still devastated that it was the mim.ic because i had started to consider that the robot!gre.gory theory meant there could be more than one gre.gory animatronic (perhaps another still controlled by glitch/van.ny/eViL CoDiNg whatever lmao)
when i saw the red eyes (before it fully stood up) i had this awesome vision of a broken fucked up human-esque animatronic stumbling out of the shadows
and then it was just the boring ass mim.ic. someone hold me.

The most embarrassing series of posts about Lawlu you will ever read: edition Dressrosa (part 7)
The soap opera in sunny Dressrosa continues! Let's take a look at Luffy's turn to act overprotective!
Tumblr media
Luffy protecting both Torao and Moocy never really gets old. Also look at the last image to the right, Luffy is doing his gatling, and I think it's the first time Law sees it. His eyes are hidden and I get the vibe he's actually impressed. I mean, who wouldn't be, gatling is one of Luffy's coolest attacks :D Luffy's is unaware of course, too focused on his task.
Tumblr media
The moment Law speaks up, no matter the chaos and screaming around, Luffy's attention is instantly directed fully towards him (the "Hmm?" bubble). That's how much he's interested in whatever Torao is going to say.
Tumblr media
"I've braced myself for this" says Law, and Luffy is so confused by that statement. He doesn't realize yet that Law needs time to adjust or get ready mentally, especially since he's so stubborn. And sometimes he just needs a push. I think Luffy will remember this and use it later, never maliciously though, but to help Law open up to new friendships heh.
It took Law a really long time to actually reach his resolve to beat up Doflamingo as well. Luffy is listening closely. If you read my analysis of Luffy and Law's friendship, you know this is the moment when Luffy might be thinking "I already knew you wanted to punch him up as well".
Tumblr media
Law is actually opening up here, it's only like two sentences but I bet it took him a lot to say it, that's how much he actually trusts Luffy. He just told him something he never really shared with people (with exception of Bepo, Penguin and Shachi). And Luffy's mesmerized face says it all. He didn't expect it, he's full of feelings, probably thanks to the trust Law shows here. Luffy never wants to hear about people's past, not even of his own crewmates, because he doesn't have to know anything to want to help them (though he occassionaly listens to his friends like Rebecca), but here it's different. He wants to know, he's interested in Law and his life, probably even his previous adventures.
Tumblr media
And again, the very moment Law speaks up, Luffy turns to him to listen. Never ignoring him. Why would he, if Law returns the favour every single time as well? Those two never ignore each other.
Also this moment is funny when put into context, because it happens soon after the enemies were shooting at them, and I guess this is the moment Trafalgar Law finally declared "Nopes, I won't tolerate it any longer, uncuff me finally". Took him long enough.
Tumblr media
Luffy here is like "You worry too much, this is an adventure, remember?", because Luffy said something similar back on Sunny when Law worried and it worked that time, so he did basically the same here. He doesn't like Law to worry so much. Sadly, that did not work this time around, I wonder why hm. Luffy clearly smiles here for Law, to cheer him up, he wasn't really smiling before, instead he was constantly in his serious mode.
Law meanwhile worries his ass off again, realizing this can't go on forever like this (he is kinda right about it). This might be also the moment Luffy realized that Law likes to overworry, but Luffy doesn't mind. Law might be way too serious, worry all the time and complain, but for Luffy he will still be the coolest person in the world. He accepts him just the way he is and likes him for that. It's the same for all Luffy's crewmates as well, so it's not that outstanding or exceptional here, but still heartwarming.
Tumblr media
They're totally on same page here. One mind.
Tumblr media
There's something special about Luffy picking up the snail that belongs to Torao and introducing himself as future king of the pirates <3
Tumblr media
Luffy: I told you not to worry!
Law: How could I have not?!
Luffy even makes sure to ask Robin how they will reach them and he does it just so Law won't worry too much anymore. Normally Luffy wouldn't even bother asking something like that.
Law is probably relieved here. Still, he scolds Luffy for his carefree attitude.
Tumblr media
Luffy caring more for Moocy and Law than himself here. Supports Law with his hand. No wonder, he carried him all the way through Dressrosa, he's probably very aware how weak Law is here so he's trying to help and support him as well.
Law's worry just went overdrive, because he realized Luffy is gonna put himself in a very dangerous spot. I guess he knows by now how much Luffy cares about people and animal companions.
Tumblr media
Luffy looks like he's kinda supporting Law there with the hand on his arm, which probably reflects the title of this chapter "palm" (one of the two possible meanings, the other is the heart key in Doflamingo's palm). He's literally holding Law here in his "battle" with Mingo.
Even Doflamingo thinks Law became "softhearted". He mocks him for sticking with Luffy, but Law's not having any of that. He's sticking with his choice to the very end, even when Mingo tries to kill him right here and now, blaming Law for being weak and dying miserably like that. Law has no way of defending himself besides his words, but he already made his choice. If anything, I think the only regret he would have would be if Luffy died here together with him.
Luffy's also alright with this, he wouldn't do anything differently, because Luffy doesn't want to live with regrets anyway. If it means he's dying here with Law, then so be it.
Tumblr media
They realized Mingo actually did save them just to mock them. They both feel extremely humiliated about it. Luffy doesn't even have to feel this way just for Law, but I think in large part he does. He didn't feel humiliated when he learned Kuma send Strawhats away to save them. He didn't feel that way either when Robin saved him in Alabasta, in fact he instead tried to thank her. But as long as Law has a grudge against Mingo, Luffy is not gonna say "thanks" to him no matter what. Sorry Mingo, you should have been nicer to Law.
Tumblr media
Yeah, poor Law, can't even complain outloud (after all he did tell Luffy to leave Moocy behind so complaining about it now would be unfair) and it feels like he's too close to other people. This can't be comfortable knowing what we know about him.
Before Kyros hopped in, Cavendish was in front and Luffy in the back, and Law in the middle. When they rode Moocy it was the same, with Luffy in front, and Zoro in the back. They keep positioning Law in the middle to protect him.
Tumblr media
Remember when Law was taken aback by Luffy's silly competitiveness and stubborness? Law's not even out of the cuffs yet but he's ready to compete in this field. To be fair, it's also because he wants again to keep Luffy out of trouble, but he's also just silly here with "Mingo is mine and mine alone to beat".
