A lot of posts I rb will be tagged #Corrupted Spiral and/or #CCSAU. Feel free to ask me about it. I love talking abt my work, even if i dont like publish it officially.
I have OCs! a few of them have actual bio posts but they may be outdated lol. Their names and little blurbs r below the cut. Prone to updates as I remember more of my silly little guys.
Undertale...ish, the Quotev era characters. (Most of these characters are retired from my writing and don't have active stories but are still dear to me.)
Chancery Hope Gaster - my first ever official OC, Soriel ship child. She's my first and the foundation so I love her. basically 50s.
Renee - an alternate timeline variant of Chancery who became a villain for the majority of her conscious life, "The Glitch". Now a has-been trying to find something to live for. 30.
Shadow Rouge - Chancery's childhood friend turned boyfriend turned husband. Dragon. basically 40s-50s
Flare Rouge - Chancery and Shadow's eldest son, a major protagonist in CCSAU. Balance wizard. 24
Flint Rouge - Flare's twin brother, younger by 3 minutes :P
Spark Rouge - Chancery & Shadow's eldest daughter. 18??
Wizard101
Steele Rouge - Spark's twin sister.
Poacher - A mercenary, big game hunter, and all around tough but cool guy. Also a dragon. 50s but I think this dude transcends time he just doesn't die lol. A very old oc, I don't remember much about him.
Coal - All of Poacher's LV distilled into a separate entity. Not that bad. In fact, he comes off as less threatening than ol' Poach. Anime boy twunk guy. I cannot picture him as anything older than 26 but surely he's older than that. Much to figure out and rebuild.
Nora Gem - my main Wizard, the Scion in Corrupted Spiral who went astray. Now some unholy mix of human, divine, bogeyman, and Lost. Storm wizard. 28. Probably dating Renee.
Sarah Dragontail - Nora's mom, a Wizard who's taken up freelance wandering traveler heroics. Formerly Life wizard, now a Music wizard. 56.
Iridian Fairytail - Nora's adoptive baby sister. Myth wizard, untrained. 10
Emma Titansong - Nora's cousin, Nordic Champion, mostly-retired Life wizard. 20.
Emmaline Stargem, better known as just Star - Emma's twin sister. Death wizard.
Savannah Prismage - Emma and Star's younger sister. Fire & Ice wizard, young pioneer in the study of "Thermancy" (thermo + mancy). 16.
Kiyom - the Nothing, gone on a path unlike Dasein did in canon and so became Something Else.
Para - the Divine Paradox separate from Nora, and the Dreamer given consciousness.
Mauria Kutscherzo - Maulwurf von Trap's mom. 60s.
Malkah Hadas - Queen of Mandoria (the one who had been on the throne before Mandar showed up) and Mandar's wife. Late 60s.
Dr. Clark Savage, Sr. - Duck Savage's father and creator. Dead at 65.
Agnes Chastity-Crane - a crane in Night Forest who begins investigating the odd mana left in the wake of people questing through Lemuria's story. Also accidentally invented guns :D. 20s.
Mark Moonfisher - my interpretation of that one Schismist soldier in Karamelle, Novus, and the Test Realm raid. Because Arc 4 doesn't happen normally in my AU, his story ends up different. Sharkperson (specifically spiny dogfish) who was born to gamer but forced to minor/nonexistent npc.
Pirate101
Ruthless Dirk - my main Pirate, swashbuckler, Karamellian fae disguising emself as a human, grew up in Skull Island. 22.
'Fair' Sarah Paisley - my original Pirate, witchdoctor (with a LOT of creative liberty because KI didn't have sensitivity), grew up in Krokotopia but lived in Skull Island. 28.
Ieronim Masterson - I took an incredibly minor character (Jim Masterson) & gave him more attention than canon ever would. Living with his brother Barklementizov & the rest of the Magnificent Seven, slowly healing from his time in the army.

