Aemon was inseparable from his sister Naerys when they were young. Stories speak of Aemon's doomed love for his sister. Aemon and Naerys supposedly loved each other. According to the singers, both Aemon and Naerys cried the day Naerys married Aegon in 153 AC.

Whatever, it must be said that whoever took care of the religious education of the children of Aegon III and Viserys II, knew how to do their job all too well.

Of eight children, we have:

Baelor I, septon king

Rhaena, septa princess

Naerys, devout queen despite all that life threw at her and whose heart's desire was also to become a septa

Aemon, devout knight who more than anyone else embodied all the virtues of chivalry (which derive, if not coincide, from those of the Faith).

Larra Rogare, the Lady of Lys and wife of Viserys II Targaryen

It is done! It took me far too long to complete the piece, but my interpretation of Larra is done! The piece is inspired by Parmigianino's Antea, otherwise known as Portrait of a Young Woman.

I was particularly interested in using Parmigianino's piece in my own headcanons of the Free Cities, which I believe GRRM took some inspiration from the city-states of Italy in the early(ish) Renaissance period, independent but still 'successors of Rome' kind of deal, just as the Free Cities are somewhat legacies of Old Valyria. Therefore, I decided to draw Larra with fashion similar to the city-states of Italy (with some fantasy flair). Perhaps a bit strange to Westerosi eyes, but still lavish and refined, which the elite families of Lys are known for. They are proud of their Valyrian heritage as evidenced by their emphasis on the purity of blood, but their fashion would have evolved in a different direction post-Doom, especially given international trade's influence on Lys.

And I couldn't resist drawing Larra in a rich purple, it is just perfect for her! While we know a little about Larra, I have always been interested in her sense of independent self as wife, mother, sister, worshipper, and Lyseni, which could not conform to Westerosi society. And you know what, pop off queen, I support you. <3