Tumblr media
And the silly competitiveness continues on. Bargaining who has bigger grudge is very mature indeed. It's honestly funny how Law wants to protect Luffy but also doesn't want to look uncool or allow him to take all the credit. Those two are hopeless. This is even funnier because Law usually *doesn't* take credit. Luffy jumps on the bandwagon ofc just because he can (or he's still overprotective towards Law, isn't he?). He's probably secretly enjoying the fact he can actually compete with Law, no matter what it's about.
Tumblr media
Luffy's concerned face here is also quite extraordinary. He worries because he feels responsible for protecting Law. Usually extra trouble doesn't even faze him. Now it does, but not because of himself, but for Law again. Those two really compete in overworrying about each other, don't they? Both afraid as much to lose the other.
Tumblr media
Look, Luffy is directly in front of Law, protecting him with his body. Meanwhile Law has enough again, because he knows he could deal with that danger easily if not for the cuffs. He also wants to protect Luffy back after all. It shouldn't be strange he goes straight to business when Robin arrives, this is constantly on his mind: get rid of the cuffs so he can get rid of the enemies here. Law sometimes proves he also has a one-track mind, suspiciously often when it involves Luffy.
Tumblr media
Again, they're on same page, matching each other's pace.
Tumblr media
Luffy is with Rebecca exactly the same way Law was wtih Robin few moments ago. One-tracked mind again. Law probably reminded Luffy he can easily get rid of the enemies and Luffy is ready to bet on that.
Tumblr media
Mirroring each other's tiredness with those huffs here. Luffy still looks pretty worried. Law meanwhile is putting up a confident front, maybe for Luffy to stop worrying over him. He would totally do something like that. Besides, he's just a show-off.
Tumblr media
Same mind, again. No more fights over who will save the other! The determination is still there, tho.
Tumblr media
Law tells Luffy to get moving and charges ahead first. But when Luffy stalls back to reassure Rebecca, Law isn't walking so fast anymore, he also changed the way he's carrying his sword. Most likely he stopped and waited for Luffy or walked slower, so that Luffy can easily catch up. If that's not a proof of him being actually a considerate person, then I don't know what this is. They agreed to do it together, so Law is just not leaving without Luffy. Luffy meanwhile runs to catch up to not make Law wait any longer.
Tumblr media
"You never listen and toss yourself into trouble, Mugiwara-ya". I could swear he says it in his mind. Luffy's a bit confused, having flashback to Ace and I'm not sure if that's sweet or heartbreaking. After all Ace was the only person in Luffy's life who cared about him like that, worrying and covering up for him. Luffy's face is saying "this is oddly familiar", but he probably didn't realize yet that he just gained another person in his life who will treat him the same way from now on (or even has been already for quite a bit).
Tumblr media
Luffy is so impressed with Law's powers. After all this is the very first time Law used it on Luffy.
Can I also just say that Law using his powers should be extremely intimidating: everything in his "room" is at his mercy and he can operate on objects and people in every possible way, but instead it's used here to show trust. Law wouldn't use his powers to harm Luffy, but he easily could have. He actually never uses his powers to hurt his allies and anyone asking him to shamble them shows trust in that. Of course Luffy wouldn't be concerned about this, because he knows and deeply believes Law to be a good person.
Law meanwhile completely refuses Luffy's compliment and instead throws it back at him "good thing you carried me so far away, I could save up my strength". Those two are insufferable like that, lol.
Luffy is so concerned when he hears Law making a painful noise <3 he's like "who hurt you?! Let me punch them!!" or "I hope you're not painful because of me!"
Tumblr media
Plotting together their strategy against Mingo. Luffy is actually listening and trying to argue back, but not very effectively, judging from his expression. Law's resolve here can't be broken. Even Luffy can be taken aback by that. Besides, he again is in his "I don't want to disappoint Law" phase.
Tumblr media
Both lowered their guard when a child approached them, ffs. And people would still doubt that Law never intended to hurt kids. He cares, it's just that sometimes he will discard that if someone else's life on the line Luffy's. But here? He's fully in his goody-goody self.
Tumblr media
And here we go, facing Mingo together. What do you mean fighting side by side isn't a love confession??
Now it's time to go all crazy for the end of this post, all brakes are off! Let's talk about Law's coat here.
Tumblr media
Yes, I did a picture case study, why do you ask?
Anyway, let's start from the left. We usually think that this symbol on Law's coat stands just for mockery of Doflamingo's jolly roger, right? But there are some things that don't truly fit. Why didn't Law just make it yellow? His own jolly roger is yellow, Doffy's jolly roger is yellow, yet the mocking symbol Law came up with is suddenly white? And why is yellow instead used only for the border of the circle? Doffy's jolly roger doesn't have an extra border like that. If Law wanted to just make it stand out more by using two different colors, then they should be reversed, right? The jolly roger yellow, the border white. And yet it's not. So it makes me think "yellow border" is an important detail.
And then I noticed that Bartolomeo also has a similar symbol on his back to Law's (on the right of the picture). An X with (his own, I presume) head over it. It kinda looks like a person doing a X pose. And Bartolomeo indeed does the X pose when he's excited over something, just look at him there. It could even refer to his setting up the barrier gesture, when he crosses his hands.
And yeah, that made me think... what if Law's symbol could be seen the same way? It's a person doing an X pose... with a strange yellow circle on his back. What could that be?
Tumblr media
Yeah, I really wonder.
There is an image with Luffy doing an X pose with his strawhat off in previous picture for comparison. You can decide for yourself if this fits or not. It's basically a person doing a X pose with the strawhat dangling on the back. Now let's put it back on:
Tumblr media
This is basically it lol. And "corazon" means heart, so yeah. Cheesy af.
Now let me quote you Oda from SBS to fill up any remaining blanks:
D: Question. On Law-san's coat, there is a logo that reads "corazan". Is this talking about the Cora-san that Law loves? Is Law's coat specially custom made?
Oda: Yes. So, to be specific, the coat reads "Corazon (corazón)" rather than "Cora-san". In Spanish, this word means "heart". While this is in fact straight up Cora-san's code name, it can be said that there isn't really a problem with the captain of the "Heart Pirates" wearing this coat either. Even speaking ability-wise, Law is a "death surgeon" known with his unique skill of cutting people's' "hearts" out. While to society, it may seem like a symbol of fear and power, I'm quite positive that Law himself had "Cora-san" in mind. It's definitely custom made.
