The party I DM for ran in to 3 behir while traveling with Comet, a red wyrmling who has been getting care for by the party for a long time now. She even calls one of the party members her dad. Or called... the encounter didn’t end well for her.

A lot of things over the course of a long battle added up to her plummeting unconscious 350ft in to white water rapids.

The party made a really great effort to save her and put some cool tricks to use. It was awesome. Unfortunately the dice were against Comet even though they were playing nice with the PCs- she lost a death save when she took damage at the end of her fall, then failed 2 more before they could heal her. They attempted revivify but in this setting specifically chromatic dragons can’t be resurrected. One of the party members can see Null, the deity of dragon death, who she considers a friend. She had to see them take Comet away.

I feel pretty damn bad. It’s a dramatic story and bad things happen, this is how the game sometimes goes, just. Damn. I really wanted Comet to make it all the way too. She wasn’t even a lightweight. We’ll see how things go. It’s going to depend on how far the party goes and what they come up with to try and bring Comet back if the pursue anything.

    Twice in one week huh? IT is Friday and I was just informed by one by a close friend of min Shon Hopwood that on Sunday's episode of 60 Minutes they will feature Georgetown Professor Shon Hopwood. Its very exciting for me as we have discussed prison reform before AND Sunday on 60 Minutes this is what he will be doing. Discussing prison reform. Lonely old man Parvonthokozimaar is the ghost of a long dead, very old gold dragon. In life he was an eccentric and powerful wizard who stood against evil in his own ways. He was also very much a dragon’s dragon. The party had to find his body hidden in his lair to ask him to act as diviner for gathering a Council of Wyrms. He gave them what they came for, as well as an earful of plenty of inconsequential bullshit.

The party beat a pit fiend tonight, but that turned out to not be their final challenge. The terrified purple dragon being kept prisoner was given some sort of order they couldn’t resist to kill them, and was set loose. It chased them up an elevator shaft. I got to play with parallax tiles and animated a dragon chasing them!

Mostly silly stuff but some cute stuff from the party breaking in to a central government lab where people of fiendish descent were being kept, since their blood is the base for a terrifying weapon used to make their soldiers powerfully psionic.

SO DES FUCKING DIED Thank fuck Dotti was next in the order and they revivified him straight away but HIS BROTHER AND BROTHER’S GF WERE ROLLING THEIR OWN DEATH SAVES 10 FEET AWAY, BADLY BURNED. But the boss got defeated a few turns later and those two got potions shoved into them

Tootz is the first copper dragon the party has really had any chance to interact with. They saw some at the battle of Hellmouth but haven’t spoken to one. She gave them a lot of reasons to probably not want to talk to any others.
