there isn't really a rational thought process to me designing stuff! it pretty much boils down to:

possessed by demons that wont leave me alone OR "i want _____ with blorbos on it and no one else is selling it for me to buy" (saiousai atm........ pain peko)

saw interesting materials that allows you to try something cool/is relevant to a character's theme or visuals (spinner -> aven's roulette!!, ripple acrylics -> water effects -> furina!!, partitioned quicksand -> would look neat in a symmetrical design... like a playing card... what about lyney and lynette!!)

i make fanmerch for fun, so it's gotta entertain me too lol. on a practical side, i would say the fact i have a boring full time job unrelated to selling at cons means i also have the motivation/luxury to make unique or obnoxious or hyper-specific items... like giant spinning charms or doujin or thermal mugs for a seven year old sleepy fandom. lol

Yesterday we got our cane and today we used it for the first time out and about, I believe it did help us not be absolutely exhausted by the end of the day, there was even a moment when someone gave us a seat in the crowded subway because they saw us leaning on both an acrylic partition and the cane, that was truly a very nice gesture.

Overall for now I would say the cane is already helping us.

It's a delicate dance of trying not to overstep while also attempting to piece together the idea of it being a normal thing to do between married people. After all, it has already been almost a year since you two exchanged your vows. At times, it can feel like you're speaking two entirely different languages - one person tuned into the present moment while the other is on another planet. 

Taehyung’s question was met with silence and he immediately started convincing himself that you just didn’t hear him properly. 

“Seokjin hyung and Mari are expecting us at the grand opening of their aqua park this weekend,” he started another conversation. “You’re not working this weekend, are you?” 

You spat out the toothpaste water before answering, “It’s this weekend already?” Your eyebrows furrowed, trying to remember the date. “I’m trying to close a client on Monday so I’d probably be working on the presentation that weekend.” You arranged your toothbrush and dental floss on the acrylic holder before meeting Taehyung’s eyes in the mirror. “You should go ahead, don’t wait for me.” 

“Yah, of course they’re expecting us to attend together,” Taehyung countered with a small pout. “We’re a married couple.” 

“Married couple?” You turned around and walked towards the shower, reaching for Taehyung’s face before tiptoeing and planting a sweet kiss on his lips. “We’re business partners, honey.”

Little chick update! Taming is going well with the reds, not so great with the Sebrights. We'll get there! Today's task is building my screen partitions for the coop so they can reside in a portion just for them, so they'll see it as home. It's actually kind of chilly this week so they won't be going out this week, but next week that's where they'll be living. I also need to install those acrylic panels I bought as windows, which may happen tomorrow depending on how long the doors take me and how much other household chores I have to do (which is a lot).

This has been one of the busiest months of my life and I am so ready to slow down a bit, I am wiped.

Aim to integrate the bookstore as part of the daily life of nearby residents. With placing a series of stools at the storefront, where visitors can sit and read, enjoying their coffee while witnessing the daily activities of its surrounding public.

In order to create a connection between the inside and the outside, a series of columns are placed to echo the existing columns in the interior. Each column is decorated with a large Jetlag logo that gives a sense of playfulness to its facade design. 

The top part of the facade featured a highly reflective stainless steel to reflect its surrounding, once again blurring the boundary between the inside and the outside. 

Once entered, visitors will first be greeted by a coffee area and encounter the book display as they move deeper into the store. This is because the coffee area is often considered as a place to socialize which is known to be more lively, in contrast with the tranquility of the bookstore at a deeper part of the store. Thus a "front shop, back "field" typology was implemented.

Pressed wood panels are often known for its budget-friendly and environmentally friendly properties which is used in this project. It's warm and softness juxtaposed with the unpainted concrete wall. This contrast can also be found in other materials such as the transparency of the acrylic and hardness of the stainless steel. As a result, provides a sense of sophistication

The term jetlag means the disorder of time and space. The design of this bookstore resonates with this term that being weightlessness. Bookshelves are created by using transparent acrylic and steel structure frames to reduce their heaviness in this small and confined space. Because of its transparency, the visual appearance of the books becomes a tangible material that can be easily replaced and altered.

The coffee area and book display area are separated by these three stainless steel shelves two of which can be rotated and formed a partition to separate the space for independent events and functions. This ultimately results in a more flexible space and allows transformation in each season.

Besides its main function of being a bookstore, Jetlag Books also offer salons and small exhibitions occasionally. In order to ensure maximum flexibility.

A large table is designed as a few separated pieces which can be connected via interlocking details. This interlocking mechanism allows customisation to occur easily. 

I really like the concept of a space that feels weightless and transformative making it flexible and adaptable for various independent events and functions beyond a space just for books. By incorporating transparent acrylic and steel structure frames, the small space feels less heavy and more open. Additionally, I found the use of rotating shelves to be particularly interesting as it not only serve as a separator between the spaces without making the area feel too confined but it also added a playful and quirky element to the overall environment. I think the shelves could be something I can maybe incorporate into my design to draw people into the store.
