This tactic messages to the intended recievers letting them know they are united in thought. Senator Johnson's words were being televised at the same time the murderer of George Floyd, Ofc. Derrick Chauvin trial began selecting jurors in Minneapolis, Mn. Senator Ron Johnson's signal was intended to remind viewers in his state that white actions are different than Black actions and to evoke feelings of anger toward Black protests. Who was Rep. Roy signalling when during a House special session discussing violence against Asian-Americans he used an, "Old Texas saying" that included "the longest rope and a tall tree"? His signal was to keep the temperature of white anger at fever pitch as he will need to to keep Republican voters energized and desensitized to the humanity of non-whites. The next few elections in Texas are expected to energize voters against Republicans after the statewide electrical outage. The only thing Roy and others have to combat GOP failures at the state and national level is white anger. The "real world" comment signals to communities where diversity is not the preferred practice they are heard and understood. Everyone knows racism is wrong. Using inappropriate, insensitive and racially triggering language is socially and morally wrong. Awww, thank you!  I love All I Think About Is You so much.  Reading it now, there are afewthings I would do different, but it still holds up well.  It swings from really fun, happy scenes, to some really hard, painful moments.  It’s my baby in so many ways. My first multi-chap, my first completely original story of any length.  I learned so much from writing it, from publishing it, and looking back on it.  And it gave me huge confidence to keep writing.  Some of the feedback I got influences how I write now and I’m so glad for that.  Tell me your favorite story of mine

#AFewThings 1. Impeachment Defense: It appears demonizing every Black women in c Congress is strategy one. Strategy two is creating a video with every Democrat who ever used the word, "fight". Yup. We are supposed to equalize the fights for civil tights, equality and against police brutality to the efforts of #45's attempt to reverse electiom results to remain in power and the murderous intent of his followers. 2. The 74 Million: Since the 2020 Election was decided, we have been told by Republicans, the media and those who uphold systemic racism, "We need to consider the needs of the 74 million people who voted for #45". The fact is these people only represented one-third of over 213 million of eligible voting age Americans in 2020. That means there were close to 70 million people that did not vote. The two people who lead the efforts to engage these people are 2 Black women; @StaceyAbrams and @LaToshaBrown. 3. Black Silence: Think about this: Many of the voices responsible for creating turmoil among the black community during last year's election seem to have disappeared from the public eye. @KanyeWesr, @IceCube, @50Cent, @Jaheim and @Weezy to name a few have been totally silent. Why arent they still fighting in public for what's best for Black people? Where are the supposed 20% of Black men who casted a vote for #45 in November? I didnt see them on January 6th. 4. Sponsoring An Insurrection In addition the the Republican Liutenant Governors Association (of which one member is Black) who provided financing to transport the insurrectionists, corporations financed the January 6th act of terrorism. Back in MN :)

* As I exited my vehicle at my apartment; I inhaled and felt my heart let go. I felt freedom. I’m incredibly grateful that I get to live here; it’s beautiful, great coffee, nice people (most of the time), and I feel at home. 

* Given these overwhelming feelings of coming home, I have decided to capitalize upon them and set a few life-changer goals.

--treat people with kindness and compassion above all. Recognize my tendency to project my emotions on other people and work towards owning my emotions.

--talk more in therapy. Allow myself to be vulnerable and utilize the time I get with my therapist because it’s truly a gift. Commit to honesty, even when it’s ugly.

--take advantage of my opportunities. Go kayaking because there’s very little water in Texas; go for walks near the river and the trees; take Barri to the lakes, make a schedule for myself so that I can continue to work towards bigger life goals; use my resources and the people who offer help. 

--set realistic health goals: a1c, stomach management, daily diabetes routine, and nutrition.

--become more involved at church. I want to be consistent in my mass attendance. Even when I feel sick. 

*When the storms are raging keep the gas steady, both hands on the wheel, steady, always steady. Alert and aware; keep going.

a few simple things to do today

1. stop thinking that you have any less value than anyone else. you’re beautiful and you should start seeing yourself as the people around you see you: gorgeous and amazing. 2. ask the guy out that keeps looking your way in your fifth period class.. what’s the worst that could happen? 3. go out of your own way to make someone’s day better by simply holding the door or complimenting the way they wore their hair because a kind simple act could make someone feel happiness. 4. call your parents and tell them how much you love them because there’s no reason you shouldn’t remind them. 5. go for a walk and observe the smaller joys of the world and truly appreciate the environment surrounding you.
