This is my mom. She’s unwell. Her heart is failing her. Now, she wants to spend all her free time with me. I feel like a cat trying to squirm free. When I needed her, she wasn’t there. Now, she wants to pretend we had this great relationship. It’s a matter of time. I’m wrestling with the notion of “does it make her happy in the moment” knowing her moments may be her last? If anyone has words of encouragement or wisdom, they’re appreciated. TIA.

A Summing Up
I have lived and I have loved;
I have waked and I have slept;
I have sung and I have danced;
I have smiled and I have wept;
I have won and wasted treasure;
I have had my fill of pleasure;
And all of things were weariness,
And some of them were dreariness,
And all these things, but two things,
Were emptiness and pain:
And Love - it was the best of them;
And Sleep - worth all the rest of them.
If we can say a few people loved us and we loved a few of them in return, we can’t say we’ve had a bad life.
