Karan is a big softie and would do anything for his little partner. And Szeezo makes sure to protect him from any harm or anyone who is mean to him >:( i love them very much, they are so wholesome and cute 🥰

More about them:

Both met during their time in the aetherblades. Szeezo once being part of the inquest but then moved to the aetherblades to upgrade weaponry and air ships. And Karan has always had the feeling of not belonging anywhere which made him first join a group of bandits and then later the aetherblades.

They are both very slow burn romantic wise but actually hit it off pretty fast otherwise. Karan and Szeezo were very compatible and liked each others presence very much.

it took Karan very long to understand that Szeezo was interested in him. And for Szeezo it took long to show any affection towards the human because she first had to learn that she is worthy of love and trust after being groomed and abused by her best friend and former mentor who introduced her to the inquest.

During their time there they realised they were better off somewhere else, especially since Szeezo got more confident and finally had a reason to leave the inquest and aetherblades. But this has been proven a bit more difficult.

They are planning of settling down somewhere more quiet, somewhere in Elona where they enjoy the warm climate more.

sometimes you make a wicked au (long before the movie came out) with your and your friend's sylvari commanders bc you realise you accidentally made a story that hits every single one of the same beats as wicked (but manages to avoid tragedy by hitting a couple of those beats in a different order), and now you've got a whole musical album to have character angst about

and then the movie does come out and gives you so much more inspiration for costume design in the wicked au

and then you remember halfway through that you got a 50pack of gel pens and a 10pack of highlighters for christmas and you've never used either of them as a medium before but lets give it a go!

🖊 Stephanie has a... complicated relationship with mesmers, and their portals especially. She wouldn't admit it but it does stem from her relationship with her mother (it's not good) and the fact she associates them with her. Wouldn't be uncommon for her to end up being teleported outside their home and they'd fight so she just generally hates the feeling of teleporation and makes her nauseous - though she's getting better at handling it! If not out of necessity, when you're running with street gangs and pirates a hasty escape is often needed, then by exposure therapy ie her fellow crewmate Niko constantly pranking her by placing portals under her feet (but it's fine he didn't know, he apologized)

🖊 you get an extra Steph fact, as a treat. She actually didn’t join the Aetherblades by choice, she’d been working with the Seraph when Scarlet attacked Divinity’s Reach, tasked with maintenance of the automated defenses set around the Crown Pavilion for the Queen's Jubilee. When the Aetherblades ran into her, for whatever reason they took her hostage instead of killing her. She was for the most part left forgotten at the bottom of an airship all throughout Scarlet’s antics until the Aetherblades broke Mai Trin out and fled into the Mists, where they’d get stuck, leaving Steph no real choice but to join them

🖊 Tiernac like every good sylvari had a pretty rough time during HoT, he’d joined a mercenary company to cushion his savings after he ran away from the Aetherblades, but where they’d initially been tasked with simply cleaning up Tangle Root and Fort Vandal of the various Mordrem and vines, he and the company were roped into the assault against Mordremoth because the Pact needed the extra hands. Airships fell yada yada and Tiernac having been an ex Courtier and technically an outsider to the mercenary company, didn’t last very long against Mordremoth’s will. That said he was only placed in a blighting pod shortly before Mordremoth fell so he didn’t undergo any severe physical alterations, his transformation being cut short by his pod falling and cracking open at the bottom of Verdant Brink. As disoriented as he was he did make it out alive and somewhere down the line he’d be hired by Jessamy

We really haven't had a casual season since lws3 huh? Like an arc made to lead *up to* a big bad, not start and address it entirely within one season.

Lws1: scarlet, as a villain but a precursor to an elder dragon

Lws2: took the info from lws1 and built slowly to the big extra reveal of mordremoth creating sylvari, built up big emotional stakes and gave us a lot of really interesting background information.

HoT: fought said elder dragon, messy season but had more space for what was rushed since the preamble happened in lws1

Lws3: minor enemies (white mantle, a mursaat) all to lead up to the reveal that balthazar was free and wanted to kill all the elder dragons. Minor jormag and primordus stuff too, to build Braham personal stakes and help us understand the necessity of the dragon cycle.

PoF: fought balthazar, with the stakes already there and able to dive right in. Found out at the end about kralk being fully active.

Lws4: fought both suddenly returned joko and kralkatorrik in one season, big stuff constantly happening.

Icebrood: found out about and fought two elder dragons at once, big stuff constantly happening.

EoD: found out about and fought aetherblades, the void, and soo won all in one season, big stuff constantly happening.

SotO: found out about kryptis and wizards and had to save two dimensions, big stuff constantly happening.

JaW: found out about the titans and are in the process of wiping them out while also finding out deep mursaat lore, big stuff constantly happening.

I kinda miss interstitial seasons you guys, time to process between the huge steps. They're chance for some really interesting lore expanding and also are the places where anet has gotten the most creative with mechanics and just testing things out.

After lws3 the later stuff pretty much would just wrap its own thing and be self contained. I miss the slow contemplation, getting individual character studies within the season instead of as side achievements. It'd just be nice to have a real living world season again

I did some exploring after the Dragon's End meta

Y'all. All the airships around the battlefield have actual people on them. Two of them are simply Pact airships, but the others?

I found Sunspears, Awakened, Aetherblades and Corsairs all around us! (the awakened ship doesn't have collision so be careful). There's also what looks like The Glory of Tyria (or the same model) high in the sky, but I couldn't reach that one.

And the most surprising...

Tixx is there to lend a hand!
