Although there is a good deal of evidence that gardens were very popular in mediaeval England, not much is known about methods of culture. The only general treatise of a practical nature […] is the Feat of Gardening [… which] shows a sound grasp of […] fruit trees, grapevines, the cabbage tribe, parsley, saffron, and a long series of herbs […] For the most part [… Anglo-Saxon Plantsmanship …] dealt with native plants, or a few introductions […] (not counting some trees possibly introduced in Roman times) [which] amounted to little more than a dozen species: Birthwort (Aristolochia Clematitis), Borage, Christmas Rose (Helleborus Niger), Coriander, Hepatica, Hollyhock, Hyssop, Lavender, White Lily, Paeony (Paeonia Mascula), Parsley, Rue, Saffron, Savory (? Satureia Montana) and Southernwood (Artemisia Abrotanum). The […] True Laurel (Laurus Nobilis) can almost certainly be added [as well].

medicine for knee pain in homeopathy
Joint Pain and Homoeopathy
What is a joint?
Joints are those points in our bodies where bones make contact with each other, thus, connecting the skeletal system. Click here to order online
Types of Joints:
Fibrous – Usually immovable joints.
Cartilaginous – present where a cartilage is present between the two bones.
Synovial – these joints have cavities in them which are filled with synovial fluid, thus providing free movement to our limbs.
Causes of Joint pain
Injuries- most common cause of joint pain, it can be due to fractures, stress or strain.
Heavy physical exercises can also cause joint pain.
Infections like that of dengue or chikungunya can cause pain in joints. Similarly, hepatitis C infection can lead to complications which cause joint pains.
Some autoimmune diseases like Lupus, Rheumatoid arthritis, etc. show their first symptom as joint pain.
Gout – inflammation of joints due to deposition of uric acid crystals in different locations, usually affected site is the big toe.
Bursitis – inflammation of cushioning pads around the joints.
Tendinitis – inflammation of some tendon.
Male vs female Predominance of Joint Pain
It has been shown in studies that females suffer more with joint pains than males. It has been seen that approximately sixty percent females suffer from joint pains.
The main reason behind this is linked to hormone oestrogen which is responsible for protection of cartilage. Since females have decreased estrogen levels during menstrual cycle every month as well as during menopause, therefore resulting in lesser cushioning of joints by cartilage, thus resulting in more pain.
Some Researches have shown that-
Out of all the Osteoarthritis patients, 60 percent are females in America.
Rheumatoid Arthritis occurs approximately three times more in women than men.
Women are nine times more likely to suffer from Lupus.
Women are three times more likely to have scleroderma.
Women suffer from Multiple Sclerosis two times more than men.
Symptoms present along with Joint Pain
Tenderness
Inflammation
Redness
Limited joint movement
Weakness in joints
Joint deformities etc.
Management and Treatment of Joint Pain
Try to maintain a regular fitness regime, make sure you remain physically active.
Rest as much as possible.
Hot and cold fomentation might help.
Avoid excess of red meat and organ meat intake.
Avoid sugary beverages and excess of alcohol.
See a doctor if joint pain is limiting your daily routine.
Physiotherapy is helpful in some cases.
Homoeopathic treatment.
Homoeopathy and Joint Pain
Treating joint pain is not always as easy as treating the other diseases, only massaging the joint or taking the medicines won’t help, following a proper lifestyle along with yoga and good eating habits is very important.
Homoeopathy has a lot of medicines which can help you manage your joint pains; I am mentioning some important homoeopathic medicines here:

#marasmus (learn more about marasmus) 👉👉👉👉👉👉👉 Overview:- Marasmus is a form of severe malnutrition. It can occur in anyone who has severe malnutrition, but it usually occurs in children. It typically occurs in developing countries. Marasmus can be life-threatening, but you can get treatment for it. Symptoms of marasmus:- The main symptom of marasmus is being underweight. Children with this condition have lost a lot of muscle mass and subcutaneous fat. Subcutaneous fat is the layer of fat just under the skin. Dry skin and brittle hair are also symptoms of marasmus. In children with marasmus, the following can also occur: ➡️Chronic diarrhea ➡️Respiratory infections ➡️Intellectual disability ➡️Stunted growth Seriously malnourished children may look older and have little to no energy or enthusiasm for anything. Marasmus can also make children short-tempered and irritable, but this is usually a more common symptom of kwashiorkor. Causes of marasmus:- Nutrient deficiency is the main cause of marasmus. It occurs in children that don’t ingest enough protein, calories, carbohydrates, and other important nutrients. This is usually due to poverty and a scarcity of food. Flying Ointment
Flying, hag riding or soul flight: the process of leaving one’s body and walking as a shadow, a whisp or ghost, climbing through keyholes and flying within all manners of beasts. In Polish and Slavic culture the Zmora and sometimes Kikimora were sometimes described as the soul of a living witch flying through the countryside as a piece of straw or strand of hair. How a witch goes about this is as personal as how they like their tea or ritual sacrifice. Flying ointments though are often mentioned in the same breath as witch flight, in the same paragraphs and sentences.
These rich, herbed salves are applied to the insides of the wrists, the base of the throat and often the third eye to help the witch leave her physical or First Body behind. Sometimes they were spread of brooms, and other instruments of flight. While belladonna, henbane or mandrake are often used in British formulas, the herbs described in the Polish tradition were very different:
Rozchodnik/Stonecrops - Sedum
Boże Drzewko/Lad’s Love - Artemisia abrotanum
Piołun/Common wormwood - Artemisia absinthium
Bez Czarny/Elder - Sambucus nigra
These plants were cooked in lard and fats, patiently and reverently watched until ready for use. Careful measurements, careful storage and careful application were needed, respect and gravity always demanded.
After all, witch flight is no joking manner.

I’ve been browsing seeds and perennial catalogs trying to figure out which herbs/aromatics I want to add this year
Sweet cicely myrrhis odorata is defintely in the to-add list. it blooms during the durth time for the bees. Also seems like a really great ally to get to know (whoops native sweet cicely are species of osmorhiza; myrrhis is native to Europe)
Another sweet plant I was recommend to grow is sweet fern comptonia peregrina not common locally but a staple to Rhode Island where I grew up and a native aromatic
I want to establish my artemisia bed, most of the plants I have growing around in random places so I want to bring them all together. I have mugwort artemisia vulgaris, wormwood artemisia absinthium, french taragon artemisia dracunculus, and I have seeds from the annual sweet annie artemisia annua, my favorite perrenial grower has a few others, I might consider adding southernwood artemisia abrotanum particularly a camphor cultivar.
I am also considering adding spotted bee balm monarda punctata to my patch of mondaras (scarlet and rose didyma and wild fitulosa)
And I definitely need to grow more anise hyssop agastache foeniculum it’s a favorite I don’t have enough of
I want to find some seeds to grow a patch of rabbit tobacco pseudognaphalium obtusifolium because I haven’t found any growing locally yet
I grow a little bit of holy basil ocimum tenuiflorum every year but this year I want to do I whole bed of tulsi vana ocimum gratissimum
I know I want to plant some spice bush lindera benzoin but I’m not sure where to find them.
I’ve been thinking about clary sage salvia sclarea, costmary chyrsanthemum balsamita, and true hyssop hyssopus officinalis but I’m not quite sure
I’d love to hear your favorite aromatic plant(s) especially if it’s rather unusual :)