Few things to note here:
Law's clothes are custom made. I think that means he makes them himself. That's why they can have feathers and his jolly roger plastered all over them.
For Law it's important that his clothes refer to his own crew and that his jolly roger is always present on his clothes. It's his pride as the captain! So the "Corazon" stands also for "heart" as in "heart pirates". Seems he cares a lot about that, just look how Oda phrased it: "there's no problem with a Heart Pirates captain wearing a coat with Corazon word spelled out" because heart=corazon. Meanwhile it would be problematic if the captain wore a logo that doesn't belong with his crew, right? For Law that would be no good, he has a reputation to uphold!
Since he has his captain's pride to uphold, he can't make a direct reference to Luffy on his clothes. He hides it instead and makes stupid references that can be understood in more ways than one, but probably he's the only one who gets it.
That's why his coat actually serves three purposes: 1. His dedication to his own crew as their captain 2. mockery to Doflamingo, hoping it could work to provoke him 3. homage to Luffy, because someone is smitten beyond human comprehension, but will hide it in plain sight.
And let's cover the last track left: Law didn't yet have his coat on when they arrived at Dressrosa. Luffy already made his excited X pose when they stepped out and Law is there to witness it (two pictures above). Law's group is also the last to leave (Luffy is deep in his fight in collosseum before Law's group with Robin and Usopp are ready to go, and the meetup was somewhere around noon or later in Green Bit. Remember, it was 8 hours after their early morning ransom call!). In other words, Law had plenty of time to prepare his clothes. He either used thread and needle (a surgeon is probaly quite good with needle work, right?) or painted it, doesn't matter. Point stands. It is freaking possible.
And now I'm satisfied because I found a reason why the circle had to be yellow. Ahahaha. Hope you enjoyed my craziness, but please tell me it doesn't fit. It does, doesn't it?

Does anyone actually like the whole "this total loser is the chosen one" thing?
You start playing some new game. Immediately, you are introduced to the protagonist. He's a total deadbeat loser idiot who has no greater ambition in life beyond playing games/becoming a cool rock star somehow without learning to play an instrument or form a band/watching some TV show. But through just the absolute sheer dumb luck of being in the right place at the right time, he gets The Thing, that lets him do main character in a video game stuff. Much to the frustration of this cool competent badass woman who's actively invested in saving the world and has a concrete plan to do it. Our accidental hero can't be bothered to care about any of that, and any time she's talking he either tunes out completely or sexually harasses her. Then once she eventually gives up trying to explain him he says something like "now here's the part where I do my thing!" and you jump into the action of doing 3 hit combos to enemies or whatever.
I hate that character. I can't stand him. His presence makes me not even want to touch a game, which is a real shame because I swear the paragraph above describes like... half of them. Also most shonen anime come to think, the bulk of superhero media, and a surprising amount of fantasy stuff.
Now, I understand why we have that guy. The thinking is, he's "relatable." We're making a not particularly challenging piece of escapist media, we're assuming most people who are going to be interested are losers who just sit on their couch all day, and we're also assuming they're at-least-mildly-creepy dudes even when demographic info suggests a given genre/medium appeals primarily to women.
Does anyone actually want that, though? I'm not some pathetic dude on a couch, so I probably wouldn't get the "he's just like me!" factor regardless, but like, I remember being a small child and having media constantly cram some annoying piece of garbage kid into everything for me to "relate to" and I was never able to stand any of them either.
Like if I'm watching Transformers the Movie as a kid, I am just rolling my eyes every time we have the dorky little kid going fishing or trying to use power armor, and for that matter as an adult I'm not too big on the pink girly one playing babysitter and being flirty. I'd be cool just giving all that screen time over to Kupp and Grimlock thanks.
And really, it always seems like a huge insult to whoever you're trying to give a relatable stand-in to. Some deadbeat loser who'd just be sitting on the couch watching TV if he didn't get a magic yo-yo or whatever isn't exactly an aspirational sort of character. Even if that's where you'd picture yourself at the start of the cool action narrative, if it were you, you'd want to get your act together and live up to the heroic role you fell into, right?
Like, recently I've been marathoning through Farscape for like the 5th time because a friend had never seen it, and there's a show where the protagonist is just a big fish out of water nerd in a crazy setting constantly making obscure pop culture references that absolutely nobody else is possibly going to have the context for, and I can sure as hell personally relate to that! But the key difference is, he doesn't suck. He does his best to adapt to situations and show compassion and actually learn how stuff he doesn't get works, so he's, you know, likeable. He's not some complete loser who only gets by because he has the spoon of destiny or whatever.
Actually come to think of it, I'm really combining two separate media trends I can't stand here. Loser protagonists get on my nerves even when they aren't the chosen one, and even when they aren't a total loser, I kinda hate chosen one narratives too.
Like... have you ever played a Bethesda game? They always want to do this whole bit where you come from the humblest of roots and go on to save the world or whatever, but they just cannot for the life of them wait until you've actually started accomplishing cool stuff before everyone starts in with the totally over the top hero worship. Just, "behold! This stranger to our lands has picked up the empty soda can and tossed it in the recycling bin! Truly such a feat of heroics means this is no mere mortal before us, but the great one foretold in legend!"
Like, can we please just have narratives where the protagonist is a decent person, who accomplishes things by virtue of actual competence and/or determination, and any respect or admiration they might receive is actually properly earned? Is that too much to ask? And if that IS too much to ask from a protagonist, can we at least stop treating members of the supporting cast who pick the slack up like total garbage?
And speaking of getting treated like garbage/the concept of supporting, I still don't know how I'm going to get through the winter with a roof over my head.

So, to counteract the brain rot I'm experiencing from cc1, I picked a book off my shelf I haven't read
The Wall by William Sutcliffe is a story set in the fictional town of Amarias, Occupied Palestine about a settler boy who crosses the Wall that separates his town from the forbidden territory of the enemy
From what I can tell William Sutcliffe is a British YA author so by no means am I suggesting The Wall as primary or secondary reading for learning about Palestine or supporting Palestinian artists. I have this book because I bought it years ago (it was published in 2013)
My thoughts so far on Part One (pg 1 - 62)
For Context Joshua sneaks into a "disputed" area to retrieve his football and finds the entrance to a tunnel that goes under the high wall that separates his brand new town from "the enemy"
(to clarify Joshua is an Israeli boy who lives in a settlement in the West Bank, not technically "Israel" but rather Occupied Palestine - the whole thing is but I hope you get what I mean)
The narration style took a little for me to get into since I think it does a good job of feeling like Joshua's 13 year old POV at times then slips into being clearly the adult voice of the author at others
I like that Sutcliffe doesn't pretend at Joshua's total ignorance to paint him as innocent, Joshua because of the nature of settler life is aware of some things but can't quite understand the full scope
[When describing the "disputed" area and the demolished house he finds there]
It's a feeling I can't quite understand, something to do with the obvious suddenness with which this place was transformed from a home into a heap of junk. An eerie chill seems to be rising up from the rubble. It's as if an aftertaste of violence is hanging in the air, like a bad smell.
