-Chaotic island #1

-Has a bunch of random stuff all around because he does not know what to do with most of it

-Funnily enough hates it whenever you move something because even though its chaotic and all over the place, he loves it a lot.

-Tries to speedrun through the game but forgets it exists and gives up a couple days in

-Only to love it a week later and then forget about it again

-Has the most random villagers and has no clue how to get rid of them.

-Marshal is his pride and joy <3

-Never plays acnh ever again once Marshal decides to move lol

-Fuma

-The cleanest and most gorgeous island you have ever seen.

-Seriously, everything is so aesthetically pleasing.

-This man has a bedroom with a queen-sized bed for the both of you

-Loves playing together and giving you sweet little gifts

-Has the cutest and most adorable villagers that fit his island

-Made an entire beach, playground and refuses to use vehicles because "it is bad for the environment"

-Dom is his favorite and he loves spoiling the damn sheep

-Knows what he is doing and does it amazingly

-Nicholas

-This guy is a bit lost

-Swears he won't like the game because it is "boring" but you catch him playing at the most unholy hours just to catch fish

-Has no clue what he is doing but somehow his island turns out ok.

-Like, he has weird and random stuff but you can tell he put a lot of work into his paths and scenery

-Will melt when you two play together like watching the stars or visiting the museum

-Date night is usually you two grinding on Animal Crossing.

-His favorite villager is Eugene because -- and I quote -- "He looks like me"

-EJ

-His first villager was Fauna and he immediately fell in love lol

-Tries his hardest but it never turns out the way he wants it to

-Gets a lot of inspiration from Fuma and sometimes even asks for help.

-Would love it if you visited and complimented his house (because he worked hard for it to look like that)

-The biggest grin whenever he catches a bug but cannot fish to save his life

-He has missed a lot of sharks because of his terrible skill

-His mission is to have every single different type of fruit without help so you can often find him on Nook-Mile islands

-Cries when Fauna tells him she wants to leave

-Yuma

-Chaotic Island #2

-This guy leaves trash around everywhere and then complains about the damn ants on his island

-Collected the ugliest villagers on purpose because he knows you hate them.

-His only decent looking villager is Marlo and he's only there because it was his very first villager so he is proud of him.

-Despite his island looking like a dangerous toxic environment, his house is really cute and pretty.

-According to him it's because he doesn't want you to feel uncomfortable whenever you visit <3

-Plants random flowers around your house whenever he visits

-Jo

-The calmest boy ever.

-Plays everyday and does his tasks like he is supposed to but at the same time makes sure all his villagers love him.

-This man once received a gift in his mailbox from Mint and almost teared up because he didn't know they could do that

-Has made it his mission to write his villagers every few days to keep the good vibes

-Funnily enough, his house is pretty empty

-It's because he places everything that's useful outside so his villagers can enjoy it more than him

-Enjoys fishing with you or decorating his island together.

-Sends you letters and cute gifts almost everyday.

-He's determined lol

-Harua

-Chaotic island #3

-Not because everything is everywhere like the other two but because it is indeed very chaotic.

-He has placed his buildings all around the damn island

-Has a random basketbal field in front of his Nook's Cranny

-Accidentally put his device in English so he has no clue whatever Tom Nook asks him to do

-Always comes to you to translate everything because he is clueless

-Has trouble understanding why his villagers want to leave but he also never speaks to them

-Except for Moe that is

-Harua loves Moe and always has long conversations with him

-Has many different pictures with just Moe and random fish in his hands

-Taki

-This man had one mission and one mission only

-An island filled with horses and it is almost exactly like that

-The only non-horse villager is Shep and he cannot physically get it over his heart to bully this dog away

-It was his first villager together with Savannah so he decided to love Shep because he was really cute

-His island is pretty normal by the way

-Just does his tasks as normal and donates things to the museum

-Always laughs whenever Blathers shows a disliking into bugs

-Likes to go to other people's islands just to annoy them

-Maki

-He is a pro at ACNH

-Makes his island look pretty and does his tasks until KK Slider has visited

-After that all hell breaks lose

-His members ask him where he gets all the cool stuff from but Maki knows about Treasure Islands.