NAME: Isaac Wilde
GODLY PARENT (IF APPLICABLE): Iris
AFFILIATION: Alumni 2012-2018, one of the Styx Seven
SPECIES: Demigod
ABILITIES: Mild chromokinesis, can sometimes see rainbow paths leading him when he asks for his mother's help
BIOGRAPHY:
(CW: Death)
It was a relief when someone turned up to take him away from the life where he started. His parents probably didn't even notice his absence at first, he did tend to be an afterthought compared to his older siblings. To them he simply went to school one morning and didn't come home; just another forgotten kid in a family that didn't try too hard to find them.
But camp was better, it was filled with people who welcomed him and listened. His new mom, his real mother, she was someone kind and colorful and she wanted people to know he was her son! He had siblings that didn't push him aside or blame him when things went wrong. He had a family that was better than anything he'd known before.
Very quickly he became a pinpoint of happiness around camp, a curious kid trailing along behind anyone who would let him, wide-eyed and eager. He didn't really like the training, or the thought of monsters, but he trusted the older kids when they told him that he'd learn to fight, that they'd teach him what he needed to know even if he mostly just wanted to play games and spent his afternoons painting at the cabin.
It was hard to argue with his infectious enthusiasm though.
It was enough really, he had already begun to think maybe he'd stay, join the staff, and welcome the little ones to the cabin. Maybe that really was what he was meant for more than fighting monsters. Or he'd become a messenger as one might expect of a child of Iris; see the world and take on that important task. If he could focus and stop daydreaming long enough to manage it.
Then he went on his first, and only, quest.
He believed they could do it, he really did, and that certainty never wavered. He'd been picked for a reason, after all, they all had; the gods weren't wrong. Or, he didn't think they could be, and his new brothers on the quest were flawless in his young eyes; they were already heroes so far as he was concerned and maybe he was too old at fourteen to be thinking in those idealistic terms but Isaac had always held hope closer than most.
So when they failed and one of his found family never came back Issac returned to camp without that rainbow gleam in his eyes.
The war went on, was won, and he smiled as people celebrated, always wishing that the ones who weren't there to celebrate too could be, finally understanding the monsters sometimes did win. The gods didn't always pay much mind to wishes, it seemed, not the way he'd once believed they might.
Life continued, his final few years at camp spent trying to help, turning a blind eye to the comments about his failure, an angry one towards those directed at the remainder of his quest brothers; but mostly he didn't speak much about it. He couldn't. There had to have been a million things he might have done to make it all end differently, and he hadn't. Maybe that had been the mistake, maybe the child of rainbows was never fit for what being a hero required.
He learned to slowly find the color again, he reached out to the younger kids, to the ones still troubled from their own part in the war but he couldn't quite find who he used to be.
People tried though, friends, his cabin siblings, people who remembered better than himself what his smile used to be. One particularly stubborn of the Hermes lot tried to wear down his rough edges and made it a little easier to laugh.
And then Isaac was eighteen and gone, starting art school back in the States, nineteen and an art school dropout, twenty found him a successful tattoo artist, his studio, Prismagic Ink, thriving. Twenty-three married to the person who had surprised him with a kiss one night at a campfire and never strayed from his life after.
He has a life now away from where he weighed his defeat as something that set the tone for the future. Learned to measure his happiness less on the whims of the gods and more on his husband's ridiculous jokes and his clients’ excitement over their colorful new ink. How many of his siblings fresh out of camp who weren't graced with wings by their mother had he given their own rainbow hued feathers across their back instead?
He'd lost count, but he'd found his own way to carry his mother's legacy.
With the reunion at hand he's a little hesitant, maybe even apprehensive, it feels like a million miles away from the little tattoo parlor and the life that's at the edge of more changes, but Nick was eager to catch up and see what's gone on the past few years so he’s along for the trip back, doing a little catching up of his own.

Swatches & First Impressions: Kevyn Aucoin Prismagic Highlighting Trio Palette
Tumblr media
It’s that time again for a first impressions and swatches post! Today I’m focusing on just one product, which I received yesterday. As you know, I’m a Kevyn Aucoin brand ambassador. And their latest creation is this pretty awesome holographic inspired palette. Say hello to the Prismagic Highlighting Trio palette! The colors from top to bottom: Enchanted, Illusion and Aura.
Tumblr media
The main premise behind Prismagic is that you can use it alone on your eyes, lips or cheeks for a sheer holographic look. For a bolder option layer it on top of eye shadows, blushes or even lip color to create new multidimensional effect.