...
Even from up here, I can see that the possessions spilling out of the house never belonged to people like us. This was the home of people from the other side. The mystery isn't what happened to them, it's how they found themselves on the wrong side of The Wall in the first place, and why the site hasn't been cleared and built on.
The contradictions don't jump out at him but he is subconsciously aware of them
The Wall was put up to stop the people who live on the other side setting off bombs, and everyone says it has done an excellent job.
Most people who work on the building sites in Amarias are from the other side, and if you drive to the city you see lots of people who look like they come from those towns, but other than that, even though they're living next door, it feels like they aren't really there.
Actually, that's not right. You know they're there because The Wall and the checkpoints and the soldiers who are all over the place are a constant reminder, but it's as if they're almost invisible.
After crossing and being chased by a group of older boys then saved by a girl who can speak Hebrew
I'm not, in truth, very far away at all. Probably only a few hundred metres. But I'm in another world.
...
It all feels strangely normal yet exotic, and odd to think this place has always been here, so busy and so alive; so close but invisible.
The girl borrows him her father's keffiyeh and her brother's flip-flops so he can walk back to the tunnel without being spotted as a settler
The scarf lent by the girl who saved me, and even though she asked for the simplest thing in return, I gave her nothing. Worse than that, I now see that I have stolen from her[...]
Joshua manages to get home to the house he shares with his mother and religious fundamentalist stepfather. (many settler groups are often part of stricter religious sects and a clear distinction is made by Joshua between his Dad who was a mostly secular reservist killed in action and his step-father who is a staunch settler and much more religious)
When Joshua asks Liev, his step father, about the forbidden territory, Liev tells him it is disputed but when Joshua asks by who Liev says 'No one.'
Then the same night he returns from the other side Joshua takes out a miniature town he built. His actions mirroring the actions of colonial settlers, he subconsciously understands there's no real fear or righteousness - the 'war' and it's propaganda are manufactured - the truth is much more methodical
I stand over the fantasy town, gazing down at it. Along one edge is a wall, the same height as the tallest house. [...] I remember the afternoon I added in the wall, years ago, taking up hours getting it to the right height and making it solid. There's even a watchtower in one corner, made from the inner tube of a toilet roll topped with a yoghurt pot which is usually filled with soldiers. Now for the first time it strikes me as strange that I put this wall at the edge, with nothing on the other side of it.
[...]
...I don't feel angry or destructive as I'm doing it, but slowly and deliberately, I lift a leg and step onto a cardboard house at the heart of the town. One by one, I calmly crush all the others that are made of cardboard. Two are made of balsa wood. Those I pluck from where they are glued into place, and squeeze in my hands until they shatter. [...] Then dismantle the Lego houses, brick by brick. There's also a police station.[...]Then there's the school and the park and the shops...
Interesting so far.
*
On a less humorous not than how I started, I have seen sjm out and about being celebrated by crowds of dozens of people for the launch of cc3 and beyond my own disappointment at fairly predictable spoilers I've seen, it bothers me that at a time like this when so many are aware of the Occupation and SJM's own Zionist leanings, she can still be celebrated by so many people (many of them being poc)
Idk, it just bothered me so I picked The Wall off my shelf to especially counteract the underlying pro-Zio vibes in cc

The pit is full of so many different types of snakes. Like it's not just 'cobras'. Which makes you wonder why he named his dojo cobra kai. (Also half of these snakes look like pet snakes) One even falls off the edge and lands on the others.
Tumblr media
Johnny's turn to kick open a door. And his second time finding someone whose being a dick to him training his son.
Tumblr media
Kreese "what took you so long" assuming Johnny's coming back. Not pissed because he's probably not aware that his students broke in and attacked people at the LaRusso home.
Three generations of Cobra Kai. Kreese literally thinks he's a grandpa.
Kreese's second: This is your last chance Johnny, really.
Robby saying: Listen to him dad not knowing what's going on
Tumblr media
This is literally what Kreese tried on Miguel. To tell him that Johnny was just a little lost and together they'd help him.
Robby: Why are my dad's always fighting?
Also to Robby it totally looks like Johnny just came in here and starting beating up an old war veteran. Robby has 0 context and this is the only guy who has ever said anything positive about Johnny, so he's probably so lost and confused and upset. I mean sometimes Daniel would say something but he nearly always changed his tune.
Confirmation that Kreese has nunchucks on the walls. Johnny grabs a single Sai.
Because of Robby's don't do it, Johnny drops the sai.
I feel like Johnny should've tried to warn Robby, after Kreese started mentioning how messed up it was that Robby was studying under Daniel. Like Robby knew about Daniel but nothing about Kreese.
Tumblr media
This is pretty much what William Zabka's character Scott McCall says to his father in the Equalizer, which has got to be weird being on the receiving end of similar lines.
Sensei Kreese is right. I can't be my own worst enemy. But you can be.
Robby literally decides to fight Johnny and Johnny is pretty much just block and telling him to stop it. But Robby's had it so rough and is so confused and doesn't know the context other than every time he finds a home and a new father figure his old father figure shows up and tries to fight his adopted one.
Johnny's making this look easy. Literally just lifting up his foot and stepping out of the way. "I won't fight you"
Robby calls Johnny weak and Johnny looks so tired.
Who put those metal lockers there? It's as bad as the damn rock. That was a total accident. Adding it to the list of accidents that caused the absolute worst results. Robby even makes a soft little cry/sob when he hits it.
Johnny immediately rushes to his side trying to get his attention and apologizing.
I think Johnny's internal count down of "I didn't fuck up" had been growing and he'd been so proud because of what Ali said and it literally just restarted at 0.