-Sneaks the most amazing things from there and makes sure you get a copy of things he knows you'd like

-Does not tell anyone about how he gets these things and remains focused on his own island.

-All his villagers are different types of animals

-His favorite villager is Vic

-Simply enjoys his island and does not let anyone on it lmao

After a week of ACNH and about three weeks in-game, I finally got KK Slider on my island! Now all I need before I can really go ham with island decor is the Able’s shop, so I can start scanning in those sweet sweet QR codes. Paths! Clothes! Rugs! The game is my oyster!

life update + recent accomplishments, among other things

hello friends! it’s been a while. sorry for being gone for 2 weeks! ;-; i’ve been super busy and a lot has happened. here’s what i’ve been up to!

school life

SURPRISE!! i’m a grad student now :D

“oh? what are you studying, kat?”

i’m working on my (online) master’s degree in teaching for elementary education!

“but what happened to music? isn’t that what you studied in undergrad?”

i’m currently taking a bit of a detour in my career path. it’s quite hard to find a job in the music industry these days. after being a substitute teacher for a few months at the beginning of this year, i found that i enjoyed working with students, especially young ones. i realized that i have the potential to become an elementary school teacher, so i thought to myself, “hey, why not give it a try? i can always change my mind later if i don’t like it.”

“which university are you attending?”

since my program is entirely online, i will not be revealing the university for personal reasons. perhaps i’ll reveal it when i graduate! thank you for understanding :’)

“will this blog become a gradblr?”

not 100%, or at least not anytime soon. i’ll still be primarily posting and reblogging studyblr content, but i may incorporate gradblr content from time to time as i see fit. we shall wait and see!

work life

yes, i’m still working at my business-related job! i can’t believe it’s already been one year since i first started. time flies!

i’m happy to have become one of my managers’ most trusted employees, and i now perform a lot of managerial tasks and help train new employees. i hope i can continue to work hard and make them proud! ^_^

as for substitute teaching, i haven’t taught ever since the pandemic started, so...i’m in teaching limbo right now. i’m still waiting for updates, and i have no idea when i’ll get to teach again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

love life?

after almost 2 years, i finally have a crush on someone!

he is a Soft Boy™ and i really, really like him a lot :’)

how we met: we were coworkers! he resigned a few months ago due to personal reasons, but we still keep in touch.

we’ve been emailing each other back and forth for the past few months. it’s a little old-fashioned, but we both feel that it’s the best way to express everything we want to say to each other. modern love letters, i guess?

we both like a lot of the same things, especially kpop and simple things that make us feel warm and cozy~

he likes to tease me and make me blush all the time!! >.<

but most of all, i like how kind, sweet, caring, and supportive he is. even with all of his imperfections, he’s always there for me, and i’m there for him, too. ^_^

i haven’t told him that i like him, but i’m pretty sure he knows because i’ve been dropping hints everywhere lol.

one time when he went for a run in the evening, the sky was pink, and he said that he thought of me. ;-;

i’m still recovering from that message. THIS IS TOO MUCH FOR MY HEART TO HANDLE!!

he is now making something for me for my birthday. idk what it is, but i’m excited to see it when he’s done!

haikyuu is finally back!! the miya twins can slap me in the face and i would thank them!!!

all of these kpop comebacks have absolutely killed me.

stray kids’ new album? perfection.

everglow’s new title track? amazing.

blackpink’s new album? incredible.