Tumblr media
Initial Thoughts:
Although a pressed powder, the texture is extremely creamy, making it easy to blend. This is honestly one of the things I always love about his powders - they’re very finely milled, with no fall out. Over the past few years, having dealt with a lot of highlighters/bronzers/blushes, I’ve realized that a finely milled product is the best option because it ensures a flawless, airbrushed effect. And similar to Kevyn Aucoin’s other pressed powders, a little goes a long way. To create these simple swatches, I didn’t have to use a lot of product, I literally just rubbed each pan twice. As an aside, I’m in love with Aura (the violet purple shade) which would go perfectly for incorporating the Pantone color of the year, Ultra Violet.
The only thing that you may not like is the fact that much like the Molten Gem liquid lipsticks, the glitter factor on Prismagic is high. So, although you won’t experience fallout when applying, the glitter will most definitely stick around if you use just a simple makeup removing liquid or wipe. I highly recommend doing a double step cleanse with an oil or balm when removing this product for thorough removal.

Artwork installed in my local Phoenix coffee shop – Hava Java!
You came for the beverage, but may linger for the art. Local coffee shops that offer its regular customers a rotating art collection always impress me. It takes time to reach out to local artists, curate those that respond, and install and de-install on a regular basis. So, mixing it up for those regulars that come week after week with a new collection of art is extra-special. Double-plus that if the artwork happens to be mine for a few of those rotations!
This is the second time I’ve shown work at my local coffee shop Hava Java. I actually did a feature of the curator who I worked with at that time, Melisa Elias, an artist in her own right. You can see that here.
My first installation was all about BIG pieces, but I wanted to mix the current installation up with a few of my old favorite pieces – a few of which were painted during my time in Buenos Aires – a little while ago now.
Each piece hanging at Hava Java now has a special place in my heart. As with all artwork, each has its own origin story – which is also is in part a story of me and a place and time in my life. Please see the images below!

8 arts picks: ‘Pinkalicious: The Musical,’ Portland Youth Philharmonic concert, inclusive dance performance
Welcome to Best Bets, a weekly column in which The Oregonian’s arts desk highlights selected theater, classical music and dance performances and visual arts events. Here are our picks for May 5-11.
"Pinkalicious: The Musical"
Oregon Children’s Theatre last presented this show, adapted from a popular children’s book series about a girl who eats so many pink cupcakes that she turns pink, in 2012. Now it’s time for a new generation of grade schoolers to enjoy the sweet singing and dancing and easy-to-digest story. Come early for a pre-show activity and stay afterward to meet the cast. 2 and 5 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6-June 4, Newmark Theatre, 1111 S.W. Broadway. $14-$32, octc.org or 503-228-9571.
Institute for Contemporary Performance Fest
Catch a rising playwright from Portland Experimental Theatre Ensemble’s Institute for Contemporary Performance, whose annual festival features four stage pieces that have been in development since last summer. "Mary’s Room" explores what it means to be human; "SALT" examines King Lear’s daughter Cordelia, the loyal one; "Wake & See" focuses on insomnia; and "like nobody’s watching" dissects movies about survival-in-isolation stories. 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday, May 5-6, 2 p.m. Sunday, May 7, CoHo Theater, 2257 N.W. Raleigh St. $5, cohoproductions.org or icperformance.org/festival or 503-22-2646.
Portland Youth Philharmonic
The nation’s oldest youth orchestra wraps up its 93rd season with a couple of notable performances. Composer Debra Kaye presents the world premiere of her tone poem "Ikarus Among the Stars," commissioned in memory of Benjamin Yaphet Klatchko, an orchestra musician who died in 2015. Cellist Annie Zhang, winner of the orchestra’s 2016-17 concerto competition, performs Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto in E minor. Also on the program is Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8. 4 p.m. Sunday, May 7, Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, 1037 S.W. Broadway. Tickets start at $5 for students, $19 for seniors, $26 for adults, portlandyouthphil.org or 503-223-5939.