The captain says Kreese couldn't shed his humanity and it distracted him from the war. I feel like what they're trying to do with this is Kreese accidentally killed a fellow soldier, had to kill his captain and he's been trying to make up for it ever since by trying to instill that cold the world is war mindset of his captain because he failed once. And he'll never do that again.
He grabs a piece of bamboo from the bridge he's on and stabs his captain in the leg with it. His captain ends up holding onto the edge of the bridge after a few punches and kicks.
Kreese in present day grabs a sai, pulls Johnny away from Robby who has a bit of blood on his forehead but for a headwound not much blood and just seems to be unconscious.
Kreese stomps on his captains feet after they've been saved, dropping him into the snake bit to be killed by the fall and the snakes.
Johnny kicks the sai out of Kreese's hand but Kreese gets Johnny in a headlock again.
Daniel kicks Kreese off of Johnny. "You sent them to my house? You came after my daughter?"
I hate to say this but I don't know if Kreese actually sent them to Daniel's house, or how they would've known they were all there. As much as I love Daniel kicking Kreese's ass and saving Johnny.
Tumblr media
Daniel spotting Robby knocked out in the corner.
You can't keep up this defense only shit forever. | Good thing I don't have to.
YESSSSSSS
LOL Kreese just picking Daniel up and running through the frosted front glass windows.
Like Kreese why would you destroy your own windows?
Also this means Kreese is barefoot on the cement surrounded by glass.
It's raining again, it rained when they went to try and pick up Robby from juvie.
Daniel kicking Kreese's ass, seeing Johnny, looking surprised and Johnny nodding to him. Like yes, go ahead and take him out.
Tumblr media
Cockblocked from murder by their kids take 2 this time Miguel and Sam.
Daniel in white, Johnny in black. Keep your cobra kai's away from our kids.
Miguel checking in on Johnny and asking if he's okay. 🥺
Tumblr media
Even though I'm pretty sure Johnny's covered in the least amount of blood.
Tumblr media
Robby directs his get out of her initially at Daniel even though Daniel wasn't there when he got knocked out. and the all of you at literally everyone else.
Tumblr media
Really Robby's got some thick skin, his forehead gash should be much worse, that's like a scratch. And he was just knocked out a little longer than his father.
Kreese literally saying Son to Robby while staring Johnny down.
Kreese releases all the prisoners and they all run for freedom except for Silver who stops and hugs him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You think Kreese has ever hugged anyone other than Silver since Betsy died?
I owe you man. You saved my ass. Anything you need...I'm there for you. Your whole life. You hear me Johnny? Your whole life! I owe you (unbeknownst the messy bff break up coming up in a few seasons 🤣)
Side note, do you think Silver grew out his hair and kept it in a ponytail out of guilt for their other friend who died?
Another hug after that declaration
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's smiling when he says this, which makes it sound like Silver answered but when we see Silver he's ignoring his calls and dramatically playing piano in a fancy robe.
Tumblr media
oh i forgot they ended the season with the merge
Also this is Daniel's first time wearing his hachimaki from Mr. Miyagi in the series.
Wait a second
Tumblr media
Aren't the two tall guys in the shade Cobra Kai's? Where's your other fighters? Though I see the shorter red is back. There he is
Tumblr media
He was hiding behind Sm, the kid who took a vase to the head and tried to save her from Tory or slow Tory down.
Literally all the students are happy and smiling as the Eagle Fangs join them in the worst dojo yard ever, finding their ways next to their friends.
Tumblr media
Mitch eventually re-betraying Chris kinda makes this hurt.
Tumblr media
This season finale was so satisfying. Because Johnny and Daniel working together, realizing they needed to work together, that they had more in common then differences, and merging their dojo's was like what it'd been building up towards.
Tumblr media
I still love it. Even though I know they become dumbasses again as soon as the next season starts.

Series Masterlist
"Good job you two! This is all yours now.”
Dream had led you and Eret back to the castle, all of them still battered and bruised from the war they recently had. You had already taken off your armor and now you were wearing underneath your L'Manburg outfit that was torn and burnt showing some of your skin which was also burnt or cut. You had noticed on the way to the castle that Dream had kept on looking at the outfit that Eret and you had on with disgust, like a taunt.
You could finally relax in the huge castle that you apparently deserved because you and Eret had taken the first lives of the citizens of L'Manburg. In your heart you knew that L'Manburg was still a country. They all have two more lives and they will build the country up again with those two lives. You sighed then kept walking into the throne room. you looked at the two big thrones that sat next to each other. One for a king and one for a queen.
"Why are you standing there? Sit down! Relax!" Dream patted one of the thrones.
You and Eret had sat down on the thrones next to each other looking around the huge throne room and Dream smiling right in front of them. Once you both sat down you tried to sit up straight, but you wanted to slump down into the comfy, plush, velvet and gold chair. The two of them sat on velvet and gold thrones while in burnt and torn L'Manburg uniforms. It was a sight to see, and if someone didn't know the context of what just happened, this scene would've made sense to them.
"I'm happy you did this. You deserve all of this." Dream said while walking along the marble floor.
"It's beautiful, but I'm exhausted." You let your head fall to the side. You sighed wanting Dream to leave so you could finally get some rest.
"I bet."
"Eret are you okay?" You spoke up after Dream.
Eret had a look that you couldn't make out. He just stared off into space in his own mind. He shook his head after you called for him again.
"Yeah, yeah I am fine. I'm just thinking." Eret quickly responded.
"What are you thinking about?" Dream said in a monotone voice.
"If we did the right thing." Eret sighed.
You slowly nodded because you were thinking the exact same thing. They were traitors, you had built somewhat of a connection with those people you helped kill. And now what? you're living in a huge castle and apparently you "Shouldn't be feeling this way", Dream claimed.
"You two are overreacting. They are fine." Dream said bluntly while staring at them with a straight face.
That was a huge lie, their lives were taken today. They're not just “fine”.
"You two were never a part of that place anyways. This is your home! Why would you need to wear those hideous colors? They look bad on you, it's unflattering. There is no need to go back." Dream explained.
You hang your head not knowing what to say to the man, there wasn’t really anything to say but you spoke up hoping the words will come to you.
"I don't-"
"You don't have to say anything, it's okay. You're safe now. Did you get hurt?" Dream asked.
The bruises and scars said differently.
"Remember when I said that?" Dream pushed the question.
