We here at bucktommysource are excited to announce the bucktommy hiatus event!

Starting from June 1st we will be hosting an event to show our appreciation and love for this ship. There will be 8 prompts that will run across 8 weeks - one prompt a week, every week, beginning on the 1st of June.

We want this event to be enjoyable and accessible to everybody no matter what kind of content you make, so we've decided to do 2 sets of prompts: one with a more specific aim, and one with a more loose, freeform approach to content creation. You can pick a prompt from either list or mix and match prompts to your hearts content! You can also participate in as many or as few of the prompts as you like and, of course, you can create multiple gifs/edits/graphics/fics for the same prompt - the main goal for this event is to have fun, show our appreciation, and keep up enthusiasm throughout the hiatus!

You can tag your content with #bucktommysource and/or #bucktommyhiatusevent if you'd like us to see them! We've also set up a hiatus event collection on AO3 to make it easier to have all the fics from this event in one place!

OK SO BIG NIGHT FOR BI BUCK STANS.

I am honestly weirdly emotional about this silly little firefighter show I've been watching since high school. It means so much to not only myself but so many other fans, to see bi representation in our favorite show.

Also, I can admit I had lost hope in the whole show by the end of season 6. I wasn't even sure if I would give a fuck enough to tune in but I was curious to see what ABC would do that Fox didn't. And, like, holy shit, they really did it.

Buck kissed a guy. Who is not Eddie Diaz. And he liked it.

I am so fucking excited for Buck, for this storyline to unfold and carry into next season. Tommy was totally unexpected in my eyes, but a nice surprise! I like him so far. Of course I would love him to be the catalyst to Buck and Eddie getting happily ever after, but I'm not wishing him away either.

i had big brain let me cook theory that the stage 2: envy thing for quackitys stream is that its the 7 levels of purgatory with each level representing one of the sleeping eggs with tilin as a sort of psychopomp leading him though the levels and that either when he finished all the levels all the eggs will wake up or when he finishes a level that respective egg will wake up

..which is a long way to say i imagined pomme as wrath with her getting like, revenge for the time quackity kidnapped dapper and shit and was so overcome at how Fucking Sick that would be that i started levitating 6 feet off my bed

This is exactly how I used to recreationally rehab trolls.

Context: I used to be a mod on a tiny forum dedicated to the anti-fandom of EA's Spore. The idea was to talk about how a video game that actually mimicked evolution would work / should be made. (And yes, we could not code our way out of a paper bag. That was not ultimately the point.) I was a mod because the Admins, both about 15, felt that a legal adult should be involved in the forum somewhere. Likely so they didn't have to explain the drama to their parents if the forum host ever came to them demanding to speak to an adult. So I ran the welcome thread. I did not work very hard at it.

Because the rest of the mod team was still very active on the spore forums we occasionally got new people from there, and a lot of them were middle schoolers turned loose on the internet to be edgy, because it was 2010 and trolling was an attention seeking behavior, not a disinformation tool.

So when they showed up being annoying and trying to find a swear that wouldn't get filtered... I greeted them and sent them to the FAQ threads, the only other place they weren't locked out of. The ones who just wanted a rise out of someone fizzled out and left, and the ones who were dedicated to repeatedly questioning the concepts of the theoretical game, like "can't we have planets where instead of water, everything has acid?" got sent on wiki walks until they learned something. Several of them stuck around and became my best intro thread greeters. People forgot they'd showed up as trolls, and several of them told me after they'd been there quite some time that they were actually interested in science now - we'd infected them with nerddom.

what i've learned from my attempts to be more active in discords and other online communities is you just have to show up and participate in conversation and even if youre a little annoying or awkward eventually people will grow a fondness to you out of familiarity alone
