New AIO Series in the Works

Apparently FOTF has recognized the shortcomings of the original show. In their words “the resulting product was lackluster with flat character modeling and cartoonish character stereotyping.” The AIO team has a brand new series in the works. 3 episodes are so far in development for a budget of 1.8 million.

It’s graphics will be 2D rendered to look like 3D. Disney animator John Pomeroy is a consultant on the project. Among the characters sketches is Cunningham-Schultz. Maybe the team is animating old Odyssey episodes. Imagine an animated Blackgaard series done right! Sign us up!

Introduction post!

Hi. I’m essary07. You can call me Es.

I’m still fairly new to AIO Tumblr (in that I️ don’t post here a lot), & this blog is an odd conglomerate of things I️ like, & AIO.

I️’ve been a listener since the late 90’s- I️ was five when my mom came into my bedroom one Saturday morning & turned on the radio for me around 8 am. AIO aired at 10. I️ knew the schedule like clockwork. I’d get up early on Saturdays and listen to the radio for three hours straight. Then the station cut the kids programming around the late 00’s, and I️ had to get my fix online.

We did have several tape collections (which have crinkly VHS-like packaging, and you can’t find these specific collections in the club), including the stand-alone copies of “the visitors,” “Blackbeard’s treasure,” “gloobers!” “Passages,” and the trick-or-treat packaging of “the twiife zone” episode about the pull-string chicken, all courtesy of chick-fil-a kids meals. Man, those were the days of amazing prizes in kids meals.

The reigning episode for carpool rides? “The spy who bugged me.” I️’m pretty sure that one lives in my brain rent-free.

I️ still listen to AIO almost daily; I️ did have a really long stint of club trials over spring of 2020 (that spanned several months, back before they changed the trial period to two weeks- which is a topic for another day- and I️ ran out of emails I️ could use), and binged the early seasons up to ones I️ knew by heart (there’s a list somewhere on my page. It’s quite long).

I️ think the club episodes are severely overrated. Granted, they have a lot of really good storylines, but I️ do wish that the club episodes made sense within the weirdo timeline that AIO has. I️ had NO CLUE who Renee Carter & Horus were until I️ listened to club episodes, because they don’t make any appearances in regular episodes (please correct me if I’m wrong).

AIO has changed quite a bit since I️ was young.

It did, however, help shape my worldview, & I️ still think it’s solid listening for kids & adults. (Although my husband teases me that I️ listen to *multiple* radio programs meant for 8-12 year olds. They’re listed below, if you’re curious)

Radio programming I️ grew up with the the late 90’s-00’s:

I️ started listening to Paws and Tales and Red Rock Mysteries when my local station stopped airing kids programming on Saturdays. Of the two, I️ prefer Paws and Tales. (If you’re not familiar with this, give it a listen. I’ll put a link in the comments)