You rubbed a burn mark on your wrist and laughed a bit. "No! Actually I don't. We're safe now, but that doesn't mean we aren't hurt." You chuckled in disbelief.
"Well maybe if you listened to me you wouldn't be so anxious. If you listened you wouldn't have been so hesitant. You're safe." Dream said sternly.
"Maybe you're tired, Dream. We're all tired. Shall we go to bed?" Eret stood up and held out his hand to help you up from your seat.
You accepted his hand and started to follow Eret through the huge castle making your way through the huge, high ceiling halls. The three walked towards the king's and queen's room in the castle, Dream kept a slower pace and walked behind the two wanting to get one more word in before leaving the castle.
"If you two are ever in doubt just remember that you are on the right side of history." Dream said then turned around to leave the two alone.
You both stopped and turned around to see Dream’s back facing the both of you as he walked away. You and Eret eventually made it to your new bedrooms. There was a big door which held a huge room made for the both of them to sleep in and two separate rooms next to the bigger door which were made for one person. Eret and you stood in front of the bigger door staring at the intricate designs on the door not speaking to each other.
"So?" Eret laughed.
"So!" You exclaimed while chuckling.
"Are you okay sleeping in that huge room tonight?" Eret asked.
"I'm not totally comfortable with that, but it would be weird if we slept in the same bed. Don't get me wrong! You're a great friend, but-"
"Y/N/N stop! I'm okay with that too. I wasn't looking to sleep in the same bed. Yes we're married, but we're just staying friends, hey we might get a divorce later." Eret explained.
"If I do, we won't be king and queen anymore." You said softly to your husband.
"Is that what you want? To be "queen"?" Eret asked while putting air quotes around the word queen.
You paused for a moment then answered his question.
"I don't know where I'm supposed to be, Eret." You looked up at him sadly and he pulled you in for a hug. It took you everything you had to not cry into the L'Manburg uniform Eret was wearing. Today drained you mentally and physically, your hands were raw from shooting arrows, you had burn marks on your skin and your feet hurt from running through the kingdom. You weren’t sure about where you would go, because this didn't feel like your home.
"Let's go to bed and we'll talk in the morning. Rest on it because I'll happily divorce you so you can find your place in this huge kingdom." Eret laughed and let you out of his arms.
You chuckled and then let him go walking into what was supposed to be the queen's room and right next to it was the king's room which they both walked in after saying goodnight and closing their doors finally having time to themselves after a long day.
You finally took off the L'Manburg uniform and laid it on a velvet chair in the corner of the huge room. You stared at the uniform before going to the nearest closet and picking out something to wear for that night. The queen's room was basically the huge couple's room that you found before, but just with a smaller bed. There were still trinkets, jewelry and even clothes in the closet. you took a nightgown out of the closet and sat on the plush bed. You ended up laying down staring at the high ceiling thinking of the predicament Eret's question brought.
You finally retired for the night and crawled into bed and got under the soft covers. The window was open so a soft cool breeze was blowing through the room letting the curtains flow with the breeze. If you left you wouldn't have anywhere to go except back to L'Manburg, they would never let you back even if you tried. They probably hated your guts by now, so maybe divorcing wasn't a good idea. You had a set home here, you had food, clothes, and you weren't under attack every minute. you didn't have to watch your back for any enemies.
Your mind slowed down as you finally lulled yourself into a deep sleep forgetting the troubles in your mind for only a moment.
-------------------
The sunset fell over the horizon making it a gold, red color. It was beautiful. The trees were illuminated and the lakes had a certain glow to them. you could see mobs began to crawl out of the ground and caves, but you was safe up here.
You looked down and saw the familiar obsidian walls. It seemed like a faint memory, but in reality the walls were real. It was like you could feel the stone underneath your feet at this moment. you could see inside L'Manburg.
you saw Tubbo and Tommy laying in the grass talking to one another. you saw Fundy sleeping in the grass next to them. There were two new faces you had never seen before. It was a woman with short pink hair and another man with a shaved head. It might've been your mind putting people in your dreams to fill space. Then you saw Eret sitting by a small river letting his bare feet flow in the water. It was a peaceful scene.
"Beautiful sunset isn't it?" A voice showed up beside you.
It was Wilbur. He had his uniform on, it was clean like the war didn't even happen.
"It is really beautiful." You agreed watching the sun continue to lower over the trees.
"You know everything the sun touches is yours? It's all of ours. It just so happens that you can see the sunset and sunrise from L'Manburg. You can do anything as long as you see the sun rise and fall." Wilbur said, keeping his gaze soft at the sunset.
You hummed but stayed quiet admiring his words and the sunset.
"Let me tell you what I wish I'd known when I was young and dreamed of glory. You have no control who lives, who dies, who tells your story. After you took one of my lives away I understand now. You can't control other people and their motivations."
You hang your head in disappointment, but then Wilbur continued.
"But I know that we can win. I know that greatness lies in you, but remember from here on in that history has its eyes on you. History will forever have its eyes on you no matter what you do." Wilbur looked into your eyes as the sun set on the two of them the stars began to shine.
The light brown eyes Wilbur had turned darker because of the sunlight being gone. You looked out back at the mobs in the forest and the huge towers in the sky made the kingdoms members. you turned around and looked into L'Manburg. Or what was considered L'Manburg.
There was no one there anymore, instead of people there were huge amounts of TNT that filled the walls behind them. you could hear faint voices around them, people that you didn't know. It sounded like chaos. you whipped your head around to Wilbur who was dressed in a brown tattered trench coat, brown pants, and a white shirt instead of the L'Manburg uniform.
He had a cigarette in his mouth and matches in his hands. He smirked at you as the voices around you got louder and your head sounded like you were in the middle of a tornado. your head was buzzing as your eyes couldn't focus on Wilbur in front of you. It felt like these moments were happening right in front of your all at one time.
"You want to be a hero Tommy?"
"You know if I die, this country goes down with me."
"if respect is the only thing protecting you from a knife in the back, then respect is nothing, right?"
"Kill me, Phil. Phil, kill me, Phil kill me! Phil, stab me with the sword, murder me now, kill me! Look-"
"You know Y/N" Wilbur started next to you. He lit a match and turned around to L'Manburg which was now filled with TNT.
"Somethings. Somethings were never meant to be." He threw the match into the huge pile of TNT and all in a second the obsidian underneath your feet disappeared as you fell into the explosion beneath you.