“lovesick girls” is currently stuck in my head and playing on repeat.

nct 2020? extraordinary. i still can’t believe there are actually 23 members! but i love them all, and the two newest members are pretty cool~

my language studies are going to be put on hold for a while now that i’m back in school. i might be able to squeeze in some korean and japanese here and there, but it won’t be much. :/

i still play animal crossing! i’m very excited for all the fall and halloween stuff :D

i am doing my best to stay healthy and safe during this time, and i hope you are, too!

Things I’d like to see in ACNH updates

More items (obviously) but not just event/premium/subscription stuff, things everyone can enjoy because let’s be honest, base game items (not including colour variations) are pretty thin on the ground

More items you/villagers can interact with — dip in the hot springs anyone?? 😀

To be able to give one of your custom designs to a specific villager (sometimes you don’t want everyone to be able to wear it)

The option to move the Resident Services building for those of us with OCD over symmetry and want it to line up with the entrance from the airport 😩

To be able to add things to a basket in the Able Sisters fitting room (sometimes I want all the colours but can only wear one at a time!!)

Bushes, or at least some kind of hedge fence? Preferably with flowers you can customise the colours of 😊🌺

Different placement options for wearing flowers (hair, lapel, wrist...)

The ability to sit down on the ground like the villagers can

Maybe even the ability to lay on your stomach with your chin propped up in your hands? 🥰

Toggle on/off option for natural edges to custom paths in Island Designer

A way to invite a villager over to your house (not where they ping you and ask to come over right this second, that’s just annoying)

Maybe even the ability to arrange little get togethers with 2 or 3 villagers — not necessarily just at your house, could be a picnic, a trip to the museum, or just a stroll around the island as a group

More variety in the things villagers can say to you (seriously, the conversation repertoire got old on like day 1)

More villager quests/mini games/challenges/variation in the Nook Miles + tasks

A separate storage space for crafting materials!!! (I have a 5 room house now and I’m STILL having to bargain with myself over whether crafting materials or clothes get priority... my island is a MESS as a result 😩)

Less difficulty getting hold of the other fruits and basic colours of flowers — I must have gone to a hundred mystery islands now (not literally but close to) and all I’ve seen are pears (my island is peaches) tulips (my native) and windflowers (can get in my shop)

More plants!

The ability to water indoor plants on floor and table level (no reason, would just be cute 🥺)

More pro design templates!!! I don’t want to have to choose between a dress with long sleeves OR long skirt, and the option to do swimsuits and bottoms so you can mix and match custom outfit elements would be AMAZING

More consumables (ice cream, coffee, sweets... omg imagine if you could craft a cake or a pizza and share it in pieces with friends/villagers)

Brewster!!! But not running just a coffee shop this time — I think it’s time he expanded and hired someone to provide baked goods too!

I wish the campsite visitor could come out of their tent and actually experience/interact with the island/villagers 😔

Swimming!! I miss diving for creatures and meeting Pascal bobbing around

But also it’d be super fun if we could put special items on the water like furniture, such as lilos, rubber rings, a bouncy castle or inflatable island..!!

Some kind of secret hidden area you have to find/do things to unlock, like sea cave/grotto you can only enter from the mysterious rocky back end of the island and occasionally gets a special visitor... 🧜🏻‍♀️

I loved everything about this island. It is SO fun to visit I really enjoyed looking everywhere and discovering all the cool spots hidden everywhere. I wish I could have posted more pictures because this set doesn’t really do justice to the island.

It’s colorful, it’s vibrant, it’s funny, the path and flowers fit super well together and I’m impressed by how it was achieved given the huge number of flowers everywhere. The cliffs in the middle of the island are really fun to explore and I really laughed when I discovered the garden gnomes and the meteorite. The area upstairs with the bugs and fossils is also stunning, and the rainbow gardens are just so beautiful!

The villagers are also super sweet and the houses are really impressive. I loved your crafting room and the bedroom upstairs, it was so well put together! Every room was another discovery and it really works with the atmosphere on the island. I loved the touches of humour in a lot of areas and the island is surprisingly easy to navigate, which is really great when you visit.