"Vivaldi’s World"
The Portland Baroque Orchestra closes its season with a bow to Antonio Vivaldi ("The Four Seasons") and two of his contemporaries in a program featuring a half-dozen concertos for string instruments. Italian composers Giovanni Mossi and Giovanni Battista Pergolesi share the spotlight. 3 p.m. Sunday, May 7, Kaul Auditorium, Reed College, 3203 S.E. Woodstock Blvd. Tickets start at $29, pbo.org or 503-222-6000.
Inclusive Arts Vibe Dance Company
"Dance gives me confidence to be myself and enjoy the things in life that matter to me," Arrow Bless says in a news release for the Inclusive Arts Vibe Dance Company, which creates opportunities for teens and young adults with and without disabilities to dance together. Bless and other company dancers will present five new pieces in their fifth annual performance, "Chickens and Cheese Pizza." 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday, May 5, 7 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2 p.m. Sunday, May 7, New Expressive Works, 810 S.E. Belmont St. $15 (Friday morning performance is free), dacphome.org.
"Monsters!"
Dancers and circus artists share the stage in this story about two young sisters whose shared bedroom goes bump in the night. Expect "colorful and fuzzy costumes, a tangible and wild soundtrack, hilarious dances, and thrilling aerial routines," says the press release from Prismagic. 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 17 and 24, Curious Comedy Theater, 5225 N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. $20-$25, prismagic.org or curiouscomedy.org.
White Box
White Box, the University of Oregon’s 1,500-square-foot art gallery in Portland, closes July 1. Despite years of tripping over a shoestring budget, it made an impact; former Oregonian art critic D.K. Row wrote in 2010, "White Box embraces a level of seriousness and experimentation that makes it a welcome addition to the local institutional ecology." White Box bids farewell with the exhibit "Functionally United," featuring artists such as Intisar Abioto, Pat Boas, MK Guth, Sean Healy, James Lavadour, Elizabeth Malaska, Wendy Red Star and Storm Tharp, plus many more. Opening reception, 6 p.m. Friday, May 5; on view, noon-6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, May 4-27, 70 N.W. Couch St. Free, whitebox.uoregon.edu or 503-412-3689.
Sumaya Agha
From January 2013 to July 2016, Sumaya Agha, a Portland-based photographer, spent time with Syrian refugees in Jordan and Eastern Europe. Some the images she made are now part of the exhibit "Akbaduna," which she calls "an exhibition of moments in the lives of Syrian refugee children." These are not images of pain, per se; instead they’re portraits, glimpses of kids just trying to be kids despite the world around them. Noon-6 p.m. Thursday-Saturday through May 13, Also Known As…. 7440 N. Lombard St. Free, akapdx.com or 503-307-5869.
If you would like your event to be considered for inclusion in Best Bets, email the details to [email protected].

Another Amazing Kickstarter (Prismagic Presents: Monsters by Prismagic —Kickstarter) has been published on http://crowdmonsters.com/new-kickstarters/prismagic-presents-monsters-by-prismagic-kickstarter/
A NEW KICKSTARTER IS LAUNCHED:
About this project
Risks and challenges
Running a theater company is not a get rich quick scheme! We have been making shows for 3 years and our staff/performers have been in the theater for decades so we are very well acquainted with the responsibilities and risks that come with making a big production.
Many obstacles are possible. For example it is hard to know if we will be competing with other big events in town. Another scenario is that the cost of costuming and sets/props exceeds our projection. It happens all the time. When things like this come up, we just reach deep into our pockets and make the show happen. Sometimes we have to borrow money, but we always make it work… We feel that entertainment is crucial in our community at this time to keep up the morale. You can count on us to bring you a show that transports you… even if its just for a few hours.
Frequently we have a set rate that we offer or performers, but if we don’t sell enough tickets we often end up having to pay people out of our own personal piggy banks. So one tactic we are trying out this time around is going with a percentage rate for our cast and staff. We hope this will encourage our people to advertise the show they are in so we can get more people in these seats while simultaneously protecting the Prismagic entity from falling too far into debt. We are aware that this has ups and downs and we certainly do NOT want to get a reputation as a circus that works for peanuts! So, we are working right now with the numbers to make sure that people are compensated as royally as possible.