-------------------------
"Fuck! Where am I?!" You shot up from your sleeping position in a cold sweat.
You frantically felt around the bed trying to convince yourself that you were physically at the castle in your bed. You finally caught your breath and laid back down in your bed finding yourself staring at the ceiling again. Even with the window open blowing cool air into the room, your skin still felt hot. You ended up tossing the covers off of you and making your way towards the entrance of the kingdom to get some air.
That dream was so much stuff in it you couldn't comprehend all of it. It was like Wilbur was there as if he was talking to you directly and it wasn't a dream and it made you second guess yourself and think that it may have not been a dream. You finally made it outside and sat on one of the steps that led people up into the kingdom. you sighed and breathed in the fresh air and it immediately relaxed your body and mind. You were alive, you were here and sadly Wilbur wasn't there. You closed your eyes and felt the breeze around you until you were startled by a figure beside you.
"You're up late. I thought you said you were mentally tired." Dream chuckled sitting beside you.
"I had a bad dream." You sighed.
"Hey don't take my name in vain like that" Dream laughed trying to bring up your mood.
Dream sighed and stood back up when he didn't get a response from his companion.
"Come one, let's go. Let's get your mind off of the one bad dream." Dream held his hand out, gesturing to you to take it.
You took his hand and then released it letting him lead the way to wherever the wind may take them. The dream is currently still stuck in your head. The voices from different people confused you and made your head spin.
"You want to be a hero Tommy?" What did that mean? Was someone threatening Tommy? Will someone threaten Tommy? You grew to care for that kid.
Who said "If I die, this country goes down with me"? What country. L'Manburg?
"If respect is the only thing protecting you from a knife in the back, then respect is nothing, right?" That one stumped you the most. you didn't even know if this was being spoken to you or to someone else. All of them except for the Tommy one.
Were they all even dreams? The one that haunted your mind the most was the one where someone was telling a man named Phil to kill them. Were you there for that moment? Did Phil kill the person? Who was Phil? All these thoughts and questions plagued your mind so much that your feet mindlessly carried you wherever Dream led you to.
"Here we are." Dream led You on top of a hill, a tall enough hill to see the main attraction. The place you missed the most, L'Manburg.
Tears started to form in your eyes and you tried blinking them away. All the moments of that dream appeared in your brain, but even stronger. you never felt these emotions before. Maybe L'Manburg was your home all along. you missed seeing Tubbo, Tommy, Eret and Fundy doing their own thing while your and Wilbur had a deep talk inside the van. you had spent weeks with them growing too attached to them and then ended up becoming a traitor.
"That place. You never belonged there. You're too good for them." Dream started and you stayed quiet watching the stars begin to disappear.
"Do you trust me?" Dream asked.
You stayed quiet not having the answer he wanted to hear. He wanted to hear you say that you trusted him when in reality you couldn’t, you weren't fully there yet, not anymore.
"They lied to you. It's not your home." Dream continued on letting you listen and not talk.
"How did you know if someone said it was my home or not?" You asked, startled.
"I might've been keeping an eye on you. I wanted to make sure my flower was okay." Dream kept his gaze on L'Manburg.
"Stop calling me that." You sighed.
"I never started. This was the first time I said that. Who called you flower?" Dream suddenly got serious, staring at you.
you kept your sights on the obsidian walls, not sparing him a glance. The stars began to fade and the sun peeked over the horizon. As they stayed longer the sun rose over the walls of L'Manburg. You started to remember the words in the dream you had.
"You know everything the sun touches is yours? It's all of ours. It just so happens that you can see the sunset and sunrise from L'Manburg. You can do anything as long as you see the sun rise and fall."
L'Manburg stands for independence. Independence. That word kept ringing through your head like a mantra until a few voices below the hill and near the walls alerted you.
"HEY! Hey Wilbur! Give me back my shit!" Tommy yelled as he stomped after the older man.
"Wilbur get Tommy to stop shouting and give him his swords back please!" Fundy yelled trailing behind the two.
"No not until he learns not to go start stabbing shit!" Wilbur yelled back at the other two.
You missed that. you missed the bickering and the nonsense they all shared. you were upset that Tommy still hadn't learned his lesson and you wished you were there beside them at that moment.
Dream spoke up giving you a look you couldn’t quite get. "You are never allowed to step inside those walls again.
"What gives you the right to tell me what and what not to do? Who does that make you? Who do you think-"
"YOU ARE NEVER ALLOWED TO GO IN THOSE WALLS!" Dream yelled getting dangerously close to you.
You continued to stare at those blue eyes as the bright sun rose over the dark walls of L’Manburg. you didn't say anything but descended down the mountain alone with the sounds of Tommy, Fundy, and Wilbur bickering in the background, wishing you were there and not next to the man next to you who was staring at you angrily.
"I know what’s good for you! I know what's good for this country! Just trust me Y/N!" Dream yelled starting an argument
"Would you calm down! You came here to be all quiet and now you're yelling at me. You might want to be quiet before Wilbur hears you. Or do you want me to get him myself?" You yelled back, getting furious.
"Oh you wish! He doesn't care for you as much as me, Sapnap and George do! They agree as well!"
"Don't put words into his mouth!" You accused
"Oh! So if he cares so fucking much he would've help save you. And do you know what would happen if he saved you?! You would've died! I saved you! You were in a perfect situation and all you had to do is not complain! You're always overreacting." Dream ended with a huff and rolled his eyes while turning away..
you were speechless at this point. Overwhelming emotions consumed you. you couldn't believe you were overreacting. Maybe Wilbur wasn't everything you needed. you were overreacting, you were being selfish too. Dream was right. Dream walked over to you pulling you in a hug with L'Manburg was still in your sights.
"I did everything because I love you. You're too precious for them, you're not for them. They don't deserve you, you deserve someone who wants the best for you. A flower that needs a home and I'm here to give it to you." Dream softly explained.
Your eyes kept tearing up at the words and different emotions flowing through you. The sights on L'Manburg make your memories and questions come back. Where did you belong? But more importantly who was telling the truth?

just for fun, character analysis for Jerk? what about them is so appealing?
😍😍😍 It's been a hot minute since I've ranted about these two, huh?
I love the initial shock factor of the size difference. He's a massive polar bear, she's a tiny beetle. This was literally the thing that made the ship in the first place. I told @bitter-sweet-coffee we need to ship Jewel with one of the 6 foot tall Power characters because the size difference would be so delightfully jarring, and Izzy fucking delivered. 😂
But, they've got their similarities: the big one being they're both the impulse control to their crazy best friends (or at least they TRY to be). These two could relate SO HARD to the stresses the other has suffered thanks to the struggles of keeping Bean and Tangle alive. 😂 They also, if you choose to translate Bark's mutism as a symptom of social anxiety like I do, both suffer from some amount of anxiety, so they could provide some amount of understanding and comfort to each other on that front too.
Jewel could be scared of Bark upon first meeting him (we're exploring this aspect in my fic When the Day Met the Night, if you're new here and this is your first time seeing this ship or my antics 😂), but she'd come around when she realizes what an absolute gentle sweetheart he is. Like his and Amy's interaction in IDW, but with a romantic context, because I cannot foresee a situation where Bark WOULDN'T like her to some degree upon first meeting her. She's just too sweet and cute. 😂
They're a well deserved break from their usual crazy associates. While Jewel WOULD end up being the crazy one of the two (we'll get into why in a bit), she can't hold a candle to Bean or Fang, neither one of them can even come close to Bean or Tangle's antics, so they can actually relax for once and not have to be constantly on guard for something to explode or for Tangle to fling herself head first down a pit of spikes. And, if they're together and something crazy DOES happen, they know they can count on each other for back up. They're both used to this shit.
And both of them would complete each other so well if they were a couple, or at least friends. Bark gains a voice, figuratively AND literally. I've joked before Jewel's the "they asked for no pickles!" One of the couple, but she totally is. If she's not protesting to a situation/plan of action/how someone is treating Bark because it's what she'd say in that situation anyway, she's doing it specifically for Bark. She knows what he would say in that situation if he could (mostly because it lines up with what she would say herself anyway), and so she'd ensure Bark's heard by saying it herself. Doesn't matter if she succeeds or fails, Bark would appreciate being heard either way.
As for Jewel, she gets a spine, essentially. Much needed confidence and bravery when the going gets tough. As I mentioned before, Bark is HUGE. We've seen him go toe to toe with KNUCKLES on several occasions in the comics, the guy's a powerhouse. And he's significantly calmer than Jewel is in the face of danger. So when Jewel's got to go up against some threatening enemy, Bark would back her up, 100%. And people are going to take the two foot tall, very puntable bug seriously if she's got a 6 foot tall, pure muscle bear lurking around behind her, giving them a "fuck around and find out" look.
...And this is where Jewel becomes the crazy one. The power of "no one wants to touch me because Bark would pound them into a pulp" would go to her head a little bit, and Jewel would slowly (testing out the waters, seeing what she has the guts to actually say or do in each scenario) become a lot more confident and would talk back to her enemies more often. So she'd occasionally blindside poor Bark by responding to Eggman's ludicrous threats with "Why don't you come over here and DO IT?" Or by calmly telling Zavok to fuck off back to Lost Hex, but at least she's more confident in herself now???
Also, this is so minor, but it makes me so feral: warm blooded and cold blooded. JEWEL WINS THE WARM CUDDLES GAME, 100%. TRY TO TOP POLAR BEAR IN GIVER OF WARM CUDDLES, I DON'T THINK YOU CAN!!! Plus Bark strikes me as a physically affectionate guy (to make up for the lack of words 😂), so Jewel would just have an endless supply of warm cuddles. And he's so much bigger than her! She'd never get cold again, he'd make sure of that. 😍 My favorite is to envision them sleeping together (in the literal sense, not the NSFW sense!): Either Jewel's tucked into his arms like a teddy bear, or she's just curled up on his chest and he's pretty much her bed. He wouldn't hurt her, Bark knows his strength and can be very gentle with her. 😍😍😍
...Okay. Rant over, I think. Thank you for enabling me to brain dump about my rare pair! 😍

Thinking about what Megatron, Optimus and Starscream are all respectively getting out of their relationship/s in the law of the Peacemakers universe.
Cos like probably not all kinks reflect deep psychological needs, but certainly SOME of them are. And it's fun to think about which kinks are what.
Optimus: literally just wants exactly what he said he wants, which is for Megatron to listen to him. To stay put, and listen when Optimus speaks, and to do as Optimus asks.
Also while I love sub Optimus getting to give up the burden of leadership, I also think OP doesn't actually feel like he has much control. Like he's in a situation where people constantly expect him to do things he can't or won't do.
So in this universe, Optimus gets to live out the fantasy of giving GOOD orders. Sure he puts his partners through hell, but he also gets to give them exactly what they want over and over again, easily and joyfully and without making any moral compromise. He literally just gets to make people feel good.
Which is partly why he's down for whatever his partners want. But he does need lots of explicit reassurance that he's doing the right thing, before and after scenes.
Megatron: I think Megatron probably isn't as familiar what he wants from this. Optimus especially brings out a new side of him. It's sort of a way of fixing things for him. Like "look, we can work together! we want the same things!"
But the common thread in most of Megatron's kinks in these fics is that he wants to be used for something / to belong to someone else. I'm not totally sure what that Means.
I guess it's about the opportunity to stop fighting for what he thinks he's worth? He gets to put his pride and indignation down for a bit. He can only stop fighting for what he Deserves because at least in the context of these scenes, he doesn't deserve ANYTHING.
Maybe also something a little bit caring and nurturing that he would deny to his last breath. You don't want people to drink your blood unless you want to provide for them, imo.
Starscream: Less distinction between what he wants out of kink/interfacing and what he wants from the relationship here.
At first it's just a question of wanting what he's owed. The two most powerful Cybertronians, two of his biggest enemies, are in a committed and seemingly monogamous relationship - he can't possibly pass up the opportunity to steal all their attention for an evening.
But it steadily morphs into wanting them to look after him. He refuses to ask for that openly, but he most of what he does in this series is a demand for their full attention and efforts and for them to inconvenience themselves for him As Proof. (Proof of what, he wouldn't even admit to himself.)
Also this line I wrote "Starscream had liked the idea so much that he refused to admit to liking it at all."
Thankfully Optimus really likes having a partner who will let him look after them, and Megatron likes for everything to be a struggle, so they all get along mostly fine.
(mostly because, like, the expense damnable is literally just about how sometimes it doesn't go fine)
